Does anyone have any clue how to defeat the hammer in the treasury of the Halls of Hammer?

You dont have to fight it, I dont think it can be beaten I tried... with cheats -_-;

In fact I looked up a walkthrough after you mentioned it, and....*poof*

At the At the next hall, go to thenext hall, go to theeastern wall to find the door to the Treasury that's locked by the key you
bought from Durbem. Enter the room and you'll be attacked by an animated
hammer. You can make it fall but it always comes back up. If anyone knows how
or even if you can defeat it completely, let me know. Anyway, loot the Treasury
for lots and lots of gold pieces. Go back to the other room, head north and
save at the pedestal. You'll find the entrance to the third level of the Halls.

Dont you have better thing to do than defeating an invincible hammer? *signifigant stare*

Just call him she... its easier, I had to double check on who you were talking about. I never beat chrono trigger at all... I just stopped playing it. Im replaying Mario RPG right now though so Ill have to get back to chrono another time.
