?Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages!?
A tall man dressed in barber-shop stripes hollered into a bullhorn and waved his free arm dramatically. A cloud of smoke burst out behind him, the results of a capsule. The smoke cleared to reveal a stage and bandstand, complete with T.V. cameras and a classic Big Band. The man with the bullhorn snapped his fingers and the band burst into an upbeat swing number. With a flourish, he leapt up to the stage and stepped to the center, bullhorn still at the ready.
?Come and see a spectacle like you have never seen before! Action! Drama! Adventure! People risking their lives at every turn and facing their worst fears to be proclaimed the most powerful warrior in the universe!?
By this time, a small crowd had gathered around the sight, eager to find out what was going on. Across the universe, television sets were displaying the man?s image and message, even if they didn?t mean to. Families suddenly found themselves staring into the pristine smile of this loudspeaker-wielding advertiser.
?I have two lists sitting here before me, my friends.? A table seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. Two pieces of paper were sitting on top of it, side by side. ?To my left I have a list for those daring enough to risk their lives participating in this event, and to my right I have something for those who want to experience this marvelous spectacle first-hand.?
?What?s in it for us, pal?? A large man stepped forward and looked around the bandstand.
?Please, call my Boz, my good man.? Boz?s bullhorn had been magically replaced by a small microphone clipped to a red stripped lapel. ?And that?s a wonderful question. We have prizes galore for anyone willing to enter this tournament. The wonderful people at Synex Corp. are sponsoring this event and sparing no expenses. All the best facilities, the most fantastic prizes, and huge cash bonuses for all of the participants.?
?But won?t it be dangerous for the people watching, mister Boz?? A small boy waved a hand from the front of the crowd.
?Another wonderful question. I assure everyone here that Synex has gone to horrible lengths to make sure that everything is perfectly safe and regulated. Nothing can possibly happen to those that are just there to watch.? Boz turned to the TV cameras and flashed a toothy smile. ?This is not one to miss out on, folks. It will be televised, but that can hardly compare to the sheer excitement and blood pumping action of Dante?s Abyss!?
OCB: Short and sweet. We all know what?s going on.

"Your gonna join?" Bra asked in disbelief at the reptile's movements. Burter just chuckled and brushed past a namek in line to sign into the form. "Dont you remember Friend or Foe?"
"Oh, come on," Burter taunted, "This is different. We can totally do this, trust me." Just like that, he filled out the line with his line. 'Burter.' "Anyone else gonna join?" He asked, looking back at the group

"Ooooh!" Bulma squealed and pushed past Android 16 and Burter to get to the form. "This is gonna be SO fun!"
"MOM?!" Bra asked in complete shock as Bulma wrote her name down. "Are you crazy?!"
"Duh," she said with a giggle, "I'm your mother, remember?"

Jackie stood in amazement at how stupid the presentation looked. Then he stepped in front of Boz and shortly said:
"Id like to join, please."
He awaited as Boz signed him up, watching the Namekian sky.

Kami had just finished his shopping trip on Arlia, but hadn't quite decided to leave the planet just yet. There was another surge in power at a different trading post a ways away from his location. He flicked on his scouter and it buzzed with activity.
Once he reached the larger trading outpost he saw what all the hubub was about - Dante's Abyss was back.
Kami pushed past several weary on lookers, right up to the elecrtonic sign up machine and put his name down. He figured he might be on this planet until he was picked up for DA. This time was going to be different, he wasn't going to be the one left as a floating head. He could also use the money, it would be good since he just spent a bunch.

"Oh, come on." 18 yanked on the long-haired saiyan's tail. "It'll be fun."
"Fun? Last time I was in one of those tournaments I was almost blown up with the entire planet."
"And how is that not fun?"
"Well..." Rad had to admit that fleeing an exploding planet was pretty fun. "Ok... so it was kinda fun."
"Besides, you haven't done anything but sit around lately. No sparring, no training, no battling for the fate of a planet."
"I'm taking a vacation." With a long sigh, Raditzu approached one of the sign-up tables on Earth and scribbled his name onto a list.
There was quite a crowd gathered around the table. There were far more people signing up to watch the tournament first-hand than there were people signing up to get blown up. Not a huge surprise. Rad himself wasn't sure if he wanted to participate or just watch. The fact that he could lose control at, seemingly, a moment's notice was not exactly the most comforting thought. That had been the source of his recent rash of lethargy, though he would never admit it. He would enter the tournament and just see where things took him. This might be perfect for getting a hang of using his recently acquired transformation.
"... it'll be fun," Raditzu murmed to himself.

The air was stale and chatter carried over like boat on a calm day. The changeling marched himself cityward, the energy signatures of familiar people radiated an expectation, an excitement. The changeling stirred along the crisp grass before increasing his pace to from a brisk walk to shredding the sky in flight, and quickly a city leapt up to greet him. His sleek form soared past office windows unnoticed as people inside worked another long day. The humidity of the air gave off a feeling of strangulation, as it and the changeling form closed in on the crowd who had gathered. Truthfully, he had known what was happening before he even set forth in it's direction.
"Dante's Abyss." The words themselves seemed to ooze with blood and cruel decay. He had seen many of these tournaments in the past, far too many, but they always seemed to hold an interesting gain. At the very least, he supposed, it would be a chance to gather enemies together and reap what had been sown. There were numbers of people who had something coming for them, and this way he wouldn't have to chase them. For some, it's the thrill of the hunt that keeps them going, for this changeling, it was simply the feeling of complete dominance and to have created wanton destruction. He enjoyed watching his victim's eyes fade to grey as his hand tightened around their throat. Every last ounce of life sucked from their unwilling eyes. That was why he killed. And that was why he would enter.
The pavement cracked as the changeling fell from the sky. Heads turned at the surprising entrance, but most weren't shocked, displays of power had become common in the life of Earthlings, universal powers had gathered and clashed in their eyes before. To have an alien drop from the sky was nothing to write home about. Koola paraded to the table and signed his name elegantly, "King Koola." He would quickly have to prove his worth of the title, and possibly fight his brother or father for it. It was time for a new rule though, and this was the perfect place to begin. He walked into the teleportation tube to the loading bay and materialized in another place.

"Rocking around, the Christmas tree, it's a happy holiday." sang Piccolo. "I'm making up, my own lyrics, becuase this song is gay!"
Piccolo pranced around his Christmas tree until suddenly, his scouter picked up on a signal passing through the air waves.
"Join, join, join!" said the Voice.
"Ok." Said PIccolo. "The Dante's Abyss is starting, I'm in."
Piccolo flew around and finally found the sign up booth. Landing, he fired a Special Beam Cannon into the weaker Namek's signing up.
"I guess I'm next!" laughed Piccolo as he skipped to the booth, to sign up.

Warriors came and went. Some, Reijin knew. Others, he did not. He watched them as they filled the ranks, signing the sheet and then breaking off into various groups to try to assure themselves a false sense of security through numbers. He had heard of the tournament before. He remembered the natives of Yardrat once talking about it during his training. The tournament had originated by a group called "Jarvis Elite", running it primarily as a sort of blood sport. Shortly into it, Capsule Corporation had somehow gotten involved, taking it over in the name of silencing it.
Reijin was not sure how this "Synex" was involved. Had they somehow bought the rights from Capsule Corp., or had they simply recreated the tournament on their own new planet? The other planet Dante had been destroyed nearly. Was this the same one, or had Synex somehow rebuilt it?
Regardless... The winner of the tournament had arrived. Reijin gave a cocky grin, and stepped up to the sign in list. Then his grin faded. He had a problem.
"Everything all right?" the correspondant asked.
Reijin gave him a look. "Everything is fine." he snapped.
The attendant laughed. "First time jitters?"
Reijin slammed his fist onto the table. "I am not afraid to die!"
Shaking his head, the attendant pushed the paper and pen forward. "Then sign your name and prove it."
Reijin hesitated before speaking. "Do you have any computers to sign in with?"
"None. Too hackable."
Reijin's jaw popped. He didn't know how to write. He could read easily. He could compete with the best as far as brains went. He had never excluded his mental training while competing in warrior skills. He knew philosophy, biology, astronomy... He knew the various langauges of the universe... He simply did not know how to write. How could he? Where he had been, such things were thought of as primitive. He'd always simply used a computer.
He picked up the pen, holding it like he would a knife, close fisted. He pressed it to the paper, and attempted to recreate the characters that made his name on a computer screen. "R... E... I..." he mumbled.
The attendant leaned over, watching him, and chuckled. "You not know how to write or something?"
Reijin finished with "N" and then looked over at the attendant. Then he suddenly smiled. "No. I would not think such things would matter in a competition of this calibur. Are we having a writing contest, or a fighting contest?"
The attendant reached over to get the paper. "I guess it's all good. Good luck then." Reijin suddenly slammed the pen down, into the man's hand. The pen penetrated and nailed the man's hand to the table.
"Do not patronize me with such wishes." he said to the screaming man.
He turned, releasing the man, and pulled his cloak around him. He had business here.
"I'm gonna fuck that unicorrrrrn"

The perfect opportunity to test his new skills. The idea flashed on the array of television sets that were displayed in front of the electronics store on Earth. They all flashed with the same image of Boz declaring how wonderful this event would be. It seemed a little reminiscent of the time he spent in Brim's sideshow, but this time it was his choice, and his money. Watching the many locations of the sign up booths on the screen, Goku pinpointed the nearest place and focused upon the ki signatures he felt. Hell, he could've picked anywhere on the planet with his technique. In an instant Goku evaporated into light and reassembled at the sign up table. He appeared at the front of the line, causing the people behind him to stumble back.
"If you're startled by that, maybe you shouldn't sign up," he warned the crowd with a shrewd smirk, scribbling his signature on the sheet.

Uub just grinned "Move your fat ass.." He brushed up infront of the line, a few people objected but the stern look from Burter shut the nameks up...He took the pen and signed his name with a flourish "No turning back.." He held the pen in his hand ready for someone else in his group to take it...

"What is going on" the android looked into the crowd seeing all odf the people and wondered what they were doing.
A man from behind him replied with "don't you know, there is a tournament being held for the strongest fighters in the universe!"
The black-haired android pondered on taht thought. "The strongest fighters in the universe you say", the gentlemen only nodded. "Get out of my way everybody, I have a tournament to win." He walked to a big desk with about 5 popele at it.
"How may I help you sir?" the woman in front of him asked.
The fighter from hell said "I would like to be in this tournament."
"Dante's Abyss? Well this is just the place for you. Just intitial here and sign here...then sign all of these forms" as she pulled a stack of about 100 papers out and placed them in front of him. It would be worth it though, to face people as strong as him, or even more so. So the signing of papers begun.

The skuttling of feet across the ground was heard as various people in the crowd jumped and gave a little yell in a line leading up the where Broz was speaking. Suddenly emerging from the crowds was a black haired, orange suited, mini Saiyan with a big smile who waved his hands rapidly in the air in front of the speaker. Having heard all that was said he deperately wanted to be a part of all the fun he had heard about thus far.

MK picked up the flyer that his brother so eagerly dropped. "hmm... Dante's Abyss." He stroked his metallic chin, "I remember what happened last time." He gave an evil grin and flew off after his brother.

Bra quickly took the chromium-plated pen from Uub.
"If my mom's going to this thing, I'm going too." Bra declared, pushing past the now agitated Nameks who had been waiting patiently in front of them.
"Just sign your name there, girl." said the attendant.
"Okay." the cyan-haired warrior replied, writing her name out with unnecessarily flourishing strokes of the pen, "There."
"I wasted time and now time doth waste me."
"I just made you up to hurt myself, and it worked."

"OUT of my way!" The long line of earthlings turned their heads to the source of the scream almost in unison. Several of the earth warriors smiled, shook thier heads or even openly laughed as a small green man glided foreward, his cloak barely touching the ground. He ignored the usual stairs and giggles that accompanied his arrival and moved up to the front of the line. The goblin made a big deal about barely noticing the man in the middle of signing his name and with a dreary sigh and a glance at some far away object pushed him to the side. He picked up the pen and wrote
'The Indommitable Lord and Master of the Cosmos Gar-' he paused. There was a strange sensation... like a gentle breeze against his cheek. His eyes shifted to the right and saw the man he pushed over's fist against the side of his face.
"Your through here." he stated simply and gently placed his tiny fingers on the man's pipe like wrist. With a jerk the human was sent tumbling through the air. A sickening thud could be heard in the back of the line. '-lic Jr' His hand hovered overr his seemingly finished signature. He looked around thoughtfully then placed the pen back on the sign up sheet... 'Esquire'

Krillin hopped up, eager to try out his fighting skills in a tournament.
Signing his name on the paper however, brough a feeling of fear to him. He realized that he had just signed-up for something he didn't fully understand.
'Oh well,' he thought, 'what's done is done...'

Flying over North City, Android 20 spotted a bit of commotion below. He landed a soon learned that this was for the sign-ups of a great upcoming tournament, known as Dante's Abyss. After waiting very impatiently in line, the doctor finally got up to the sign-up sheet. Something told him to turn around right then, but he ignored it, and signed the sheet anyways. The android then turned to the nearest teleportation tube, and stepped inside, not knowing that this may be the last time he ever saw his home planet.

A bruised warrior walked forward slowly with a limp. People were in a crowd for some reason. He was on the street of North City, tired and hungry. He pushed his way through a throng of people. He looked left and right to see men and women alike. Then a loud voice.
"Come one, come all! See the spectacle of your life!"
The voices were muffled a bit and that's all Tapion heard. He looked down and crouched down a bit to see a flier. He gripped it in his left hand and read it to himself. A tournament was being held. Tapion talked to himself quietly.
"I may not be fully healed, but this will be fun. I'm in."
