Offical Snake Eater Thread

I got the game for X-mas, played maybe an hour or two. I already love it, still getting the hang of every thing though. I've played through MGS 1 and 2 (Raiden is a dick...the very begining of MGS3 was amusing though)

Got to love the camoflauge system, and although I haven't used it the medical system looks cool. Finding food for yourself is also kind of cool - get those really long snakes, the recoiling boa or some crap like that, heals a bunch of stamina (another cool interesting feature along with the backpack) and tastes good.

No spoilers in this thread, you spoil I send an elite team of ninja rapists to your house, and I'll warn you for spamming. HA!

Right now I'm trying to get over this god damned suspension bridge. I was thinking I would tranq a couple guys on the bridge, let someone else run out there and then cut one of the damn ropes, except I couldn't find where to cut and I've fallen off the cliff twice, maybe I should read how to get up off a ledge without going down.

I tried the monkey game, the radio conversation between the Colonel and Snake is freaking hillarious (helps if you've played the other games)

Regardless of the question they ask you when you start the game (Are you new to MGS? I liked MGS1 or I liked MGS2) They do that disguse thing in the intro right? I wonder what kind of bearing on the game that has, because personally I think I enjoyed MGS 1 better (because Snake is a badass and Raiden takes it up the ass) but I put MGS 2 because that was the more current of the two games. Anyways, throw down some thoughts, comments, hints and tips if people get stuck (NO SPOILERS - remember, elite ninja rapists, I have them on speed dial)

I looked this up...if you say you like MGS2 in the start they give you a raiden mask, but if you say you liked MGS1 your stamina goes down slower. I said I like MGS2, cause it is the newer one and maybe being newer it would do something...but no, I get a mask to look like that fruit Raiden. *grumbles* I need to go play that game.

STUPID ROPE BRIDGE! Only this time it is night...;( I can't friggin stealth kill anybody either...I'm rusty...and did anybody else catch the password for ADAM "Who are the patriots?" "La-li-lu-le-lo" or whatever...ehhhh, ehhhh, pretty cool huh! WHEEE!

I'm getting pissed at that game. A cobra was about to bite me so I stabbed it though.

I just beat the game. Excellent game, but I really didn't think I would beat it that quick =(

EDIT: And you cant not take damage from the Fury. He starts out by hitting you. =P

At least it gave me some damage Burter.

Oh, and the credits all the way through guys, you can see something that is a part of the story.

Also, watch it fully and past your score, on your first time, you get something special.

Just reload your save file again to use it in a new game.

I just beat The Fear. All my ammo is gone except my shotgun and sniper rifle. ;(

My first playtime was 15 hours :X

EDIT: To me, The Fear is the hardest to take down. And I did it WITHOUT Thermal Goggles so he pissed me off quite alot

Now I've got to get up the mountain and fight The End and shit. I'm horrible at sneaking up one people and I've just now started noticing those funny frogs, so if I want stealth camo I'll have to get it on my next trip through. *sigh* and I have to go back to school on the 2nd so my PS2 and game stay at home while I rot away into nothing at school. Fuck school. *drinks*

You can skip The End by turning the PS2 off and then back on, and in Configuration you can then turn the date forward a week. By doing this, The End will be dead.

OR you can skip the date just a couple days, and the End will have snuck up behind you and killed you =(

Yeah, I read abotu changing the date. Although, I would like to try and kill his bird and then sneak up on his ass so I can get this supposed Moss camo I read about...makes you fucking no see able in grass and stuff and gives you stamina back in sunlight.

Impressive, considering that I've never ever been able to predict most of Kojima's plot twists. MGS2 kept having me think one thing, and then totally change the whole idea further on. Most people still don't really know the actual reasoning and plot behind the whole operation. It's really quite sad.

I need to go buy MGS3. Damn companies and their releasing good games. >=(
