Zarbon: I'd like you to write me a correct definition of spamming, what is punishable spam and what is "tasteful" shall we say, spam. This is very important, as so many people join and decide that slightly off topic is spam. This, obviously isn't the case, IM me if you don't follow my meaning.

Very good topic for me I suppose.

Well, i'll start with "tasteful" spam.

If it is spam such as a "Burter said this" sort of thing, proposing to start a discussion, that is tasteful spam, for it starts a discussion about something, though it is totally unneeded, it does start discussion. So pretty mcuh something that goes with the discussion is perfect! As long as it adds to it, and isn't some gibberish like "kakaala", that would be tasteless spam, meaning doesn't even make sense, propose a joke, or any sort of discussion at all, or even over time at all.

For example of tasteful spam, lets go like this:

Burter says he would maybe eat his baby, and the person who heard this posts it on the boards to propose as a joke.

That is tasteful spam, no one really cares, but it may propose a chuckle or two.

Tasteless spam is different though, remember that time Rad slammed his gentials on the keyboard for no reason? That is tasteless spam, its utter gibberish and is just taking up space.

Now, if your posting in someone else's topic, and bring up something that has nothing to do with the topic at all, this is not including commenting on what a person says like "Fucking retards.", since that is flaming, and is not on the topic of spamming, that is also tasteless spam.

Here is another example, including me since i'm not perfect.

There is this topic about cheeses...I know, not that best, but my mind is not working today, if I suddenly come in and put some junk about my TV, not including anything about cheese or any connecting, that is tasteless spam.

If you saw something about cheese on TV, that is fine.

So tasteful and tasteless spam has a very thin line, but I don't tolerate tasteless spam.

Zarbon has spoken.

Zarbon write it out as though it were in the rules section of the site...

There are two types of spam, tasteful and tasteless, tasteful is accpetable (though sometimes not that wanted) while tasteless is not tolerated.

Tasteless spam is when you either:

A) Go major off-topic in a topic without even having a connection between the two subjects.

B) Post gibberish or unneeded things.

C) Call someone a name/make fun of someone, which is unneeded in the discussion, also known as Flaming.

D) One word posts are disallowed.

Tasteful spam is different, it happens in these occasions:

A) The person posts something that is unneeded, but promotes discussion.

B) Posting slightly off-topic but connecting them.

Zarbon, I think it would be best to go into more detail and also make sure that you stress on spam in the Q/S/A board and the IC boards. Just thought I would say, you just need to expand, that's all, keep it up, though.

Rules for posting in the Questions/Suggestions/Updates board:

1. Questions:

-Many people have questions when they first join Chubbs, some people still do after being here for months, so don't feel bad if you have alot.

-In the Questions/Suggestions/Updates(Q/S/A) board, you are free to ask these questions. The first things that you should do before asking a question: (a) Ask yourself; Is this question about the site and/or board? (b) Make sure that this question isn't answered on the following pages that are located on the home page of the site: Background; Special Places; Special People; Techniques; Shop; Dragonballs. Make sure to familiarize yourself with these pages, many questions can be answered by just looking at these. This rules page can also help you with many problems or questions as well.

-If somebody has asked a question in teh Q/S/A board and you feel as though you can correctly answer them, then please do so.

-Unless, of course, the answer has already been said, we do not like it when people answer the same question over and over. So, please, do NOT answer a question if it has already been clearly answered.. Along with this rule, if the question has been answered, there is no more need to post in that thread again, unless, you have a follow up question to do with the matter.

-A big issue in this forum is spamming, so, if you disagree with what a fellow member has said in that thread or wnat to say something to them, please keep it to the PM system, we do not want people starting rguements in this forum.

2. Suggestions:

-We here at Chubbs realize that this place isn't exactly as good as it could be, it is excellent, but there are always things that we can improve on. So, if you have a idea that you think is good, go ahead and post it in here.

-With a idea of yours, though, always try to think it through. make sure that you think it is good, makes ure that you explain it thoroughly so that the we, the staff members, can get what you are talking about.

-When responding to what a person has suggested, make sure that it is useful, such as pinting out something that has can be improved and show them how to improve it, just don't say something like "That's a stupid idea, I don't like it," we don't need to here that.
-
If it has been said that we will atke it into consideration, then there shouldn't be any otehr discussion upon the matter.

3. Updates:

-Sometimes, we here can forget to update something for you, it happens every now and then, so we will try to improve this. When you need something to be updated, then this is teh place to remind us, but there are some guidelines to follow.

-If you have completed a spar, quest, fight, or training for a technique and it has not been updated within 48 hours, then, it could be a idea to post this.

-Another thing to ask for an update on would be if you want your best moves to be added to the Techiques Vault board. Or, if you want to add another move, but this can simply be done by posting the move and it's description in this thread, don't worry if your moves aren't added immediately to the Techniques Vault board immediately, sometimes things pile up on us.

-Sometimes even the updates are forgotten, so we have a little thing called "bumping." You simply post in your thread with somthing along the lines of "bump," unless one if us staff has said that we will get to it soon.

-You can bump with most things that aren't updated, this is usually if it has been longer than 48 hours. You do not update the "Adding Moves" thread, which I linked you to earlier, as it is stickied and cannot be lost in other pages. Also, when you are posting your three best moves, it would be a good idea to do it after 72, sometimes even 96 hours after you posted it, since it is not a necessity for you to be able to use your moves and remember, if one of us in staff say we will do it alter or that we will get to it, we will, so don't worry.

4. Spamming:

-As staff, we hate this, tasteful or tasteless, it is just horrible. post if you need to.

-More on this in the spam section of the rules.

I hope that was to all of your liking ^_^

Okay, here's what I have so far for the regular Capsule Corp Board. Cbay is gonna go separatley. And could someone tell me how to make a hyperlink into an actual word they can click on? I don't know how to change it otherwise.

Capsule Corporation Board Rules

The capsule corporation board is where you go to post the items you wish to buy. The list of items you can buy can be found here: http://cdbzrpg.dracondev.com/shop.php. There are a few rules to remember about posting on the CC board, so please keep these in mind:

1) You must roleplay yourself making the purchase. This means you can't just put what you are purchasing and the price of it, you actually have to roleplay your character purchasing the item

2) At the bottom of your post, please make a ?receipt? of your purchases. An example of a receipt for a purchase is as follows:

Bought: Scouter
Zeni Balance: 1500
New Zeni Balance: 1500-400=1100

3) Please remember to put your purchase in equation form. (Example: 1000-200=800) This makes it easier for the staff to read what you bought and update your roster page.

4) If you are splitting the cost of an item with someone, please post at the bottom with the receipt exactly how much each person is contributing to the purchase

5) Certain items can only be bought on certain planets. If you want to buy an item that is only available on a certain planet, that means you actually have to be on that planet in order to buy it.

Thanks, and we hope you enjoy shopping at Capsule Corp.

Alright, I need some help.

I know nothing about image sizes, or a .jpg against a .gif. What is the standard avatar size? What about banners? I don't pay much attention to the images of the site, so I'm not sure about all this.

I can handle the rest of it, I just don't know about the images.

Avatars must be lower than 22 000 bytes and within 120x120. For banners, lower than 50 kb.

To help reduce image size, it is recommended that the file is in .gif format.

Workshop Rules

The Workshop is an area in which one can submit their artistic visions and flair for the Chubbs population to critique. This area of Chubbs is a bit more strict than the Asylum. Just follow the rules, and you'll be fine.

IMAGES

1) No obscene material. Keep it classy. We don't want any porn or hentai floating about the site. Pretend that an eleven-year-old girl scout will be viewing the material. Would she be offended? If so, it's not worthy of posting. Crossing the line with this is a major offense, and depending on the severity, could result in an instant ban.

2) Keep the images below the size limit. Avatars must be below 120 pixels by 120 pixels (120x120), and 22,000 bytes (about 21.5 kilobytes). Banners or sigs must be below 51,200 bytes (50 kilobytes) and 450 pixels by 110 pixels. This is to prevent people from sapping file space, and stretching the boards out of proportion.

CRITIQUES

1) Above all, respect the members of this forum. Don?t let personal feelings get in the way of a critique. If a picture is downright horrible, there is no need to chew out the submitter. Simply let them know the picture?s faults, and try to point them in the right direction.

2) No spamming. You can state your opinions on a picture, but there is no need to say it over and over again. The purpose of this forum is to provide feedback to pictures, or to submit some of your own. If you are doing neither, then you shouldn?t be posting.

3) Post intelligently. I don't want to see posts of three or four words. Instead of telling them that you like their work, tell them why you like their work. If you don't truly understand the in-and-out's of the image business, then you probably shouldn't be posting.

--------------------

Alright guys, opinion? I know it seems a bit weak with only a couple rules in each section, but I feel like I've covered it all for the most part.

I keep seeing, "Here at Chubbs" and nothing but chubbs exclusive rules. Am I wrong in thinking burters post

Keep in mind, your writing rules how YOU think they should be. Don't ask us what we want on it or how it should look. Just pretend your making your OWN rules page

means that we should act as if we are making rules to our own RPG, if we would ever make one? Because Im writing mine like that, though chubbs covers warning pretty well already so its going to be very similar.

*Double Post, Sorry*

Our rules we submit should look nice too, so shouldnt we have a uniform format?

For example Zarbon uses letters and 20 uses numbers. I like to use "-" dashes.

Furiza, are you just going to edit them when you put them together or what?

Edit: *Slaps head* Nutbunnies! We have unlimited editing for here. Woops.

I used a combination of all three, I am a visionary. Isay dashes for rules, because I just have numbers because I have more than one set of rules and I used the letters only once, because that was within a rule. But I like the dashes. I was thinking that earlier, though, that there should be a setformat, but Furiza can just edit it to his liking when he posts them together.

BTW, edit my bit to your liking since I am leaving now and won't be on until after are due date =\

Garlic we are making rules for chubbs. Think of it as that, just as that, the rules are out of date and they have asked you to update them.

I must be reading it wrong then. I didnt interpret it that way, I thought we were "making our own rules page".

Yeah, Garlic's right. But it's a rules page FOR chubbs, as far as I can tell. We make up new rules, or update old ones. At least that's the gist I got of it.
