Task 9
"Your Own Chubbs"

I like this task. I'm proud to pretend I'm a part of it. --Kami

After Vegeta Jr was brutally murdered last night, you have been granted ownership of Chubbs. It's time to make some changes!

Your job is:

--Make your own changes to Chubbs

It's THAT simple. It may not seem like alot of work but if you have the creative edge, you can make this idea work. You can add ANYTHING you want. You can put it in ANY format you want. News? Sure! Seperate pages? Go for it!

This your time to show what you can do. Change ANYTHING or EVERYTHING. Let's see how creative you really are.

48 hours, starting NOW!

Minor::

-Flash Intro: A simple flash introduction to draw newcomers into the site. It adds to the professional feel and general ?Bad ass-itude?. First impressions help.

-No waiting after death - We feel that the waiting for a week to RP after death is an obsolete and pointless rule that we would need to remove.

-News archive- In addition to the newer news posted there would be an archive of the older posts, so new members can see what happened in the past and old members can reminisce

Major:

-Table of Contents for Rules Page-

The rules page is very helpful, and has plenty of important information, but sometimes sorting through it may be a hassle. So in order to help relieve people from the stress of having to search through the entire page, it would be much easier if there was a table of contents to guide people. It would most likely be set up like this:

I. Board Rules
a. Minor Offense
b. Major Offense
c. Instant Banning
II. Training
III. Spars/Fights
IV. Money
V. Planets
VI. Mental Stats
VII. RPing Rules
a. Quests
b. Misc. Rules
VIII. Techniques
a. Powerups
b. Other Techs
c. Max Ki
IX. Alliances
a. Admin Powers
b. Mod Powers
-link to the join forum- Just a little something to make it easier on those trying to join our fine establishment.

-Quest Page Layout-

In order to enhance the RPing experience, the quests page will be made easier to help make quests easier to find and be more organized. First off, quests can be sorted by difficulty, rewards, and planet. Also, status' of the quests should also be posted to help avoid confusion such as "incomplete", "finished" and "in progress" followed by the name of the person who is doing/did the quest.

-Art Page-

We have some very lovely artists on this site, and even when they are gone and their posts sink into the depths beyond remembrance we want their work to live on. Exceptional Chubbs and DBZ related artwork would be placed on this page with kudos to who created it. There will, of course, be a special section for the many Sigs we use.

-User Compatible Site-

On the main page of the site will be an option in the navigation bar that says "Login". This will allow the player to log into their character and give a more in-depth way of browsing the main site. The nav bar can then include a Personal Stats page, which will extract the player's personal stats, items, alliance affiliation, etc from the roster onto its own page. It will also automatically log the character into his/her training page once he/she is logged in.

It can also coincide with the news archive. While a player is logged in, it will notify the player if there is a new unread news post. That way if the player has been inactive and there have been multiple news posts, he/she won't overlook any.

And, of course, logging into the main site will log the player into the boards, if possible.

-Debate Forum-

Filled with lots of debates, and mass debaters, this is where you can calmly discuss anything and everything.

Firstly, we'd like to say this Debate forum is a privilege. Any and all things talked about in the debate forum stay in the debate forum. Any hate you develop towards someones opinion on a matter, should never transfer into another forum. Swearing is allowed.Unless you are contributing, intellectually, to the conversation, do not post. All violators will be towed, I mean warned.Unnecessary flaming, or bashing, will also result in a warning.

- Rant Forum -

Feeling down? Life getting at yea? Some chick kick you in the balls while you were lying on the ground? Then come here and just let it out. People can share their thoughts and feelings about your situation and maybe they can help relieve that stress until next time.

The Rant Forum is for the use of a member to share what has been bugging them lately. The only restrictions on what you can rant about is another member, this is not a place to flame, and you can be warned for it. Other members can share their thoughts and feelings on your issues, maybe even give you a tissue.

-Custom Characters-

In this RPG we do allow Custom characters but there are a few basic rules that you must follow if you want a custom character.

* You need to be very creative when making this character
* We will not allow you to be a long lost relative of anyone
* If you are an existing member of the site the same stipulation of ?25 to all stats still occurs if you want to switch to a custom character
* Respect the ratio rules we have set forth

Lets go over these shall we. Creativity. What exactly do we mean by this? For one, it will be much harder to join as a custom character because of the wide variety that you have to choose from. We will need a Name obviously, race, (and as of this point we will not allow custom races, and moves. We also need a bio, because most of the characters in the show have some sort of back history that we know of. It might be small, but its there. Also, a description of what they look like and how they react. While all this needs to be extremely well done, the RP sample needs to be even better then the ones we ask for a regular character. Since it is your creation we ask for a superb RP.

The second one. We will not allow you to join as Fejita, the long lost twin brother of Bejita. This causes for too many people to look at the roster see their favorite character gone and just try and make up someone just like him. Its not fair to the veterans of the site who have been here since near the beginning to have someone join up as a character almost identical to theirs. They have worked hard for their spot and character, they don?t need this.

The third thing is quite self-explanatory.

The Ratio. We have this up so that the RPG does not get over run with Saiya-jins. We are happy to allow you to join up as a Saiya-jin, but we don't want there to be 5 Namek's 4 humans 10 Changlings/transformers and 10000 Saiya-jins. This is why we set up the ratio system. For every Saiya-jin that wants to join there needs to be a 5:1 ratio. Meaning that for every 5 Saiya-jin's there is 1 other race. So if there are 10 custome characters and 8 of them are of races other then Saiya-jin's one being a Saiya-jin you would need to either get two friends to join as a race other then Saiya-jin, or join as another race.

My biggest tiff with Magma is they didn't list anywhere what all their changes were.

I haven't decided my vote yet

I can't vote until I know what Magma changed, everything I've read so far matches chubbs stuff, and I'm not really motivated to read both sites to see what they changed...can this be fixed?

I am voting for Aggro. Magma had an amazingly creative idea, but the factor that hurt them was just the fact I couldn't find the changes they made, and then when I finally found it, it really didn't seem like that big of a deal.

As for Aggro, I dislike the custom characters thing, but kudos for trying to make it sound reasonable.

And 18, you can wait, if you want, but Reijin gets the final say so after he votes, I'm turning this in for results.

Ok, well, I voted for aggro. I was afraid I may have a problem because I absoluetely hate the idea of custom characters in a dbz RPG, but aside from that I really liked what they did.

Magma did an awesome job, but a few things bugged me. I could not find the changes, and if there were any, as Burter said, they weren't that big. I was disappointed that they didn't use KB's banner, and I was also bugged by the fact that that layout is from a current site of Tapions, banner included...but I'm a hard ass when it comes to layout lol.

You guys did an awesome job, but you should have given us a list of what changes were made.

By the way, I liked the quest changes Aggro made.

Meh, how many times and how explicitly can I say that right now I'm on a "vacation" from these things and still get held responsible for various jobs? Sad I told you you can handle this while I'm "off" at the moment.

I like the flash intro idea, but that would be annoying as crap to skip through for those that are regulars. However, it is not something I would dismiss without seeing some form of final product on.

The death wait rule... I'm rather uncaring on this one.

News deal, we are primarily confined within the restraints of the programs abilities on this.

Meh, it's an idea, but it'd be one that would basically turn it into Tapion's FAQ. On a sidenote though, I've got some ideas for some rewrites that I plan on working on that this is similar to.

Love the idea, however, the updating each quest by real time in who is doing what will be extremely time consuming, nearly as much as doing training by the old method. Also, a lot of quests would be locked up on "incomplete" and "in progress" when members grow either inactive or "busy" or other things.

Words cannot convey just how much I do not like this idea. To me, this is a severe opportunity for people to steal other's designs, and many people will either make something we end up hosting for them as their private image shack, or they'll make something, then dissappear and later someone will demand we remove it, or people will use this as their mirror to deviant art and try to show everyone their "elite skillz" regularly. I feel that this would be terrible for the site, even without bringing up just how much it could strain the servers. Keeping it on the boards to me is fine.

Love this idea through and through. Obviously I have begged for this many times, along with a coded shop, however, neither of the two people with coding ability either could, or would do this due to the massive amount of time required, and the fact that the "not broke don't fix" rule keeps coming up (Jeroen XD). Again, I love this, but coding has always limited just how perfect we can make things.

I don't care how many "don't spam/don't flame" rules we make, I can severly see Furiza abusing these. The first one will have some dumbshit posts involving "Let's Debate Just How Gay So and So Is" or something or perhaps some intellegent posts that severely demean someone in the process. I also highly contest the idea due to the number of religious and political problems this could cause, and the following animosity. As for the Rant Forum, again, I could see Furiza making some "I hat u all and u are stupid _____" post or something. We already know how this will work out. And I don't mean to point out him as the scapegoat, but he's an example of how many people here act. We already have seen Garlic Jr and some others as well.

We already know the problems that this could cause, however we aren't voting on what we agree on so much as how they are thought out. At least they attempted to cover our problem that we had found beforehand, however, I would have liked to see some form of stress placed on taking an old character over a custom because as that is said, there would never be a real character again. As for their ratio, I do not like it as yes, we know that most people would join as Saiyans before ever bothering to read the site and see that they are not the most powerful, but I'd still rather see it equaled out. Perhaps a "No one race can have more than 3 people more than any other race" so that there could be 12 Saiyan, 9 Changeling, 11 Namekian, 10 Human, 11 Android or something. Then if one of the Changelings quit, someone would have to fill in that Changeling spot before anyone else joined as a race that was at the 12 or higher number, meaning that no Saiyans could join, and only one Namekian and Android could join, or two Humans, until someone joined as that Changeling.

Anyways, on to the other team. As for what I saw... Originally when I saw that they were actually creating a site, I was hyped up on it. I was like "Yes, they are doing exactly what we hoped for!" but now I'm not so sure. For one, their Techs page has this serious issue with someone not having actually looked at the finished producted that lacked a closing underline tag before putting it up. I like that someone had skills to create a site, though it seems to have been a preexisting site made by someone else and just edited in. I barely saw any changes. I wish they had used KB's banner, as it rocked, and I liked the kiss ass attempt at putting a Sasuke/Reijin image into that banner. Props on that, you knew I was one for flattery when it came to my image. Planets... I loved the idea for the images, and the way they were layed out, however, I can't help but notice that there were only like four and the rest of the planets were ignored. The inclusion of the Geti Star shows that this was not for CDBZ, but rather a leftover from their other site. Otherwise good idea. Backgrounds, I like how fleshed out they were.

As for their rules, I saw few if any changes. I even saw VJ's email address still down there with our names listed for staff (a tell tale sign of someone stealing our site half the time we find them). I saw very few changes in most pages. The planets even still has the old site links in it. It seems like it was a great idea that died to an unfinished/unpolished product, however, time grew short. You went for it and it didn't work. I like the Dragonball changes. Finally, I loved the inclusion of a news post as if something actually did happen.

With all that said, I have to vote for Aggro. I feel that while not as "flashy" with the website, they were more polished and thoughtout changes.

I'm slightly disappointed. All the tech pages and rules pages and other pages we had them do in terms of content creation, and yet none of that was actually used for this. This was the perfect chance to "piece together" your final slide show to show to those waiting to buy your product, and yet it seemed that anything from before was forgotten, and instead our stuff was used. Sometimes you have to take things from before and piece them with something new to get the best effect. I mean, shit, I started noticing all the commercials for toys when I was a kid like that Nickolodean Gak and Sky Dancers and Doodle Bear coming on lately and was like "Wow, now I feel old". Same thing my parents said when Hoola Hoops and things were on.

In short, I vote Aggro. However, I don't want my vote to be the final vote on this, so I want to see how everyone else voted to see who wins.

EDIT: So far, from the active staff members, I see a 4-0 for Aggro. Guess that is all we need.

EDIT: Looking through the back work and see the reasons for thing slike the banner problem and all, and I really really liked HF17's suggestion for the techs page with the listing. However, like I said, I didn't vote based on the fact that they had difficulties with the site. It was one of those shoot high and you'll either strike gold or waste your time, and I love the extra effort, however what got them was just like Tapion said, we can't tell what changes were made unless we personally go compare everything, even when looking on their board.

I wanna add that my impression of the site after I read it was that it reminded me of all the rip off sites, that bottom part on rules with VJ's email bothered me...I really liked the site idea, but why bother doing it if you aren't going to make that many changes?
