I wanted to know if anyone had any nice little guitar songs I could start playing. I've gotten the basics down and right now I wanted to tweak around with what I can play before I find what I like, I've already played out all my CDs about a thousand times trying to mimic without the tabs... so now I'm breaking down and going into tab sites looking for stuff to play. Much appreciation.

I hate barre chords cause I can't keep all the notes down with one finger yet. =(
Yeah, go through and learn all your major/minor chords first, it'll give you a good grounding. If you want a place for songs, go to
http://www.powertabs.net. Download the program that's on there (Powertab) and search around the site for the song you want. There's just about every song you could possibly want there.

Same here, at one point I thought I convinced myself that my finger couldn't bend that far to cover them all. =/ Still working on it.
I've been using
http://www.mxtabs.net for what I've needed, isn't too bad since those who post tabs also occationally will post trails for beginners to go through.

Yes, yes it is. =o
I've got four different people teaching me in my grade level, all play different backgrounds of guitar so I'm getting a mixture of three types of rock. Two of them play the same kind so I guess that'll be less stressful on me to see where they're coming from.

And MC, I'm learning to play the FFVII Boss Battle Theme (Still More Fighting) if that counts.
Sexie... once I get my cords down I'm going to try my hand on converting Sephiroth's theme into a more guitar friendly set.

Sorry 16, I wanted to ask a question based on this post so instead of many a new one I'm going to 'dust off' this one real quick.
Alright I've been looking through the tabbing for a few of my old favorite songs and I can't help but wonder how to do a couple of them. The ones I have been wondering about is where two places are to be held but there are a couple lines in between... Here's what I mean.
Ex.
Song: Stairway to Heaven
e/----------5--7----------7--
B/-------5---------5---------
G/-----5--------------5------
D/--7----------6-------------
A/----------------------------
E/----------------------------
It's the seven on the e string and the six right below it on the D string. Not sure how to play it correctly, wondering if I hit them both along with the two strings in between... but yeah, problem right there. Thanks much if someone can give me a heads up on how to do this.

Ohh so putting a light touch on a string will mute it when struck with the pick? Or will that just null the note down a bit so it's softer opposed to if it had been pushed down fully against the board?

Ah yes, that's fine Goten. As long as you display common sense when adding on to a relatively new topic, it's ok.
I see no point in making an entirely new topic, when the old one fit just fine.
