Why Anakin went to the dark side was because of his dreams that made him doubt things and believe his wife would die, to save her he was persuaded to learn the dark side. So what bugs me is that if he never had those dreams of his wife dying then he would have still stayed loyal to the Jedi and not become a Sith, right? Or did Palpatine place the dreams in Anakins mind? Because by all reckoning he had dreams of a future that would have never happened but because of those dreams they did happen.
I think then this is called a paradox or something although im not sure.

If I wasn't lazy, I'd quote Yoda from Ep5...
But the dream's where like what Luke saw in his training. The future is constantly in motion. I mean, Padme COULD have died if he didn't stray to the dark side. But then again, she COULD have not died. You get what I'm saying?

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction? Every event that takes place changes the future, deciding between stepping on a bug and not stepping on a bug could drastically change the future that you may or may not die at 60 years old (random example), or it may have a very little effect like you getting a bee sting or not. This is why people have the need for their to be a purpose for everything. Everything that you choose to do or not do can drastically alter your future, which means that many things can lead to the same outcome. (2+2=4; 6-2=4; 2x2=4; etc.)

I hated the way they changed scenes. Like a friggin crap ass music video, or how some nubs make their websites change with effects. I hated that soooo much. It justy didn't look professional.
I liked the movie, much better than the other two, I hated the other two. Now I want to watch the old movies lol.
The movie did feel rushed, but it was still good. I wanted to cry a few times XD.
And of course...My bf and his friend just had to wear these. -.-
Theres also a picture in yesterdays paper of a guy fuly dressed on Darth Vadar custome sitting on a bus bench reaching the paper, his legs are crossed too...lol.

They've used those scene changes since the original Star Wars, those are classic! It's supposed to look like that! It's all smooth and just glides into the next thing...classic.

Although the thread is now two days old, I have discovered what may be a plot flaw. In the end, Padme dies right after child birth. However, in Return of the Jedi, Luke asks Leia, "Do you remember our mother?" She then replies, "Yes, but she was always sad." How could Leia have had any contact with their mother if she died right after they were born? O_o

Because they made that movie 20 years ago without the thought of making prequils?
It's a movie...if people keep overanalyizing it (like I know they will until the end of time) then it becomes less enjoyable.
Thats why I was slightly agitated to go see it opening night along with the rest of the hardcore fans - they can't just seem to let it be a movie to enjoy, they have to pick it apart in the plot and the lore of the series. If you had a big cinemaphile there he would be popping a boner over some shots, I suppose it's just how some people are with movies. Personally I'd like to watch it, enjoy it, not have people clap during it (seriously, it's not like Yoda can hear you) Laughing and whatnot is fine, but when it disrupts other people that's just rude.
Don't get me wrong - I now my fair share of Star Wars trivia, but sheesh.
BTW Bardock, I'm not picking on you.

Well, the first one may be a flaw ( and one thats been stated elswere) but while Yoda wasnt Old Bens master he more than likely did train him when he was a youngling.

I thought it was funny that in all his effort to save Padme from his vision he ended up bringing it to life. =o
Like that story where the guy is told by a fortune teller that he's to be assassinated in the market. So he leaves to another town only to find that it was there he has a date with death.

That reminds me of another such story. A guy had a dream that he had a car crash. Beacuse he was so scared, he didnt leave the house. Then a tree fell onto his house, thus killing him.
But when it comes to fate, I have the same opinion as the one in Terminator 2: There is no fate, just the one we make ourselves. Those arent the exact words, but you get my meaning.
Yeah, the prequel and the original movies are well connected. Allthough there are a few exceptions (Padme dies in III, allthough in the originals the princess talks about her mother) but thats just for those who analyse the movies carefully. Generally, I think the prequel is well connected.
One of the things that bother me is the whole "I HATE YOU!" deal. Why would Anakin hate Obi-Wan? Sure, Anakin did turn to the dark side, but Obi-wan did nothing to prevent him for acheiving his goal. True, Obi-Wan did cause Anakin a lot of agony (the end of the lightsaber fight), I still think this just doesnt make sence.
Yeah, I loved the fact that when I watched A new hope, Obi-Wan was talking about Anakin and the Clone Wars. Its like Lucas was making a prequel during that time! I just dont understand why it took him so long.

He blamed Obi for turning Padme away from him. Plus he was pretty much consumed by anger at that time so he didnt need much of a reason.

I wouldn't hate anybody just 'cause they were the cause for limbs. . .going away. There just isn't the real emotion if that is the only real thing.

there is such a thing as over-analyzation.
Truer words have not yet been spoken here.
I saw Ep. II on TV, and it made more sense to me why Anakin was such an ass...he was corrupt and blah blah blah blah.

Sidious never mastered his masters control over life though, if indeed he was telling the truth and not saying that to get Anakin to join him. (though the emporer was always concerned with his own mortality and finding ways to prevent it i.e clones)
Yoda is not plagus. He... just isnt.

Its an interesting theory.
Excuse me while I argue with myself, point conter point like I always do.
Of all the women to have your force baby with, why shmi on an (up to that point in history) insignifigant planet, and then never return to retrieve him. He couldnt have known a Jedi would wind up on that backwater planet and take him.
But.
The backwater planet was Hut controlled. That means no force sensitive babys go to the jedi order like thier supposed to. He could have wanted Ani to go into jedi training late to make it easier to turn him. Then somehow steer a Jedi who doesnt care much for the councils laws (Qui-Gon) to take him in. Which he had a direct hand in causing the Naboo conflict that lead them there in the movie.
But.
He could of had someone close to him have it and raise the boy to evil from birth
So I think that the whole thing is possible, but needlessly complicated and unrealistic even for sci-fi.

Furiza, what he was saying was the point that they made of Plagus being able to create life. Force concieved life. No male needed, just the force. According to the "theory" which is highly doubtful at best (as Slug said), Plagus was told to be able to manipulate the force on such a level that he could essentially cause the midichlorians in one's body to spontaneously begin the process of life on its own, similar to when people randomly spontaneously combust into flame for no reason.
All it would take would be for him to travel to Tatooine in his little hood, roll up wit his rims and hit dat shit. I mean, err. Show up on Tatooine with the hooded cloak, and use the Force to woo her to sleep. Then he simply uses his ability, placing his hands on her stomach, and inspires life through her. That's how something like that could work.
By no means do I believe that true, but it is possible through the way it was explained, and I can see people reaching that theory. Secondly, I feel that Plagus was completely made up by Sidious in order to bring Ani to the darkside. Sith engage in lies as a means of accomplishing their goals. Over the course of the movie, Ani himself began lying a lot to Padme. Disregarding where he believed about the Jedi turning on him parts, I am referring to him blatantly lying to her about multiple things while in her chambers (which I don't see how noone seemed to notice him spending all those nights there and then poof she's pregnant, and no other guys hang around her).
Another reason Plagus probably never existed: Sideous doesn't have the control over life and death, and yet the movie stated that Sideous "was" that apprentice. Sideous lied about knowing how to do this, and never intended to save Padme.
On to Yoda... I don't see him being a Sith Lord regardless, as even if he was a reformed Sith, which I highly doubt, I am very sure that Sideous would make a point of mentioning it in order to gain the open hand in any discussion with Anakin. "Yoda himself was once a Sith..." The impact of such a statement would throw him over the edge right there. Yoda being a Sith would be like trying to claim that the Pope was once a Nazi. Well... shit... Ok, like claiming that Mother Theresa was a downtown prostitute.

In "Labyrinth of Evil" Dooku mentions a certain "Darth Plagueis" being Sidious's master. . =o

He was once an apprentice. To Plagueis it is assumed from the book. Whether his former master had the life giving powers who knows. Labyrinth of Evil cant really be condsidered cannon so one could still argue him ever existing I suppose.

Well. Sidious says Plagy taught his apprentice every thing he knows at the first mention of him. Then Sidious says after Anakin submits to him 'to cheat death is a power only one has achieved.' Hes double talking like the sith he is. Its possible He was Plagueis's but could not learn his master's control over life, or he could have lied that Plagueis never passed it on. I conisder the more likely truth to be after Anakin becoming Vader ; he has less reason to lie then. Who knows, though? Who says anyone ever learned to cheat death? maybe he is still lieing, giving Vader something to work towards and keep him loyal.
