The heat from the shower expands the gas and also lifts it higher and your nose is higher.

I hate it =(

Mine wasn't scientific, it was common sense. o_o


Because heat expands, I learned that a long time ago and obviously, if the gas (which is usually methane when it comes to farts) is heated it will expand. Also, when we were first graders and learning of fire safety, we learned that heat rises so if the fart is heated from the steam of the water, it will rise too.

But when I fart in the shower I pull open the curtain or open the door a little bit and stick my head out and breathe because my farts smell BAD.

Well, I seem to remember two, but oh well. There are multiple people on this site with two warnings, but they may have, you know, adapted to how this site works since then, but I guess that possibility could have never gone through your mind.
