MC Chris came to Eugene and played a show and then people at the show went and saw Star Wars with him (cause it came out that night)

I watched the movie today. I went in expecting a grand endpoint (or rather, middlepoint) to the beautiful Star Wars series. Boy was I disappointed.

One, the violence was a bit much. I knew it was going to be rather violent. I had figured out that Anakin would have to (SPOILER!)kill the children(END SPOILER!). But having the bodies strewn everywhere was too much. The end was too much as well. Star Wars seems to have a thing with decapitation.

Two, the dialogue was crap. I found myself laughing at the movie, just from the sheer cheesyness of it all. Had I not known that it was a part of one of the greatest series of all time, I probably would've laughed my way all through the movie. It is a very easy movie to make fun of, just like Spiderman 2 was.

Three, it was too long. Simply put. Just like Return of the King, Lucas did not seem to know when to end the final lightsaber duel (or any of the lightsaber duels, for that matter).

Four, and finally, it did not feel like a Star Wars movie when it was all done with. After every other Star Wars movie (even II), I had a certain feeling inside reminding me of this wonderful world. After this, I just felt empty and shallow.

As a movie, it is decent, though I certainly would not watch it again. As a Star Wars movie, it is horrible. It ranks just above Episode II, which I still consider to be the worst.

After all of the things I just saw, somehow Episodes IV, V, and VI feel detracted from. It seems like Episode III sucked some of the fun out of those last three episodes. I know I won't enjoy them as much anymore. It's a shame that the greatest series in movie history (outside of LOTR) had to end on such a sour and dissonant note.

I thought III felt more like the orgional trilogy than the previous two. The cheesy dialouge... to me that is starwars. The origional was just as cheesy in my opinion.

Edit: Less hand loss would make the movie a little more enjoyable to me. Wound them in some other way, jeez.

I dunno, it didn't leave the same taste. One and Two both did that, but even John Williams' couldn't save this one.

Sad thing is, this will probably be the only Star Wars movie I won't own.

I admit.. I was attempting to watch it a second time.. But it kinda failed to me about 30mins in to it. I just turned it off. Simple as..

So one or another, I wanna watch it again, but I doubt I'll be able to.. Fully...

Shadows of the Empire was a story written, I believe originally unofficially, to explain the gap left between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Obviously Han is still frozen, so there has to be a new rascal to take his place, eh? Meet Dash. Dash is pretty much another Han Solo.

Basically, this guy named Xizor gets shit going down, and Dash kicks his butt.

It was a comic and a video game, and I've only played the video game, so I can't give you an official story there. But in the game, Dash kills IG-87 (or whatever that robot bounty hunter was). Very cool.

I just saw the movie on Friday but was gone yesterday for family stuff and so let me tell you...the movie was good but the acting sucked my ass off. This was not a movie based on acting at all. I enjoyed it overall though.

They are supposed to be coming out with 2 new star wars shows. One is going to be a half hour long version of the clone wars shorts shown on Cartoon Network and the other is going to be about events between III and IV, but it isnt going to have any of the major movie characters, except possibly in cameos.

Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon is already out and the DVDs are out. I've only seen a few episodes.

They were excellent. The Jedi were doing all of the tricks you thought they should be doing in the movies. It was actually quite good.
