Krillin's FFX Rant
#1
OMFG. How in God's name does Nimrook have like 18 Catching at Level 5, when Keepa has like 6 Catching at Level 6? How in fuck's name does the "random shitness" of the game always favor the CPU, and never fucking favor me? How the hell do I manage to get off three shots, each over Nimrook's Catching by 3 or 4, and still have them blocked or caught every time?

Why the fuck does Square screw me over when I'm trying to get the last Overdrive for Wakka (a useless one, btw, in comparison to Attack Reels)?

...

Ahem. Excuse the rant, but I needed to get that out of my system. FFX rocks, but Blitzball is rigged/sucks.

FFX is alright, they could have done a lot better but I was entertain for a few days.

But, Blitzball is fun and so easy. It doesn't matter, just get Tidus the Jecht Shot or use Sphere Shot and you can goal all you need. Well, at least you could for me...

I hated FFVIII, but I'll play it again some other time. I'm holding out hope that I just didn't get far enough to make the game fun.

Anyway, back to the important thing (me). Tidus had both Sphere Shot and Jecht Shot. I used Jecht Shot three times, and Sphere Shot once, and yet, Nimrook blocked it all.

Oh well. My friend's gonna let me borrow X-box, KOTOR 1, Halo 1 and 2. It all evens out in the end. Big Grin

My Blitzball team's played through five seasons and has lost twice. =\

Granted, only three players are actually from Besaid, now. And the whole game is basically all Tidus. (I try to pass to Wakka so he can score, but, let's face it; he sucks in comparison)

Actually, I'm almost convinced I should pick it up again.

BTW, I wish there was an easier way to unlock the Masamune's powers. =(

I had understood it differently than the way you're supposed to do it, so I spent a few days catching things, but they were all wrong. =\

Oh, well. Yuna's Holy still does, like, 60,000 damage on pretty much everything.

FFX > FFVI > FFIX > FFVII > FFVIII

In my ever so humble opinion.

FFIX was tons of fun. It's a shame I didn't get to finish it. But the story of FFX, and the wonderful classicness of FFVI win over it.

For me, anyway.

The only thing I can possibly foresee someone NOT liking about FFIX is the fact that one of the male villains wears a way-too-small thong.

FFVI and FFX are the best. Although FFVI is a bit better in my opinion.

I never liked FFIX. <.<
FFVII was good, but not great. Never really played FFVIII. *Shrug*

Okay, so because YOU don't like it means it's bad?

FFIX pwned. It was totally original, unique, and everything made logic sense, which you can't say for any other final fantasy, INCLUDING FFX/2

X/X-2 sucked story wise. I played & owned them for the graphic's.

7 is personally my fav, graphics where crappy, but the story I thought was hard core.

8 I despised with a passion. It seemed to contain to many twists & turns in alot of story lines.

9 was good, graphicly pleasing on the eye, story had jsut the right ammount of twists, but I personally didn't like it. But it is my second fav FF.

Nuff said >.>

It's fantasy. It doesn't have to make sense. The FFX story is my absolute favorite, period.

My least favorite story has honestly got to be FFVII. Before you all (or, at least, Janemba) cry out in bloody horror, let me accentuate a few key points.

1) The main character is a schoolgirl. OMG, I'm l13k having wick3d seizures! Not cool.

2) The main villain, though awesome, didn't really have any background to him. While you saw Anakin as a cute little kiddy, become an emotional teenager, THEN snap, you only see Sephy snap. All there is about him before hand is that short little Nibelheim sequence, which is really dry and boring.

3) The coolest character in that entire thing dies. Why didn't Cloud just whip out a Phoenix Down?

4) The graphics suck. I mean, they're horrible. The FMV's are rather spectacular, considering the Playstation capabilities and how early the game was made. But seeing the heros as Lego characters for half the time isn't too pleasing.

5) Cait Sith and Yuffie are the gaey. Well, Yuffie is ok. She can attack with origami, so I guess she's ok. But Cait Sith is the gaey.

Now, for the cool points.

1) Vincent. 'Nuff said.

2) I must say, I like the Turks, Shinra, and the whole Mako idea. It was solid, and provided a cool background for this entire thing.

3) Midgar was pretty spiffy.

4) Cid.

5) I personally loved the Materia system. Downright adored it. It was complex enough to allow for all sorts of combinations and cool ideas, yet was simplistic enough to step into from the get-go.

And that's pretty much it. FFVII is one of my most favorite games of all time, and I would play it again in a heartbeat. But the others (minus FFVIII) are better.

X seemed to obvious. You knew from the start some thign was gonna happen majorly involving Tidus, & it introduced the charecters in a shitty manner. I mean.. Wow.. If you really liked that story line, go play some thing jsut as straight forward.. Like a yo-yo >.>

FFX gets by on graphics. That's it. The story is really original and fun, but without the graphics it would suck horribly.

That said, I do enjoy the game, but let's face it, if it had average FF graphics it wouldn't be so popular

EDIT:

XD!!!!!!!! Jan wins on the yo-yo reference

Seven was too hard for me, to be honest. I beat it after awhile but I found the difficulty randomly jumped up way too high at what point. I was pwning and then all of sudden, I had to level up like 5 spots to stand a chance.

But I still beat it ^_^

Square seems to like to do that. One of the Seymour fights in FFX is insanely hard, forcing me (for the first time in the game) to actually level up my characters in the Sphere Grid. Ursula in Kingdom Hearts is almost too friggin' hard, easily the hardest boss in the whole game (and perhaps any Square game I've played).

Of course, this is only including standard bosses. Nemesis, Emerald and Ruby Weapon, and those types of things don't count.

Anakin > Sephiroth

He was unstable, yet they showed the emotion of it all. I know FFVII can't be blamed for it, since they weren't concentrating on Sephiroth's life, like the first three Star Wars were. But still, Anakin is cooler than Sephy.
