Just got home and I'm now off for the day b/c my gf and I got run off the interstate on the way to work today, so they might total out her car due to frame damage. Which blows because her car was very nice. Undecided

We are completely fine though, just annoyed from those fucking airbags.

And now my entire family is coming and so is hers to harass us.

I would be to, but the important thing is that you and your girlfriend are ok and live to see another day, you can always get another car, or have it fixed...life is to short to stay mad ^_^ instead take her in your arms and gib her tum lub lub. *blows nose*

Man, freakin' headache...

Anyways, we'll manage.. just a bit depressed that the good car of the two we have is probably going to be considered totaled if there is even the slightest frame damage...

Also, someone told me that Six Flags Over Georgia is currently Six Flags Under Water due to the hurricanes, and that some of the rides might be removed due to the damage. Guess that helps..

Yeah, don't knock air bags.

My cousin did some dumb shit with a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am... let's just say the air bags were the deciding factor between life and death.

And Reijin; frame repair is, sadly, an incredibly arduous and expensive task. It's usually much cheaper to write the vehicle off and pay it's value than it is to repair them, especially on newer autos and most imports, as they're simply built cheaper than they were back in the day, and thus the stress placed on it is too much to handle. =/

But yeah, glad you guys are okay; that sucks hard. But tell me, did you actually hit anything, or were you simply run into a ditch? Because if it's the latter, and the body seems okay for the most part, chances are the frame survived too, as it's tougher than the body is any day.

Nah, we took out one of those little three inch diameter interstate trees they have near the guard rails. It bounced us back away and kept us from hitting the rail, but nearly flung us back out into traffic. We took the whole damn thing down.

Oh. Damn. So that means the front end is obliterated, huh?

Did you crack the radiator? You should make a thorough check, since many frontal collisions damage the rad enough to cause it to leak coolant. You do not want to drive that car if that's happening.

tow truck took it. really, the front was perfectly fine. it was the side that had some scrapes, and the sideview mirror was broken off by the tree we scraped by. The wheel was broken in half and there was a dent, but the rest was fine. we didn't try to open the hood though, so we don't know. Windshield was shattered, but only because of the airbag deplying and pushing that plastic piece up into it (which has thoroughly pissed me off.)
