The PS3 guys made a tech demo that was the Intro movie of FF7 on the PS3 to show what it would look like and show off their hardware ( I saw this on G4) It looked damn sexy, but I think they simply used a well known backdrop, in this case a brief snippit of the world of FF7 to show off the capabilities.

And then there is the whole Advent Children thing (I've had the trailer on my comp for so long =P )

Actually, Kami you are part right, Square was infact in line for production of the game for PS3 but they have halted production on the game since sony put pressure on them to discontinue the game. See as I heard it Sony was scared that the Advent game would become like halo has to the xbox and if that was the case people would only buy their system for the use of that one game....wierd politics...but if the movie does extremely well after the release of PS3 I heard production on the game is supposed to restart.

Apparently instead of attempting to compete with us on hardware and all, they plan to simply derail the train before it gets going by forcing people to choose between our system and the new Halo game. Could spell trouble for us. People might not even buy our system now so that they can instead get Halo 3... They'll be playing that thing for months to come after too... Any suggestions on what we can do to get people to actually get our system?"

New Marketing Guy - "Well, we could always launch the system with that new Final Fantasy VII game. It is a hell of a lot bigger of a franchise than Halo, and is fairly old school. I'm sure we would sell out on systems that day despite Halo 3 attempting to kill it. Our only problem might be that Production might not be able to get enough systems made by release date, haha."

Older Marketing Guy - "... Are you fucking retarded? Look, I know you are new here, but what kind of line of thinking is that? Launch the system with a stellar game that could prevent Halo 3 from completely knocking our race off the track before we even started and in turn cause the masses to buy our system instead of XBOX 360? Granted, it might cause people to ditch Halo and spend their money on our system instead, but then we have a global phenomenom that supercedes that of the current Halo generation... Hell, people might buy our system exclusively to play FFVII-2 and never bother to buy any other games we have planned. Don't worry, I'm sure that despite the low initial sales of the system and the ensuing lack of interest that will follow, that we'll beat them in the end through just the sheer amount of good quality games over time. I mean, who buys an XBOX for anything other than Halo anyways?"

New Marketing Guy - "But sir, these sales charts show that despite people only purchasing the XBOX and Halo and Halo2, and not much else, they are still far ahead of our system on sales even with all of our great games. Look at this track record. I'm telling you, I think that jumping on the bandwagon is the best-"

Older Marketing Guy - "Nonsense! I'll hear nothing more on it. Look at Nintendo! They went their completely opposite direction and have released hundreds of mediocre games rather than a few stellar ones, and they've proven that 20 games of 1.5 are worth a hell of a lot more than 2 games worth 10. Nintendo has raised the bar again, and dammit, we have to beat that. ONWARD! I have a new launch of the next six Tomb Raider games planned, complete with action figures. We still have to adjust the exact growth chart of her chest over the next few installments, but and then worry about throwing in some storyline or something, but the next six Tomb Raiders will be selling like hotcakes. And just when they realize that there is nothing more to the series than poon, we'll veer them off towards the next three Spyro games. Get this... Spyro: Dragonfly, Spyro: DragonballZ, and Spyro: [Insert Snazzy Dragon Joke Here]. We'll line them up with Nintendo's next 4 Zelda games."

New Marketing Guy - "Meanwhile we'll make a grand total of 50,000 off of our systems and crap games by ramming them out on the market until people's grandparents accidently pick up the game through sheer numbers-"

Older Marketing Guy - "Exactly! I recommend you for promotion!"

New Marketing Guy - "-while Microsoft makes 100,000 alone off of their copies of Halo 3 and uses the money from their other games as spare change leaving us in the dust just like last year for us and... whatever the hell Nintendo is doing."

Older Marketing Guy - "You're fired!"

New Marketing Guy - "To hell with this, I quit. I'm headed to Microsoft."

Head Worker - "We plan on launching our Revolution with over fourty different colors, using the logo 'Gotta Catch'em All'. We also have about sixty different Pokemon adorned controllers we plan on releasing, including our new Togepi Edition Super Special system to coincide with our default Super Saiyan 4 Pikachu Edition launch. Chrono Brake is supposedly and 4th game in the Chrono series. As of right now, absolutly nothing is confirmed about the game. Square has yet to even officialy announce it. Rumors for it started when, on December 5, 2001, Square registered the tradmarks for the names "Chrono Break" in the US and "Chrono Brake" in Japan. As of January 10, 2004 the game publisher let go of it's US trademark for the name "Chrono Break". It would now seem very unlikely that they are still planning on making the game. Interestingly though, they're still holding on to their Japanese trademark for the name "Chrono Brake".

I wanted to take pictures of the massive amounts of advertisement for the FFVII: AC they are doing in the Mall here in Japan. The posters and flyers are literally "everwhere" in the mall. "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" release date on DVD is September 14th. It's safe to say that i'ma skip lunch to drive to the mall and pick myself up one of the Limited Editions that's gonna come out with it (it's $250 which comes with a shit load of stuff) on that same day. English Subtitles or not, ima still buy that shit.
