Does not having any prior knowledge of Firefly ruin the movie?

I think Serenity looks cool, but I don't know anything about Firefly.

I never saw the show and I watched the movie (I think I was at the first showing... maybe) and I loved it. It's a great movie and if you're a fan of Joss's work, you'll love it. I'm a humongous buffy fan, so I found it fantastic.

My dad got me into the show Firefly, and I loved it. When I saw the previews the first time I was like "ORGASM! Hot chick with hot moves w00tw00tw00t!!!" And boy was I right. This movie was sexy. If you don't watch the show you can get confused easily, but it had humor, actions, romance, and it rocked. I can't believe the killed the guy =( But somebody had to die. Who died, I wont tell, but the person did die. Good movie.

Yeah, I was surprised. It was kick ass. Reavers were creepy...I hadn't seen them on the show closely so it was cool.
