?Watch yourselves,? warned Cell as they entered another chamber, this one complete with a two-hundred yard hallway bathed in white fluorescent light. ?The power is coming back. I wouldn?t be surprised if the automated defenses started-- UGHN!? The monster never got a chance to finish his sentence.

Bojack, who happened to be walking directly behind the massive Cell, was suddenly showered in the creature?s oily lavender blood, the monster taking a knee as a chunk of meat and bone was torn from his rib cage, sending flecks of flesh every which way. Soon thereafter, a deafening boom! was heard, reverberating through the long, cavernous hallway that they?d just entered. The space pirate quickly snatched the massive Cell underneath the arms and dragged him to cover in an alcove near the door, Bra and Trunks dashing over to the opposite side of the room.

?What the shit!?? cried the cyan haired halfling, unable to look away from the gaping wound which had savagely mutilated the android?s torso, ?That sounded like a rifle shot!?

The muscular pirate - complete with cigar - cautiously leaned his head past the edge of the wall he?d pressed himself against, careful to avoid exposing any part of him he didn?t have to.

?Yep.? he confirmed, suddenly realizing just how absurdly long the hallway was, ?Just as I thought. The automated guns are sniper rifles. Looks like they?ve got power.? as he finished the observation, two red laser sights came to life in an instant, quickly and efficiently searching for their next target.

?No shit, Sherlock.? Bra retorted, unable to contain her obvious frustration, ?What the hell do we do now??

Cell groaned against his will, firmly clenching his teeth to mute the sounds he made as he fought against the searing anguish caused by the massive, ki-infused bullet. Slowly, his remarkable healing properties manifested themselves, and the princess remarked that the creature was quickly able to regulate his breathing.

?Trunks...? the younger of the two children of Vegeta began, her tone clearly apprehensive, ?I... do you... have any ideas?? her quizzical eyes scanned over her brother?s facial features for a moment. He?d become so much older... so much colder? His attitude was one of an endearing child, but his eyes shone with some kind of hidden horror.

?I dunno. But even if we did, you guys would probably just disagree again, anyway.? the eldest hybrid quipped, setting the edge of his blade onto the floor.

?To be fair, Trunks... kicking a nuclear bomb... isn?t usually the brightest thing to do.? Bra replied, glancing over again at Cell, whose flesh was filling in the immense void made by the powerful ammunition.

?Raditzu said it was the best idea, remember!?? the lavender haired teen retorted, his face taking an uncharacteristically serious expression, one which the heiress had not before witnessed. Bra sighed loudly. Trunks was definitely lucky, since near anyone would surely have faced the brunt of the girl?s notorious temper by now.

?Okay... fine. So, you don?t have any ideas how to fight a bunch of ki rifles on the other side of the longest fucking hallway in the world, right?? she clarified.

?Right.? her older brother announced, giving an authoritative ?thumbs up? in confirmation. The girl raised an eyebrow, her eyes darting to the other side of the room again. The black speckled monster began to climb to his feet, his visage painted with a kind of loathing which effectively conveyed his extraordinary displeasure at being the victim of yet another ridiculous trap.

?So, any ideas on how to not wind up like the big green fella??? the ader called to the two on the other side of the room, his back still pressed firmly against the cold metallic substance. It was the same material as the rest of the base, immune to Trunks? capability to manipulate metals. Neither of the two demi saiyans made any effort to reply. Bra carefully stood up, suddenly too preoccupied to respond. The girl?s sibling had presumably ignored the question or had simply lost interest in the direction of the conversation.

The cyan haired warrior leapt up, planting her toes onto to wall just above Trunks, and pushed off, launching across the hallway. The twin red dots chased her blurring form for a moment, until the girl became obscured by the wall on Cell and Bojack?s side. She flipped forward, crashing feet-first into the far wall, before softly hopping back onto the floor.

?Awesome!! The guns can?t track me fast enough to shoot!? Bra exclaimed. The steely eyed pirate formed a confident kind of half-grin, which allowed him the benefit of continually being able to savor his tragically depleted smoke.

The intimidating genetic amalgamation grunted. ?For now.? he grimly stated, crossing his thick arms before his broad chest, a far cry from the frail-looking insect he once was. The child cocked her head, causing her hair to sway along with her movements.

?What d?you mean?? Bojack inquired before the girl could, to which she promptly answered with a feminine growl of dissatisfaction at the interruption.

?They may not be able to track you while you run across the hallway, but they will catch up to you when you actually start running down toward them.? Cell elaborated, ?And don?t bring up your cloaking device again. Most motion detectors run with infrared.?

?Brim, you asshole. If you can hear me... fuck you.? the aristocratic youth snarled, staring icily at the two fighters she now stood next to, ?Okay, then. What do we - wait!!?

The young princess fixed her hair band for a moment, and then boldly stepped directly into the center of the corridor, completely exposing herself to the twin rifles. She watched as the two glaring crimson dots rushed up her petite frame, halting instantly on the side of her head. The 12-year-old girl turned her head to the right, which allowed her to peer down the outrageously long hall. After a moment?s hesitation, she raised her hand out at her side, so her palm faced the guns which the hybrid could not yet see.

?Kid-!! What the hell are you-? the ader?s protests were drowned out as Bra curtly interrupted him.

?Kinetic Light!!? she thundered as forcefully as her voice allowed, while a captivating wall of raw energy coalesced between her and the far end of the corridor. The immense rounds slammed into the girl?s shield, glancing off with a series of sharp pangs!! Thunderous eruptions of gunfire could be heard, the sound waves hitting the half-blood?s ears moments after the rifles had actually fired. Bra?s shield continually shifted hues in a seemingly infinite combination of colors, following no discernable pattern, while bullets continued to pelt the unyielding manifestation of energy.

?Bra!! Behind you!!? came a voice from the room behind her. Undoubtedly Cell?s. An explosion of gunfire roared from the same direction, and the girl immediately cringed, her muscles becoming tense at the thought of being struck by one of the unreasonably powerful rounds, but nothing happened save for the sound of a bullet ricocheting off of metal.

?...Wha?? the young heiress was hardly audible, her eyes wide with a lack of understanding. Slowly, deliberately, she turned to see Trunks facing away from her, his sword held across himself. She blinked, ?You... you blocked the bullet for me?? The lavender haired teen swiftly raked his blade across the air once again, connecting with another ki-infused projectile.

?Sure did!? he replied, hurling a ball of energy at the rifle which had extended from the ceiling behind Bra. The ki collided with the powerful long-range weapon, tearing it to shreds with a shower of sparks and flames.

?Stay close!!? the cyan haired girl commanded, sprinting forward while holding her hand in front of her, fighting to maintain the kinetic light?s energy against the withering gun blasts which continually smashed into it. Trunks ran, hunched over in order to keep his head behind the shield, holding his blade over his shoulder as he dashed behind the girl clothed in red. Bra formed a deadly blade of pure energy in her free hand, ignoring the buzz saw whine it began to emit as the kienzan dagger spun faster and faster, ?You take the left one! I got the right one!!?

?Uoryaaaa!!? the eldest halfling roared, leaping up as they neared the weaponry. The cyan haired girl?s defensive energy faded away as she, too, launched herself upward, pulling her dagger back before viciously slashing forth, in time to a furious whine of the blade. Trunks swung his katchin sword almost simultaneously, and the twin sniper rifles exploded in tandem. Both siblings fell to one knee, holding their respective blades out to their sides with one hand on the floor. Bra was the first to notice, and giggled shortly, allowing her dagger to flash out of existence before rising to her feet. She watched as her older brother did the same, before the two of them turned and awaited the arrival of their other two comrades. Cell and Bojack swiftly flew through the elongated corridor, coming to a halt close enough to speak at comfortable volume.

?Not bad, sweet-? the ader stopped as the icy glare of the red clothed girl met his gaze. He held his tongue, pausing to take a pull on what was left of his cigar, ?We got a clue to search for, right kid??

?Yeah. I wonder what fantastic trap we get to run into next time.? she scoffed, unable to hide her intense frustration any longer. Brim?s constant manipulation of the girl?s surroundings infuriated her to no end, and even more aggravating was that it could not be helped.

?I suggest we proceed more carefully this time.? Cell replied, his face screwing into one of disgust, ?I?d rather not have half my body ripped out again.?

?Serves you right, you sick fuck!? Bra retorted, whirling about on the android, a familiar kind of fury dancing in her eyes.

?What?? he managed to question before a gloved fist was driven into his gut, brutally forcing the air from his lungs. Another fist cracked across his jaw, launching him sharply into the wall with a mighty crash, which echoed up and down the phenomenally lengthy corridor. Sticky, purple blood dribbled down the monster?s chin as he leaned heavily against the cold metal, violently shaking the stars out.

?Gohan was my friend!!? the cyan haired girl venomously hissed, reveling in the immense wave of relief which had finally washed over her, releasing much of the tension and frustration she had built up since Cell?s shockingly brutal comment.

?It?s about time you were put in your place, girl!!? bellowed the mighty artificial horror, hurling a massive fist at the slender halfling, who swiftly caught the monstrosity?s forearm, halting the attack prematurely. Bra?s face collapsed into a scowl once more as her knee made it?s way deep into the creature?s stomach. The young princess refrained from removing her knee for a moment, looking the creation of Doctor Gero over for a moment, still firmly grasping his arm. Cell?s mouth was open, most likely from a mix of shock and pain. She hoped it was mostly pain, before sharply twisting the bio-android?s arm, eliciting a grunt of anguish from her impromptu adversary.

?Bra... it?s too late now. Nothing you do can change that now. So both of you quit yer bitchin?. We got a clue to find, and I sure as hell ain?t gonna play referee to you morons.? the ader finished reprimanding the two warriors by sliding his cigar from one side of his mouth to the other. The girl nodded, removing her knee from the creature?s gut and planting her foot on the floor. She released her grasp on Cell?s arm, pushing him into the far wall with her free hand.

Retard.

?Good.? Bojack stated. The bio-android seemed to be literally quaking with rage, while Trunks was as unreadable as usual. Bra stood at the ready, preparing for whatever was to happen next.

?Uh?? Moaned Trunks. ?Did anyone get the number on that truck?? The hybrid painfully rolled himself onto his stomach in an effort to get into a position where he?d be able to stand up; however, it wouldn?t work out very well because the pocket of space afforded to him through his metal binding ability turned out to be barely bigger then a coffin. So, after slamming the back of his head against the Katchin metal protecting him from being buried alive, Trunks began formulating a plan to get out of his current predicament.

?Hmm??

Trunks rapped his fingers against the stony rubble, while thinking of a way to escape. But the constant growling of his stomach including the nagging hunger that continuously broke his chain of thought whenever the youth was about to come up with a good idea.

?Stupid stomach- shut up!? Trunks yelled before following with a punch to his stomach. ?Ooof?? He knew that was a stupid idea somewhere in the back of his mind and yet still ended up knocking the wind out of him.

After a brief moment of gasping and gagging, the hybrid realized that he wouldn?t get anywhere unless he had something to eat; so after placing a hand on the metal above him, Trunks used his Instantaneous Movement technique to teleport himself and the metal to an empty corridor 80 meters from his previous location. Once the lavender haired youth found something to eat, he?d get back to work on escaping from being buried alive.

?Food, food,? he said while ambling down a darkened hall within the military compound. ?Where is the food??

Turned out that finding food was even harder to do than escaping from that living hell, it appeared that whatever had gone about killing the people here had also picked the place dry. ?Pig!? Trunks thought indignantly, it could have had the decency to leave at least a scrap of food for anyone who might one day wander into the place. In fact, the hybrid had thought to himself, if whatever it was that eliminated everyone had plans or the urge to kill again- the monster would need bait. Trunks considered himself more intelligent than the stupid beast that had killed everyone, as he?d have been wise enough to sucker in some more fools with food. If one were to actually take the time to think it out thoroughly, there were many ways you could lure people into this building to kill- at least Trunks thought so.

But, that was idle thinking and he had a coffin to escape, so he quickly got back on track to forging for food.

There was an opening at the end of the hall he?d been walking down; it seemed like a good place as any to store food and given that he hadn?t found anything else that was edible he didn?t really have much of a choice. Trunks peered through the hole he?d found in the hall, which turned out to be a blown out door way leading to a small security room, a dim flickering fluorescent light was the only thing illuminating the place since the back up generator didn?t seem to be kicking in. The room looked as though it were safe, so Trunks didn?t hesitate to wander into it curious to see if there was any food stored here- security guards had to eat after all. To the surprise of the lavender haired saiyajin, there was a small rectangular metal object in the left corner of the room; however, after a quick examination Trunks found it to be merely the back up generator.

?Damn, I really thought I had something here!? He cursed, giving the metal box a swift kick.

Just like before, Trunks was right again, a kick to the generator caused the machine to stir back to life. It whirred as it began to create and store up energy, quickly followed by the lighting up of various switches on the panels all around the hybrid, as well as the many screens adorning the wall in front of him. The security room wasn?t your average one, but possibly a main command center, it showed him nearly every part of the base- well every part that wasn?t buried or had a damaged feed.

He grinned at this new toy, it would make searching for food much easier and possible help in finding the group he?d been with. ?Speak of the devil?? He watched as Bojack began stashing food into a burlap sack, it would seem that they?d done the work for him- not that it mattered he?d wasted enough time trudging through the dark alone to care.

?Bad timing, eh, buddy?? Trunks had chimed in immediately after materializing behind Bojack. He gave the big green dude a slap on the back for striding past him to examine the goodies Ader had brought for the group.

?No shit. Is she pms?ing or something??
The youth gave a choked laugh, and pounded on his chest to clear his airway to respond. ?No. She?s just probably got her dad?s attitude- bad upbringing I would guess.? Trunks walked over to the sack and began rooting around it, stuffing anything into his mouth whether the packaging had been taken off or not- it?d been at least a few hours since he last ate and if he didn?t get something soon he actually considered becoming a cannibal.

EVENT

Brim appeared. Just like that.

Four blasts fired in all directions. Trunks teleported immediately, dodging his, but his three companions didn't fare as well. All three were knocked out immediately by the artificially enhanced energy. Trunks appeared down the hall, running at full speed. It wasn't that he was a coward, it was just that he wasn't in the mood to get his ass kicked on a full stomach.

Brim appeared again and smacked his hand hard against the saiyan's chest, flinging him back. Trunks grunted, holding the sore spot. He caught Brim's wrist when it came towards him, showing he wasn't gonna go down without a fight.

"You're stronger then I thought, boy," whispered the manipulative television producer.

Trunks had a witty remark all set, but he wasn't given the oppurtunity to say it. Brim headbutted him and knocked him out.

-----

The four awoke inside a jail cell. The door was open. Nobody was around, not Brim, not a guard, not even a rat.

Such a short lived peace, it would have been nice if Brim had waited until Trunks had at least begun to digest the food he?d stuffed into himself instead of being a great big dick. But what else could you expect from an executive producer- it?s their nature.

?Shit?? The hybrid had managed to utter before fading out from his teleportation. His reaction was so fast that even the piece of jerky that had been in his hand was left behind, floating in mid air until struck by the attack aimed at the group. Unlike his three companions who were unable to sense Brim?s power, they were unable to avoid the T.V. Exec?s powerful energy blasts- like Trunks had. Not that the boy was a coward mind you, but it wouldn?t help anyone if all four of them got knocked out, after all who knows what this psycho had in store for the group after all the shit they had been put through.

There hadn?t been much time given to react, so Trunks ended up only teleporting a few meters away into an empty hallway and took off full speed to get some distance between himself and ?Iron Man? back there. It wasn?t enough, Brim was much faster than the hybrid had expected so he only ended up getting knocked back by the T.V. exec?s big bad arm before locking onto a ki source to teleport himself out of there.

?Damn, that bastard sure packs a punch?? He groaned, rubbing the sore spot on his chest. Brim didn?t give Trunks much time to recover; he was quick to follow up the bitch slap to the hybrids chest with a straight jab to the face. That didn?t work to well for the metal legs dude, as Trunks was a pretty quick learner when it came to fighting styles, so he was able to catch the bastards wrist before he got punched in the head.

?You?re stronger than I thought, boy.?

?Still not stronger than the stink coming off your skank ass.? Is what Trunks had planned on using as a rebuttal to Brims praise, had he not been knocked out soundly with a head-butt.

An unknown amount of time would go by before our lavender haired youth would wake up from the blow given to him, unbeknownst to that thick headed Brim; Trunks had managed to soften the blow of his rank head-butt, though it would have been much better for the group if he?d been capable of neutralizing the move completely.

?Damn?? Moaned the youth as he sat up from the cold stone floor of their cell. A headache larger than the entire asteroid they were currently on ran loose causing havoc for the poor hybrid, making it feel as though his brain was ten times too big for his skull. If it hadn?t been for the ultra-mega C.C. pain killers he had in his pants pocket, he wouldn?t have been able to move for at least the next two hours. After popping a few of those white tablets, he quickly went about examining their current situation, which wasn?t looking much better than before; though the scenery had changed, it was definitely not for the better.

With a sigh of relief that his headache was gone, and Brim as well, Trunks heaved himself up and proceed to dust his pants off while quickly scanning the cell they were in. Surprisingly the demented producer had decided on not dividing them up, which made Trunks ponder why they sadistic bastard would go to the trouble of beating them down if he just planned on dropping them into some weak ass cage. Surely there was some motive to this change in location; it was too much of a hassle to do it for no reason at all.

Those were very important questions that needed to be answered, but Trunks realized that he had more pressing matters to attend to.

First thing he had to do was grab Cell who was face down in the far right corner of the cell, which was perfect for what the hybrid had to do since all that was needed was to flip the green freak over and prop him up in the corner so that he was sitting up. After that came the hard part, the bigger green freak, Bojack. Unlike Cell, he was a heavy bastard and gave Trunks a bit of trouble when the saiyajin had to lift him up to drag him over to where Cell was, and then plopping him down onto the bio-androids lap. Finally before his work was done, he walked over to his sister and carefully picked Bra up so he could gingerly carry her over to the opposite corner of the room and place her down, making sure she was in a dignified pose.

With Bojacks pants on her head, held in place by his belt.

?Genius,? he said to himself while admiring his work. ?I am brilliant!? Trunks tried hard not to laugh, but it was so difficult to do that in their current circumstance. Bojack sitting on Cells lap in his boxers, with the bio-androids tail placed between both their legs, while Bra was propped up parallel to them with both index fingers in her nose and Aders pants atop her head.

It would take many minutes of sniggering and deep breaths before our lovable hybrid could get his laughter under control. He felt it was a shame that he didn?t have a camera on him, but it wasn?t like he would forget this moment any time soon, so he took solace in that.

The attractive young warrior gasped in shock, throwing a swift kick forward at the unannounced intruder. Her foot met resistance at the ader?s crotch, removing from the chiseled alien any ability to move or breathe for several moments, until finally he managed to collect himself enough to say something. Anything.

?I brought back food and you knee me in the balls!? Bojack strained to speak, clenching his teeth in a mix of pain and agitation.

?You scared the fuck out of me!!? the cyan haired princess retorted, raising her fists. It was a natural reaction that couldn?t be avoided anymore. She must have appeared much more aggressive than she had thought, because the silvery eyed pirate threw the sack of food at the girl?s feet before stalking away.

?Bad timing, eh buddy?? Trunks observed. Bojack made a reply, to which the lavender haired hybrid was forced to clear his throat before responding, but they had been out of earshot. Cell was nearby, likely playing different scenarios of the girl?s death out in his head.

The group - especially Trunks - tore into the food with a renewed vigor. Nobody saw the need to make conversation, as they all knew it could only be moments before they were swept into a new predicament.

No sooner had the younger of the two halflings entertained the thought than the sickening television executive appeared. Bra?s look of shock quickly became one of pure, absolute anathema. A suffocating wave of disgust washed over her as she continued to gaze at the sickening fusion of flesh and metal. Quickly, without a word, Brim shattered her concentration, his lightning quick actions firing blasts of energy at each of the four warriors. The heiress saw it coming, and likely could have avoided the blast, but she was frozen in place.

?He?s for real.? she mouthed, unable to defend against the attack which had grown ruefully close. The impact wasn?t painful, nor was did it possess a very powerful blast, but it was enough to sweep the girl off her feet, and once she hit the ground, her consciousness left her, leaving the others to fend for themselves.

* * * * *

?Kid, you?re pathetic, you know that?? he said, his voice badly distorted, like one of those criminals in a hostage movie. Bra couldn?t reply if she wanted to. She couldn?t even see where the voice had come from. More to the point, she couldn?t see anything. A thick, powerful blackness had fallen over the facility. So complete was the darkness that the girl was unable to see her own hand out in front of herself.

?Yes. Just pathetic. I?d almost say you?re worse than last time. At least then you put up a decent fight. What happened? One friend dies, and you get all depressed? Fuck, Bra, you hardly gave Gohan the time of day before he died anyway!?

?Shut up!!? she could feel the hot tears rolling down her face. They were almost... painful. Worse was that she couldn?t argue with the owner of the hideous voice.

?You gonna make me? Oh... wait... you can?t. As I recall... yes... the last time you tried to contend with me... I tore a hole through you and tossed you aside like the filth you are.?

?Brim!??

?Uh...? the noise was minuscule, but in the silence it was both quiet and ear-splitting. Trunks smirked, his first victim was about to fall into his ingenious plot, ?Wha...? But... he?s dead...? the girl snapped upright, unknowingly removing her fingers from their new homes in her nostrils. Her aura detonated around her, obliterating Bojack?s rather important article of clothing in the ethereal fires, ?Brim!!?

A nightmare.

?Shut up!! You?re gonna ruin it.? the immature hybrid scolded the girl in a hushed voice. Bra was content to allow the fog of sleep to clear somewhat before trying to figure out what her brother was talking about. And once she saw it, the girl was forced to place a hand over her mouth in order to mute the powerful bout of laughter she was now suffering from.

?Thanks for not... doing anything like that to me, I guess.? the hybrid brushed stray strands of silky hair away from her face, behind her ears. An amused grin seemed to suggest that Trunks was hiding something from her, ?...What??

?Nothing. Now come on, shut up. They?re gonna wake up soon.? the young prince demanded, chuckling to himself upon another glance at Bojack and Cell.

?Trunks... have you always been... so...? Bra stammered, trying desperately to phrase something more articulate than what her thoughts had been offering her so far. ?Why are you such an idiot?? wasn?t a question the girl wanted to ask her older brother.

?Amazing?? Yeah. I have.? he interjected after the girl trailed off, leaving her at an even more severe lack of words. It was wholly possible that Trunks viewed the princess? vacant stare as some kind of expression of awe.

?That?s not what I meant... I mean-?

?What!? Are you saying I?m not amazing???

?No! What I?m trying to say...? the two in the corner began to stir, they would awaken soon.

?Quiet!! Maybe we should hide.? the lavender haired warrior silenced the girl, who sighed inwardly. She'd fought in the previous Friend or Foe tournament. She'd even helped defeat the might that was Kooriza. But none of her past experiences could possibly help her deal with what had become of her brother.

Several tiles went by under her feet. The constant plodding of four sets of feet continually assaulted her ears, but they pressed on, moving, turning, walking, pausing, talking. So much energy being wasted on Brim?s sadistic design.

Bra had timidly asked the ader to direct her through the maze of corridors which Cell had been brazenly leading them through, finding it far less nauseating to focus on the tiles on the floor rather than the long halls which had taken an eerie personification since they had first encountered the deathtraps and bodies.

Her stomach churned violently, and the girl - now stricken a ghastly pale - took the occasional sip of Bojack?s cola when the feeling worsened to a level which would otherwise force her to ?get sick? once again. Somehow the carbonated beverage soothed the tumultuous discomfort. Perhaps the caffeine sharpened her senses.

?Left, kid.? came the gruff voice of the ochre haired bandit. The heiress turned sharply in the direction that Bojack had announced, wrapping her arms tighter around her gut, groaning as soft as she could given the circumstances.

?Uh...?? she hardly heard her own wordless question. Spots danced about in her vision, and despite Bra?s audible objections, they refused to leave. Soon they blended together, blocking out the girl?s vision entirely.

* * * * *

Her hand touched her forehead. It stung. She must have taken a bad fall somewhere between Brim?s grotesque joke and now. She was leaning with her back to the wall, the sharp pains in her stomach gone, or at least, weakened to the point where she could operate more or less normally from now on. The cyan haired girl caught view of Trunks, who was leaning against the wall across from her, playing with something he?d made from the metal not currently being used for Bojack?s pants. The ader and Cell appeared to be conversing, when the genetically engineered miscreation noticed that the young halfling had awoken.

?It?s about time you?re awake. Now get up. Stop wasting our time.? he seethed, his sharp blue eyes piercing into the girl. Bra merely stared at him with her mouth agape, glancing about as a response began to formulate in her mind.

?...What happened?? was the best she could do. Witty, she cursed inwardly.

?Dunno. You kinda lost your balance and blacked out. Wanged your head pretty good, too. That?s your blood on the floor,? the ader pointed at a tiny crimson spider-web on one of the several polished tiles, ?So we leaned ya against the wall and waited around for you to wake up. Decided if one of us carried ya, then we?d be down to two useful people ?till you woke up. And knowing how that Brim guy?s been so far, I kinda doubt he?d just let us waltz around like we owned the place right now.?

?We?re roughly close to an elevator right now. From there, we can head to either the armory or the research lab. Or we could split up and search both-? Cell had been interrupted.

?Forget it. That?s gotta be what he wants.? the younger of the two siblings present protested, unwilling to lose what little advantage in numbers they may have possessed at the time. The black speckled android flicked his tail, annoyed.

?So, then, which way do we go?? he glowered at the girl, apparently still upset at the series of cheap shots she?d dealt him.

?The research lab. Think about it. Yeah, they might have some awesome experimental weapon in the armory if that?s where we?re supposed to go, but they?d obviously have plans for it in R&D anyway. Not to mention that if the clue or whatever?s in the lab, there?s no chance that there?ll be any mention of it in the armory.? the red clothed heiress explained, her statement one of surprisingly collected logic.

?Makes sense to me, kiddo. But you?re the man with the plan, Cell,? Bojack glanced over at the creature who?s name he?d uttered, crossing his broad arms as he awaited a response from the amphibian-like anomaly.

?...Yes, I agree. The child?s route is the more likely one. Unless Brim is deliberately making things illogical... but that would likely turn the viewers off, eventually.? the android thought aloud, doing his best to rationalize his motives had he been in the television executive?s position.

The questionable troupe marched through a series of corridors and rooms which linked them, completely unabated by any traps which may have been lying in wait. It was strange; the detention cells should have been one of the most heavily defended zones of the base, and instead it appeared as though they were completely devoid of any automated defenses of any kind. There was nothing to note in any of the rooms aside from their uncomfortable... emptiness. There were no chairs or tables, no posters or shelves. Nothing. Just white walls, white ceilings, and white doors. The well-polished tile floor dismally reflected the empty rooms, and the quartet which treaded through them.

?There.? Cell pointed as they headed through a final doorway. His long, black nail was aimed perfectly still at a set of thick, metal doors with a keypad set into the wall beside it. ?Cellblock 13? was stenciled on the reflective elevator doors. A surveillance camera was pointed at the elevator, but nothing else was worth noting at the time.

?Another code to break? This is so boring!? Trunks complained while the bio-android and Bojack stepped closer to the waiting keypad. The ader punched in four random numbers which had apparently intrigued him, striking the ?enter? button with his index finger.

?INTRUDER ALERT!!? came a digitized shout from all directions.

?Well, fuck.? the pirate managed to eloquently phrase how he felt, nervously sliding into a battle stance.

Trunks spun around after blowing the black ball to smithereens, facing the group with his arm held high in triumph. ?Stupid black ball!? Uttered the hybrid. ?It no knows who Trunks is?? He arched his back and beat mightily upon his chest letting out a pathetic roar before continuing. ?TRUNKS STRONGEST ONE THERE IS!?

Silence. This group had to undoubtedly be the must non-cool group in Friend or Foe II.

?Well?? Trunks scanned the ?audience?, ?At least we?re here? right?? The others sighed and walked past the lavender haired fighter, groaning in unison at his latest bad joke. Cynics?, the whole lot of them were cynics in his mind, wouldn?t know fun if it came up and bit them in the ass.

This latest round of ?run-around-aimlessly-in-the-abandoned-compound?, had led the rag-tag group of fighters to a research facility within the base. Probably one of old metal legs schemes, but Trunks didn?t really care as long as there was still something to do that wasn?t boring- admittedly the black balls thing were fun but a bit to easy. Brim would have to step it up another notch to keep this saiyajin entertained otherwise he just might, not do anything interesting.

?A lab eh?? Trunks stepped in first, examining various test tubes and beakers with moderate fascination. ?Hey, isn?t this the kind of place you were born in?? He asked Cell suddenly. ?Maybe we?ll find one of your long lost siblings??

Usually you wouldn?t expect a creature created on earth to have ties to some floating rock in the middle of nowhere, but after what Trunks had seen, it wasn?t too far of a reach. Everything so far had been in English, kind of unusual for an alien species to have the exact same language as one native to earth, and the Russian nuke. Why would old earth technology be sitting on some dirtball in what Trunks assumed was a galaxy far, far away. It had the makings of something rather suspicious, but it could be something much simpler such as Brim trying to make the environment more suitable for the warriors he?d gathered; however that begged the question ?Why a Russian nuke??

?Arg!? Yelped the saiyajin, quickly grasping his head in pain.

?Hey!? Bra interjected, obviously worried for her big brother, whether or not he was a dork. ?What?s wrong, or you okay!??

?Too much thinking makes my head hurt,? replied Trunks sadly. ?Ow.?

A collective sigh came from the group, and the pushed on through to check out the lab more thoroughly while attempting to ignore anymore of Trunks pointless yammering. So far the lavender haired youth had done much of nothing except insert a useless quip here and there, eat their food, and whine about how boring this is.

The group didn?t have to worry too much, now that Trunks? eye had been caught be a colorful group of flasks that were half filled. While Bra, Cell, and Bojack busied themselves looking for the clue need to advance in this game, he began to experiment with the unknown chemicals he?d found. Blue and yellow liquid to make green, and red combined with a clear fluid to create pink. But that wasn?t the end of his fun; instead, Trunks took the two liquids and mixed them together into a large beaker to create a bright blue glowing liquid.

?Wow?? He stared in wonderment, examining the glowy blueness of his creation. Trunks saw Bra?s image through the incandescent liquid, and an evil idea quickly formed in his clever little brain. ?Hey, sis!?

He bounded over to the blue haired girl, carrying the sloshing liquid in his hand with a smile on his face. Obviously the only thing that could possibly be going through his sisters head would be what bad thing could they hybrid have thought up now.

?Check this out.? Before she or anyone else in the group could do anything, Trunks took the beaker of unknown chemicals and downed it in one gulp- much to the shock and horror of his sister.

?Are? are you okay?? She asked worriedly.

?Yeah, I am totally fi- ugh?? His words were cut off by a sudden groan of pain, followed by Trunks grabbing his stomach with a look of pain all over his face.

?Trunks!? Yelled Bra, trying to gauge what was wrong with him.

?BUUUUUUUUUUUUURP.? Replied the saiyajin. ?Phew, that sure had some kick to it- mmm, tasted like Blueberry.?

END OF ROUND

Cell ignored the disgusting burping noises of the immature saiyan teen. He was much too busy scanning the books to care. "Aha!" He exclaimed, pulling out one in particular. "The diary of Doctor Flagg."

"How is that going to help us?" Bojack asked curiously from the left.

"Maybe he wrote something about what was going on," Cell told them, laying the book down. He hummed aloud, sighing as he opened it. "Only one entry..."

Quote:Journal,

If you are reading this, then everything failed.

I write this in hopes that somebody will one day find this. Though the crisis that both started and ended the war is long gone, there are still many haunted memories that need unlocking.

I will forever work at the hospital, waiting for somebody to come and break the curse.

Find me, or you too will end up just like everybody else, forced to serve the realm of the dead until Hell swallows this world.
