?Tch.?
A beeping noise rang out in the silence. Bardock uncrossed his arms, disgusted as he watched the counter hit zero. His battle visor had acted as a timer, and the alarm rang out when twenty minutes had grudgingly expired. After all, what could he expect? Kao hadn?t shown up?once a coward, always a coward. It was time to look abroad. On a whim, he ignited his fist and punched the wall angrily. The cheap drywall caved easily, white chalk falling from the newly formed hole. He withdrew, flames extinguished, leaving nothing but a scorch mark. Leaving the ?searchlight? on, he summoned his aura and bent his knees to a crouch. With no further ado, he was up and out of the ruins. He was about to press a button on his battle visor, when suddenly it began to act for him. He?d forgotten that not only was this clever device automatic, but it was synched to his outputting brainwaves. It was like a telekinetic link. The difficulty of getting used to it lied in the fact that Bardock was required to organize his thoughts into a single command, a concentration that was not always so easily afforded?especially in battle. Fortunately, it was capable of being put on ?auto-pilot,? and also contained a voice command feature, which he could set so it only responded to his specific vocal vibrations and thought patterns?sweet security. The saiyan hovered in the air, lingering for a moment while he adjusted some of the settings for future use. He was able to synchronize the battle visor to his scouter, thereby downloading the saiyan technology into the visor, and forwarding any q-wave broadcast signals directly into the latter. The fighter?s fixation had been so complete on Kao that he had single-mindedly counted down every second until the very last, putting all other thoughts aside. Bardock decided it was time to check on everyone else. A yellow radar blip appeared on the screen first, only a few kliks away from his very location. The visor had only briefly registered him at the tower, this being done without Bardock?s knowledge, but the data was already enormous. The label ?Reijin? appeared next to the signal, and a screen enlarged itself against the monitor, giving a visual picture. A smaller screen visualized next to it, scrolling rapidly with text. Several arrows pointed to various parts of his body, indicating physical make-up and potential uses for it during a fight. It had never actually seen Reijin fight, nor had Bardock, but it was doing an amazing analysis. He was a balanced fighter, the components to speed, strength, and defense completely equal. It could also give an accurate read out of his base and maximum energy simply by the output of his energy signal. Bardock almost choked at the number in comparison to his own. He mentally discarded Reijin?s data, in search of others. Three blips showed up in a cluster, all peaked: Bra, Vejita, and Cell. Three separate screens were summoned, going through the same proceedings as with the young saiya-jin. Looks like they found some action, he thought, separate from thought-command. The concept almost made him laugh. The angel?s errand boys. Not for me. Bardock specifically remembered Android 17 was potentially wandering somewhere on this godforsaken asteroid, but to his dismay, the battle visor could not pick him up. It had heat sensor aptitude, and that was its only way of detecting bodies that did not give off a radiant ki signal. Unfortunately, the cyborg was not within its range. He must have traveled a great distance to do that. The bronze bruiser put it in the back of his mind. He could always settle with him later. The saiya-jin waited patiently for the last two indicators to be brought up?Raditzu and Eighteen. The cybernetic woman wouldn?t show up, of course, but she would most likely be right beside his son. The monitor indicated there were no more registered subscriptions. Astonished, Bardock tried again. The command produced the same indication. He tried again. Same result. Again. Same result. This was impossible. Raditzu?gone? Not again. Not like Kakarotto. He was the only one left now, the only one to represent the pride of his family. His fists clenched and he let out a howl of frustration. How could he, the weakest of the clan, have survived them all? It wasn?t right. It wasn?t right that he was still here while they were gone. He?d felt that his performance thus far was most pitiful. He wasn?t contributing anything to anyone, and he was floundering in his quest for Kao. The son of Brim was all he had?his only reason for existing in Friend or Foe. Then an idea struck his brain. That angel, whoever he was, had made mention of Kao. The winged warrior seemed pretty knowledgeable about the inner workings of the asteroid?as well as the game?so he had to have insight on Kao?s whereabouts. Bardock growled lowly in his throat as he summoned his aura. He would prove he was still worth playing. He soared through the darkness, back to the watchtower. OOC: Woo hoo. One. I'll take the event now, if it's not too late. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
