I love some of the quotes in this game. . .definitely not like most other DS games. . .I think I'll make a list of good ones. . .So far my two favorites I think are "Are you high!?" when Shiki says to take off your pants and "It's got a friggin' steak on it. . ." concerning Ramen.

Yeah, they put some actual effort into not only translating the game properly, but keeping the intended feel of the dialog.
I'm really happy with the fact that Neku a) isn't a fucking moron and b) he doesn't take shit from people. If someone's pissing him off, he calls them on it. Like a person actually would.
EDIT: Have you gotten to the use of "the world ends with you" in dialog yet? It was cool to see wtf that meant.

I heard Mr. H say it a while back, but haven't had time to get up to using it yet. . .I'm on the random day where the mission never comes in.

That's exactly where my DS is sleeping right now.
I'm kind of wondering why I'm not playing, actually.
Out of curiosity, what are your favorite psyches so far? I've been trying to master as many pins as I can, but there are some that I just can't stand using.

I currently have equipped Cure Drink, Ice Blow, Masamune, and Murasame. . .I like to play right up in the noise's face (i.e., slash attacks). I also like the Meteor Magnet, Ichimonji, and Eyes Full of Hope.
I absolutely hated that stupid "Natural Puppy" quest. . .terrible. . .

Oh, and I'd also like to point out that Shiki>Joshua any day.

The one where Josh needs to be dressed in NP stuff? I didn't even bother with it. Neku has the bravery to do it, but I don't plan on investing a whole lot in Josh. I saw where that got me with Shiki. >.>
I also prefer the Shockwave attacks. I've just started using Eyes Full of Hope. Not sure how I feel about it. Have you tried the one that holds the enemy in Ice? Sounds kinda dumb to me, but I haven't used it yet.

No I haven't used it yet. . .and Eyes Full of Hope works well on big, slow moving things. . .i.e. Reapers/GM dude. . .and for my quest thing I had to make NP the most popular thing in the area which meant using really crappy psychs for a few intense battles. . .not fun.

What is this from!?!?! I started singing along to it and I can't remember where I heard it. Its driving me crazy.
Ahhh... I already had that quest done when I got there. I was using a lot of Sexy Beam (which is, by far, the best "Force Rounds" pin I've gotten) and Love Me Tether (not the best, but still pretty effective).
Did you spend the Orichalcum they gave you, btw? I used mine to buy Shinobi.
EDIT: God Bless!!! Ok... its from an episode of Haruhi.

Just finished the story.
What an awesome game. Seriously. The only thing that would have made it better is if you could go back and redo some of the stages. And maybe not have to use certain partners.
Oh wait. You can.
Seriously... anyone with a DS, and any remote interest in a game with an awesome story, needs to buy this.

Yeah, while I haven't beaten the game yet, I will vouch for the uber intensity of the story. . .when the truth behind "the game" was first shown I about pissed myself. . .it's great.

I pretty much booked it through the last chunk of the game. I had gotten so far ahead in levels in the first week that it didn't really matter.
Almost the entire game I had my slider at the half-way point. The only thing it seemed to affect is your max HP.

This arrived for me yesterday, and I've been too wrapped up in Odin Sphere to try it yet. Sounds like I need to play, badly.

You do. Very, very badly.
As a side-note: I don't know how I feel about Joshua being, hands down, the best partner. I wouldn't mind, but his character bugs the crap out of me.

I actually now think that he is pretty intense when you actually take control of him. At the begin of his chapter, though, he sucks.

The story is pretty crazy, at first. You just gotta sit back and let it do its thang.
And yeah, Josh is a bamf.

It's not so much the story as the mechanics. Is it normal to be killing enemies as fast as you possibly can and still get E or D on time? Should I be exploring/training more, or just going through the story and letting the game tell me what to do?
I've just been told about the 'Pig Noise'.

With the pins you have? Yeah.
Once you start getting into branded pins, you'll have a lot more to choose from and can figure out a set-up of taps/slashes/drags/etc and reboot times and stuff that works best for you. After you have a good handle on what kind of attacks you like, you can get pins that use those gestures and that helps a lot.
It did for me, anyway.

Yeah, don't worry. The first bit of the game really irritated me because I couldn't get any good scores, but as soon as things got more comfortable, they went up.
