?Trust you?? said the young woman, skeptical of the circumstance. ?I have no idea how I got here, or what exactly ?here? is, or what you are, for that matter.? Koromon chuckled slightly, obviously finding humour in the girl?s confusion.
?Like I said, just trust me. Stick with me and you?ll be fine in our adventures in the digiworld!? Micla simply began looking around a bit before letting out a heavy sigh. She fell down to the ground and sat cross-legged with her head cupped in her hands. Her eyes faced downwards as she stared at the ground. Koromon, seeing the depression in his master?s eyes, jumped onto her lap and snuggled with her stomach. Micla smiled lightly before resting her head on the little ball.
The girl had grown tired already, even though she had only been awake for a short time. The mental frustration that she had endured by her sudden change in scenery was enough to make her pass out. She laid her head on her companion and allowed herself to fall asleep. Koromon fell asleep a short while after his partner, snoring loudly as he did so.
***
?No, I don?t want to!? screeched the woman loudly, fighting in her unconsciousness. Her face construed as a fist formed and slammed the ground, all while she was asleep.
?Micla. . .? came the gentle voice of Koromon, trying to walk up his partner after she had thrown him at a tree in her slumber. ?Micla. . .? Still, to no avail, the girl did not wake up. ?Micla!? yelled the bubblegum, finally deciding that it would take something louder to wake up his companion. The teenager awoke suddenly, murmuring a few last words before realizing that she was no longer dreaming. ?Sorry to have yelled, but it looked as though you were having a bad dream.?
?Yea, thanks. Why are you still here, though?? asked the girl in a hurtful tone.
Koromon frowned slightly, but decided to cheer back up. ?Do you want to venture around now??

?Sure, I guess,? said the woman, blowing some of her hair out of her eyes.
Micla really did not like where she was, or who she was with. She was not even sure if all of this was real, but whether it was or not, she was disliking every moment of it. Her ?digimon? appeared to be a very happy creature, but that just made her hate the piece of bubblegum even more.
While her thoughts were bringing her elsewhere, Koromon was following the girl right by her side, hoping in tune with her every step. He was a very enthusiastic digimon, and did not let his partner?s melancholy traits bring him down, not even in the least bit. ?Wait!? screeched the ball, halting at once and put his left ear to the girl?s leg to tell her to stop. Micla kicked it away.
?What?s the matter?? she asked, draining on each word.
?I heard something, and it didn?t sound friendly.? ?Didn?t sound friendly?? How can something not sound friendly the girl thought, undermining the digimon?s senses. ?I?m not sure what it is. . .? stated Koromon, looking around suspiciously, trying to protect his female companion.
?Whatever, I?m sure it was nothing.? Micla took a step forward, disobeying her ?friend?s? senses, which brought a look of exasperation to the digimon?s face as he saw some rustling in the bushes near them.
?Micla!? shouted Koromon as he jumped in front of the girl to intercept the tackle. The girl was chocked when she saw her partner being hit dead-on by some large, green bug. It?s Wormmon, he?s a rookie!? interjected the bubblegum. ?I?m not sure I?ll be able to beta him,? said Koromon, wiping some dirt off of his face with one of his ears. ?Don?t worry, though, I?ll?? The digimon was cut off as Wormmon tackled him once again, knocking a lot of energy out of the pink furry.
The rookie began to crawl towards Micla, who did not know what to do. She merely started backing away, but knew that she couldn?t stop the monster. A large, web-like net was spurt at the girl, and she screamed in shock. Before it could hit her, though, Koromon and jumped in the way, seemingly out of nowhere. The companion was now trapped, however, which allowed Wormmon to go after the woman once again. He spat another one of his nets at the girl, which appears as the it would get her this time, which would render her under the bug?s control.

Koromon struggled against the web that bound him down. Micla let out a scream as a web headed towards her as well.
"Micla! Hang on!" Koromon shouted. The digivice in Micla's pocket began to glow.
Koromon digivolve to...
The web ripped apart under the peircing knives that came out of the growing digitial monster. Koromon's teeth grew, the color of it's gooey skin hardening into a greenish shade. A large red mohawk sprouted from it's skin, finishing it off.

?Micla!? yelped the eared ball, sweating a bit from extreme pressure. He was struggling within the web cage, trying to escape to help his partner. ?Hang on!? came another exasperated cry. Koromon?s eyes began to be flooded with desperation as he wished to save the young woman who was screaming in terror.
Micla?s hand began to glow within an intense fury of bright light. The beams shot out from the clenched fist and after a few moments Koromon began to glow as well, with his silhouette changing with each passing second. The net could no longer contain the new form as bright, red hair shot out from the webbing. Both the digivice and Koromon soon stopped glowing, but the digimon was no longer the same.
The female was still being targeted by the Wormmon?s attack, which was nearing her face. From the sidelines, however, the newly transformed digimon would have something to say about the attack unleashed upon his partner. ?Beta slugger!? said Betamon, launching a barrage of sludge towards the netting. The web dispersed as soon as it was struck, and mud began to fly everywhere, including into the girl?s face.
The Wormmon and the newly digivolved digimon were now facing off, and when Betamon began to gain an electric cloud around his Mohawk, the bug started to run off, knowing that it was not worth the pain.
?Sorry about getting that in your hair, Micla.?
?I guess it?s okay, I?m used to be dirty anyways,? she said while parting the sludge from her forehead and nose. After she was able to see again, she took a look at her ?new? digipal. He had large, ruby eyes, which reflected her face so well?something that she didn?t like, as she disliked her face very much. There were six curvy, blue stripes atop his head in a uniform pattern atop his head, and they were divided equally be a tall, orange-red Mohawk that contrasted very well with Betamon?s eyes. He had grown feet?though not to normal?which were each composed of one, sharp claw; two on each side. Teeth appeared from his beak-like mouth on the upper part. To top it all off, his green body also contained a rather cute tail.
Micla?s first instincts were to complement him on how much she liked how he looked now, but she soon delved back into her melancholy state for the situation and simply stated, in a rugged voice, ?Let?s go now.?
***
Betamon was filled with happiness that he was bale to help his monster and even pretended to fight the Wormmon as though it were still there and jabbed a couple of times with his single-taloned appendages as he walked side-by-side with his ?trustworthy? companion. Micla had noticed the foliage was dying down. She squinted as to look further ahead and noticed that soon enough the land became more flat and desolate than it was before. Soon enough all of the trees were behind them and there was only the odd shrub. ?Maybe we should go back,? said Betamon, with a bead of sweat precipitating on his forehead.
?No, let?s just keep on going and see what we find. Not like it matters what happens to either of us does it??
?I care about what happens to you, but I trust your instinct.?
Micla looked beside her as her companion held that goofy smile he had even when he was Betamon, and she had to restrain from smiling, and she was able to do so. ?So, what happened to you, anyway??
?I digivolved!? interjected the digimon with great enthusiasm. ?I am now Betamon; it happened thanks to the help of your digivice. With it I can digivolve into a stronger form.?
?How come you aren?t doing it now, then?? asked the girl with genuine curiosity this time.
?Because it only happen when I need, like when you were being attacked by the Wormmon?I had to protect you.?
Micla resisted yet another smile, and succeeded yet again. ?So. . .now you?re ?Betamon???
?Yup!?

?. . .Cool, I guess,? said the girl whilst rolling her eyes and turning her head away from her ?digipal.?
?What do you want to do, Micla?? piped up Betamon, enthusiastic to do something with his destined friend.
?To tell you the truth, I just want to get away from you.? The woman did not look at the digimon while saying this and continued to look straight ahead. ?So, I think that we should part ways, what do you think??
?Well. . .? began Betamon, his voice shakier than it had ever been since Micla knew him. ?I trust you, so I guess it is the best thing to do,? said the digimon after choking down some fears.
?Great!? interjected the woman, plastering a smile over her face. ?I hope you have a good time out here, Betamon,? said the girl as she began to walk away from the fish-like creature. Without looking back, the girl simply looked straight ahead, ignoring any thoughts that were pestering her about her decision.
The lone digimon was now sulking where his ?friend? had left him. He didn?t picture things to be like this; once Micla came they were supposed to be best of friends and always happy, but now it appeared that that destiny would be false. He tried to reconcile the situation with the fact that he deeply trusted the girl, but that, sadly, did not rid him of his depression.

Micla had been wandering for some time now, and all the while she was constantly concentrating on suppressing her thoughts of her latest action. Due to this, she had traveled aimlessly for a great deal of time, which led to her being in the middle of nowhere. Once she became in realization of this, she became frustrated. ?Where the hell am I?!? she screeched to the heavens, but to no avail as nobody or nothing replied to her cry. She began to whine in desperation as she realized just what she had gotten herself into.
The woman dropped herself to the ground, but her butt landed sharply on the rock below, which caused her to let out a blood-curdling ?Ouch!? She quickly jumped up afterwards and started running around in circles, lightly tapping her butt in hopes that it would help ease down the pain; and even though it seemed to do nothing, she continued to do so. As the pain began to fade, her whine riled up yet again?this was not her day. ?Why are all of these things happening to me?? she asked, on the verge of breaking down and crying.
After some more light tapping, the pain had went down to a mild, sharp sting in her behind, and she realized that she would just have to live with it, but that did not mean she didn?t feel like bitching about it to the whole world?and the world, not the digiworld, the world. Soon enough the girl felt the sting grow in intensity for a mere second, which caused her to let out a sharp ?Ow!? in response. At the moment of the more painful stinging her butt also felt cold, so she looked behind her. After some swift maneuvering, she was able to see it: a gigantic (well, at least to her; it was probably only an inch in diameter) hole right over her right butt cheek. This was merely in her jeans, though, her undergarment?s hole was only half the diameter, but that didn?t make her feel any better. An optimist would look at the bright side; at least there was no open wound on her, but that did not come into Micla?s mind, all that came into her mind was how horrible her time in the ?digital world? had been.
She felt like just dropping to the ground and doing nothing at all, but that would have obvious repercussions. The young woman decided to just continue on, and all the while she was whimpering?not a common trait of her, but in situations like these where everything was going wrong, she just could not hold it back.

Betamon stayed at the spot that Micla left him for quite a while. He would have attempted contemplation, but he wasn?t exactly used to much intelligent thought. Thus, the rookie merely laid there (as best as one can lay when there legs are nearly touching the ground directly. His ruby eyes glistened as a thin layer of salt water began to develop. The digimon was unfamiliar with such an event, and he tried shaking his head to stop the tears, but it was useless. The emotion he was also having was very much foreign to him. Up to the point where he met his destined partner, he lived in the digital world in contentment, but when she appeared, a whole new array of feelings become available to him, and he had only experienced a select few thus far.
When he first met the girl and when they were traveling together, he was filled with happiness and excitement. Happiness was something so great to him, that he wished he could have known what it was sooner. Then there was excitement; everything about the woman was fresh and new and he waited to see what she would bring for him in their adventures?this gave him much energy. When she laid her arms and head over him and fell asleep her felt joy, which was something much like that of happiness, but different; he could not explain the difference, though. There was also fear, the fear he felt when she was in danger due to the Wormmon. All of the emotions happened in such a short span of time, he hadn?t had the chance to get used to them, but then they all disappeared. Now that it appeared he didn?t have a destined friend, he was filled with sadness, which was a feeling that Betamon wished he didn?t have to know.
Eventually the digimon decided that he would have to continue on, and so he did. He hadn?t forgotten which way Micla had gone, but he wanted to obey what she wanted so he went the way that he thought she hadn?t gone. With his short legs, he continued on his journey, but at a pace much slower than he had when he was side-by-side his former partner.

?Ugh!? sighed the young woman heavily. "When am I going to find something around here," the place seemed to be getting to her, "There's nothing!" Her cries went unheard since she had abandoned the only person who had befriended her.
Her feet were beginning to grow sore, since she was only wearing some worn out sneakers. As far as she could see there was nothing but this desolate wasteland, and the constant stinging of her behind wouldn't escape her mind. Maybe I shouldn't have left Betamon. . . The situation seemed bleak, and it had appeared as though the rookie knew his way around here, I hope he's o? She shook her violently. No! I do not care what happens to him! She tried to assure herself in her feelings, but the present situation did not allow her to think all that straight.

Betamon continued to waddle around quietly in his sulking state. His head was lowered, which did not offer for much sight capability, but he managed to avoid all of the divots and bumps that were plotted about the area. Eventually he lifted up his head because he noticed a peculiarity in the corner of his eye. He squinted his bright, ruby eyes and he swears that he saw the baggy sweater of Micla. At first his eyes widened in excitement, but when the figure disappeared a moment later, he went back to his former state of melancholy.

Micla tried to take her mind off of her butt; although it was still stinging fiercely, she thought it possible. How am I going to get out of here? she pondered, desperate for an escape route. ?How?!? she screamed, hoping for somebody to answer her plea. The only reply she received was a pick up in the wind, which just made her ass hurt even more than it already did?things weren?t turning out too good.
After some more traveling and couple of more yelps of ?Ow!? the girl was finally able to just put everything in the outside world out of focus. This was the closest she was ever able to get in the real world, so it made sense that it?d be the same for the digital world, after all. She could now travel without feeling the sting of her behind and the thoughts of Betamon were gone. . .
?Aaaaaaaaah!? she screamed in utter dismay.

With a quick stumble of her foot the girl soon found herself aloft in mid-air. The ground below her had run away and now she was left with a hole; how befitting. Her screeching would be swallowed by her captive divot and sent to rupture the surrounding earth. The woman didn?t fall long; only for about a second since she had only fallen down ten or so meters. Luckily enough, she hadn?t landed on her bottom?this ?luck? didn?t make her feel any better about landing on her face, though. Her cheek was now showing some flesh as it was cut roughly. The rest of her didn?t her too badly except for her chest, which was very sensitive to that kind of pressure. ?Ouch. . .? she moaned half-heartedly. The latest incident had taken its toll on the girl and she was now exhausted, just about ready to faint.
?Betamon. . .? she cried, hoping that the digimon she had rejected would answer her call. She tried to get up onto her legs, but she just didn?t have it in her. Micla was now regretting leaving the rookie more than ever by leaps and bounds, and she wasn?t sure what would happen to her. It was hard to be able to observe what was around her or how large the chasm?if you could call it that?really was since her eyes were continuously wincing due to the pain she had accumulate din her lone expedition thus far.
?Betamon. . .? she cried out again, hoping for the fish-like monster to come to her aid.

The illusion had made the digimon delve deeper into his state of consciousness, but there wasn?t really all too much to think about. All he had ever known was that he would one day have a friend?Micla?but now that that knowledge turned out to be false, he was left with the question: ?What was there?? The question seemed irreconcilable. ?What was there?? ?What was there?? he finally asked allowed, but no voice spoke up to answer him. He had by now stopped and his head was trying to comprehend that little query. His crimson eyes, large and before full of energy, were now squinting in determination. This was quite the perplexing question indeed, but he was not sure in his ability to give a suffice answer.
?Betamon. . .? The girl?s cries had reached the digimon?s ?ears.? The fish-like monster perked up at hearing this and immediately regained some of his former vigour. The next reaction he had was that it might have merely been all in his mind, but that idea was overwhelmed by the hope he had been filled with by the uttering of his name. ?. . .Betamon. . .?
?I?m coming, Micla!?

?I?m coming, Micla!?
The girls eyes sprung wide open once she heard her digimon. They quickly closed in pain again, but she knew who she had heard. ?Betamon,? she tried to yell, but she just didn?t have the energy to do so. It did not matter, though, for the fish-like monster could tell just where the original cry had came from; he knew where his friend was and he knew he?d help her, he was meant to since she was his digidestined.
Betamon could see a hole up ahead, and he just knew that that was where she was. His pace quickened up and his eyes widened as he drew closer to the hole. Once he was relatively close, he jumped and shouted ?Micla!? His petite frame soared through the air, but only for a couple seconds as he began to plummet down towards the woman.
He landed not to far from her, and as soon as his little feet touched ground he began to waddle towards her lying body. ?Betamon. . .? she whispered, with a slight smile overcoming her. The rookie was just about to cuddle up with her when he saw a look of fear in her eyes. ?Betamon.? She said again, but this time with a much more shaky voice. The green monster turned around, and behind him he saw that there was another digimon in the hole.
?It?s Fugamon? shouted Beta in horror, ?he?s a champion!? After the shock of finding the clubbed digimon, the smaller one sprang into action. ?Beta slugger!? he shouted, jumping into the air to gain height whilst the sludge sprang from his mouth. The oily substance went towards the ogre, but Fugamon quickly brought his club up and blocked the shot.
The ogre continued forwards, and still using his club, he swung it at Betamon. It hit the green monster and he went spiraling into one of the walls. It appeared as though he passed out, and the champion began to move towards the girl yet again. With some of her last energy, the girl looked towards her digimon and said ?. . .Betamon. . .? Her eyes closed as the beast continued onward.

Micla's hand hit the soil as her eyes closed. The digivice in her palm slowly began to emit a sudden glow. "Betamon..." she repeated, in a whisper barely loud enough for it to hear.
"Leave Micla alone!"
Betamon digivolve to...
Betamon began an immense change, growing vastly in size. It's bottom claws turned into actual feet with gold-like shoes, it's top ones started to form beautiful light wings. A beak pushed out, feathers started to rustle, and the it was almost angelic to view such a superior beauty. Over it's neck rested the plate of the angels.
