Rebby was looking up at the mountain the road was leading towards. "What's that?" She finally asked after awhile.
The feline digimon who padded by her looked up at it, and then answered, "Infinity Mountain. You can see the whole island from up there.
"It's almost up to the clouds," she said in awe. "The road goes straight there, I think. Maybe we can find something up there."
"It'll be a dangerous climb."
Rebby nodded, "I just want answered. Let's do it."

The digital sun appeared to be starting to set, so Rebby threw her pack down. "Let's stay here," she told her companion.
Leormon looked up at the mountain in front of them. "I have a bad feeling about climbing that thing."
Rebby nodded, "We'll think about it tonight. Come on, I have a snack in my pack. We'll worry about more food tomorrow."

"What are you still doing up?" Leormon asked when he uncurled himself from Rebby's lap. It was almost pitch black outside, and with no fire it was difficult to get comfortable.
"Can't sleep. No food...no shelter. I don't know what we're gonna do."
"We'll find someone tomorrow," Learmon assured her. "Promise!"
Rebby cracked a smile and laid back, holding up the digivice. "This digivice is the key to everything. It probably explains what I'm doing here, too. It's what helped you digivolve from Friimon."
"Looks funny," was the only observation Rebby could give.
"Well, we'll head up the mountain in the morning. Hopefully we can find someone who has answers, and get me home."
Leormon said nothing. He hoped Rebby never went away. Good friends were hard to come by these days

The starting trip up the mountain was reletively easy for the teenage female. It seemed more like a hill then a mountain. However, as they got higher and up into the actual mountain portion, things became more dangerous.
"I feel like these rocks are gonna just slide down under my feet," Rebby whined, grabbing hold of one of the said rocks and hoisting herself onto a ledge. "Ugh, who's bright idea was this anyway?"
"Your's," her digimon companion reminded her. Leormon was having an easy time pouncing from one part to the other, and then up to the ledge. "C'mon!" He hurried, biting her sleeve and yanking her up.
Rebby climbed up onto the ledge, then standing up from her spot. She looked down the cliff at the mist-covered ground, then up towards the peak. "Still a long way."
The two followed the cliff around the corner, but stopped suddenly. A creature was standing on the cliff as well, facing away from them.
"That's Sealdramon, Rebby. Bad news." Learmon told her.
Rebby stepped forward. "Ahem!" She coughed deliberately and out loud.
The cyborg digimon spun around, spear in hand. "Human!?" The robotic voice said, alarmed. "That must mean...the prophecy!"
"You know why I'm here. Tell me."
Sealdramon glared at her and prepared to fight. "You're in Ogremon's terrority. He'd be very displeased if I let a human free. You'll fall to my blade!"
Learmon jumped in front of her, growling. "Come and try it!"

"Leo Claw!"
"Eye Beam!"
The two attacks cancelled each other out in the midair. Leormon bounded on all fours towards Sealdramon, growling and roaring his mini-yips. He lept into the air towards his oppenent, only to be blocked by the long spear Sealdramon carried.
"Leave the human to me," Sealdramon barked at the little pup. "You don't know what you're getting into, Leormon!"
With almost no effort, Sealdramon shoved the little digimon backwards. Leormon landed fine, looking up with a determined growl.
"You can do it, Leormon!" Rebby called behind him.
Sealdramon lept into the air, spear upwards and pointing down. "No he CAN'T!" The cyborg shouted, leaping over the lion pup and towards Rebby.
"Rebby!"
The girl fell backwards, rolling a bit too far and going over the edge. "Ack!" She yelped, grabbing hold of the edge, "Leormon!"
Leormon stopped, unsure of what to do. "What now?" Sealdramon challenged. "Fight a losing battle, or save a hopeless friend?"
Rebby's rock suddenly gave way, causing her to fall down into the chasm, hitting the water below.
Leormon didn't waste anytime. He jumped off the cliff after her.

Leormon climbed out of the freezing lake at the bottom of the mountain with his head down, depressed at the recent incident. Rebby had removed her shirt, just a bra under it, and was trying to drench the water out of it so it was be bearable.
"I'm sorry, Rebby..." Leormon sighed. "I couldn't..."
"Don't worry about it," the girl told him. "We need to figure out how to get you to digivolve again. You can't handle those bigger monsters like you are now."
Leormon started walking off, causing Rebby to throw the soaked shirt over her head and follow. "It's not that simple," he told her. "I can't digivolve. I was trying."
"We'll figure it out, I promise."
"I just can't..." Leormon sighed.
The duo left the small cavern and stepped out onto the mountain path. After falling off, they'd have to start climbing it all over again. "If Sealdramon was tough, imagine how that Ogremon guy will be."
Leormon nodded. "I'll try."
Suddenly, the two stopped when they realized they had company. A little down the path they just got on were two creatures. One was a human male, and next to it was a small pink bubble-like digimon. Rebby suddenly set her fight to look intimidating, and raised an accusing finger. "Leormon!" She whispered.
Leormon lept in front of her, growling towards the two newcomers.
Rebby demanded, "Friend or Foe?!"

"So you got attacked by a huge digimon," Tristan narrated Rebby's story as they climbed up the mountain, "And now you're going back up there?"
"We have to," Rebby explained. "The guy up there, Ogremon, is the only kind of clue we have to figure out why we're here."
"Well," Tristan said, "I guess that's a good point."
"Point?!" Came a mechanic voice. Both of the digi-destined spun around to look up at the creature utop a nearby cliff.
"Sealdramon!" Leormon jumped in front of the humans and Koromon. "He's mine!"
Tristan looked down at his own digimon. "You can help, Koromon!"
The little pink blob nodded and lept into the air with Leormon.
Koromon digivolve to...
After the skin turned into a fiery orange shade and Koromon's nose began to stick out like a beak, claws began to appear at the end of the four growing limbs
AGUMON!
"Leo Claw!"
"Pepper Breath!"
Sealdramon panicked, leaping back from both of the attacks. "Arg! Another stinking human! I'll be back, digi-destins!"
As the cyborg digimon ran away, Learmon and the newly digivolved Agumon ran back to the two humans. "What's a digi-destine?" Rebby asked aloud as she picked up Leormon.

The digital sun fell upon the land and the moon rose up over the four travelling companions. Tristian had a conversation with Agumon behind Rebby and Leormon, probably about his digivolution.
"We're not at the top yet," Leormon commented to them, "But I can see a building up there."
"Maybe it's Ogremon's place," Tristian suggested.
"In which case, be ready Leormon," Rebby told her friend, who nodded in return.
The foursome stepped up the stairs towards the mansion-like building at the top. Once there, Rebby simply pushed the huge doors open.
Inside, they could see the building was simply one room, more like a long corridor. At the end of it was Sealdramon standing by a chair. One the other side of the chair was a reddish insect like creature. On the chair was an ugly green digimon.
" Flybeemon is the one by the chair, Rebby," Learmon told her. "And Ogremon is the one on the chair!"
"So these puny humans are the ones you were so scared about?" Ogremon asked Sealdramon, as if the newcomers weren't even a problem. "Take care of them."
Rebby and Tristian exchanged a glance. "No hello?" Rebby asked saracastically.
Flybeedramon lept into the air towards them, "I'll give you a hello!" He shouted with a tone of dripping cruelty.

"Poison Stinger!"
"Pepper Breath!"
Agumon managed to force Flybeemon towards the side enough for the attack to lose accuracy.
Sealdramon spun his spear as he lept forward as well. "Work together!" Rebby directed to the two.
"Leo Claw!" Leormon shouted as he swiped towards Sealdramon. Though the attack didn't do much, Agumon's pepper breath managed to distract him long enough to take a headbutt from the lion pup.
Tristian watched as Rebby grabbed one of the several pipes lying in the corner for whatever reason. "What are you doing?" He asked, paying attention to Agumon while still glancing at her.
Rebby ran towards the fight at full speed. "Joining in!" She called to her new friend. Being a fighter, she had no problem jumping in, but had no idea how strong the digimon really were.
Flybeemon had his back turned to Rebby, staring down Agumon. He prepared to strike when she whapped him upside the head, sprawling him across the wooden floor. Agumon glanced at Tristian, confused, as Rebby moved on.
"Eye Laser!" Sealdramon bellowed at Leormon. The little lion backed up to avoid the crumbling blow that the floor took for him.
Rebby came up beside the cyborg digimon, and without any dramatic scream, she hit up in the jaw so hard he flew back against the wall.
"Rebby!" Leormon gasped at his partner. "What are you doing!?"
"Taking care of things myself!" She yipped at him and then started for Ogremon. The green ugly digimon stood up in preparation.
"Wait!" Leormon began to run after her. "Don't!"
Rebby swung at the digimon.
He caught the steel pipe before it went anywhere near his head. Before Rebby could react, he grabbed her throat with his full palm, lifting her off the ground. "Nice try, girlie," Ogremon chuckled. "Time to go bye-bye!"
Back behind Leormon, Agumon and Tristian began to take on Flybeemon and Sealdramon on their own.
Leormon growled at the sight in front of him, Ogremon lifting Rebby up by the throat. "Rebby!" He shouted at her. "I'm coming!"

Leomon got into a fighting stance, one claw facing out towards Ogremon. "Think quick, Ogremon. What's your next move?"
Ogremon, realizing he no longer held the advantage, backed up. "You win this round, digi-destines! Flybeemon, Sealdramon! To the summit!"
The green digimon retreated to the back of the small building and then out of it. His lackeys followed close behind.
Leomon then promptly passed out, falling as Leormon back into Rebby's arms.
"So...who are you?" Tristian asked the newcomers, who had fallen through the roof.

While Tristian questioned the three newcomers, Rebby carried Leormon to the corner of the battle-worn room. "You ok?" She asked her pup.
"I was so...strong," he whispered.
"You were great," Rebby giggled.
Leormon smiled weakly at her. "I'm so tired now though. Leomon used a lot of energy..."
Rebby just nodded and held the cup close. "We'll find Ogremon at the summit. Then, we'll finish it and get answers as to why I'm here."
The digimon again nodded. "I hope...I hope you stay with me. Forever..."
Silence.

Rebby quietly carried Leormon towards the back exit that Ogremon had taken.
She pushed the door open and then headed out, away from the building.
"If they follow, they follow," she said under her breath, "But that's up to them."
With that reasoning in mind, Rebby went towards the summit, and the final showdown with Ogremon

"Think they're following?" Rebby asked her companion as they trekked up the mountain. She just ate her lost chocolate bar, which meant they were without food.
Leormon shrugged next to her. He was feeling a bit better now that he had some rest in her arms. "I don't know. Maybe."
The duo climbed up a cliff and moved around a large rock. As they expected, one of Ogremon's lackeys were there to slow them down. Flybeemon sat perched on a rock in front of them, awaiting their arrival.
"You just won't give up, will you?" She asked, gritting her teeth. Leormon began to growl.
"I just want a challenge," the evil fly digimon informed her. "So digivolve for me, Leormon! Fight me to see who the best is!"
The young pup looked back at Rebby, "I don't think I can."
"I'm coming anyway, Leormon!" Flybeemon suddenly lept off the rock at the two.
Behind them, Scott and his two companions arrived on the scene, as Leormon engaged Flybeemon in combat. Tristian apparantly had yet to make up his mind if he wanted to follow

Rebby gained an unsure look on her face after Leormon said he couldn't digivolve. Flybeemon was being persistent and seemed as though he had a chance at beating the cub.
As some of the earlier companions were starting to come into view, the girl noticed something in the corner of her eyes, but she quickly dismissed it as nothing. While the fight began to pick up, her digivice began glowing and Rebby thought that Leomon would be showing his face soon, but Leormon didn't glow like he did before. Instead she saw the light coming from the glittering she had seen a little while ago.
The girl walked over to it with caution, but once she was close enough she saw that it looked like a card. "What?" she said. She knelt down to pick it up and once she did both the card and her digivice glowed one more time with intensity before stopping.
OOC: Rebby gained digi-modification card: Shield Upgrade.

"What the...?" Rebby looked down at the card. The picture on the card had words that she couldn't understand, but the picture had a large military-like shield, with the picture of a lion's head engraved in the center. On the left of the card was a slider image.
"Rebby," Scott whispered from the left. "Leormon's losing."
Looking over at the man who she had to really know, Rebby nodded. He seemed like he wanted to help, and he was in the same situation as her. Lost, and alone.
"Okay, Leormon," Rebby shouted, "Do your thing!"
Flybeemon lept into the air after Leormon pounced. Leormon began to glow like before, and looked up. "Leormon digivolve to...!"
Out of the bright light erupted the lion-human hybrid, his fist ready to come in contact. "Leomon!" He exclaimed.
Ready for this, Flybeemon fly up higher, moving an arm down. "Poison Needle!" He fired off a thin, deadly purple needle towards the lion. Leomon fell back, just barely evading the shot.
Upon landing, sent a powerful blast upwards. "Fist of the Beast King!"
"Rebby, your digivice is still glowing!" Scott told her from her left. She looked down to confirm he was telling the truth. Both the digivice and the card were reacting to each other. Without having to be told, she suddenly understood what to do, and how to do it.
"Poison Needle...Spray!" Not only one needle flew out this time, down at Leomon, but several dozen. The beast king attack was cancelled out by the many needles, heading towards the lion warrior.
Rebby held up the card with determination, and held down the digivice. She then forced them together in the center, the card sliding across the top of the digivice.
"Digi-Modify!" She exlaimed, "Shield of the Lion King!"
A glow of bright digital light exuded from the mass of muscle and fur, his right arm bearing it with pride. The light then faded into a full on protective peice of equipment, complete with the lion symbol as in the picture. His arm was now useless, a setback of the modification, but it was enough to block off the needle spray. Leormon then looked up, his uneffected hand glowing.
"Fist...of the BEAST KING!"
Flybeemon had been diving at Leomon to finish him off when the surprise happened. The attack hit him in right in the face, causing him to go off course and crash off the cliff, down the mountain. Not dead, but still defeated.
Rebby panted at the fight. Leomon turned to face the human duo. Rebby looked over at the new companion. "Hi," she smiled weakly, "I'm Rebby."

With Leormon going on a different route, Rebby headed up the path to follow her new-found companion. She had tied her long dark hair into a ponytail and topped it with her hat, pushed backwards, so it was out of the way.
The young girl peeked behind a rock once she reached the top. She didn't have time to look at the view, there was something to be done. However, once up there, she didn't se very much. Flybeemon was off to the other side of the area, and Sealdramon was sitting on a rock.
Where's Ogremon?
"Find him?" Questioned a sleak voice. Rebby turned and gasped when she saw the digimon follower, Gotsumon.
"What the?! Where is Fufumon?"
Gotsumon blinked. "Uh...back there. He'll be okay."
"You idiot!"
The two digimon on the summit suddenly turned after hearing the voice. Rebby, realizing that she had been caught, lept into vision. Gotsumon also appearing, but hiding behind his female friend.
"You!" Sealdramon growled, grabbing his spear.
Flybeemon floated over him and landed right next to him. "Coming here all alone, human?"
"Not alone." Came a voice.
The two turned around to see two new figures who had snuck up from behind. Apparantly Leormon had found Scott, and the two were here to save the day.
"We were hoping for Ogremon," Leormon growled, "But you'll do for now."
Rebby undid her digivice from her jeans. "Alright then! Let's do this!"
"Leormon digivolve to..."
(And go! You can digivolve Fufumon whenever you want. I'll digivolve your rookie for you when you're ready)

"Digi-Modify!"
Ogremon looked up, his club still hanging in the air above him, ready to strike. Leomon began to glow lightly, his right being engulfed in the brightness. The green digimon could see Rebby, Scott, and Fufumon charging into the area.
"Shield of the Lion King!"
"Pummel Whack!" Ogremon screamed.
Clang
The club smalled into a solid object against the battered lion warrior's body. From the light, Leomon jumped back up onto his feet, having found a new strength to continue fighting. A new will to live. The huge lion-crested shield took the place of one of his bulking arms, his whip laying firmly in the other.
"No!" Ogremon gasped, falling back. "I had you!"
Rebby backed up with Scott and Fufumon after activating the digi-modification. "You think he can do it?"
"I don't know," Scott admitted. "I honestly don't know."
(I'm gonna let you finish the fight since you've done so much, and I don't want to ruin your plans. I had to post, though, simply because it's my character)

(No go on Ogremon. I plan on him coming back later for Rebby, evil again.)
The balcony gave a beautiful view of the entire western side of File Island. Leormon rested his front paws on the railing, standing on his hind legs, while Rebby stood just behind him. She was smirking, almost ready to giggle, at the turn of events. "I guess things are going to turn out okay, after all." She smiled down at him.
"Things only get better from here," Leormon said up at her. "We'll find out what we need to know."
Rebby nodded in agreement. "I'm glad you're with me, Leormon." Her voice dropped a bit. "You really worked back there...you did a lot."
He looked up at her, a smile across his furry face. "Hey, don't mention it Rebby. That's what friends are for."
The girl smiled brightly, "Thanks, but I mean it, Leormon. I...really appreciate it."
The pup dropped from his standing position and ran his body against the girl's legs, almost purring like a kitty. "So what do we do now? Go to Server?"
"I guess so. That's the only road we have. Been there before?"
"Sure," he responded. "I was born there." He then shifted the topic a bit. "What do you think of Scott? And Kyokymon? Should we go with them...or maybe go on our own?"
Rebby thought about it for a moment. "I don't know. I feel like we should be doing things alone...this is our journey. But Scott is going to Server too, so we may as well be going with them."
"Sounds okay to me," Leormon plopped his butt onto the ground. "I wonder if that Gotsumon is coming. Seems like Scott should only be taking his digimon, not really fair for Kyokymon if he lets that stone guy tag along."
"It's up to him," Rebby shrugged. "We'll go off on our own eventually. It's not that I don't like them..."
"...You should lighten up, Rebby." Leormon blurted. "We'll be fine. Let's go see if Ogremon can supply a boat or something."
Nodding, Rebby scooped up her lion pup and carried him in.
