If they are highly exceptional, they can, but that rarely happens. Personal RPs are more commonly used to simply build storyline.

Don't roleplay for rewards.

Roleplay for the sake of roleplaying.

The best rewards come when you least expect it. Selipa is a good example, having has no idea she was getting SSJ until she finally accomplished it.
