What the fuck!?
#1
Ok so they ask us to phone in early if we need to call in sick. So I'm up at 9 (47 mins ago) and I feel like shit. I've had chest pains all night, my nose hurts, and I find it hard to breath. I don't want to pass this on, because I think I got it from my mom, and I don't want to pass out. That's fine and dandy, they have 3 hours to find a replacement...

IF THEY'D GET OFF THE PHONE!

I called once, no one answered. I called again, busy, again and again. I've tried for an hour and it's been busy. They need to either get another phone line or get a message machine.

I need to inform them that I can't come in, and they won't get off the fucking phone. I'm temped to go down there in my PJs and tell them I'm not working today, and then they'll be like "wtf? why are you here?" and then I can yell at them to get off the fucking phone and I wouldn't have to inform them in person.

Ugh so mad.

I had that happen.. Except it wasn't engaged... It wasn't connected.. The phone number I got off of both the McD's website, and the place, where not connected!

You should, for future reference, get the manager's number...

My dad does, too. It's dangerous, though... sometimes I worry that he'll kill himself because he tries to work so hard. Not to mention he rarely works less than 10-12 hours in a day. (Running your own business is... difficult)

I feel ya on that, Bra. Hell, my step dad just got out of the hospital, he had worked himself to the point that he messed up himself, and they still don't know what is goin gon internally, but already, he has had an appendisectomy, and now, they are talking about taking like half his colon out. It is all work related, because he never fuckin quits. works 12 hour shifts without much complaint, goes to bed, and back up to do it again. Working too much is dangerous.

That is really dependent on where you work. If you work in the food service industry or with children, this cannot work. If you have any sort of contagious illness, you shouldn't go to work. But seeing as how I don't know where 18 works, this is all moot.

McDonalds. If I got what my mom has it's contagious, thus I should not work.

If your ill, and handle food. You are legally bound not to work.

IF you have ANY form of illness, flu, or even a stomach upset, you can not work.
