Music for RPs
#1
Today, we went with school to see a concert whos theme was classical music in movies. This gave me the idea for this thread.

What music would you suggest to people to listen while reading your RPs? Why? For which moments?

24- Jem (for those intense final moments of life, a last stand if you will)

Dance of Curse- Yoko Kanno-Vision of Escaflowne (dramatic intense battles)

Season of Love-Rent (for a moment where your character is feeling happy about life and his friends)

Angel-Sarah Mclachlan (for a sad moment, or an uplifting moment)

Der Freischutz- T.M.Revolution (a race againt time, or a battle)

Remember when it rained-Josh Groban (for a sad moment)

Bring it home- Swolen Members (battle)

Rythym of the Night-Moulin Rouge soundtrack (don't know who sings it)(for when your character is feeling energetic and free, such as dancing)
If I were a creeper I would hide in... your closet. Or under your bed, you know, depending on the weather.

Here's the burned CD I use for RPing, usually.

Tank! (Live) - The Seatbelts
Walking on Sunshine - Jeffries Fanclub
The Brightest Bulb Has Burned Out/Screws Fall Out - Less Than Jake
Drunken Lullabies - Flogging Molly
Ask DNA - The Seatbelts
Build Me Up Buttercup - Save Ferris
99 Red Balloons - Goldfinger
Look What Happened - Less Than Jake
Sweet Home Alabama - some aucapella group
Super Rad (personal favorite) - Aquabats
Maxwell Murder - Rancid
I Know - Save Ferris
9th and Pine - Less Than Jake
Lobster Bucket - Aquabats
Its Been A Summer - New Found Glory
One Tin Soldier - Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
Superman - Goldfinger
We Go Together - Less Than Jake
Come On Eileen - Save Ferris
History of a Boring Town - Less Than Jake
Aquabats Theme Song -Aquabats
Ride On Shooting Star - The Pillows

Its a lot of punk/ska, but there are some random things sprinkled throughout. I use it no matter what I'm writing, regardless of the scene.

Cold (But I'm Still Here) - Evans Blue
Good for whenever you want to rp one of those times where people are having an internal conflict or something.

Tubthumping - Chumbawumba
Not exactly "great" for rping, but it's a real upbeat song, and good if something you're writing is supposed to be humorous or light.

The Red - Chevelle
Pretty decent for fights. Not really fast paced, but it still matches a fight rp best.

Pts.Of.Athrty - Linkin Park
Absolute BEST song to listen to whenever doing a fight rp, at least in my opinion. I listen to it every time I'm going to write up a fight. Seriously. Listen to this one.

Wasteland - 10 Years
I think this is good for a "self-sacrificing" rp. That doesn't mean writing up being a suicide bomber or something, but it's good for when your character is making some really important decision, and they choose something altruistic that will hurt themself.

99 Red Baloons- Goldfinger
There is no reason for why I listen to this one. It just gets me in the mood to write, I guess.

Usually stuff that's punk/hardcore/post-hardcore. It helps me focus, no matter what I RP, but most of the time it's action/serious stuff, so it suits. Stuff like:

Finch, Thursday, Glassjaw, Less Than Jake, Skillet, The Used, A Wilhelm Scream, etc.

Believe it or not, usually Christian worship music. I don't have a specific playlist for it, though usually, I'll pop in some David Crowder. His music has so many levels to it, I discover stuff in the song, even if I've listened to it 40 times (which, for most of his songs, that's true).

Lynyrd Skynyrd, unless we're talking about two different songs.

Anything extremely orchastral or that has alot of emotion with at least a mid-range tempo usually gets me in a writing mood.

Some badass lists up above me though...

Yeah, that is what I mean. I didn't want to take the time to look up the spelling.

I'm not going to lie, one of the songs I listen to all the time when RPing is Fuck Her Gently by Tenacious D. I usually pop in the CD or have techno playing. For the AMV I had made for Tapion, I had used Coheed and Cambria, too...

Slipknot is a good one during fight scenes, or the back in the day Archers quest...that was a good quest...
