Basic Information
#1
This is very basic, it WILL be updated in the immediate future.

---

In the middle of all the guilds will be a Guild Relations, which me and HF will control. It basically consists of messengers that go from one guild to another and keep things running smoothly, sending news of conflicts and alliances.

Guilds are defined as an organized group or business.

The five guild types are Assassain, Mercanaries, Church (Dojo of Light), Mafia, and Evil.

Assassain is designed for people with a knack for hunting a certain person or people and usually killing them. People would hire the guild for this job. Because it's obvious an illegal act on most planets, this is a very secretive guild.

Mercanaries is a Fighters guild, out in the open, for anyone to hire. Usually involves out in the open fighting, as opposed to an assassain's preferred "thrill of the hunt" missions.

The Dojo of Light will basically be a holy guild that is designed to protect the people who prey to the temples and church. Also can be used to stop evil-doings.

The Mafia is organized crime, like stealing, bribing, or blackmail.

The Evil guild is your normal "We want to take over the world" group, who will stop at nothing to fuck things up for everyone.

The guilds will be based on one planet, but will have small camps on all the planets so they'll still be universal.

The actual details and how to join each guild, will be decided by the Guildmaster. Speaking of...

The GMs will be NPCs, controlled by a member of Chubbs. It's probably best the member have their character somehow involved in the guild. The GM will decide the rankings, give out the tasks and make all the rules and decisions. The GM will be responsible for making all NPCs in the guild.

The GM will give out tasks, depending on rank. If it's a small job, it shouldn't require much. If it's a big job, usually given to high ranking people, then it should take a long time to complete, and should tie into whatever storyline you're doing. For example, if you're meeting with friends or doing a non-guild quest, you could still have your character planning things out or preparing for the actual guild-quest. The rewards will be given upon completion, like a normal quest.

It should be noted that guild tasks are NOT quests.

They must be done over time. Regardless of what guild or what it is. It can be done during another quest, or personal saga, or over several. Depending on how important the task is, it could take a long time. This is because a guild is a lot huger then a simple quest.

This way, you can still do your normal stuff while remembering you have a task to complete.

The exception is if it's a very simple quest, which some people will get. Most first quests will be like this

To answer an FAQ

The Dojo of Light is the only 'good' guild. They work for the people.

Yggdrasil is the only other 'legal' guild, working within legal bounds (usually). They're considered a good guild, but specific tasks could be less then nice.

Bjorken is neutral, working outside the law and for themselves. They are disguised as different businesses

Moon Daggers are neutral as well. They work for themselves, because they love to kill and want to make money doing what they love. They arn't evil, they simply like to kill.

Paragon is out to take over the world, but they are disguised as a large business/government. They're evil

Lawful Good: A Lawful Good person believes in strict law and order for the greater good. They believe conformity and structure breeds good and such should be implemented everywhere. They often go out of their way to aid those in need, stop lawbreakers and usurp evil-doers. Ex. A paladin.

Neutral Good: A Neutral Good person is commited to good, but is commited to neither law nor chaos. A Neutral Good person judges the situation and acts accordingly; if law is favourable it shall be chosen, if chaos is favourable it shall be chosen. Neutral good people still endeavour to help others, but perhaps not as much as a lawful good person. Ex. A social worker

Chaotic Good: A Chaotic Good person believes strongly in creativity, personal freedom and change. They despise being ordered and dislike law and structure. They believe that chaos is for the greater good, and try to help others any way they can. Ex. An upstanding democrat

Lawful Neutral: While they prefer the company of good over evil, Lawful Neutral people are not commited to good nor evil for themselves. They do, however, believe that law is an important aspect in life, and prefer to live in structure and conformity to further their own agenda. While they will not intervene in most cases, they cannot tolerate lawlessness and as such despise thieves and criminals. Ex. Police

True Neutral: A Neutral person does not believe that law, chaos, good nor evil will further their agenda in any way, and as such they commit to neutrality itself rather than to any aspect. Some who do so are simply tired od the politics in law, chaos, good and evil, while others take a more philosophical approach to the alignment. Ex. A Philosopher

Chaotic Neutral: These people are completely free-willed, doing whatever they please. They do not commit to good nor evil, but strongly believe in personal freedom, and are often anti-law, despising law officers and structure. These people are basically out to get their own. Ex. A common thief

Lawful Evil: These people adhere by tradition and law but would much sooner walk over a weak pauper than give him any money or heed him any attention, and will kill law breakers, or people that get in their way, without a second thought. Not as dangerous as the other Evil alignments, however, as they are somewhat open to good acts. e.g. Might rescue a person from death should they have a 3 lb. diamond on a necklace. Ex. The Mafia.

Neutral Evil: This is a dangerous alignment, generally reserved for NPC's due to the fact they cannot work in a party easily (although I avidly enjoy playing the alignment for both the freedom of activity and the challenge of making it work in a party). These people will ignore laws, if it suits them, or use law if it is to their advantage. They kill freely if there is personal gain involved, but do not share the lust for murder that Chaotic Evil alignments have. Ex. A ruthless Criminal

Chaotic Evil: The most dangerous alignment, also generally reserved for NPC's (I really don't see how this alignment could work at all in a party, as the character would be too tempted to murder the party). These people just kill, and kill and kill some more. Then they'll go and spread a plague, curse a kingdom, then kill some more. Ex. A psychopathic murderer, or Demon.

Part of basic D&D rules. I just thought the guild alignments were a little vague, so I'm trying to help. Feel free to shoot me down.

Yea, that was absolutely nothing to do with the guild allignments. While I appreciate the gesture, the allignments are vague for a reason. They're going to be shaped as we go

Alright. ^_^ Sounds good in any case.

Yea. It'll moreso be the PC members that really give it an alignment.

Close, HF.

Anyway, Kilah, Ygg is exactly what you described. Fighting ftw, but not a lot of killing. Go read the description I wrote.

EDIT: No it doesn't, btw. It involves taking [i]jobs[/]i with moral ambiguity. Killing is restricted unless precise permission is given beforehand. In fact, random killing will get you kicked from the guild.

Sp, a couple questions.

1) Can you apply for a guild and be doing something else at the same time?

and

2) I would like to be an assassin. Which guild would I fit more into for that?

Fuck you, Photobucket.

1) No. Can't be two places at once. You can stop one thing, apply, and go back to it.

2) Moon Daggers.
