I originally typed the first paragraph as a response to Kilah's thread, however, I realize that this needs to be said to everyone. I emphasize it at Kilah, but this isn't typed with only him in mind. Read this, apply this:
That's what you are getting yourself into.
Quote:I feel the need to add something.
Kilah: This applies to everyone, but I actually feel the need to stress this too you. This is going to be similar to our previous contest of Apprentice. We are looking for people that can continue working under pressure. That can do what we want done when we ask. That means following directions. That means that sometimes we will intentionally piss you off by telling you to do something, and not apologizing for it. We will be VERY critical and blunt about it. If you at any time feel that the staff is just being biased against you, pack your bags and get off the bus. We will not force you to stay in a situation that you feel you are being mistreated in. However, in these events, we give NO special treatment. We are hard on EVERYONE and even moreso on anyone that we feel is simply putting up a front just to get by until the thing is over. We aren't wanting actors, we want legit hard working people. We are TRYING to eliminate you and everyone else that joins this. There are going to be NUMEROUS people in this event that are going to feel that they did just as good of a job as the other people and that they were eliminated simply due to bias. The bottom line is, if that is true or not, it won't be contested, nor will any complaints be taken seriously. Its how the world works, and will possibly play a part in choicing. We wouldn't intentionally say "I just don't like this guy".
I'll clarify that: We won't intend originally to eliminate someone based on what we think of them. However, if you give us reason over the course of this to feel that way, then by all means we will use that as a reasoning. Just like in a job situation, its best not to make all the requirements but intentionally piss off your soon to be boss. There are going to be moments when the decision will lie between two people that we think are both good candidates, but we'll be forced to decide between the two of them: one or the other. No matter what we wish, we can't choose both. Although we do reserve the right to judgement.
Personally, there was a small point during Apprentice where I had to solely decide the firings. A very small timing, but I did it, and I will say now that it was VERY hard to make some of the final calls on it. BJ did a very good job with that, and I had to force myself to make those decisions. And it is possible that as a result some people left thinking I chose out of bias or favoratism. I cannot help that. I will do my job as best as I can.
If anyone thinks that they can't handle that, pack your bags now. If anyone thinks that they can, welcome to the longest hardest busride you've ever endured.
That's what you are getting yourself into.
