Roshi will still be a silly humor type guy, it just won't be breasts and beer. The movie is simply not intended for an audience like that, they want PG-13.

Those comics were perfectly fine for children to read. I read them, and I turned out fine.

Well, not really. But Roshi insinuating that Bulma did, indeed, have breasts, was not that big a deal.

Except you realize how often the "I _______ and I turned out fine" phrase is used? I hear it all the time from some of the most bottom dwelling 4chan obsessed inhuman pieces of shit that I have to question that sometimes, despite many examples also of the contrary (yourself being a good result).

I hear it a lot in regards to a parent buying their 10 year olds the newest Lil John cd or Saw or something. "I listened to music that was 'bad' when I was their age and I turned out fine" while holding a beer in one hand and a joint in the other in front of their 10 year old that doesn't know who daddy is.

One of the most overused incorrect statements ever.

Eh,don't know about a 4chan(will google it), I agree with the whole music and rated R movies, I don't think they should have made Roshi as perverted as he was in the manga/series...maybe a lil bit but not as much. Just enough to let us know 'Yea we're trying to accomodate the fans and not piss off parents.'

A lot of people seem to hate it, but I dunno. The whole chowing down on a turkey leg thing seems very in line with the series (by that I mean, the sort of thing Goku would do). The three-wheeled bike looks very much like something straight out of Capsule Corp.

It's probably going to be horrible still, but... This gives me hope. Just a little.

Yea that turkey leg is pretty 'Goku' like. Though I'm still willing myself into keping a open mind when I go see this. I will be seeing this movie twice. I know I will see it twice because the first time I'll be going "WHY GOD WHY? WHY YA DO THIS TO DB? WHY YOU DO IT?".

People who go into this movie expecting to see anything resembling Dragonball are going to end up disappointed, and I can't say I sympathize.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I was talking about vomiting a little a page ago, but I've had time to acclimate to the idea. I've accepted that they're going to completely butcher the original Dragonball, but maybe there will be some interesting, fresh ideas there as well. I don't really care about how they change the original story. As long as they keep the characters relatively recognizable (Goku is still a happy-go-lucky doofus, Bulma is still a self-centered brat) and can make a GOOD MOVIE out of it, I don't mind if they jump the tracks of the original DB. (Also, apparently the ki battle towards the end of the film is dead-on, and a new, more complete trailer will be coming out in December.)

That being said, I hope to God this isn't The Forbidden Kingdom/The Medallion reskinned to modern times.
