God is Dead.

For the record, I choose to believe he doesn't exist.

So I'm stupid for thinking that God created the Earth? That's what your getting at isn't it. X(

HF is correct. I skimmed over the site. I only had a problem with one line, and that was probably a joke. All the others were, depending on how you look at it, valid points, with just a tad of bias. Nothing terrible. I've seen much worse than that. It is, in no way, attacking. It is just a statement of, as 19 said, some reasons why people are atheists. If he was attacking religion, he wouldn't leave room for debate. It would just be an endless assault on it, with no questions asked. The fact that debates are allowed, a chance to prove the owner wrong, shows that this is just his beliefs, and that he doesn't hate them. In fact, if you read some of the pages, he once believed in a religion himself, and he was born into a Orthodox Jewish family.

EDIT: I'm slow.

It would have been a good idea to include the verse references for the audacious claims he's making for each assault he makes against the Bible there. However, a Book that has stood for millenia will hardly falter under the feeble and unoriginal barbs of a "revolutionary".

Quote:--Plants existed before the sun did

(Genesis 1:3-13)

And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning?the first day.

6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning?the second day.

9 And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.

11 Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning?the third day.

Quote:--Birds existed before lizards

The obvious error here is that the author assumes Evolution is true, and the basis for the beginning of life. Going into the Bible with the assumption that it is false and Evolution is true provides the basis for this assault. A sure sign of a biased and closed mind.

Quote:--Rabbits chew their cud

There's so many verses regarding this in Leviticus, and I really don't care to read it all again to refute this one.

Quote:--Grasshoppers have 4 legs

See above.

Quote:--Bats are birds

Again, see above.

Quote:--Pi is 3, exactly

This one interests me, and I'd very much like to see a reference number.

Quote:--The Sun rotates the Earth

I'm assuming the author of these assaults took a poetic verse out of context, but I'll leave this one be until (again) I'm provided with a verse reference.

Quote:--Slavery is fine

This one takes a fair amount of time to argue about, and it's 11:10 right now. I'll work with this one tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure what verse(s) this guy has in mind.

Quote:--You should hit your kids

This, assuming that physical discipline is a bad thing. Spanking is a vital part of discipline, I think.

Quote:--Gays should die
--Witches should die

Verse references, plz?

Quote:--Having to eat your kids is an acceptable punishment for wrongdoing

Verse reference?

Quote:--The disabled are inferior

Verse reference, again?

Quote:--Wives should be submissive

I know what verse this guy has in mind, and again, I'll need to deal with this one tomorrow.

Quote:--If you're raped, you must marry your rapist. Most likely, you're also guilty and deserve stoning (not the good kind)

I know what verse this guy has in mind, another I'll have to deal with tomorrow.

The point is, if this guy is going to bring assaults on a stable, long-lived book, it's on him to bring up the verse numbers. If he is unable to do so, then there's nothing backing up his claims.

Let this be a good example of WHY we don't allow religious discussion on the public boards.

I cannot BELIEVE it wasn't locked on sight.
