Quote:Task 1
For the first task, you will be working in groups. Your job is to create a new planet for Flubbs. You?ll be given full creative license to add whatever you like, but a few things are required. There must be at least three ?special people? (NPCs) residing on the planet, and four quests to undertake. You?ll also need to specify how long it takes to reach, and include at least one shop item exclusive to this destination. In addition, you need to come up with a special ?condition? unique to your planet ? this could be anything from a weekly TP increase due to the planet?s increased gravity, or a stat requirement to even set foot there. Last, but not least, you have to give your planet a name and description.
In an RPG, it is vital that the members have content left to explore, places yet to visit, and techniques still to earn. This assignment will test your ability to create new content that is balanced, yet interesting.
Minimum Requirements: Planet Name and Description, 3 Special People, 4 Quests, Travel Time, 1 Exclusive Shop Item, 1 Planetary Condition/Stipulation.
Task 2
Until recently, Flubbs was a fairly small RPG, and so most rule-breaking has simply been dealt with on a case-to-case basis. As the site grows, however, the staff have realized that the warning system is in a dire need of an update. Your mission is to revamp the warning system, deciding how rule-breakers are dealt with and how severe their punishments are (depending on the offense). Make sure to have specific criteria laid out for each offense (what counts as a flame, etc).
Whereas Task 1 called upon your creativity and teamwork, this assignment will determine how well you handle more ?clerical? issues, whilst working alone. If you didn't do so well in the first task, this is your chance to catch up.
Task 3
Your final task is based upon a concept you?re probably already familiar with. Staff sagas. You?ll be planning one of these site-wide events from start to finish. How you do it is up to you. Will you make a run the saga in a single thread, or in an entirely new forum? What?s the limit on participants? Will there be deaths? You get the idea.
But it?s not all about organization skills. A gripping plot is essential to keep the participants entertained. Remember to keep it flexible enough so that unexpected actions from the members don?t throw your plan out of the window.
This assignment will test both your ability to create interesting content, and your skill at handling the clerical side of staffing. In other words, it combines the aims of the last two tasks you have completed. This is your final task. Good luck!

Quote:Notes: I edited my original post with various additional ideas that I liked. So, you'll be seeing a lot of familiar stuff. Also, I had a problem with the Moderation Setup in Task 2. So, I got as close as possible.
Task One
Hello contestants! Welcome! As you are now about to go through a very grueling trial to become the next staff member on Flubbs! You will do various things to test all the skills we deem necessary for this job. You, the contenders for this role, will have to complete these things to our satisfaction before we can finally choose who is worthy of such a role. Below is your opening assignment. Good luck.
For your first task in the competition, you will be given control of one of the forums here at Flubbs. Out of Character, In Character, or forums that lay in between, you must manage them all for your time in this competition, as the staff are taking a little vacation. And when I say 'vacation' I mean 'watching your every move like a hound.' If you are able to handle the members, are able to update on time and do a good job, you might just pass this task. However, if you are lazy, unable to do your job, and the whole place is chaos, you will, without second chance, be eliminated.

You will notice some of you have the same forum. This is normal, as you will both be working on it together.
You will do this job for two weeks, and at the end, eliminations shall occur. Now, hop to it!
The following is a PM to every single competitor.
Congratulations!
You are the lucky competitor who has earned ?The Shield? this round! This means the Shield shall block you from all elimination, no matter what you do. However, there is a catch. You must keep your role as the Shield a secret, or else you will be removed from the contest. Now, you can go relax or keep up with your duties. Either way, you?re good to go for this task.
Task Two
Well done, contestants! Most of you kept on working, even with the Cursed Shield on your backs! Give yourselves a quick pat on the back, and get ready for your second task in the competition! Good luck.
For this round, you will be divided into two teams, in which you will each work together to create a saga. It can be any saga you like, from tournaments to story, as long as you all plan it out to the point where it is hostable. Try to make it rather complex, we aren't looking for 'big fight.' We are looking for some originality here. So, come up with something fresh. At the same time, you?ll have to come up with a couple of new quests to entertain the members. Make up a couple of additions to a couple of pages on the site (items, techniques, etc. Nothing OOC and/or rule-wise.), while you?re at it. And just to pile the workload on, you will resume your moderating and updating duties. Please note that the people who eliminated last round's work will be divided amongst you. If you do a good job with this, you will proceed. If you fail to contribute to any design, or are the weakest link on the team, you will be eliminated.
Updated List of Assignments
Team 1:
Random Guy 1: OOC Forum, Generic Planet 1
Random Guy 2: QSU Forum, Generic Planet 2
Random Girl 1: Artist's Forum, Shop Forum
Team 2:
Random Guy 3: Joining Forum, Spar/Fight Forum
Random Girl 2: Alliance Forums, Shop Forum
Random Guy 4: QSU Forum, Generic Planet 1
You'll notice some of you overlap once again, but some of you will be flying solo. You'll also notice you may have been rearranged a tad.
You have a week from this post to plan the saga and create everything else. Once again, at the end, there will be eliminations. Now, hop to it!
Task Three
Good job to those who succeeded during the last task. For those who were eliminated, too bad. However, for the remaining competitors, well done. It is time for your third task. Good luck, because ready or not, here it comes!
Alright, possible staff members, it is time for your final task. Each of your groups will actually carry your saga out, with little to no delay. You will also have to do the same for your OOC game. Each of your teams now has a leader, chosen by us, to lead you through this task. You have unlimited time to carry both saga and game out, and we wish you luck. If you fail to do these things, you?ll be eliminated. Even if you do accomplish this, you may be eliminated. This is the final task. Outshine all others.
Remember, you still have to continue your moderating.
Updated List of Assignments
For this round, all of your positions will be combined. You will have to handle all forums at once, and work together to maintain them.
Now, hop to it!
The following notice will occur about two weeks into the sagas.
Read this:
There has been a change of plans for this round. You will now have to combine both sagas on the fly. Your groups will be fused together to better your chances of doing so. Remember, you cannot just go with a single saga. Both sagas must meet and the story must flow from there together. As well, all the additions to the site you made must be introduced during this saga. Unlike the unlimited time of your saga, you have to make this fusion, as well as all the additions, within the week. From there, you?ll still have all the time you need to complete your saga. Leaders of both groups will be co-leaders from now on, and you will still have to continue your OOC game. Good luck.

On first impressions, skimming over, I'd say 20's team edged it out. But I haven't actually read it yet.
Any staff have some opinions?

Goten: Your layout was simplistic. Little detail and predictable tasks didn't exactly impress.
Twenty: The clear winner. Your Tasks weren't much more original, but they were quite detailed and well thought-out. The "Shield" idea is what really got me, though. Phenomenal stuff.

I like Twenty's a lot more. It was more in-depth and I think the ideas were better. I really loved the third task, which is what threw me overboard for sure.
