Who Would Win????

I love how everyone brings up Kryptonite in this argument. It seems as though anyone who goes up against Superman automatically gets outfitted with Kryptonite. Um, no?

Superman is stronger than Goku. Superman is faster than Goku. Superman has cooler abilities than Goku. Goku might be able to teleport, but Superman's speed is enough that he effectively can as well. He was once holding a conversation with Lois Lane, heard a distress call in a distant galaxy, flew to that galaxy, solved the problem, and got back in time before Lois had even realized he had left. Goku can't do that. Pssh.

...King Cold could. With a little work.

King cold could do no such thing 8o....

And Krillin brings up a good point...Score another point for Supes. Four to two.

Even if earth would start spinning backwards it would not go back in time... So that was a mistake in the movie... -.-

HF, it would have to be super-heated. And wouldn't destroying the sun create either a black hole or seriously mess up the orbits of the planets?

I have a problem with spinning the Earth backwards to turn back time. Sure, the rising and setting of the moon would be backwards, but that's about it. You'd set your planet back in orbit, not time.

In a battle between Goku and Superman? It depends on how you view their fighting styles and respects towards skills.

Goku has an ability like Instant Transmission--people say it requires a huge amount of focus. Though Goku did it with ease against Metal Cooler. Even if somehow Superman was faster than Goku, Superman would be initially heavily caught off guard by the ability and once Goku got the slip on him, Superman would find himself on the defensive quickly.

No he wouldn't be. Did you not read what I said? Superman left Lois, averted a crisis in anothe galaxy, and returned before Lois realized what had happened. That's called reflexes. By the time Goku got his bearings again after teleporting, Superman would have already punched him twice.

Quote:In regards to strength--I'd have to say they are even. All we've ever seen is Superman eventually 'win' all of his battles. Goku has actually lost some of his. Thing about it is, it gives us the impression that Superpower is some unholy fighter with insane strength. When in reality, look at him when he goes to life someone. Say a bus, or a giant nuclear reactor. You see him strain initially. Goku has no such problems--as Goku is much stronger than Piccolo and we all saw Piccolo MEDITATE and pick up the Pyramids and cause an void-like sand whirlpool.

Anyone who wants to suggest that Goku is physically stronger than Superman has no idea what they're talking about.

Quote:Beyond that you must look at their tactics. When as Superman EVER had any serious tactical moves? He adapts to his foe, other than that, hes winging it. He goes straight forward and may do a flank or surprise move occasionally. He often relies on throwing heavy objects and way to often relies on his strength to beat an oppennet.

If you're Superman, you don't need tactics, beyond "Hey! By blowing up this piece of shit, I can beat the bad guy!"

Quote:Goku not even in Super Sayia-Jin has a strength advantage over Superman, if need be Goku could advance and use Kaio-Ken for a short period to severely damage the Man of Steel.

Goku in SSJ4 wouldn't be able to SEE Superman.

Quote:Regardless, in the end. Superman may not die, but he wouldn't be walking for a long time when Goku was done.

My vote: Goku.

Wrong-o.

It's an actual Goku vs Superman with arguments.

It's a pen-paper RPG and it's closed so this isn't advertising =P

Incorrect.

Tactics are everything. Speed is everything. Beyond that accuracy is everything.

Reflexes do you little good against Goku. How many battles have we seen Goku in and he not even be on the screen--but fighting in faster-than-light combat with Frezia, Cell, Vegita, Buu? How many times do you see Superman do the same thing. In every show I've seen him in, there is a swishing sound and a blur of his outline. Goku is so fast the color of his body remains behind to show a false image of him when he leaves.

Goku is physically stronger than Superman. I again repeat my proof--and no one as yet to counter it with anything worthwhile.

Though I admit--nice reflexes yourself. Posting THREE minutes after mine was up.

Read my link, there are many differrent...'versions' of Super-Man, one being actually 'invulnerable' being actually unbeatable...

You missed what I said. Superman is so totally > Goku that he doesn't NEED tactics to beat him.

That's just stylistic of the people who draw them. Superman is actually faster than Goku.

The "proof" is to make it look realistic. He can move the friggin' earth. He obviously doesn't really have issues with the bus, but the drawer's need to make it look like he does, so that the scene actually has an impact. So, once again, you fail.

I fail to see your point. One of the various energy blobs off of Star Trek (the first one I think, one with the jellybean buttons) is immortal and could thus pwn Superman in the end. Regardless of which era he is in.

Too bad Star Trek sucks.

Quote:What I mean to get at is simply that Goku would pwn Pre-Crisis Superman like all the other ones. Even the link you gave me said Pre-Crisis Superman would be the only one to seriously challange Goku. That meaning the author himself didn't find it likely for Superman to win.

Likewise, the author didn't really know what he was talking about. He simply posted a whole lot of variations, so he looks correct. Trust me, I've talked to many, many people about this. One of the most common errors is overestimating Goku's ability, and downplaying Superman's.

Quote:Incorrect, that is hardly valid enough to be of any merit. Goku still holds on to being faster, until you can prove to me otherwise. I could merely say that Goku is 100x better than he is at any point in the show and that the manga drawers simply made him 'take damage' and 'look beaten' because how fun is it to watch a show where the Hero faces no damage, no challanges.

Goku is NEVER mentioned as going the speed of light. Never. Superman has been known to go faster than this in space. The only reason he never does it on earth is because he doesn't have a self-canceling aura like the Flash does to negate the effects he would have on the environment. That's it.

Quote:Either way, at best you come out with a stalemate. At worst, I am still waiting for your proof.

At best, you fail. At worst, you fail.

Your "proof" is easily pissed on and contradicted. But don't worry. You're in great company. There are a bunch of folks on a little site I like to call Gaia Online that believe the exact same errors that you do.

Quote:My point exactly. He'd just run head long at Goku think hes some pwning machine--and Goku would absolute pwn him. Just because someone is uber-strong doesn't mean they are uber-smart. Goku has years of combat experiance against Martial Artists masters of all calibers and all spieces. I think he know how to deal with a Man of Steel, far better than vis versa.

I don't care how fucking smart Goku is. Superman has a hyper-photographic memory. He has analysed every possible combative technique he has ever experienced. Even based off simple instinct, he would kill Goku. Easily.

Besides, Goku has never gone up against someone who could kill him, literally, in a single breath.

Quote:Its just stylistic of the people who draw Goku to make him like he is, when in reality he is actually 1,000,000x better and would never allow himself to be hit if not controlled by evil manga drawers.

Whoa now. I think you're taking this whole thing a little too seriously.

Tip for you? Superman isn't real. Goku isn't real. The manga folk aren't describing a real person here. Come back to reality.

Quote:Seriously--thats not a very good answer.

If it isn't a very good answer, than what kind of piss are you spreading?

Neither. As the main protagonists of both series, they won't lose. They're written so they can't lose. So, if they ever fought, it would go on forever.

Also, it depends on which Superman you're talking about. The old one was invincible, but the new one is a pansy.

Omgwtfomg you guys would argue over the best color. =(

Anyways, I'd have to agree that Superman would beat Son Goku. The only thing that would enable him to beat him is if he destroyed the sun or used kryptonite, but he's too stupid to know to do it.

As much as I have admitting it, the Supes got the upperhand. But I'm definitely convinced that Goku would put a hurtin' on him.

That one's trickier, Herc. I would say Spiderman would come out the winner, but he wouldn't exactly be walking away from the fight. Major limp/bleeding at least.
