Starting Bases
#1
You need to place the following in squares:
  • One castle. It MUST be touching water. It's your most important base so make sure it's in a GOOD spot. There will be a city right in front of it in the same square, regardless of where you put it.
  • Two villages. These are places to get food and supplies, as well as keep civilans.
  • Two squares of landmarks. You may make two seperate landmarks or one landmark that takes up two squares. The actual landmark is up to you (a forest, or certain field, or whatever) is up to you. These WILL effect battles

Lastly, name the above things you've just made. You may also name anything else that will help in terms of roleplaying fodder and I will add it to the map.

The other forces will know the location of: Landmarks.

They will not know where any villages or other buildings that you acquire are until later in the game.

I start these buildings, or do I wait for my army?

Rough draft. No names yet. I'll be editing it later to make it look not so crappy.

The castle, of course, is in the farthest corner, with a village nearby for quick transportation of supplies. For my landmark, I've used a mountain range that takes up two squares. In the whole spectrum of the map, in order to get to the farthest corner in an army's territory, it's four squares over or four squares down (in a straight line) for everyone but me. My corner is three squares down from yellow, so I figured a mountain range would provide natural protection or some sort of barricade...or something. I hesitated putting it in the adjacent squares strictly to keep any building options in mind to give my castle a little cushion of protection. That and I didn't know exactly what it would affect. The second village is in a square I feel would be less traversed, and nearby a watchtower potentially to be placed on that side, and also for any forts that may be built there.

Don't mind me...I think aloud... >_>
