Ooookay, so let's just say... COH IS AWESOME...*ahem*
1. Can you earn any uhm...spiderman-like abilities, meaning to swing from stuff like wires and stuff?
2. Do we have a super-group on Chubbs?
3. If anyone wants to know, my character name is Techno Flash, I'm a Blaster, Origin - Mutation, Primary - Electric Blasts, Secondary - Electric Manipulation...
4. At what level can you learn Super Jumping and stuff like that?
/questions
Can't wait to play again. 8o

1. There's no way to swing as a method of travel in this game. The closest you can come to Spiderman, in my opinion, would be to have a Martial Arts/Super Reflexes Scrapper with the Leaping travel pool.
2. We have a Super Group called "Pro Liao" on the Justice Server. You're welcome to join.
3. I'll send you an email when I get on.
4. You can start a new power pool at level 6. You can't, however, take a real "travel" power at that level. For example, I took Combat Jumping at level 6 on my tank. While this did let me move around a bit quicker, there wasn't a huge improvement. At level 14 you're allowed to take the third power of a power pool, provided you already have one of the first two. In my case, since I already had Combat Jumping, I could take Super Jumping at level 14. And I did. And it rocks. Personally, I think Jumping is the best all-around travel pool.

Argh, too bad the trial doesn't come with CoV too, I can't access bases. =(
I'll be on next morning for sure. I'm only at lvl 2 still though... >_>

no it sux
Okay no. But yeah, for reference:
Super Speed - Fastest, or close to it, method of travel when going in a straight line. It also has a stealth thing attached to it, so enemies might not realize you're there as you pass. This stealth used to be ultimate pwn, but has since been toned down. Still good though.
Super Jump - Slower than Super Speed, but with the significant advantage of having enhanced vertical capabilities. Super Jumpers can leap on top of buildings, allowing them to 'cut corners' occasionally that Super Speeders wouldn't be able to.
Flight - Slower than either of the previous two, so much so that slotting it for Flight Speed is almost a necessity (I've found). It also sucks up a lot of endurance COMPARED to the previous two. The benefit? It's freaking flight. You can go anywhere, anytime. That skyscraper? Land on top of it. Fall off a huge cliff? Just hit your key for flight. Want to avoid taking melee damage? Hover above the mobs. (This is more effective at lower levels than higher, where the difference between a mob's melee and ranged in latter is minute.) Flight used to be largely ignored, but has gained popularity since the institution of PvP.
Teleport - Used to be my signature power 'back in the day' before travel nerfs. Instead of traveling through the occupied space, you - yeah - teleport from one space to the other. Funny how that works. You can go a large distance in a single port, greatly outstripping Flight, and sometimes Super Jumpers. You can even continually port through the air, allowing you to reach the same places that Flight can. The cons? Big end drain per port compared to any other travel power, and no ability to hover in a single space in air like Flight (unless, of course, you took Hover from the Flying pool, and then all bets are off).
So yeah. Those are your travel powers.

They've made a few changes since I7. Flight now costs the same as Hover (or close enough) so you don't run out of endurance halfway across a map. You can even fight with Flight on (not really recommended) and be fine.
Swift (from the fitness pool) can now be slotted for Flight Speed as well as run speed. Meaning you can now have 6 active enhancements for flight speed. Its still the slowest travel power, but they did a lot to help it out.

Wow, Swift enhances Flight Speed now? I MISSED that somehow. Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to spec that in. Also missed the end change from Hover. Heh. Sorry for misinfo.

And actually, I can catch villians with Superspeed with my Super Jump with Hurdle. The hurdle increases the up speed to the height of your jump, and you go pretty good and the down stroke of the jump.
I have a character with Super Speed and I hate using it to travel, if it wasn't so useful for sneaking missions or if I didn't need Hasten I'd have respec'd out of it by now.
Although the Jump Jet prestige power makes it better. There's just a lot of spots where I run into these 800 foot tall walls and the only way up is some stupid 4 mile detour. Happens all the time.

I just laugh when I hit someone with Chilling Embrace. I'm sure they become very confused.
And yeah, I've outrun SS character with my Super Jump. I like to move it.

I've been Trick or Treating all morning on Justice...I changed my char to Techno Revenger. A Controller with Earth as primary and Sound as Secondary. You'll prolly see me later today in the same spot... >_>

Earth Control is awesome. I have an Earth/Storm controller. I may start playing him again someday. He's been sitting at 16 for a while now.
Metal 15 has a Sonic blaster, so he can probably tell you more about that set than I could. All I really know is that you get lots of cones, a couple of control powers, but no "fireball" or snipe. If that means anything to you.
*shrug*

For now I'm using Sonic powers just to decrease the defense/other stats of the enemies, and then using earth cages/burial/fossilate them.. >_> Gonna get on a bit later...

Actually, I know next to nothing about the Sonic Debuff set. My Sonic blaster screams and does damage, whereas your Controller with secondary Sonic Debuffs screams and makes shields and shit.

Sonic has, at least in the FF community, seen as a mix of their abilities and Radiation... Sort of.
Sonic has the same "core three" set of powers, buffing Resistance instead of Defense (two 'bubbles' and one AoE toggle bubble that adds the relevant stat and mez protection), in addition to having a slew of -Res powers that can be used on enemies. Sonic has a single target blast that does significant -res which is moderately good, and Disruption Field, which is a toggle placed on an ally that debuffs the resistance of all enemies AROUND that ally (read: pwn power to use on a tanker). They also have access to Clarity, which is a great protection to stack on top of your Sonic Haven power and offer double defense against holds/immobilization; it also gives +Perception.
There are other powers, but those are the ones I know, and consider most important.

Yeah, my bad. I don't know why I thought a troller would have a blast set. It was late. I was tired.
>.>
I had a defender with Sonic Resonance (different name, same set... dunno why) and liked it. I only played the character through, like, lvl 12 but the Sonic powers are awesome on a team, and the debuff powers are macho as well. Not to mention the fact that the Sonic debuff set practically gets a nuke as its last power.

the Sonic buffs go nicely with the force field buffs. I had a team with both of those and no one died for the whole Synapse TF. :D

Just for your information, people get really annoyed at the noise Sonic makes. I have since learned that Rad and Waff wish my computer did not have a sound card, and therefore playing as a sonic whatever with the volume down is very helpful.

Dude, that's cause you have your speakers on "omgwtfbleedingears" volume. The noise from Sonic attacks doesn't really bug me.
