Are there still more rules to come, or are you all done? I still have quite a lot of questions about the game, and I was just wondering. 8)

Which techniques are going to be impeded by the collars? Just the one's you listed, or will we have to register which techs we desire to use?

Will we have to make a character record just like in DA 06? Also, will we have to specify which moves we want to use?
11-16-2006, 02:25 AM
Yes, you'll pick what techs you can use. I'll do a thread on the details. Thanks Alex

What kind and how many men does each army start with? Also, do we just get a random number of soldiers to start with, or does our leader give us them?
How will fights be determined? Will you write them out like the last DA, or will you do something different? What is a more desiding factor you will weigh when writing the fights? (ex: The size of your army, the skill of your role plays, your Ki level, land structures on a space, etc.) Are there any more soldiers or units that will be introduced? If you manage to kill PC characters in the saga, will your rewards be greater? If you are the first to die in the saga, but your team wins, do you recieve a bigger prize? Finally, are there going to be spaces that will be like the forbiddon zones in the last DA in where you stay in longer than nesscesary, you'll die? (Or, how will you die of inactivity?)

You talked about how PC soldiers will be called "Elite" because they'll be vastly stronger and more skilled then the normal troop.
This raises the question: Do normal soldiers become stronger and more efficient in the fray if their army is victorious? ![]()

Quote:What kind and how many men does each army start with? Also, do we just get a random number of soldiers to start with, or does our leader give us them? 2000 soldiers. Leaders will assign the soldiers to generals who will then sort out their soldier types Quote:How will fights be determined? Will you write them out like the last DA, or will you do something different? Will make a thread for this Quote:What is a more desiding factor you will weigh when writing the fights? (ex: The size of your army, the skill of your role plays, your Ki level, land structures on a space, etc.) Writing > Everything else. Quote:Are there any more soldiers or units that will be introduced? Yes. During the saga. Quote:If you manage to kill PC characters in the saga, will your rewards be greater? Honestly, dunno yet. I've gotten a LOT of complaints about lack of bonus points that we had in DA04, so who knows. Quote:If you are the first to die in the saga, but your team wins, do you recieve a bigger prize? Probably not. Quote:Finally, are there going to be spaces that will be like the forbiddon zones in the last DA in where you stay in longer than nesscesary, you'll die? (Or, how will you die of inactivity?) No danger zones. Quote:Do normal soldiers become stronger and more efficient in the fray if their army is victorious? More experienced, sure. Stronger? Not really. There will most likely (I say this because it's not 100%) be chances to upgrade them into the better classes not yet revealed ![]() Want a cookie?

I thought each player had their own unit at the start of the game? Has that been scrapped?
If the above is true, then if someone chooses to be a general, then surely the commander can still just not allocate them troops? The difference between General and Soldier is kind of foggy ... can Generals still fight if they want to? Is it anything beyond roleplaying fodder? ![]() Bra Wrote:People are dumb, essentially.

Will morale play a role? If so, will one army be able to wage psychological and propaganda war against another?
11-16-2006, 04:54 PM
@SB:
No, your given a unit of soldiers by your commander. Yes, Generals can fight. The difference is a soldier holds no authority. NPC generals will be created by me, or someone outside the alliance, and I will move them in accordance to their attitudes (for example, some will follow Commander\'s instructions to the letter, some may disagree) @Jackie: Not really. No more then story fodder ![]() Want a cookie?

Have you taken some ideas from Advanced Wars and used them in this saga? If so, do the COs have special abllities like in the game? (ex: All units are able to move 1 extra square for 1 IC day)
Are things like sencor(spl?) pings avaliable, things that may alow you to see _ squares of enemy teritory but has to be recharged after _ IC days?

Watch towers only let you see 2 spaces out from the square it was built on, but what I'm taking about somthing that'll let you see into the heart of an army, but only a few spaces. I ask this, even though I doubt that there would be one anyway.

You do know that if there is one, you're prolly gonna get told to wait until its revealed and such, right?

He means that the Commanding Officers in Advance Wars, basically the generals in your game, have special abilities that can be used every once and awhile for one turn. Each one is specific to the CO. Vehicles do more damage, artillery has longer range, infantry moves faster; that kind of stuff.
