Final Fantasy XII

So I just got this today.

The graphics are fricken Sweet!

The battle system is new, and rather difficult...in my opinion.

Anyone else start playing it yet?

it'll probably be even better on the PS3, but it's on PS2 right now.

It came out a couple weeks ago... I hope its not PS3. Unless that means my PS2 sponatneously combusted into a PS3.

Anyway, the combat isn't really new if you played FFXI. Aside from the Liscence Board (haven't decided how I feel about the Board, yet) it reminds me a lot of FFXI.

I'm really excited to mess around with the Gambit system. Sounds like a very effective way of doing AI.

I don't believe Square has ever done the "Make it for one generation of consoles just before the launch of another one, then put that game on the new generation as well". Ever.

Come again? Its not coming out for PS3. FFXIII is gonna be the PS3 title.

@ CJ: Nah, they've released a bunch of DS/GBA games for Nintendo as well as Crystal Chronicles and the sequel that's coming out for the Revolution.

It's already out I think, on PS2. Unless I looked at the game uncorrectly while it was behind the glass shelf at wal-mart.

Not really into the FF thing but I did enjoy the FFX and X2 series with Tidus and the other characters. That game was pretty good so I'll probably grab this one too.

oh, I just figured they'd do like every other game and make the last installment for the next system. If not, then my bad, wasn't trying to give out false info. =P

Yea, that's one series I don't see going down the drain unless they screw up by like throwing in a crapload of racial slurs or something in the next installment lol.

Considering they've already announced two versions of FFXIII, I hope you weren't talking about FFXII being the last Final Fantasy.

Ha! Even if they do that, they just recover by pandering to the fanboys. Rereleasing FFVII would make up for anything Square could do to offend people. If the company is ever in trouble (doubtful) they have the ridiculous FFVII hype to fall back on.

You don't get it.

They could rerelease FF7 for PS3 with exactly the same graphics and they would make money. Lots of money.

People have been clamouring for a newer, prettier FF7 since the PS2 came out.

If they rereleased it with the same graphics it had in PS1, I wouldn't buy it, I'd just hook up my PS1 to play it lol
