Well, after over a month, the four of us have made it this far. We've got United left to deal with, and I think the fact that they're in the final two has inspired some sort of activity in them.
Unfortunately, I know that we're all burnt out. I've asked you guys time and time again to go all out, to give it your best, even if subpar was good enough for the win. I've asked you to take the time to write not one, not two, but sometimes multiple posts. I've asked you to trust me blindly when it's come to making movements, decisions, strategy, and the like.
So here we are, United against Dante. I won't lie. I'm burnt. I'm beat. I really don't have the motivation in me. The fact that I know Raditzu is going to be an issue for us really frustrates me, considering he didn't do anything all game and now he's suddenly jumping to United's defense. I don't feel much better either knowing that United has literally been in only one fight, if you can call it even that since they retreated and it was Outcast attacking them anyway. They've turtled the entire game.
I guess what I'm getting at is this. We deserve this win. We deserve to win Conquest, regardless of who we're taking on. We've done all the work. Who ripped into Syntech territory only days into the game and demolished their entire force? We did. Who took on Outcast, ultimately defeating them regardless of having to sacrifice a significant amount of our own troops and PCs? That's right, we did. What's United done? What have they done to deserve this win? I don't know about you guys, but I don't want people to look back at this event and say, "Man, that whole doing nothing strategy really worked best."
I want people to know that we deserved this win and that we earned it because of all our hard work. I don't want United to be remembered. I want people to think of Dante. I want people to think of Outcast as being the real opponents. I want people to think of United as the force that huddled in its corners like scared rabbits and waited until the end of the game to actually do anything because they lacked the backbone to make any real actions.
I've asked you guys to do so much, I know I have. But I want this win. I want it so badly I can taste it. I want people to know that when we said we were going to win, we meant it. I want people to know that our efforts weren't worthless, that United and their tactics isn't what mattered.
We started out with nine people. Now, it's just the four of us. Alex, Rei, Akane, and me. We're it. There's no one else coming to our aid. For the first time, we'll be facing a superior army. United has turtled the entire game and has gained 2000 troops because of the fall of Outcast and Syntech, so we're facing up to almost 4000 troops. After our allocations, we'll have just over 3000.
We're outnumbered, both in terms of PCs and troops. I want to say that we've done all the hard work, that all that's left is an easy win. But that's not the case. There is no easy win to this. We've done it 100% the entire game, and we're going to have to keep it at 100% for the rest of it. I want to tell you guys that we can slack off with this, but we can't. I know you're tired and burnt out; I am too. But do this for me. Be active when I need you to be, and I will be too. Find the inspiration to get the posts up when the time calls for it. We've earned this win, so let's go out there and take it.

You're right. We have worked our asses off to get this far. We've single handedly wiped out every team thus far and I can't imagine all that hard work being shunned upon because of one team simply being skimming by collar explosions with exactly 300 word posts. That's ridiculous. We came into this with the idea that we would win, hands down. I think we've all got something to prove in this competition, ALL of us. Rei, Broli, and myself have all been known as the "inactives". Well now we're here and we've done what most probably didn't expect us to do. We've pumped out post after post and I be damned if we'll be stopped now. Akane, you're probably wanting to win this equally as much as we do since you're rather new and looking to prove yourself. We've all got our reasons to be here and now is the definite time to prove it.
It all really falls back on this: I realize we've all got our shit stacked on us. We're got school, work, staff issues, etc, but we've all committed ourselves to this competition. We've worked our asses off while our competition sat on their hands just waiting for this to happen. We can either push ourselves to write our asses off, or pretty much forever feel like we came short solely because when it counted most, we choked up and allowed a half-ass strategy to make it seem as though hard work gets you no where. I'm not interested in seeing that scenario. I want people to realize that we won; and that we won with each and every person putting their hearts into winning this. I know I'm being over dramatic, but we've all worked hard for this moment. Theirs no way we can settle to come that close, and come up short. Theirs just no way.
Anyways, as of now, we're planning to peacefully meet up with United. I don't know how that will look with us practically trying to kill off their guys with assassins, but nonetheless. We'll arrange to meet together, and have all of our high ranking officers fight each of them. This way we don't have deal with the + hundreds of troops they have over us or however many it is. We may end up flanking them also with troops to surprise them near the end. I think our activity will be a lot better than theirs, though. I'd like to see all of us RP as much as physically possible. I'll definitely be doing so. I don't see United being that active in this, but we can't second guess them. We've got to be strong - as strong as possible.

It will seriously be a load of crap if Rad and the other slackasses win simply because we got burnt out trying to keep the event interesting by actually playing the game while they all simply sat and tried to slide through ever collar explosion but otherwise wait the entire game out. We are now burnt out, and they essentially have just started the game off completely fresh, able to do anything they want with no problems. And Rad's entire reason for going to them (which WHO SAW THAT COMING) was due to being pissed off at me for inviting Akane. Funny, that one.

Er, well, actually, it's all four of us.
If you guys have some other strategic ideas, throw them out here.
I'm hesitating on the order for the assassins to strike. Right now we have nearly 60 waiting to kill off their officers.

I could care less whether they have 1,000 more or 2,000 more soldiers than we do. At this point, I'm motivated to work my ass off in this fight. I see our chances as pretty damn high, honestly.

Well, as long as my computer holds out I can be very active in the final fight 3-4 posts a day. Perhaps more, depending.
If everyone does that many posts a day, and we have a good strategy, can we honestly lose? I don't see their members posting two times a day.

I'm actually curious.
Burter, does us having all this territory actually affect ANYTHING? Will we grow at a higher rate than them or something like most games, or are they able to sit on their few squares and barricade themselves and literally force us to go in there with lower numbers?
I'm mainly wondering if by having the majority of the villages if we'll be able to increase our numbers any by doing this to help gain an advantage.

What do you guys think we should do about these 60 assassins in their army?
Should I give the order to strike, or do you think we should wait?

For the moment, wait. I'm wanting to know from Burter if waiting will at all help us, or are we basically forced to go up against a bigger army with completely fresh writing abilities (since they coasted the entire ride here) on their own Forts with more advantage.

Gokua already told me he won't fight me, and he is going to ignore me in the fight.
Edit: Because I'm a girl. ~_~

Somehow I knew that would be the response.
Or, I could ignore him and you could leap out of nowhere, stabbing him in the back.
Akane isn't much of a back stabber! ~Clings~

Wow. I was kidding/or trying to piss United off with the whole "Yeah, you guys didn't earn your spots at all", but that post by 16 kind of aggrivated me. "Oh, that idea is boring. This is a war". Those guys have been in no battles and we've worked our asses off for four or more, not including the villages we've taken over. What a joke.

Well, you have more "emergency soldiers", as in the guards and villagers of the places you own. Aside from that, no, there was nothing said when I made the rules about any bonuses for having tons of land. The idea is that ultimately they have to take each and every base to win, as long as you have an NPC still alive. Until they get that NPC, they'll have to continue trying for each base.
Also, I understand you're upset with how United played the game, but I hope you guys understand I have nothing to do with how it's played. The complaining is really annoying me.

I don't think anyone is upset at you specifically, unless I've missed something.

The complaining is us bitching to each other, which is going to be expected really. We aren't complaining to you about it so much.
But ok, so then what I'm thinking guys... We should have two NPCs stay in our land, walking around and literally just building Fortresses repeatedly. They'll have no idea what location our NPCs are on until they get close, which might mean moving onto a Fortress square to do so. So we should have our PCs and our soldiers go attack them while they are trying to get defenses up, and if we lose, it comes down to them having to slowly move through numerous locations to get to our NPCs, as long as our NPCs don't just decide to "give up" or "go fight them head on" once we ourselves are dead.
If this is the case, we can win this. Despite us having a disadvantage in having gotten fewer NPCs in the beginning, haha.

We could have created more NPCs whenever we wanted to.
It looks good.
Suggestions for the 1000 troop thing? I'm thinking getting a lot of catapults, basically because I'm guessing that there will be several occassions that we are up against a defensive building and catapults would make taking it much easier.

Maybe, just AoE the living shit out of them. See if they can get through the splash damage if we set the catapults so they essentically cover a square instead of a line, if you get me there.

O would be the Catapults. This would potentially cover ALL the ground in front of the Catapults from one end to another, whereas...

Would simply mean the line of X would get struck, but after that initial shot they'd bumrush the catapults. We could have our guys intercept them on the way, but we'd lose men that way where as the other route simply kills anything that crosses the field, where are man will simply guard the sides.

A is the Assualt guys, that will cover those lines in a more direct point A to point B manner. Then they are backed by midrange guys that can help support the top and bottom areas that the C close encounter guys are dealing with.
We just have to make sure no Catapults get to range to hit us in the center or anything. If we can control this, I think this would be a strong maneuver.
Perhaps even have...
