The problem with the current system is that power level does not reflect writing. The staff have even stated that powerlevel now is a measure of how long you've been here, not how much writing you put out.

Edit2: That system is flawed as of right now. Not that I could, but I could boost AP/Str till the reset and quickly climb the latter in terms of PL, since that gives the most. Not that in 4 months I'd be anywhere close to someone who's been here for awhile, but still >_>

Ok, so if a QB has been starting on a team for years he suddenly goes back to the practice squad to give the freshamn a better chance? No.

I understnad how the tp/ ki level thing works. Im not dense. But people deserve compensation for both their writing AND their time. Time spent on this site should come with its own rewards as well. I thought the chart I presented above was very resonable. All staff has to do is determine what "x" equals and go from there.

If we're to use PL insteado of ki this can still be applied as I used ranks in my chart. My suggestion allows for people to be within shooting range of the vets, yet rewards time AND effort of those who have been here previously.

edit 2: Sure 18, MK might rank higher than you, but when staff applies this to their reset, you would now be within shooting range of him if you work for it, where as now you have no chance. Yet, at the commencemnt of the new system, he wouldsimply have a bit more power than you in accordance to his longevity.

That's why staff would make the difference yielded between ranks marginal. Further, you won't climb that high very quickly because I've basically been doing it since I got here and it doesn't get you too too far.

And you don't think them getting to keep their abilities is a reward enough for their time?

Hell, those things are more a reflection of actual performance than powerlevel is, as they are given out as a reward for writing quality in sagas and such. They still get to keep those (last time I checked), so isn't that enough? It's not like they're getting nothing.

Aqua: 18 was pointing out that writing supposedly does matter for powerlevel, as she now exceeds MK, who she was below in the beginning. Of course, I think her surpassing him has more to do with the fact that he was deactivated for the longest time and never got TP. If he had bothered to keep up with bi-monthly posts, I'd be willing to put dimes to dollars that the gap would still be quite significant.

Also; Yes, the current system represents how long someone has been here, but in the same sense it doesnt. Someone could simply pump mentals, and be low on the ki chart, which would give them less of a boost the was Aqua is saying. Just saying though >_>

You guys are also avoiding the fact that these rank boosts would be marginal. A light edge to indicate someone's previous work and longevity. I'm not asking for a life changing power difference, just a recognition of the ranks people have earned up to this point.

Upon further reflection, I agree with Sno. The abilities are enough, and a far better reflection of effort put forth. An incremental increase in stats seems unnecessary, and it's going to be very small anyway. Seems not worth doing.

I don't agree, however. My character has such a personality that he has only just gotten to the point where i've put my TPs into his mentals. Instead, I've put all my TPs into boosting his ki level. So because I didn't know this switch was coming and that all my work (aka my ki level) was about to be erased, I suffer? Im sure im not the only one, but not every character has his/ her stock in their techniques. I'm sorry, but the techniques are NOT enough of a compensation for everyone. Some characters, like mine, were built around their relative power.
