I think this will stop switching and it is a good idea . . . i guess. I dunno who I'd be. I like namekians, saiyans, androids and humans.
Could I be a half human/half saiyan?
EDIT: I want to see MC and DM try to join when this goes down.

Probably. Look at Burter's disclaimer. But I'm almost positive.

Then I'd do that.

We're not faulting you for that, Vegeta. It's a perfectly reasonable decision on your part. We're just trying to create a system where no one feels pressured to change for histories, and histories themselves aren't weirded with.

I did not go ape shit. I din't go crazy, and I don't need to chill (if any of those comments were directed at me). Some staff would do well to learn that members can strongly dissagree without going "apeshit." Other members need to learn that it is ok to disagree with staff, and doing so does not require one to "chill out."
And Krillin, seriously... who are you talking to? I'm not sorry that I want to keep both my cannon char and, as the same time, role play for benefit in relation to the game. I don't agree with your way of looking at it, but i'm not knocking on you. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to RP for four months when I know everything I'm about to do is going to be wiped. In fact, I gave burter a suggestion to present to you guys that I think would be nice to emplicate.
And Rad... I wasn't trying to "get" you. I just defend myself strongly. It's the way I am, so when people make a claim about me, I WILL call them out on it. I don't want a cookie or cool points... I was just making my point. It isn't personal, It's just how I am.
As for the "tentative" idea of having those who want to keep their cannon chars do so, but not allow them to switch I totally agree with superbuu on the entire issue. I like the idea of not being able to swtich from canon to canon, but the MIA thing is a trip rope perhaps.
Thank you to those who are taking the time to discuss this without getting little jabs in on people they don't agree with.

I wasn't necessarily talking to you Aqua, though you are the one who brought the matter to mind. It's simply something I found amusing.

Retane's attack on Waffuru was completely undeserved. Not only that, he made the entire thing based off of an assumption with no facts to back it.

I suggested this to Burter, but I'll go ahead and post it here for public opinion as well.
I said that another large problem with this (the biggest for me) is that it renders all gameplay useless until the time of the reset. All things gained from here till the reset will be lost.
My suggestion is to stock pile the finished RPs from this point on. So, when a thread needs to updated, staff simply moves the htread to a seperate board until the reset. Once the reset takes place, all the finished threads from now till then will be updated and the members will be rewarded for their work from this point on.
This does NOT defy the purpose of a reset, because staff would nly be rewarding the work from this point on. ya'll said that the purpose of the reset was to let everyone start out on the same playing field. this ption gives staff the time to iron things out and gives the members a reason to RP until that happens.
And this isn't like a bonus at all, so thinking of it like that ispointless. Think of it this way, if staff could snap their fingers and apply a perfectly ironed out re-set to Chubbs right this second they would. They can't though, it takes time. Well... most members aren't going to set around and play a game that will only give out a set minor bonus for four months of RPing. Instead, look at it as the RP reset happening from here on out, and people just having to wait for the reset to get their rewards.
This seems like thebest of both worlds to me. It allows the game to continue as members will have a reason to Rp from now till then. And it gives staff the time to get everything done then apply these newly aquired bonuses into the new system after the reset.
I see where staff might say that it would be a lot for them to mod... but consider this. there are like 13 staff members that can split it up. further, ythey will likely have the boost system figured out long before April. They can start posting the rewards in reply to the finished threads just as soon as they finalize the process then just apply the posted boosts after the reset.
thoughts?

This isn't even debating. We've said "nothing is concrete" many times in this thread. People didn't seem to read that.

@Aqua:
About the stats. I know you're upset about it, but look at it this way:
I lose a lot more than you.
Hell, look at Rad. He loses two power-ups and an enormous amount of ki. Probably several times what most people will sacrifice.
I understand your aversion to being stat-wiped, but seriously, think about it.
Yeah, you won't be stronger than some people anymore. But think about how many people you'll be even with; people who, before the switch, would have obliterated you without a second thought.
There are positives and negatives to this.
Hell, I've said before that I don't like it, but you've got to try and look at this from all angles. It's hard, I know. Believe me, I suck at it. But I'm trying.

Did you read my post Bra? My last post was about giving people a reson to RP from now till the reset. I'm not even talking about the stat wipe because it seemed like I was the only one fighting it and I was asked to stop.

Yeah, I know, but this seems like just a work-around to me, to get stats. =\
I mean, I don't care about stats. I've made that abundantly clear. So I'm not going to say I agree or disagree with your proposal. I was just trying to clarify some stuff, is all.

Then why don't we set that time to eight months ago, and make it a full year? A full year which counts towards reset rewards? The problem is, you're operating under the idea that we are required to hand out gifts for roleplaying. If you don't want to roleplay for a few months (or however long it takes), fine. Then don't. If we ever do make a gift for activity, you'll probably miss out. Four months of grading RPs DOES defy the purpose of a reset. If we allow four months, why not four years? At what point does it suddenly defy the purpose, according to your logic?
A reset means just that. A reset.

That's an assumption. Possibly true, but you don't know that. I know I'LL still be rp-ing, simply because I love writing under my chara.

I've decided on what type of character I'm going to be and I'm not gonna lie, I'd prolly be a saiyan. Heck, I even have a name.
