They have come to Monte Cristo, for the final battle. That was the report he?d gotten just ten minutes ago from his most trusted scout. At least two thousand units were a few hundred yards from the gem of the United Army.
?Gokua, you know what to do. We need to rally our troops, and get our plans in motion. Lets get things ready to roll, we must be ready before nightfall,? Boomed the android leader, standing tall and proud looking out of the highest window. Gokua nodded calmly as he turned, and trotted out of the dimly lit room. ?This is it,? Sixteen thought, as he too waltzed out. It was a short walk, down the spiral staircase, through the many rooms, and crowds of ranked officers. With a quick twist of a doorknob, the machine warrior exited the keep, and immediately noticed the rush of soldiers around the grounds. ?My soldiers, keep your cool. Do not fret because the enemy is at our doorstep, we?ve been preparing for this battle now for at least one week. This will be a grand battle, one that will make the gods proud. A battle that we will fight till the end with pride and honor for the United army. Not only will we fight, but we will win this epic finale in honor of Garlic Jr.? Android Sixteen roared, in his usual monotone voice. Instantly the massive crowd of United soldiers roared in return, thrusting there weapons and fists into the air. They were as psyched as he?d ever seen a group of men since his return to life only a few weeks ago, and it was most certainly a sight he?d never forget. ?Now men, you all know what to do, so get to it! Defend Monte Cristo until the end. Defend the trenches, the gates, the walls, the keep, and most importantly defend your comrades. Protect the ones who?ve stood with you since the beginning, the ones who you?ve fought beside, slept beside, and marched beside,? the apparatus continued, attempting to rally his troops even further. With another roar of the crowd, the United troops scattered into their respective groups. Each group heading into their positions, inside and out with weapons in hand. It was only a matter of time now, before it was finally time to test what his army was made of. ?Paragus, get out there and lead those men. I expect you to win your respective battle, that is your goal. Don?t fail me saiya-jin, I know it?s in your blood,? Sixteen explained, grabbing his general by the shoulder. Paragus nodded, then pumped his fist once.

Everything 16 said deeply affected the saiyan warrior. He knew what had to be done and he was ready to do it. Monte Cristo had been billed as United?s safe haven but it would soon become the final resting ground for the souls of thousands of good men. Men that put their life on the line to fight for United and they would not be denied. Para would let this war end only one way and that would be a United victory. 16 orders were received and he was ready to carry them out to the fullest extent of his ability.
Tension filled the smoke clouded atmosphere of the war zone known as Monte Cristo. Sweat poured down the face of the saiyan warrior. The time was now all that had happened before would all lead up to this moment. This was the end, the climax. The showdown that would finally put an end to this long, exhausting journey that was Dante?s Abyss. A sea of saluting soldiers stood before the proud General and he knew that most of them would not make it, but they would not go down without putting up one hell of a fight. Para adjusted his saiyan armor and slid down his white glove. He cleared his throat and prepared the army for their leave. He took one glance at his path to the walls of the fort gave his troops the signal to begin the long march. The smell of smoke littered the air and Para took in a deep breath. He had gotten used to it now, the air was never clean in times of war. The march had begun. The troops followed close behind their General trekking across the debris filled ground. Para heard a sound he had never heard before. A sound that since the day he had arrived in the war zone had eluded him. Silence. Only the heavy gasps of men taking deep breaths for it could be their last. Only the sounds of guns and weaponry clacking together as the men pounded their black boots to the surface of the planet. Para liked this sound, it was a sweet symphony of war and it soothed his every nerve. The march seemed like it had taken days, but it had only been a couple of minutes. The open gates of the outer walls were in clear view now. They were opened for the troops arrival. There was no turning back now, it was time. Soldiers immediately sprinted to their positions and immediately got ready. Even though Para was standing just outside the walls of the fortress, he felt like he was miles away from Cristo. There was never a time in this entire war where Para feared for his life. Never a time until now. Soldiers were kneeling over and throwing up all their fears. The nerves were setting in. All the thoughts of what could happen to them finally set into their minds. The saiyan too felt weak but he wasn?t gonna show them that. He had to stay strong, stay strong for all the men that couldn?t stay strong on their own. Para stood tall at the center of all the panic and cleared his throat. ?Everyone listen to me.? Para yelled to all the men causing a mass halt of activity. ?This is the time that has been built up for weeks. This is where it ends. It ends here and now with the destruction of Dante. Cristo is too big to fall, to strong to fall. Just like each and every one of you. You have the strength and the courage to stand up to anything or anyone that comes in your path.? Para halted his speech for a moment to take in the emotions that were flowing toward from all the soldiers standing before him. ?We will win. I guarantee it. Even if each and everyone of us fall here today we have done our best and that makes us winners. We will take as many of those bastards with us.? Some smiles surfaced around the crowd of men. ?Now lets do this. TO VICTORY! TO UNITED!? Para yelled raising his fist into the dark clouded sky of the mighty fortress. The soldiers seem rejuvenated as they rallied each other to there posts. They weren?t scared anymore, they had no nerves. There were no images of death and fear of the unknown running through the minds. Para had got it right, he had gotten them ready to go. He had also helped himself believe in what they could do. The saiyan was ready to fight, he wouldn?t be denied Victory.

Battle Statistics
United: 2140 Combat Soldiers Dante: 3314 Combat Soldiers United has sent trenches all around the Fortress. Dante will have to go through the main gate or raise their ladders to make up for the distance to the walls. They also have implemented catapults into their defense. Dante has almost two dozen catapults in their army, poised to attack. The battle begins when Dante charges. ![]() Want a cookie?

The sound of the rubber combat boots pounding against the ground behind him was notice enough. Defense was key, and this gate was the most important part of the wall. Sixteen stood between it and the Dante forces that were bound to charge at the drop of a dime.
Another set of soldiers were just behind the gate, waiting for orders. They?d be his back-up units in case the charge was overwhelming. Sixteen stood calmly, scanning the battlegrounds. The temperature was a breezy sixty eight-degree?s, with clouds emerging from the east. Rain was due at any moment, he was sure of it. Checking over his systems once more, the android tapped into his super computer brain. Power Supply, functioning at one hundred percent. Weapons, all operational. Main and battle systems, all running smoothly. It was then, when his zoom function caught the bulk of the opposition?s army. ?Hiro, bring out the reserves. I?m sure we?ll be needing them here. Paragus will take the bulk of the pressure, but it?s up to us to relieve him when that time comes,? Sixteen monotoned. With the order, the gate opened once more. The sound of metal on metal was the only thing he could here as the android watched his remaining troops exit Monte Cristo, and stand guard at the door. Hiro stood next to him, checking his own pair of binoculars. ?What a dreary day for the end of a war, don?t you think?? the Commander asked, trying to keep his general?s mind off of the battle. ?Yes it seems as if you are right. I expect rain soon, don?t you think?? replied the soldier, quickly. Sixteen nodded once, acknowledging his ranked officers thought. He could tell that Hiro was trying his absolute best not to show any fear in his posture or tone, and his best was very good indeed. There was nothing noticeable about him, or any of the troops in sight that suggested fear, but more of pride and honor. Now he could only trust his own instincts, as well as the soldiers around him. There were so many different things that needed to happen in the next few minutes, the average man would go insane with anxiety and pressure. But the android only increased his coolant mixture, and there was nothing to worry about. ?These are the people who killed my savior Hiro. These are the ones who killed Garlic, should we let them trample us over?? questioned the orange hared commander, looking down at his companion. Again, Hiro nodded in agreement. Sixteen knew that Hiro was a strong follower of Jr.?s ways, and had pushed for him to become commander at least a month ago. There was no way he?d let there commander get off the hook, not ever. ?System power-up restrictions level one nullified, battle systems ready!?

The Dante ranks were assembled to protect the catapults. If United wanted to get at the catapults, they would have to go through the Dante army, and Dante wasn?t about to let anyone by without a fight. The catapults whizzed and whirred, creaking as they prepare to attack.
?It?s time!? Broli roared. ?Begin fire!? With these words, a hail of catapult fire erupted from a dozen of its holders, crashing through the sky. With only moments passing by, they ripped into the fortress. Before now, Monte Cristo had been known as the gem of the United force. It?s structure had been built from only the purest marble of pearly color. Truly, it was a sight of magnificence. After the battle, however, it would be reduced to nothingness. Broli could only wince as the first series of catapult fire slammed against the fortress, the beauty of the structure already crying out for mercy. ?Sir, should we prepare a second strike?? A guard asked the Saiya-Jin Commander. Broli nodded. ?Yes. Tell them to fire at will.? He took a step forward. ?United? Today you have retreated to your fortress, but I shall make it your tomb.? The catapults were prepared, a second exchange about to occur. ?Force them out! If they want to hide in that fortress, then we?ll bury them in it!? The Commander furthered. His Lieutenant, Reijin, was at his side. ?Perhaps we should begin a direct assault on the fortress.? ?No!? The Commander snapped in such a way that Reijin found himself surprised at his Commander?s disrespect. Broli found himself surprised as well, wiping the sweat from his brow as he stammered to restate his words. ?I mean? Not until we are sure that we can gain entry.? The Lieutenant frowned but nodded all the same. Broli watched as another hail of catapult fire was launched away. He knew that a direct assault would be effective, and yet he had ignored it all the same. Why was he losing his tactical ability? I must protect my allies. No matter what, I must protect them. The words of Android Seventeen still rang clear in his mind. I?m nothing without them?

OOC: Edit time ran out. Wanted to add this.
"Spread out on the field! We have the advantage of being able to spread out. Make sure the catapults are dispersed too! I don't want to be crippled by their return fire!" Broli announced. Immediately, the troops began to move. They spread across the northern landscape of Monte Cristo, creating a barrier between the fortress and the catapults. The catapults, too, began to move, spread out in order to avoid being clumped up in one location. As each reached their new position, they began to turn and angle themselves in order to accurately strike at Monte Cristo. "If they return fire with their catapults, I want half of our catapults to focus on where the counterattack comes from. The other half will continue focusing on the walls and the main gate!" The Commander stood tall, his eyes firmly stuck to the Fortress of Monte Cristo. Taking a deep breath, he awaited the sight of the counterattack by United's catapults. Around him, the two dozen catapults of his side creaked as they prepared to fire once more.
01-16-2007, 03:59 AM
In a moments notice the sound of creaking catapults ended the calmness, then the scream of a dozen massive balls of rock sailing through the sky. Seconds later they passed the gate, and with a crash the beautiful white buildings of Monte Cristo were barraged with the many catapult shots.
The united soldiers stayed strong as Sixteen turned his body to look at the damage. It seemed the first wave had done some damage, but only minimal. Nothing had hit the keep, or any other major structures. Looking upwards, he caught the eye of his co-commander Gokua standing on a rather large building calling out orders. ?Gokua, return fire with the artillery! Then shift positions and hit them again,? the android boomed, shouting the order as loud as he could. The oddly colored human chuckled momentarily, then gave the motion to his many hundred artillery soldiers to begin there barrage. Almost instantly three hundred artillery troops lifted each of their hands upwards, and in the blink of an eye ki surges began to light up the gray sky. Just as Dante?s second volley came screaming into the air, so to did United?s massive artillery shots. The volley?s slammed once more into the buildings of Monte Cristo, adding to the small damages before. This time springing up small fires, that medics almost instantly took care of. Spinning from the damage of his own fortress to the hundreds upon hundreds of artillery shots of the United Army, Sixteen watched as Dante?s forces held strong as they homed in. With multiple crashes, the shots crashed against the soil creating massive clouds of dust and debris. Flames emerged from within the ranks of soldiers, but they too were taking care of instantly. ?Look Hiro, they stand there and take our volleys like they are BB?s. Their commander is a smart one, trying to force us out with his catapults, but we will not bend to their will. United will stand,? Sixteen told his general, looking around at all his wide-eyed soldiers.

Thompson waited with his weapon in hand. He sighed irritably, wanting to shut his ears to the roaring noise of the catapult fire. It didn?t help that they were spread out either, as he found himself wishing he could simply say a friendly word or two to a nearby soldier. Unfortunately, the Dante soldiers had been dispersed along the field, leaving the soldier to stand on his own. Had he been side by side to another soldier, he may have been able to speak over the roaring firing of the catapults. Instead, he had to be satisfied with the mere feet between him and the closest soldier.
He thought of his home on Earth. He had grown up there, despite being a half Saiyan. He had never known his parents, being raised in a sort of fight club that embarked him on a multitude of petty tasks. No, he was no fighter. Rather, his affinity for food had brought him the position of the chef, his goal often involving feeding the multitude of men who came to make a name for themselves at the fight club. Ramken Fight Club, it had been called. His tasks usually led him across the city, gathering the proper ingredients to feed the Ramken Fighters. Even so, despite his position, he had found a home at Ramken and had grown up much of his life under the influence of these men. It was one fighter in particular that had led Thompson to stay at Ramken so long. His name was Reynolds, an earthling that was said to have begun training even on his first day of birth. He possessed inhuman strength, and, being the owner of Ramken, could be found at the fight club at any given moment. It was his home as much as it was Thompson?s. Having witnessed Thompson abandoned as a child, he accepted the Half-Saiyan into his home. In truth, it was Reynolds that Thompson always pushed himself to become. Reynolds displayed the greatest feats of strength, bravery, and manhood, never lacking the pride to take a fall in a match when the other member?s ego needed it the most. He had taught Thompson the meanings of being a fighter, of being something worth mentioned years upon years later. He didn?t simply teach techniques. He taught values, values that would last regardless of the years of age, disease, and other detriments that came with life. Despite Reynolds? positive attention to Thompson, the Half-Saiyan?s other attention was in no way similar. He was the end of a multitude of fun, tricks, and the like that the other fighters played. When Reynolds could, he would defend the young chef, but this would only encourage more sport when the owner of Ramken was not around. Thompson didn?t mind. Despite the jokes directed towards him by the Ramken fighters, he always kept in mind the encouraging words of his mentor. Reynolds would smile, his eyes lighting up. ?Don?t worry. One day you?ll make it. One day you?ll be an even greater fighter than me.? Still, things were by no means easy. At any request by Thompson to participate in a fight, Reynolds? response was always the same. He would frown every so slightly, pausing for a moment as if searching for the right words. Even so, the answer was always the same. ?We?ve talked about your limits, Thompson. Not yet, but one day.? It was always ?one day.? Thus, Thompson would leave Reynolds? office broken hearted, his anticipation growing with every refusing answer. At last, he became so eager that he was asking day after day, Reynolds finally giving in. It was the toughest beating Thompson ever took. For the next two weeks, Thompson stuck to his cooking profession with no words. Still, his habits returned to normal, eventually continuing his routine of asking Reynolds for another fight. If anything, Reynolds would only smile with every refusal, admiring the confidence in the Half-Saiyan. It had been two years since Reynolds? death. Ramken Fight Club was closed immediately afterwards, Thompson finding himself living in the scum-filled alleys. He had only survived through Reynolds? words. ?One day?? That cheery smile had filled the Half-Saiyan?s mind time after time. Living in the streets, Thompson reeked of decay. He could often be found fumbling through the trash for a mere bite to eat. It was there that he found it, the opportunity to change his life. The dirty flier?s big, bold words were still clear. ?Dante?s Abyss: Conquest! Who will be the victor?!? With the utmost fervor, he had thus far made it to Dante?s Abyss. There he stood on that field, boredom driving his thoughts. The catapults fired again with their deafening roars, Thompson unaware of the counterattack that United had already begun. The artillery cried out, ripping through the atmosphere, and with a crash, consuming all in reach in a catastrophe of flames. Broli stood wide-eyed, his men rearing in pain as the flames consumed their bodies. ?No!? He stumbled to the closest victim, pushing the soldier to the ground and smoldering the flames from his bodies. King Vejita came to his side. ?Go get some help!? Broli yelled, ignoring Vejita?s words. Finally, the King grabbed his arm and at last gaining his attention. ?Broli, what are you doing?! Let the medics handle this!? Broli shook his head. ?No! He?s going to make it through this!? King Vejita pulled at him again as a medic arrived on the scene. The medic dropped to the ground, immediately attempting to stabilize the victim. The soldier screamed in pain, the medic trying to take his mind off the agonizing hurt. ?You?re alright! You?re alright! What?s your name pal?? The soldier gasped for air, his skin charcoaled from the flames. ?T-Thompson,? he managed. The medic smiled. ?Thompson, that?s good. You?re doing fine. Just stay with me.? Vejita pulled Broli to his feet. ?What?s gotten into you?? He had never seen the Commander rush so quickly to the aide of an ally, the Saiyan?s hurried and distressed behavior only causing drama at the scene. ?What?s gotten into the Commander?? A nearby soldier asked to his counterpart. Vejita noticed a warrior climbing to his feet. He nudged Broli. ?Look. He must?ve pushed that soldier out of the way. A friendly sacrifice.? He spat to the ground. ?Ugh. Disgusting!? Shaking his head, he tred off to return to the front lines. The medic attempted to soothe the soldier. ?You?re fine. Look, you saved that guy?s life! You?re some soldier, greater than most of the guys here! Toughen up, you got this!? Thompson struggled on the scorched earth, freezing at the medic?s words. ?What did you say?? The medic smiled, knowing that his reassurance was working. ?I said you?re a great soldier!? Had Thompson?s lips not been burnt away, he would have grinned, and if his tear ducts were still existent, a tear would have fallen from his eyes. ?I? I?m a great soldier.? With those words, Thompson took his final breath, his muscles letting loose as he left Dante?s Abyss: Conquest. The medic shook his head, looking over the body. ?S-Sir!? He began, eyes widening. ?I think you need to take a look at this.? Pointing at the right side of Thompson. Broli dropped to his knees, attempting to get a closer look. ?Where?s his arm?? ?Doesn?t look to be a battle wound. It looks like a birth deficiency. I guess he was born with one arm,? the medic announced, shaking his head. ?One arm? How did he make it into Conquest?? The medic shrugged. ?I guess he snuck his way in here. Still, I guess he proved useful if he made it this far.? The Commander rose to his feet, running his hands through his hair. Another dead soldier. He couldn?t take it anymore. He had to get out of there.

Akane was nowhere within sight, but Reijin felt the need to watch over her as long as she was involved with this tournament. She had a strict dotrine of trying to hold onto peace, and regardless of knowing the frailty of such emotions, she had still made it this far into the tournament, naive or not. Reijin had to commend the young girl for it.
Once more the sky above them eclipsed into darkness as the catapults behind him fired. His eyes scanned the distance for movement but United seemed as if they were unprepared for the encounter and were scrambling frantically for their defenses to be set up. The sky was encumbered with the whistles of large flaming boulders hurtling through the air like missles, as if it were nothing more than an eerie premonition of things to come cast down by a fleeing flock of ravens from a nearby predator. Reijin raised a fist tall into the air with his closed palm high. A sniper's bullet struck the ground three feet before him, and his eyes casually glanced down at the spot before a smirk crossed his lips. "Yes, we did our measurements right," he chuckled, speaking as if they could hear him. As if entering the eye of the storm, the sun began to reemerge from the hail of boulders and light once more began to trickle through as the boulders continued their path towards the United fortress. "Annihilate them!" Reijin yelled before his men, hearing a fury of battlecries from the background as his men ignited another volley in preperation. The first volley began to strike their targets in a thunderous symphony of death, their explosions echoing out the drums of war. The raven haired Lieutenent lowered his fist, signaling another launch of destruction through the sky, once more bathing them all in darkness. It was now that United's counteract fired, a brilliant flash of light sparking in the distance before the large beams rushed them, tearing through their numbers easily. The men, having been prepared before hand, tried to maneuver their siege weapons to the sides of the incoming artillery fire as best as they could while shorter ranged units collected their powers along the front in hopes of deflecting the strongest of the beams from causing their damange. Soldiers fell to all sides, but forcing himself to keep an objective view of the situation, things could have gone a hell of a lot worse. One of the soldiers nearby even turned to shove a nearby warrior to the ground before attempting to shield himself with his only arm. Reijin's eyes watched as the man's flesh was smoldered on the spot before his body was floored. The saiyan exhaled slowly before turning back to the enemy, ignoring the cries of the medics for help. "Akane!" Reijin called out. No emotion was attached, just a simple call with an expected answer during the moment between deaths. He recieved no answer. His eyes hardened a moment and he simply took one more step forward, to recieve another sniper shot just before his feet. "Hehe... Yes, I know you are just aching to fight me, but this time you'll have to leave your comfortable fortress to do so," the saiyan taunted under his breath. "If not..." he began, slowly rising in volume. "We'll tear your fortress down around you!" His voice had grown to another battle cry, echoed by the twangs and clacks of the ropes being cut and wood clashing with metal as even more debris was launched into the sky. ![]() "I'm gonna fuck that unicorrrrrn"

The grim thoughts of failure were severed with denial with each impending blow that was calculated becoming additional substance for United?s equivalent strength to Dante. Their forces were engrossed with talented fighters with an array of combative abilities and beyond doubt were productive in their techniques of warfare. Even with the confidence of a god and the strength of mammoth proportions; Dante could not predict such an outcome to unravel before their very eyes. Android-16 and Gokua were presenting themselves with admirable conditions and compelling their adversaries to ponder in the bewilderment of the fortresses exterior.
Queries were exchanged among Vejita?s armies, but so were exhilaration and a blazing excess of adrenaline that coursed into their every veins. It molded an impression of a lingering victory upon their sights which almost spoke a delicate tongue into their ears. It tenderly murmured and was not submerged underneath the vast quantity of skepticism derived from the brutality in their vision. Spheres of magnificent, yet traumatizing, conflagration out-stretched throughout the heavens to deduct the heavens and all of the wonder it once withheld. The colorless shades of clouds that sprinkled its rays of illumination, grace, and splendor over the trenches were not stripped away. The circular extensions of United and Dante?s ferocious fury tortured the once land of tranquility with its flames licking the terrain with the utmost damage. Soldiers were unleashing a defined tone of screams that consisted of extreme agony and was solidified with a fraction of trepidation that seemed to be administered from the catapults being ejected outwards to opposing territories. Dante?s entire atmosphere was throttled with the devastating scent of flesh that had been set ablaze until the meat clung with all might to the bones of once existing men. It was a fragrance that instantaneously instilled the knowledge of this war?s significance with just a faint breath. A putrid river of flourishing and oozing life-force tainting the planet; the blood that seemed to gush of enormous magnitude with even the miniature deceased warriors plopped in mind-boggling designs on the terrain. King Vejita was enthused with mayhem and this carnage could only induce his starvation for it all. His beady eyes were peering with every grain of energy they could locate at the fortress of Monte Christo. Even his nostrils were inflated and unable to resist the wondrous smell of blood that seeped into his senses and unlocked that imprisoned reminder of an event similar to hell as this particular one. The commander?s auburn skin tingled and this venue commenced to unravel into his own perspective of nirvana. One with men absent with the value of their existence and with the comprehension of their foretold demise. It was spectacular in all of it?s creation and the flames of hell itself barricaded them from withdraw. The concluding detail being a portrait of the skies painted in a color of beauty, but only to develop an irony to this hellacious setting. It captured King Vejita?s ideals with not even a shredded indication of inadequacy. It was also so amazingly similar to the sight of Monte Christo in itself. OOC: More to come, good sirs.
01-16-2007, 03:12 PM
The commander?s eyes were geared in unguided directions and could only flock to the most recent of disasters pertaining to his armies. A portion of his most intimidating warriors were slaughtered without a proper chance of survival and he could only resume his actions with an accompanied temper. His skin was transferred into a scarlet color while his aura gloriously molded itself to the definitions of his form. The saiya-jin?s tongue constructed clatters of undetermined language; only driven with minimal anguish and an abundance of rage.
Vejita I?s feet trampled into the saturated of blood with fragments of the liquid being flung in unseen directions. It confined itself to the shape of his customary shoes while his legs thunderously stomped into the soil to sustain a proper stance. If he dared contact with the planet of Dante, the consequences would stem into treacherous scenarios. Specifically, being that his guard would certainly be neutralized and the whirling ammunition of sniper rifles would undoubtedly pierce the saiya-jin?s opportunity for victory over Dante?s Abyss. Dante soldiers were being neglected with every measurement of feet he established. After all, not one entity affiliated with his ?army? reserved themselves in the placement of Vejita?s compassion. His compassion had desiccated and been cast to a realm similar to the fate he sought for this opposing army and for all those that demanded of his decapitation. Even with his heart void and unconcerned for the health of his soldiers; victory was still an objective that was required with the assistance of Dante?s army with undiluted strength. The commander placed himself in between the horde of his officers and the structure that represented all that denied him his goals: United. With every breath that he could sustain and with his lungs clutching the oxygen even in its tainted form, the speech that would detour succession or thwart a collapse of the forces began from Vejita. ?Look not at the shroud of fear and doubt, but at those that stand beside you. We?re brothers, bonded not by blood, but by the experiences we have undergone. The passage of this competition has molded us all and has molded our faith in the name of Dante. Together we stand below the heavens shaped by a higher power and we will not dare breath the thought of failure. For every brother they take from us, is, but ten that will be sought for vengeance!? The dialogue embodied all of the teachings that King Vejita had attempted to symbolize throughout their adventures on this world. Even though he judged no man on that day as deserving of life; they were all bonded by the name of Dante and all of the joy they had exchanged with one another in their progression. Every solitary battle that had been engaged, was this for this day. Every breath that they stumbled to seize, was for this day and for every droplet of blood that dared be relinquished from the bodies of those they vowed to protect that descended, WAS for this day. OOC: I guess I'm in that RPing mood. Had to get another one before bedtime. =O

Success was on his shoulders now, the shoulders of a three hundred pound mechanical commander. Everything about him from his posture to his tone had to represent absolute victory for the army he served. United was on his shoulders, and there was no way he would buckle under the pressure.
Standing as tall and proud as he?d ever done, Sixteen watched the onslaught of catapult shots into his walls and buildings. The android had lost count of the volley?s by now, and was busy examining the damages. He knew his calculations had to be perfect, or Monte Cristo and his army would falter. The men outside seemed to have suffered minimal casualties, and only minor wounds. He could not say the same for the inner troops, who were under the leadership of Gokua. There was nothing he could compute that would turn out salutary for the troops caught in the crossfire. ?Tell the snipers that they need to make up for the great distance by aiming their rifles approximately three inches higher. This will put them in range of the opposition, and as they continue to retreat raise your scope higher,? explained the android commander to a rather short and stout messenger. Another set of crashes plastered the walls and grounds surrounding Monte Cristo, placing massive craters everywhere the shots landed. Smoke rose up from the craters, tainting the once healthy and pure air. Debris flung from the impact area?s, slamming against the many soldiers and crashing into the trenches. ?Our forces, plans, and leaders must be the paragon of this tournament. We must endure this barrage of projectiles until the end, that is when our time will come. The time when we must rise up from our trenches, it will be our time to fight. These catapults are just for show, they want us to shiver in our boots as they launch there long ranged missiles. They will use there tricks, but we will not jump into their bear trap. The united army will hold strong in the fortress, until our time comes,? Sixteen wailed, pumping his fist in glory. His army followed with a raging battle cry, one that lasted minutes. It was key to keep there moral high as the massive rocks continued to fall from the sky. Monte Cristo was the gem of the United Army, but it was the soldiers who protected it that made it so. Just then the first set of snipers squeezed there triggers from just above the androids head. From atop the massive walls, hundreds of ki surges burst from the many barrels teetering at the walls edge. The surges screamed forwards, making a massive beeline towards the enemy lines. Only seconds after the first wave of sniper fire, came another wave of artillery fire.

War, it was something Gokua was all too familiar with. Finally, it seemed as if his past experiences would aid him through this monumental battle between United Army and Dante Forces. There were key differences between the two, however; during the Final Frontier, the terrain was distorted, and neither side had an overwhelming fortification to shield them from the large masses. During this battle the advantage was evident; United Army had a brilliant setup around their fortress. With trenches separating Monte Cristo from the opposing forces, they could fire off projectiles without the worry of foes in their face. The advantage would not be around much longer, for Dante?s numbers were greater than United?s and their determination emanated strongly.
?Men, fire on my say only!? Gokua exclaimed, looking back at the unit bestowed upon him by his co-commander, Android 16. It had been agreed upon that Gokua would manage the projectiles unit, which was mostly a band of catapults and artillery. He was also given men to run the expensive weapons. Dante launched debris launched into the air, shrouding the sky in thick smoke and countless trash. ?Men, look out!? Gokua yelled to warn his men of the upcoming cascade of waste. The debris crashed down in the fortress, ending the lives of a few proud soldiers. It was the first kills that Gokua experienced since the battle against the Njuri-Jins, and he failed to revert back to his old, coldhearted ways. He had begun to form relationships with his men, learning of their past, and of their families. And every time he witnessed a soldier die, he felt as if a piece of him went along with the dead man. ?Commander Gokua!? A soldier rushed over to the stunned alien. ?Sir, do we have your order to commence firing? Our men are ready!? he yelled, trying to make his voice heard over the constant groaning and explosions that took place around them. ?Sir!? Gokua snapped out of it and looked at the soldier. ?Commence firing?? he asked, as if he were still stunned. ?Yes, do so, now!? The soldier nodded, and ran back into the crowd of readied men. The orange-haired alien looked back forward, over the walls of Monte Cristo, and at the opposing army. They had brought every man they would find, and handed him a gun and some protective equipment. Their original army had almost completely perished from the constant fighting they were struck with, and what was the result was no real trained army, but more of a militia. His men began to prepare the catapults for the grueling work ahead. They placed the boulders into the spoon like part of the catapult. Then, once ready, one mere person unsheathed their blade, thrusting it at the frail rope. Instantly, the spoon like launcher fulfilled its duty, easily tossing the large boulders into the air as retaliation. The boulder flew without grace, but did what was intended; it fell down upon Dante troops. They scurried to evade their imminent deaths, but failed. The boulder did not take out as many people as Gokua had first anticipated, however; only a few dozen had fallen victim to its fall. Quickly, he whipped around and made haste walking to the artillery unit, stationed behind the catapults. They had not yet fired off their shells, and to win a battle of such proportions they would have to. ?Ah, Commander Gokua,? one of the artillery soldiers sad, greeting Gokua, and not forgetting a salute. ?Save me the display,? the alien replied in a mutter as he smacked the soldier?s hand away from his forehead. ?Why haven?t these men fired off their rounds!?? ?Well, sir, the thing is?? ?I do not want to hear excuses, private,? he interrupted; anger filled his voice. ?I want to see actions!? ?Yes sir!? ?Now, by the time I make it back to my original spot, I intend on hearing shells of these damn machinery being fired.? Gokua walked back to the front of the fortress walls. Debris continued the attempt to tarnish Monte Cristo?s walls, and the progression was apparent. Though the fortress held strong against the onslaught, it was only a matter of time until it buckled. Time, it was of the essence, and would have to be fully utilized if United had any glimpses of success. Unlike the mechanical Commander, Gokua was not the most accurate of men; he failed to make precise calculations, thus he ignored statistics and went off of sheer instinct. It was a strongpoint of his, but possibly the weakest point as well. He would merely have to see how far Dante would progress before trusting any true hunches that he felt going into the battle. He could feel the overwhelming power of Dante, however, and knew that they would have to match their numbers with tenacity usually produced from desperation. ![]() Placed 3rd in Dante's Abyss 08

The ongoing projectile warfare did not dawdle for one moment; catapults were continually being restocked with random objects, and then used, repeating the tedious process. It was a tactic that was used many years in the past, and was seemingly useful during the battle. Dante?s projectile weapons were guarded by the army itself?in its entirety, while United?s projectiles were under the control of one man. It was not a sign of careless planning by United however; Gokua was a highly respected man, with the prestige men followed, and would willingly throw their bodies into harm?s way to protect.
?Continue the assault!? the alien roared with great tenacity. ?Do not allow them to get comfortable!? Shots boomed across the sky. The shells that the artillery weaponry used left whistling sounds for all to be deafened by. Powder emerged from the heavy use of multiple shells, and it loomed over Monte Cristo, leaving many soldiers gasping for precious oxygen. The catapults? relentless launching of debris and other objects cast a soft layer of smog into the air. It sprinkled down upon the battlefield. Gokua stood tall, however, not intimidated by the countless pressure, and not left weakened by the waste the filled polluted the air. He was feeling the effects, but refused to allow himself to be thought as a frail man in the eyes of his men. He kept his posture, looking over the battlefield below, gazing at the Dante projectile unit, in particular. Then abruptly, an idea struck him; he was failing to use the catapults to their full potential. ?Catapult unit, cease fire!? He yelled, raising his hand into the air as he paced back to the catapult soldiers. The oiled mechanics of rhythm ceased, and the troops took a look at their commander, wondering why he decided to stop the operation. ?Someone, bring me the Pyrokinesis soldiers up here, pronto!? A few random soldiers stopped their duties and ran down to the dreaded ground level to fulfill their commander?s wishes. Gokua waited, but it did not take long for the soldiers to return, Pyrokinesis soldiers with them. The alien smiled. ?Now, you, the Pyrokinesis specialists,? he said directing them to the catapults. Gokua looked at a group of soldiers. ?You people, place the next object in the catapult?s holster. They did what he commanded. ?Now, I want you to light this chunk of shit on fire.? One of the Pyrokinesis specialists looked at Gokua awkwardly, but did not dare to defy him. He outstretched his hands and set his hands ablaze with fire. Quickly, he transferred the flame to the object, lighting it. ?Now, launch this directly at the catapult units of Dante!? Gokua roared, walking away. ?I want this executed from now on!? His voice left its presence with the men, motivating them to do what he commanded. ?Artillery unit!? he exclaimed. ?I want you all to direct your fire at the projectile unit of Dante! Attack relentlessly!? He shipped his cloak tightly around his body, and returned back to the spot he had become quite fond of, and watched his new plan executed?to the exact intentions he had in mind. ![]() Placed 3rd in Dante's Abyss 08

The trenches didn?t really give off a welcoming feeling to the saiyan. War didn?t either but two wrongs don?t make a right. A distinct odor of vomit and body odor filled the small confines of his battle place. He felt nauseous, scared, even terrified. It was finally time, him and his boys were about to shine. Para closed his eyes and thought about all he had to endure so far. He wandered into the deep and gentle confines of his mind. There was peace, finally peace. He drifted further and further.
BOOM The sounds of catapults crashing into the giant walls of Monte Cristo were causing a sense of caused the saiyan to snap out of his relaxing coma and back to reality. In complete unison all the troops under General Paragus stared as another catapult made contact with their beloved fort. With every hit more and more expressions of fear were shown by the soldiers. Para kept his head down and his mind focused. They were taking a beating from the catapult fire, but we were firing them as well. They were staying strong, they were staying United. The saiyan pushed one of his fellow soldiers head down, if it was up just the slightest bit over the protection of the trench he would be picked off. He gave a bewildered thank you smile to the saiyan and clenched his gun to his chest. The noise of the war fare was deafening, it was crazy how drastic it had changed from just hours ago inside Cristo. The marble laced walls of Cristo gave a vibrant glow, it was really the only beautiful thing about this battle. Giant craters lined the walls as if it were a design. Para glanced up at the darkened sky and saw the flaming fire balls passing over head resembling shooting stars. Debris filled the air, it was carried up with every gun shot and catapult connection. ?Keep you heads down!? Para yelled down the line. Along with the sounds of artillery the sounds of young men screaming there last cry echoed through out the war ridden plain. The saiyan proudly took a glance back at the gates and knew he was going to stop as many of those bastards as he could. If he was going down, he wasn?t going down alone. ?Heads down damn it!? The soldiers took what he said to heart and crouched down onto the stomachs and hoped for the best. ?This is like Whack-a-mole. If you peek your head up somebody is gonna pop ya. It wont be no rubber mallet though, its gonna be sniper fire and you wont get up smiling either. Where you fall is where you stay? Para tried to explain the hardships of war in a more childish and joking manner hoping not to really get the men feeling down. The saiyan gave a quick stroke across his thick black mustache and laid down on his back up against the side of the trench. A cool wind blew causing the saiyan?s hair to blow all over his skull. He sat in his spot shivering, but not because of the cold, he knew the time was close. The catapults wouldn?t last forever and it would soon be his time to shine. A smirk spread across the saiyan?s face. ?I hated those freaking moles? He laughed to himself trying to get himself off the thoughts of battle. The sounds of the screams, the gunshots and the crashing of the falling walls of Cristo brought him back into the cruel reality that was Conquest.

Koola looked upon the enemy encampment and draw his eye to the scope. He took his time as he aimed for a Dante soldier with his head a little too high. He searched all over the battlefield until he saw a private encouraging his fellow soldiers nearby. He aimed for the whites in his eyes before firing a single shot through the air. The Ki blast made contact with the soldier, blowing his head off. Blood and other organs exploded and covered the soldiers lying around him, shattering their false hopes they immediately ducked. They feared for their lives, like all mortals do.
The day was gray and dark; it was about to rain in a few hours. Catapults fired rocks and debris through the air, damaging the opposing armies by crushing the soldiers. Dante still fired upon Monte Cristo?s walls, trying to flush out United soldiers. But the red-uniformed men would not falter, and readied more artillery to be fired, and flaming debris be thrown. Koola himself had retained what Flemings had thought him about sniping, and one by one, slowly picked apart Dante one soldier at a time. He was crouched next to his changeling partner, and the duo together scoped out the enemy lines. Along with the two, the five other changelings he had met at Brinstar Fort were armed with snipers and were part of Koola?s small squad. They were located on one of the towers connected to the Fortress, and the seven changelings were the only ones there. It had a slightly higher elevation than the walls would bring, making sniping more advantageous. As he looked upon the Dante lines, he sighted another unknowing soldier and ended his life by pulling the trigger. He could feel the power he held in his hands when the vibrations from the Ki blast erupting from the gun were felt. He could simply pull the trigger and end a life in the blink of an eye. A power he had to use for United. He had heard that Dante destroyed his former army, the Outcasts, and the other opposing army, Syntech. ?However,? he thought to himself, ?Dante will not take United as they had done with the others. United will be victorious and win the Dante?s Abyss: Conquest tournament!? He shook his head and returned to the battlefield, where he was needed. Each individual soldier would need to put in his share and more if they were to win. Dante had much more experience in battle and a much larger army. But United also had the advantage, Monte Cristo, high moral, and great leaders like Android Sixteen and himself. And before Dante entered the stunning gates of the Fortress, he would take out as many soldiers as possible. He put his eye to the scope to scout for more victims. As he took down another soldier, he looked up to see the battlegrounds in full view. Being a changeling prince, he was raised on the battlefield. He had the finest instructors of both knowledge and fighting skills. He loved to invade a new world, and destroy all who defied him. But that was the past, and the present was now. He noticed that the Dante lines were firing another round of rocks and debris from their catapults to try and kill as many soldiers in the fort as possible. But then he, and Flemings as well, noticed that a rock was heading for their tower. Koola yelled for his men to look up, and they all saw the impending doom that was upon them. There was no time to climb down from the tower, and jumping could leave them venerable for a attack from enemy snipers. He had to think of something. ?Everyone!? he began. ?Use your snipers to destroy that rock before it hits!? Reacting as fast as they could the changeling seven took their sniper rifles in hand, and quickly took aim. In a loud bang, all seven rifles went off at the same time and struck the rock. The Ki hit the rock in the same spot, and created a hole in the rock. But the rock didn?t stop, and kept tumbling at the squad of seven, ensured to kill them all. Only seconds away from impact, Koola pointed his finger at the rock, and focused his energy into it. The red Ki reached the size of a small grape, and the changeling released it, into the form of a small Ki wave. It pierced the hole of the rock, and completely shattered it. The remains of the bolder swished by them, and hit the ground below. The changeling wasted no time, and returned to his sniping position. He found another soldier in his crosshair, and pulled the trigger.

Strategy was the key to this victory, Sixteen knew this was fact. The fact was that Monte Cristo?s walls would continue to be shelled, then eventually they would crumble. The reality was that United would not be able to hide within their gem forever, sooner or later they would have to come out. It was also fact that before Dante charged these walls, hundreds of there soldiers would be slaughtered by the artillery and fire shots.
For the first time in days, the machine commander re-entered his fortress. The inner sanctuary was scattered with craters ranging in sizes, as well as pieces of the walls and buildings. The first days pummeling had taken it?s tool on the fortress, but it still stood. Casualties were still at a minimum, as most soldiers on the inside were constantly moving in hopes of never giving off there positions, while the outer soldiers were well protected inside there massive trench. His defensive plan was so far a success, and that was just one victory against the opposition. United soldiers still stood proud within the confines of their stronghold, keeping their hopes and dreams alive. Then there was Gokua, the co-commander, who stood as mighty as anyone atop his platform. Spouting off orders left and right, while swinging his rapier in many different variations. Sixteen could only chuckle at the sight of such an enthusiastic leader as he climbed up the platform. ?Well Gokua I?m glad to see that you?ve still got your spirit and vigor!? Sixteen laughed, with a slight smile emerging from his face. It was the first time he?d smiled since his days under Garlic Jr. ?We both know that we?ve got to stay strong in the eyes of our comrades or they will lose hope. There hope and moral will lead us to victory Sixteen, it would be wise to put that in your calculations,? the flamboyant commander replied, placing his rapier back into it?s holster. ?Those things cannot be computed, but that does not mean they aren?t a difference maker. I trust you can handle the moral Gokua, that is why Garlic wanted you at my side. We work well together, and cohesiveness will be key in this victory,? the android explained, returning to his monotone voice. ?Yeah, sure thing Sixteen,? the human fighter laughed. The mechanically being knew exactly what Gokua was good for, and for all those reasons he was a great leader. A leader that would be irreplaceable in his ranks and for that he was grateful. He knew that he could relay a near perfect plan, and it would be executed without hesitation by his counterpart. ?You better not falter Gokua, or it will be united who falls.? The android thought, ?When will you attack Broli??

Dante has set up a defense against the fire catapults. It's not foolproof but it's better then everyone burning to death.
Meanwhile, the first Fortress wall has been busted. By tommorrow, it will be demolished. Dante continues to lose people from the long range fire while United continues to lose Fortress defense ![]() Want a cookie? |
