The idea is that ultimately they have to take each and every base to win, as long as you have an NPC still alive. Until they get that NPC, they'll have to continue trying for each base.
I misinterpreted this then when I asked about how is there any advantage to having done anything more than simply sitting in your base holding onto your soldiers and forcing an army to come to one location primed for defense.
I too may be wrong Reijin. I once attempted to move upwards into your land in attempt to take a tower. After conversing with Burter, he explained to me that i would just be wasting men for the final battle and that it would be easier to fight 1 large battle than 100 small ones.

Yeah, but can you guys honestly say you've earned the opportunity to be the last contenders? I mean no offense to you guys, but whether or not it was strategy, most of United skimmed by collar explosions. In my opinion, Outcasts was the most deserving group to be fighting in the end. But you guys have proven you can be active, theirs no doubt about that.

I'm not doubting the fact that we don't deserve to be here. Yes, Outcasts deserves this spot more. I am simply saying that we were not the first to fall, unlike Syntech.

Now hold on. I understand your view point, but really the only reason we did so little was because of you. You got there first. We were, really I was, too cautious. I was making sure we were secure before attacking OC. Your strategy was the initially more fun Blitzkrieg. Its not like we were "turtling" or leaching off your victories. We were just using different strategy, one that took time, and if you hadn't forced the issue we could have invaded OC within a couple days after you did.
Our semi-inactivity was due to our mundane preparations. I think the surgical strikes and withdrawals and counter attacks of my invasion plan before would have potentially been more enjoyable later on than RARGE HUEG NUMBRES, and we could have shone in that stage of the game. This is speculation because obviously yours was more successful faster, but I think mine could have been up there too. It just takes time to get there. I suppose this was the wrong strategy game for that.
Now as far as 'deserving' we can say that unless we saw how we performed after my plans came to fruition, but as it stands, and I guess thats all that matters, yes OC did more, I just felt the need to explain my actions.

I had just as much to do with everything Garlic had to say. Many times i asked that we stay in our shell, and others i asked to attack with force. By the time we agreed on something it was usually right after a massive battle started. One that we had no idea was coming.

That was short term plans mostly. I was constantly think of the long term, to the point of stagnation it seems.

You didn't understand what I was saying. I'm not insulting the strategy, it worked, obviously, and I wasn't downing you guys for not helping us when it counted. I was saying that judging from activity, Outcasts had done a lot more than you guys. Check back at the IC boards. I honestly wondered at times how some of you guys passed through collar explosions because I had to ask Broli "Did so and so ever RP?". I feel like you guys didn't RP as much as they did, and THAT'S why I feel like they are more deserving to be where you are now. And there were times when I couldn't speak to Broli on planning our next move, but I always attempted to stay at an active pace so if that's what you're saying, that makes no sense.
I wasn't trying to offend any of you at all, but I was just making a point. I also realize you guys have proven yourselves in the fight now.

Great RP, 16.
What KV pointed out is why I wasn't jumping at the bit to be in DA:C. RP Activity/quality doesn't have nearly as much to do as everyone thinks. Fact of the matter is that someone can sit down, work out some great strategy, hardly ever be active, and still come out on top. At the same time, someone can RP like nobody's business, but have a poor strategy and get completely owned. This is a perfect example. Outcasts may have been above United in terms of RPing, but its kind of irrelivant in the face of their obviously inferior planning. RPing alone means nothing.

To be fair to Outcasts, it was over as soon as Syntech went, really. At that point it was 2v1. =(
My main problem with DA:C was that it was always difficult to know what we could and couldn't do. Sometimes it seemed like an army would have to 'roll' (to speak in D&D terms) for success, and other times you wouldn't. Most of the stuff only came up during the game, rather than laid out before. Either way, I always like to find out first, and as for the most part my only method of communication with Burter was PM, it was difficult to find out quickly. It didn't help that it takes me a long time to write out a good post, and the battles didn't tend to last much longer than 2 days. >_> It seemed like every time I started a post, I'd be cut off by some new event and have to start again.
No offense to Burter - I think he did an excellent job considering the breadth of the task - that's just my opinion.

Yeah, I understand that. I'm not angry or upset over their strategy. Hey, if it works, use it. I can tell you I was willing to do any strategy to win, that's for sure so I can't knock them. But I was commenting in terms of RPing - this is an RPG afterall. And no, I wasn't being specific to just you, I was refering to a few people.

I wasn't really responding to anything that's been said, KV. Just expressing my opinion.
And it honestly never crossed my mind that you would be talking to me at all. For all intents and purposes, I really wasn't in this event.

Blah blah blah.
First off, I did not take offense nor did I question whether you were more deserving, what I was saying saying is that our strategy never came to fruition. This is NOT how it was supposed to be, us hiding out till the end. It was always in the back of my mind, but it never sat well. You just moved to fast for us and left us in that position. We would have RPed more, at least I would have and I don't doubt much the others would have, if we had not been preempted. I'm not blaming or casting fingers around, I'm merely stating how it happened.

I think you hit quote on the wrong post, sir.
Yeah, I understand. Even if it was intentional, I'm not knocking it. It obviously worked so whatever "bullshit" I call would be void under the fact that it worked. But yeah, I read you loud and clear.
But I don't deny the fact that United definitely stepped up. Which I'm glad, we didn't want this to end with one team winning due to inactivity. If we wanted an easy win, we'd have merged with United and ended this right off the bat.
