[D][U] The final battle at Monte Christo
#41
The electricity crackled the Dante troops, some dying almost instantly. In fear, some turned to flee, the confusion of it all only adding to their broken morale. As they turned to escape, they found a figure standing tall before them. Broli stood with his hands at his sides, his fists firmly clenched. They froze in their tracks, staring at their massive Commander.

Without a word, he took a step forward, followed by another. As if mimicking his movements, the troops turned and moved with him in total silence. As they moved, their pace quickened, at last erupting into a jog back into the fray. With roars of ?For Dante,? they pushed themselves into the battle, some to their immediate deaths.

Akane had fallen, yet Broli knew nothing of it. Perhaps, in reality, those who knew of the fall of the Lieutenant had willingly chosen not to inform the Commander due to his recent mental state. Even so, the battle continued onwards, and as Broli fought through the flanks of United soldiers, he recognized his friend, Vejita nearby.

His King was not the only face he witnessed. In the thick of battle, Broli could make out the mechanical Commander known as Android Sixteen. ?Vejita!? The King turned at his friend?s bidding, Broli motioning towards the United officer.

A single shot rang out, louder than the rest. In a flash, Vejita was on one knee, holding his shoulder in anguish. Broli was immediately at his side, attempting to help him up. ?Go!? Vejita began. ?Go after Sixteen! I?ll be fine!? Broli reached for him ever still. ?I said go! It?s time to let fate do its work with me, now go!? The Saiya-Jin known as Burori looked over his shoulder at the hulking android. Would he sacrifice his ally?s safety?

Run your course, Fate. You?ll find me in the flow of your streams.

Nodding to his King, Broli set his sights on Sixteen. Pushing his way through both his own troops and enemy soldiers, he began to run towards his target.

Who I am today is a direct result of the choices I?ve made.

Sixteen was thrusting his fist into the jaw of a Dante soldier as Broli approached.

I am not nothing. I am a Saiyan.

?I am a Saiyan!? he roared, tackling Android Sixteen with the momentum of his entire body. Both tumbled into the dirt, rolling over one another. Immediately, they each jumped to their feet, Sixteen somewhat caught off guard. Broli found himself standing eye level with his enemy, as the android?s height reached even his own. They stood in total silence, as if each waiting to see if the other would make the first move. And then, needing no further beckoning, they both threw at one another, tangling themselves up with an exchange of swiftly thrown fists.

With a crash, Sixteen jumped back, the muscles of his arms bulging at his sides. Broli skidded against the dirt backwards, leaning forward to halt his tumbling momentum. Again, they found one another staring in complete silence, neither showing a sign of weakness or fatigue.

Without a doubt, only one would walk away from the battle alive. Of course, each thought that it would be the demise of his opponent that would occur, but only time would tell the actual result. Dante and United soldiers clashed around them, giving no attention to the crucial face off that was occurring.

Still, Broli was ready to give everything he had in him in order to allow Dante?s victory, even if it meant his own death. The truth of the matter was that he didn?t just tell his men that death could be a greater gain; he believed it himself, and if death was to find him that day, he was ready to accept it with open arms. Even so, he wasn?t about to go quietly.

Run your course, Fate.

Dante forces continued to charge the hole, which had grown much larger since Gokua?s effort to aid his ground unit comrades. Dante?s confidence had greatly increased with every second, as the struggle to enter the fortress soon disappeared, and was replaced by an alarming flow of men. They easily made their way through the hole, like salmon gracefully swimming upstream.

?Continue fire!? Gokua roared, unwilling to allow more Dante troops to breach the fortress. ?Do not allow them to get what they want! Show resiliency!?

Artillery and catapults rained down their projectiles, crushing Dante soldiers, but not at a fast enough rate; they still flowed through the door. They no longer cared if they died, for the risk was evident, but victory was within grasp, and to defeat United would be far more pleasurable than defeating Syntech and Outcasts before them; this victory would mean the end of the competition.

Gokua?s blood surged through his veins violently, stirring up his adrenaline. He craved to be out on the frontlines, looking his enemy in the eyes before ending their life. The commander life was not meant for him, for he was a ground soldier, and to sit back and watch his army slowly lose was something he could not stand. He needed to attack Dante in close combat. His wits kept him at his station, though, fighting off his soldier instincts.

He had to make haste if he was going to effectively make his mark on this battle. He knew what he possessed, and knew that the things he could do were severely limited. He could not command his unit to rain down upon the hole itself, for he would kill an equal amount of United as he would Dante. Also, the gaping hole would dramatically increase, only permitting more opposing forces to intrude.

A hard decision rested upon his strong shoulders, and he could not choose between staying to his plan, which would allow Dante to ultimately win, or fire at the hole, which would insure victory for Dante. At the end of each path was the same fate, and Gokua could not tolerate that. He needed a change in plans, but one that would that keep victory out of Dante?s hands?if only for a few more grueling hours.

He looked back at his unit, still contemplating. His men were not experienced in the art of war; all they knew how to do was fire off weaponry, assemble it, and disassemble it. Assemble it and disassemble it; those words played through his head as he gazed at his unit. The wall needed repair, and catapults were mainly composed of wood and strong metal. Still contemplating, he looked back at the hole, which for the moment was left empty, with no Dante soldiers in sight of it.

?Cease fire!? he boomed, raising his hand into the air once more. ?Cease fire!? His men took a while to finally heed his command. ?Alright, another change in plans,? Gokua said, walking over to his unit. ?Disassemble the catapults and use the parts to seal that hole.?

They doubted his commands, unwilling to follow through with what he demanded. It seemed like a foolish move, and for the first time, they questioned their leader?s tactics.

Then a voice roared out, ?Fuck yo tactics!?

Gokua?s eyes immediately broadened with anger. ?Who said that!?? he shouted.

The brave man stepped forward. ?I did.?

He was clearly an infantry soldier. He was of African descent, and proudly represented his race with the typical ?black fist? tattooed on his upper arm. He had styled his hair into a Mohawk. Large, expensive gold jewelry hanged from his neck, and stopped at the start of his toned abs.

?Who the fuck are you?? Gokua asked.

?Me?? the black soldier asked. ?Why, I am Leroy Jackson, but call me ACTION JACKSON!?

Gokua chuckled lightly. ?I will call you whatever I want.?

Action Jackson slowly reached for his holstered pistol. ?Oh really??

?Yes,? Gokua replied. ?And if you whip that firearm out, I will decapitate you. Do not doubt my speed.?

He brought his creeping hand back up, and into his pocket. ?I see yo eye is a good one,? Action Jackson muttered, outstretching a hand to shake.

?Yes, it is, Private Jackson.? Gokua shook his hand.

?Wait,? Jackson remarked. ?It?s ACTION JACKSON!?

?Private Jackson.?

?ACTION JACKSON!? He struck a pose.

?Private Jackson.?

??Jackson??

?Sure.?

Time was beginning to slip past Gokua, and it was time to retain it. He had to execute his new plan with great precision to ensure a longer lasting United stand. ?Alright, carry out my plan. ?Action? Jackson will lead the way!? Gokua roared; the men responded this time. He had not forgotten about his precious artillery unit just yet. ?Artillery, continue to fire shells down upon the Dante soldiers that charge towards the fortress itself!?

Finally, the final task of this tournament has come face to face with the android commander. His ultimate goal was in fact Broli, the commander of his own respective army. He?d been caught of guard, but the mighty leader couldn?t take advantage of the moment.

The two stood opposite of one another, sizing each other up for several moments. Sixteen understood the mindset of a saiya-jin warrior, and had already begun calculating possible battle tactics. Both commanders knew this way the single most important battle of the fight for Monte Cristo, but it would be determined by the stronger will and determination to succeed.

?I was wondering when you?d come for me Broli, now our fates have finally intertwined,? the android explained, calmly resuming his fighting position.

The saiya-jin warrior didn?t reply, but instead surged forwards with his right palmed cocked back. With a quick thrust, the massive soldier forced his fist upwards and into the machine?s gut. The blow stunned him momentarily, opening him up for a perfectly executed sweep kick. Sixteen slammed against the ground with immense force, but his instincts forced him to leap to his feet once more.

Sixteen again, sized up his opponent, measuring the force of the last two hits he?d received. Blood from his companions that covered his body was now layered in dirt, tainting his bright green armor. To him the dirt only added to the symbolism, portraying the hardships his army would overcome to win the battle at Monte Cristo.

They charged once more, both fighters colliding with a fury of physical combinations. The machine warrior clenched his fists as he launched his first punch. His metal right fist, reinforced with the strongest of alloys crashed into the chest of his opponent, knocking him backwards a step. Broli quickly pushed off the ground with his left foot, back flipping a few feet and right back into his fighting position.

?Rocket Punch!? Sixteen roared, aiming his left hand towards the flipping commander. As the last syllable of his command boomed from his vocal system, the massive fist burst from its place on his arm, its destination the saiya-jin commander Broli.

Words could not summarize the skirmish of Monte Christo with an expressive tone. However, the pandemonium was conjuring a belief in the soul of the saiya-jin commander that was unprecedented. Aside from the throbbing wound that seemed to be spurting out the purity of his blood, he was determined to overcome the forces of United. At his current rate, not even the armies of hell itself could intervene his fortitude and determination to become victorious in this bout. The king?s gloved hands were bleached of their pallid color and had been doused in his own oozing blood as he attempted to barricade it from depletion.

Vejita?s thoughts were silenced with his reality being blurred of its potency. The only effective contemplation still resident in the chambers of his brain was this bothersome wound and he announced with the utmost potential of his lungs. ?Medics! Come!? An unconfirmed fighter swarmed into the heart of the fortress with swiftness of his commander?s demands. Time was a necessity that was valued immensely in this situation.

The medical soldier was acting proficiently and productively with bandages being fastened over the commander?s shoulder with succession. As he tried to resume his activities once again, his lips liberated a groan into the world of Dante, and his hand reflected a signal of evacuation to the non-combat soldier. King Vejita winced under the agony, but ogled once again at the changeling warrior with a bitter stare. Reijin had imposed his superior strength into their battle, and the king could only admire his initiative to demolish the cowardice fighter.

?His blood is on your hands Reijin, but make it flow well. And may your cowardice be in vain, ?Koola?.? That name was triggering a remembrance of a battle he had contributed in; more specifically against the efforts of this changeling warrior. The fighter?s expression and his identity was known as a similar warrior that had endeavored in seizing the look out from the guardian long ago. This wasn?t entirely fate?s guidance, but was also the sweet taste of justice.

Vejita I?s sluggish pace was paused and his focus once again was reformatted in place of the war. All of the callous battles was traced through the vision of the saiya-jin and one in particular was the ambush of Raikinesis soldiers unleashing a combination of elemental assaults on the intruding Dante soldiers. The commander?s brows ascended upwards with an appalling expression twisting over him as he acknowledged this as his moment.

He had been idle in his duty as commander of this army; only driven by his starvation for the flesh of his adversaries. His voice was addressed to a miniature squad of warriors with it echoing from the fortified walls of the fortress. ?Crush their skulls underneath your boots! Do not dare let them humiliate the forces of Dante!? The band of soldiers were estimated at a hundred and they scurried into an intelligent position to appropriately startle the Raikinesis fighters with domination.

With his commands being performed in an instant, he scrambled throughout the armies of United with disregard of all low-ranking officers. Particles of their flesh was trampled on with every brute thrust of his lance that he had identified previously. The swords metallic surface was blunt, but that was additional pain for all whom dared to confront the might of the saiya-jin king. Sweat drenched his brows and the parched reminder of his wounds that he had smeared on his face were cleansed completely with every flinging of the sword.

Vejita?s splendid entertainment was abruptly suspended with a particular officer being located with his creeping eyes. ?Alien! Surrender your life to the cold steel, or the name of Dante.? Gokua was unaffected by the saiya-jin?s authority, but the saiya-jin king persistently marched onwards for the General.

Gokua?s plan had failed, incapable of sufficing the ground troops? needs to slowly deplete the amount of Dante soldiers running rampage. A simple sigh expressed his feelings of the outcome. He had sent every unit he could, and all they accomplished was to be sucked into the whirlwind of fighting. ACTION Jackson, who he sent to lead the expedition, refused to honor Gokua by carrying out his wishes. Instead, he fed his own addiction of fighting.

?That bastard?? the alien muttered, turning around to see how the artillery unit kept his commands in their heads, following out his intentions. ?What a fool I am to send out some idiotic private to lead a precision-needed command.?

Shots continued to bang throughout the sky, but only from one side. Dante had ceased their projectile operations long ago, abandoning them for a more reckless tactic, which seemed to be quite successful. United Army needed to rely on their projectile unit, however; it was essential for United?s success to produce causalities, for their numbers were already less than Dante?s.

Prior plans that were chiseled in stone had been cast off for more recent tactics that proved both pointless and imprudent. Dante strived in close-quarters combat, and throughout the battle they persistently pushed forward to arrive at that situation. United, conversely, had no knowledge of fighting in the competition, thus leaving them frail to such warfare. It was evident; Dante had outplayed United, and defeat seemed to be far passed grasp, and more in containment. United?s chances of victory were slipping away, but if they could still muster up a valiant effort they could reach success.

Then, abruptly, a voice boomed, ?Alien! Surrender your life to the cold steel, or the name of Dante.? At first, the alien disregarded the words, fallaciously believing that it was a mere soldier of Dante trying to tear though his thoughts. ?Then die in all that represents Dante!? the voice bellowed, finally attracting the turquoise alien.

Quickly, he turned around, unsheathing his rapier. He was prepared to end the remarks of the mysterious individual, ridding him from the Monte Cristo, and out of Gokua?s thoughts. ?Show yourself warrior!? Gokua replied with a shout of his own. ?Such arrogant remarks shall be rewarded with a swift and painless death!?

His blood surged more ferociously than before. Adrenaline began to overwhelm his plans for the future, forcing him to only be concerned with the present. He had been starving, but previously urged himself to tolerate the hunger he had for battle. It had been a while, too long in his mind, and now he would be able to feed his craving, even if it was only at a minute amount.

The roaring warrior for Dante began to become visible as he slowly forced himself to endure the long haul up the steps that led to the highest level, and to his target, Gokua. ?Your blood shall taint my blade!?

The alien readied himself accordingly, bringing his rapier up with two firm hands around its hilt, and sliding into the typical swordsman fighting stance.

He saw his opponent near, finally reaching the top step. He seemed to be a proud warrior of Dante, and though his clothes were tarnished with the stench of blood, Gokua could tell that he was a proud Saiyan. The monkey-raced warrior hereditarily possessed the normal hair. The Saiyan was one full of honor, and the respect of war. He knew that fate had brought him to call out Gokua. Wielding a blunt sword, he held it firmly, bringing it up to label his target.

Men from United came rushing to aid their commander, but Gokua signaled them off. He wanted the fight all to himself, and no one else. The kill was what he craved, and though the man that stood before him was a Saiyan, he did not care.

They shared no grudges, and were not aware of the others? existence, but fate had brought them to the top of Monte Cristo to fight for their respectable factions. They both stood still; their breaths the only motions of their bodies. Their eyes clashed, trying to strike intimidation, but neither of them was affected by the others? troubling gaze. For that brief moment, time had been forced still.

Gokua?s eyes ceased to fight Vijita I?s, and focused more on his posture. It was evident that the warrior that stood before him had been injured prior to their encounter, but the extent of his injuries was a mystery to Gokua. All that he could do was pray for a challenge.

?We?ve dwelled long enough on this fruitless standoff and now we will embrace what has come to reality. The conclusion of this battle will, but illuminate the prospects of the victor. Let the universe tremble at our feet and let jealousy salivate from their widened mouths, commander!? His tongue settled itself at pause, but his dwindling voice out-stretched throughout the residence of the fortress with devastating affects for the troops encircling them. This skirmish withheld a symbolic description as it encompassed the potential for either factions.

Some soldiers were stripped of their breaths at the very sight of these two men exchanging bitter intimidation towards one another while others were implanted with a startling motivation that invigorated them to their bones. All of their disabilities were cast into the shadows; shunned of it?s belonging in this mental and physical warfare. The deficiency of either?s army wasn?t deliberated, but only a strategic belligerence for the opposing soldier.

Both officers had paved their passage into the rivalry with only absolute bravery and confidence that couldn?t be distinguished. Vejita was stirring with unknown emotions with his former self flooding like a tornado from his mind. A sense that voided statistics and factors as he could only witness the chiming of his delightful pleasure of war. The saiya-jin?s stance was altered in an interesting position as he flaunted his martial arts capabilities with only glee. Gokua was unimpressed and it wielded no consequence on his posture as he sustained his routine form.

The alien?s fingers were tingling alongside of his rapier as if his hand was enriched of magnetism for it?s awe-inspiring might. The hefty creature resumed his activities with the rotation of his cranium to almost deliver the impression of his contempt for this saiya-jin warrior. Their exchange of psychological battering commenced to gradually be relinquished however.

A yawn was established at the monotonous venue from King Vejita and with exhilaration his adrenaline snarled in commandment of all of his known muscles as if he were guided by it single-handedly. The saiya-jin warrior?s fingers, reserved in it?s placement in hand, spiraled forth with only attraction for the creature?s cheekbone. The velocity of the commander was miraculous with dust swarming upwards over him in a disguise of his tactics. His limb aligned itself at a flawless angle and his fist was donated with the majority of his strength.

The impressions of his bulky knuckles was endorsed with specific features and Gokua?s jaw could only proceed to muffle upon his own blood in it?s unforeseen color. The swordsman, however, was unwilling to just settle for being dismantled by this miniature being, and with all of his might submitted the saiya-jin to a pitch that ejected him into the heavens above him.

After gyrating in numerous occasions during his ejection, the saiya-jin was smothering with this indescribable rage that was spiraling his thoughts into unknown realms. His inhibitions were dwarfed and not even the existence of his soldiers were a concern to him in the plot to butcher this beastly alien. Vejita?s weight was reinstated and a scorching inferno of his own essence was shown in a cascade over him as he gashed the atmosphere with his entire self.

The commander?s objective was to project himself into the heart of this bastard with his sword?s somewhat jagged tip a reminder of his strength for Gokua. Unfortunately, Gokua?s eye flickered delightfully into a cynical wink with his rapier being unsheathed without effort at all in the awaiting of the saiya-jin. Vejita had comprehended this, even with his insufficient sight, and could only enjoy the challenge by his adversary.

A bolt of thunder was expressed during the collision of these fighters, but this wasn?t a creation of nature, but only the design of metallic steel clashing into one another as an extension of vengeance and pride. A disturbing illumination however fractured the visual of these two warriors from the soldiers views and all possibilities of celebrating the outcome was predicted falsely.

Fragments of limbs were engaged in warfare under the surveillance of the soldiers and both forms were identified entirely after mere moments by them. King Vejita was sweating profusely with doubts riddling his brain it seemed as he engaged in close-range combat with Gokua, who was outwardly reminding the saiya-jin of his superior strength with leisurely blows.

The golden light of the sun shimmered its hue over the landscape before sinking disappearing behind the stratus clouds that had been merciful enough to allow a single vision. As if finally bursting from the constraints of its ethereal prison, rain fell to the earth, washing away the crimson liquid that had been spilt across the now hardened earth. However, as old blood washed away, new blood was splashed to take its place. They fought wildly, Dante and United alike, neither willing to lose the step on which their foothold rested. A battle for a now scarred fortress, the fight for Monte Cristo had immediately become a bloodbath upon Dante?s charge.

?I am a Saiya-Jin,? Broli whispered amidst his closed eyes. ?I am Burori.? He breathed deeply, allowing his energy to filter through his body. It consumed him, the yet untapped energy that begged for him to release it. It moaned, it cried, it whispered into the very depths of his souls to be unleashed, to be freed from its containment. A sinking feeling set in the stomach of the Saiya-Jin. Had it really been that long since he had experienced the sensation of fear?

Granted, it had nothing to do with the mechanical warrior standing before him. In fact, it was the power deep inside of him, bubbling up from his feet and into his throat, attempting to reach the orifice of his mouth. Release me! It beckoned, rustling the chains wrapped tightly around it.

This unspoken power of his had screamed for release a time before at the Sativan Capital on Vegeta-Sei. At the brink of death, Broli had fallen to his knees, his body beaten and bloody. His energy waited patiently to be tapped into, as if he was a starving animal and the energy was a savory flank of meat just waiting to be feasted upon. Knowing he had no other choice, Broli let go of it all, shattering the chains on the sweltering force deep within his chest. And then, in a consuming burst of light, he consumed the militia, the guards, everything. It was later said that the golden energy could be seen from miles away, and that the image of the dome of power that devoured the Capital was forever burnt in the minds of those coincidentally witnesses to the act.

It was, in truth, the first time that Broli had ever released the power of a Super Saiya-Jin.

Now, a handful of months later, Broli stood in the same position, his opponent not guards, or trained soldiers, or a wicked Queen. Rather, it was a mechanical being that had been counting the days before he could face Burori. Sixteen?s day had finally come, and Broli found himself listening to the energy within his chest. Yet, it was different than before, different from when he became a Super Saiyan. It was deeper, stronger, and more violent than before as it shook to unravel the bonds that contained it.

No? Not yet. He knew exactly what kind of power he was capable of, and he would not risk the lives of his companions fighting tooth and nail around him. He would ignore the begging in his heart, despite its attempts to kick, scream, and shout to get its way. Not yet.

?Rocket Punch!? Sixteen roared, aiming his left hand towards the Commander. Broli found himself staring at the sky as the bulky hand rammed into his chin, throwing his head back with the crack of a whip. He closed his eyes as he fell to the ground, the earth wrapping its thick mud around him like a warm blanket.

Sixteen launched himself at the fallen opponent, Burori rolling to one side as the heavy boot crushed through the outer layer of the earth. Broli lifted his own leg, thrusting it into the knee of the android. With a crack, Sixteen stumbled backwards in pain. The Saiyan seized the opportunity to strike, jumping to his feet and lashing his wrists. A series of energy orbs whizzed through the air, exploding into the body of the android. A choking cloud of smoke consumed his body, Broli throwing himself forward.

He was caught in mid-air by the swift hand of the android, the creature?s thick fingers wrapping around the throat of the Saiyan. Eyes wide with rage, Sixteen held one hand behind his back, opening its palm and allowing the creation of a fiery globe of ki. Barring his teeth, he pushed his arm forward into the face of the Saiya-Jin, the energy attack exploding into the face of the warrior. As the smoke cleared, Broli remained in the firm grip of the android, his head lolling to the side. With a grunt, Sixteen tossed him to the side, Broli sliding across the dusty flesh of the earth.

?Get up,? Sixteen spat, folding his arms. ?Don?t belittle me with this pathetic attempt to fight. I know you?re holding back.?

The Saiyan lifted himself to all fours, holding a hand before his eyes. Blood dripped from his face onto the hand, dribbling down his fingertips and onto the grassy floor. ?I said get up!? Sixteen roared, rushing forward and throwing the toes of his foot into the gut of the Saiyan. Broli yelled in agonizing pain as the android?s foot seemed to push right into his kidneys. Sixteen waited a moment before he repeated his command for the warrior to stand, and with all anger brewing in his body, he released another kick.

?Is this the might of Dante? Stand!? Sixteen threw forth his foot again. However, this time Broli caught it by the ankle with both hands, his teeth gnashing together as he pushed against the foot with all his strength. Casting off the android, Broli threw forth a blast of energy from his palms, sending his opponent sprawling back.

The energy dissipated, the Saiyan climbing to his feet. As Sixteen wiped a stream of blood trickling down his cheek from his forehead, a smile formed on his face. ?That?s more like it.?

Another enemy fell before the saiyan, a victim to his rifle. He quickly reloaded and aimed again. Picked off another one. His army was fighting with intensity and pride. If they fell they would at least take one of the enemy down with them. Para took a punch to the abdominal region by a Dante soldier. He quickly shook it off and returned it with a stronger punch to the face knocking the man down to the ground.

?We are doing fine men. Hold them. Don?t give up, stay tough? Para yelled to his remaining soldiers. They were fighting so hard, he needed to keep it that way. Even though he too was completely drained of all energy. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and bent over.

Para came back up from huddled postion and placed his hands on his head. He stood gasping for air, he was worn out. It was constant movement in the massive crowd of troops, no one had time to take a breather. It was kill or be killed. The saiyan warrior turned and delivered a left hook to an approaching Dante cadet and left him in an unconscious state. He shook out the sting of his fist and turned around to fight some more. He dropped down in his saiyan fighting stance and awaited all challenges.

A man charged the saiyan blindly and took and hard knee to the rib cage. Another tried to shoot the saiyan but he quickly grabbed the body of the man he just kicked and used him as a shield. The soldier squealed in pain when the bullet made contact his spine. Para tossed him into the mud and charged the other man. The warrior delivered a barrage of punches and kicks to his opponent dropping him face fist into the soil.

Quickly he spun around and delivered a crescent kick to another assailant. As that man fell to the ground a battle came into view. Para squinted his good eye for a better view and leaned forward. It was commander Gokua fighting off against an unknown warrior. They were both giving there all and the battle was close. The saiyan focused his attention more on the unknown one then his commander. His technique was quite good and was giving Gokua a run for his money.

He was in awe of their battle skills, they possessed superb fighting qualities. The sound of footsteps caused the saiyan?s attention to divert back to his problems. He turned to find that a row of four enemy soldiers were lined up perfect with their guns aimed right at him.

?Shit?

Para quickly brought his hands to his eyes and used his energy to create a blinding white flash. Guns shots fired as the saiyan jumped down into push up position. The blinded soldiers just missed their target and shot random troops across from them, some being there own comrades. Para pushed off the ground and spun himself around into a position facing the vision impaired enemies.

Four quick blasts and four dead Dante soldiers. He nipped himself up from the ground and shifted his eye back onto the battle Gokua was having. The whites of the dark haired opponent?s eyes came into view. His eyes were filled with intensity, anger, and revenge. The saiyan General lifted his gun and aimed the cross hairs on the head of the unknown combatant. He was moving quick so he had to quickly refocus. He took a brief pause to take a breath, that was Para?s chance. He aimed and quickly pulled the trigger.

Paragus is successfully leading the defense of United on the front lines. Still a lot of soldiers getting by but his unit is, for the most, winning.

16 and Broli are dueling.

Gokua and Vejita are dueling.

Reijin is atop the sniper walls

Slowly, the commander of Dante rose to his feet. Sixteen could see the blood dripping from his mouth, and the river flowing from his eyes. Broli was injured, that much was fact. As he looked on at his opponent, he pondered about just how much pain one could feel. He?d never felt pain before, and would never be able to fully understand what it felt like to bleed or bruise.

As the two stood once more, the mechanical warrior honed his body with all of his inner systems. With every second he stood idle, Sixteen felt the energy of the planet crying out for help. The surge came up through his legs, calling out for him to end all the pain and suffering it had endured. It wasn?t just the soldiers and civilians of the many armies, but the planet itself was sacrificing it self for this tournument.

He knew what burden he carried, and that burden was passed down to him from his most trusted companion. Sixteen would not buckle under the weight of his promise, and it was Broli who would life all the pain from his shoulders. The saiya-jin warrior was the sole reason for this battle, and was the main objective. His mind could not focus on the mass amounts of soldiers fighting each one another, because it was out of his hands now. Every single one of his troops knew that they had to win their individual battles in order to win a war, and this was just another battle.

?Your reign will end here today saiya-jin,? roared the mighty United commander, lowering himself into his favorite attack stance.

Broli gave no reply, but instead continued to let the blood trickle down his face. Each drop landing in a now small puddle of red and muddy liquid. The ripples flowed smoothly as each shiny orb of blood rained down from his face. Just as another drop feel, the heavens seemed to open up, and with it came god?s fury.

Rain began to flow down from the skies, plastering the many men with moisture. Puddles of mud where the hundreds of boots frequently passed sprang up instantly, but still the two mighty warriors stood idle. The pool of blood sitting below the saiya-jin was now just a mere puddle, a puddle that was disrupted by mass amounts of rain.

?Will you continue this battle or will you just stand there like a statue for eternity?? question the apparatus, slamming his massive boot into the puddle just in front of him. Specs of mud and water sprayed his body, wiping the once dried blood from his face and body from him.

It had seemed that his last question had penetrated the thick skull of the opposition?s commander. Finally the saiya-jin lifted his head up, and stood proud as he once did. Finally the two warriors looked into one another?s eye?s, only to see the determination to win this battle for their respective armies.

Machine versus Man. It was the colossal battle of two armies, two giants, two leaders, and two men.

Their skirmish continued.

Both Saiyan and Pathosian were determined; determined to win and not only for themselves, but for their respectable factions. Their determination is what kept them composed, and compelled?to be the victor. Gokua?s intentions for the proud Saiyan were ill, and he felt no compassion for the man, not even to the slightest degree. They both knew that the path of this fight had two directions; one direction was eerie, and appeared to have no prosperous end, while the other shimmered with the calls of victory, and medals or valor and integrity. Hell, there was no truth at the end of either path. The only honesty that remained was the honest within; words that drove them to continue fighting, the words: I will live.

Gokua received a jaw-rattling blow, nudging his seemingly unmovable feet backwards. Blood spewed from his mouth, and assimilated into the charred, tainted air. Then finally, the two allowed a pause to exist. Blood filled the alien?s mouth, forcing him to spit onto the cold rock floor. A tooth was washed out with his hawking, leaving his mouth one less molar. King Vejita had jolted his tooth loose with that crafty, yet mighty fist.

?Impressive,? Gokua muttered, allowing his fingers to relax from the firm grip he placed upon his rapier. ?I guess I am a tad rusty.? The Saiyan had no words to speak; fight was still very much alive within him, and he was eager to resume sharing blows. ?Fine, allow me to slip back into the fighting mood.?

King Vejita did not permit Gokua?s return to the bout?easily. He forced another one of his brawny fists forward to greet the alien?s face.

His future looked dim as his eyes slowly closed, and the sight of Vejita leaving.

A moment passed, and nothing occurred. This sudden pause was welcomed by the Saiyan. Relieving his body, he took large intakes of air with deep and long breaths. The alien?s eyes finally opened, only to see a blurred figure before him, above him. Then, his vision focused in, allowing him to regain full sight. The punch had struck him with incredible force, knocking him into a state of unconsciousness. He was seemingly alright now, however, and returned to his feet.

Blood trickled from his frowned mouth and down his chin before departing his rough face. He wiped the small line of blood, looking at his foe with more anger than before. Adrenaline only lasted so long, and his finally died down. Instincts faded a tad, to allow sheer intelligence to intervene. To go fist-to-fist with a Saiyan was equivalent to committing suicide, and his decision to recklessly engage with the warrior was a foolhardy action. To fight bronze, brains had to be applied. And to defeat brains, one had to batter another person?s head in. Gokua had no intentions on allowing Vejita to destroy his cranium.

His eyes kept locked onto Vejita, reassuring himself that the Saiyan made no sudden movements. Then, gradually, he placed his rapier back into its sheath. ?Another time maybe, Dictator,? he muttered to his sword.

He slid into the appropriate fight stance; right foot forward, applying all bodyweight on the left foot. It was the prestigious South Pawl stance, which Gokua had become quite fond with over the years. Slowly, he brought his fists up to guard his face, but did a small hand gesture before doing so. He insisted that King Vejita came to fight him.

The king charged forward, rearing a fist back, preparing to land yet another heavy blow upon the Pathosian. Gokua had foreign intentions, however; he had gotten Vejita to bite onto his lure, and now it was the time to reel him in. His feet drew further apart, and they both dug into the ground, realigning his balance. His hands grew heavy, but he kept them close to his face. Cautious not to reveal his next procedure, he slid his left foot, but only a fraction of an inch. Vejita pushed onward, his fist growing stronger as he flexed his biceps and triceps, wanting to end the battle in one decisive punch. Gokua had prepared accordingly, and was ready. The Saiyan drew closer, with no signs of any hesitation in his intended actions. The alien was ready.

Quickly leaping into the air, he twirled his body around with all of his might, pulling his foot into the air, and outstretching the leg. The Saiyan cared not; his fist was mightier than any attack the United commander could muster. The alien?s body twisted violently through the air, pulling his foot towards Vejita. With a thumping sound, the Saiyan was forced backwards, off of his feet; the roundhouse kicked had been executed to perfection. Gokua landed, gasping for air.

Dante has stormed the defense of United as is now flooding into the Fortress.

For all purposes, here is a ROUGH count of combat troops left:

Dante - 2150
United - 1450

United guards/civilians in the Fortress are defending the inner sactums of the Fortress. Dante has moved forward towards, and inside, the actually building but still must defeat more layers of defense.

Vejita and Gokua are still dueling, as are 16 and Broli. I'll update tommorrow. Don't worry if you haven't got a ton of rps up against your oppenent, I'm going by overall performance.

Reijin is still on the walls finishing off Koola. Paragus is on the move elsewhere

The implementation of Gokua?s attack ferociously progressed its distress through the saiya-jin as an infection with disillusionment coursing over him. King Vejita?s sight was converted into a vivid spectacle with a range of shades of stamped their unenthusiastic attitude into the commander of Dante. His muscles had momentarily been hindered while the authenticity of the blow divulged in his mind. The clatter of the pathosian?s foot further chimed in the depth of his active ear with his cranium metaphorically shattering under the vigorous kick.

Vejita?s customary commentary was superseded with the significance of resuming this battle weighing upon his pride. To allow this monstrous creature of overtaking his metaphoric throne as the most dominating commander of this competition was outrageous to him. In fact, it could only be depicted as a squandering suicide to embrace the defeat by this over-powering creature.

His thoughts protruded from his bewilderment and once again focused on his typical method of victory: mental domination.?This world holds no value for you and your ?heros?. We?ve slain your brothers, the changelings, and the plot thickens with justice being claimed by my destruction. Righteousness will not be claimed here today, commander.? The king?s voice was particularly enriched of a lack of passion, almost as if his soul had been abolished at the very day his own son was tormented by the smoldering flames of his own sins or so he perceived.

Unfortunately, the attempt at infiltrating the brain of this creature was unsuccessful, and Gokua?s voice rumbled into the arctic temperature with a growl that was accompanied with the warmth of his breath being viewed as a cloud in the atmosphere. The commanders once again engaged themselves in combat which seemed to be simultaneous.

Emotions, pride, confidence, loyalty, and every other aspect of motivation that could be summoned from their interior was contributing to their struggles. Their limbs were flung into one another at a rhythmic pace and in some insight they were synchronized. The swordsman however was operating every course that shifted in this battle and this was judgment foreseen even through the observations of Vejita. Both fighters were discharging a putrid combination of sweat, blood, and tears as they were compelled with the belief that this battle would title the other as the greater of the two captains of their squad.

In an unpredicted incident, Gokua was shown with a leverage of determination while he snatched the miniature saiya-jin with veins exposing themselves in a ripple throughout his body. The pathosian squealed in demand of further power and his muscles could only obey with his opposition being hurled above his shoulder. With a vibration of his limbs, the saiya-jin king was wrenched in a violent manner with his cranium jerking only through guidance of Gokua?s impressive strength.

?I?ve...given....my soul...? His tongue was somehow capable of sustaining motion, and proceeded onwards as his muscles attempted to replica that strength. King Vejita?s elbow was appropriately aimed for the brute?s vision, and it collided with only a shred of accuracy. ?...To win these battles....I cannot....afford....to...? The commander?s elbow struck further as if fate was directing the injured fighter, and within moments his liberation was rejoiced with the wondrous contemplations of victory once again flooding into his mind-set.

Though the rain fell in unrelenting torrents, the cool liquid could do nothing more than cleanse the blood from his skin. In terms of lifting the pain that surged through his body, the rain was helpless. Broli attempted to stand tall, to not buckle at the bidding of his agonizing hurt. However, it was futile, the Saiyan warrior knowing full and well that Sixteen was as aware as he was. He was injured. There was no denying that. As the pain in his sides thickened, and as the blood continued to flow from the corners of his lips, Broli could feel his energy dissipating through the crevices of his wounds.

Around the two warriors, the men of Dante hurried past. Their objective was the inner sanctum of Monte Cristo where the United forces had been pushed back, leaving Broli and Sixteen to continue their duel near the broken wall.

Lightning sporadically soared in the sky above, illuminating the chaotic earth below. Broli found himself observing the now tattered architecture of Monte Cristo, scanning the scars that would forever be permanently etched into the face of the fortress. ?It must have been beautiful,? he whispered.

Sixteen nodded, keeping his eyes locked on the Saiya-Jin Commander. ?It was.?

The Saiya-Jin wiped the crimson blood from his cheek, wincing in anguish as he lifted his arm. The sounds of battle were a mere echo in Burori?s ears, the Dante soldiers having reached the Inner Sanctum and having begun a ferocious battle for total victory. For the most part, the two were alone, having only each other?s company. ?Sounds like they need you,? the android mocked.

Broli tightened his fists, as if testing the strength that remained. ?They?ll be alright.? Another jolt of lightning ripped through the air, desiring no permission to rule the skies.

?Maybe,? the Android glanced to the hallways leading to the Inner Sanctum. As his pupils transferred back over the Saiya-Jin, the tension grew. ?But you won?t be.?

With these words escaping the lips of the United Commander, Broli reveled in the truth that arose in his mind. Sixteen really wasn?t going to give up without a fight. Even more so obvious was the fact that the android was not willing to simply accept defeat by means of being inferior. He intended to fight until he was dead, or, as he hoped, until Burori was dead.

The Saiya-Jin looked over the android, taking note of the contours of his body as well as his evident posture. He?s not even phased! Broli grunted, pressing the palm of his hand against his side as if to soothe the tenderness. How can I beat someone who doesn?t experience pain? What power can match up to him? The Saiya-Jin stared in disbelief, his mind searching for a possible solution to the predicament that involved his possible death. If he could not rise to the ability of his opponent, then he would die, and United would be one step closer to victory.

Release me! Release me and I?ll destroy him! The voice came again, rustling the shackles within Burori?s soul. It urged him irritably, like rubbing his hand against sand paper until it was raw.

Not yet. I can do this! Broli nodded to himself confidently, sliding one foot back as he placed himself in his battle stance. He held up a single hand, first using it to wipe away the wetness of his forehead caused by his thick, water-soaked hair. Then, with the curl of his fingertips, he motioned for Sixteen to make the first move.

Above them both, Fate pulled the strings of destiny, orchestrating action after action. Though Sixteen and Broli remained unaware of who would survive that day, Fate knew it all the same. Ultimately, it would be Fate?s desire as to whether Broli lived or died. If it was to be the Saiya-Jin, Fate knew already that Broli would only go down in one way ? battling with everything in him.

A perfectly good shot wasted. It was far too crowded in the epicenter of the breach and the General?s aim was thrown off. He snickered and lifted his gun to try again, but then paused. He slowly put his gun down and realized Gokua could handle himself, he was Commander anyways. He had a new idea for his troops.

There was no clear path, so he had to make one. He lifted his gun again and readied himself for battle. He steadied his aim and shot down an enemy that had taken a moment to stare at the sky. There was no time to stop and Para felt bad that he had to die, but he should have been on his toes. Quickly he diverted his attention to a soldier who was slowly creeping up behind one of his own. Para placed his eye in line with his target and put two bullets in his back. The cadet turned around to find that he had been saved by his saiyan general.

?Im sorry General? He yelled, sorry that he had made such a rookie mistake

?Its alright. Don?t give them a chance fight?

The saiyan turned around and tried to push his way through the mob of soldiers. Randomly Dante soldiers would pop out but Para was quick on his feet and always prepared for an attack. A Dante soldier screamed as he launch himself at Para wielding a Bowie knife. He took a swift cut at his throat but Para narrowly dodged it. He countered with a quick jab to the face sending the man to his knees.

?Inside. Fall back inside. Go to the inner sanctum of the Fortress repel the attack from there?

Para led his men through the crowd and dismantled all enemies in his path. The were united as one all over again. They were a human demolition squad as they tore through the crowd taking down all that opposed them. They weren?t going to be denied access to the inside, not a chance. The hole in the wall was in clear sight now and they were ready to travel to the other side.

?Stay on your toes men?

Para tried to guide them the best he could along the way. He barked out direction after direction hoping his men could keep up. They had reached the massive opening in the once beautiful walls of Monte Cristo. The action was as fierce inside then it was on the outside. They continued from exactly where they had left off. The destruction of Dante.

?Fight. We have arrived Fight?

The saiyan sharp shooter pulled out his rifle and shot down to more rebels. He yelled words to boost the morale of his army as he reloaded his gun again. He was proud of what they had done so far, they proved well trained in the fight to defend the breach. All that waiting in the trenches paid off, all their hard work to build the fortress up to code paid off, and all their intense training paid off. Para finished reloading and aimed again.

A charged into the crowd of the enemy with the United battle cry bellowing from his vocal chords. He delivered a jab to one soldier with his rifle and then a shot to the face with the other side. He twirled around and shot down another. Para wasn?t able to fight off all of them, but he wasn?t alone. The battle cry of United was heard once more when the rest of his loyal regiment charged the enemy pack to aid their comrades. General Paragus? had arrived and the inner confines of the fortress just got a whole lot safer.

"It would seem you missed, Koola," Reijin taunted the changeling from behind.

The cold blood's blood ran even colder as he stopped in his movements, not daring to twitch a muscle. "My men will finish the two of you off," he threatened. "I have a sniper on the wall right now with full intentions of taking the both of you out."

"Shut up and die," the saiyan chided, pulling the trigger.

Moments later, Vejita had left the area to take out another of the higher level combatants, and Reijin was standing over Koola's corpse. "Akane... I am sorry I failed you. Videl, it would seem that I'm not doing so hot in this protector business, am I?" he questioned to himself. Taking a slow and deep breath, his eyes grew hard as he looked back to the fortress. "Then I shall let their blood rain down from the walls of their fortress. Our men will thrive upon it." His boots left a cloud of dust in the air as he burst into action, striding as quickly as he could towards the action while avoiding the primary combatants. The soldiers on the ground were simply a stall. What he was after was the true leader, hoping to end this war as quickly as possible.

He ran towards a hole in the wall, but instead of going through it, he dissappeared, reappearing on the top of the wall itself. A sniper was nearby, completely not noticing the saiyan. He had pulled the trigger at the moment that Reijin had looked up, winking at him before dissappearing. "God dammit!" he cursed. "Where the hell did that bastard g-"

He never finished, as Reijin snapped his neck quickly from behind and threw his body over the side. Reijin heard a sound from beside him of alarm and he spun around, kicking a gun from another sniper's hands. Giving the man no time to react, his palm struck him in the throat to silence any alarm before he released an energy shot to destroy the remains of his neck. Drawing back his blood soaked hand, Reijin snapped it quickly to shake some of the blood from it. In the distance, he saw the man known as the sniper that had fired at them. He chuckled slightly as the man was now sniping random people in the crowd while searching for the perfect victim.

Drawing back his fist, Reijin gathered energy around it before releasing it to fire into the man's direction. Somehow, the high ranked soldier happened to turn, seeing the energy shot and threw himself to the side to dodge the blast. "Shit, I must be getting rusty," Reijin laughed a moment. He phased quickly, appearing directly next to the man before throwing a punch. The man sidestepped the punch, drawing a knife quickly. The knife found nothing more than hard saiyan armor to slash across, and Reijin gave him a look of defiance. "Are you kidding me?"

"Piss off," the man snapped, turning around and swan diving over the side of the wall. Shocked, Reijin ran to the side of the wall to find noone below it. He stared silently for a moment before cursing again and turning around, looking at the others on the wall.

"To leap to your doom as he did, or to face me? That's the choice you are given." Finalizing upon his words with a large energy wave along the top of the sniper wall, a few of them did indeed jump to the ground below only to break their necks. The others found themselves enveloped in the cascading torrent of energy, to have their flesh ripped away.

Looking over the side once more, the raven haired man saw that a darker skinned saiyan with a scar over one eye was encouraging the United soldiers into a frenzy, inciting them to fight back as hard as they could. Reijin would not allow such a thing to occur. Grabbing the nearest sniper rifle, the saiyan quickly put his back to a wall to avoid an attack and took careful aim, making sure to keep his timing until he had a clear shot. "...game over"

He pulled the trigger.

(OOC: Attempting to snipe Paragus. If it fails, I'll deal with that.)

The desperation-driven elbows forced Gokua to loosen his firm grip on the Saiyan, and Vejita took the slim opportunity to escape the alien?s grasp. The Dante commander pulled away, and landed a few feet away from the turquoise warrior.

Gokua?s irritably rubbed his eyes to convalesce from the properly positioned elbows. His vision began to return, but was still left hindered; he saw in shades of white and black, incapable of seeing anything in a saturated form.

The proud, stern Saiyan was a resilient warrior, and demanded nothing less than victory from his battered body. Vejita sustained multiple injuries throughout the duration of the competition, but that damn Saiyan blood kept him reluctant to greet death. That blood, it was something that Gokua would never be capable of feeling. It was a natural occurrence to see a Saiyan stay compelled and determined while fighting, regardless of the unfathomable odds presented before them. Gokua would never feel that.

?Saiyan warrior,? the alien muttered as he finally ceased to rub his eyes. ?I am not brother of the Changeling race. No, those fucking tyrannous beings share nothing in common with Pathosians.?

?I am not in the mood for a lesson in your race,? Vejita interrupted. ?We are standing before each other to duel until one of us forfeits or lie dead on the cold unforgiving ground!?

?Well that?s too bad!? Gokua exclaimed with anger. ?You spatter ignorant comments regarding my race, yet do not want to be cured of it? Such are the ways of your race. Well, you shall hear my comments.? Then the alien paused, and looked at his artillery unit desperately shuffle around to continue to honor Gokua?s commands. ?Never mind, you are not worth the time, nor air.?

?Shall we continue this fight then?? Vejita asked, cracking his neck.

?Sure.?

The pompous Saiyan charged forward with the tenacity of a wild tiger. Gokua stood prepared, and dropped his hips, enabling him to fall into another stance. Vejita cared not, and continued to recklessly rush forward. The alien was ready, and slowly brought his hand to rest on the hilt of his blade, set to unsheathe his precious Dictator in an instant. Vejita neared with awesome speed, as if his injuries had no embedment on his fighting. Sweat drenched the alien?s prized purple headband, and began to seep down to his brows. His concentrated stayed on the charging Saiyan, however; and he made sure that not a fragment of a moment passed that he could not keep Vejita in his sight.

Abruptly, he took his hand off of the hilt of his rapier and grasped the hilt, unsheathing the blade. Still, the Saiyan neared without shedding a fraction of tenacity. Gokua swiped his blade upward, on a foutry-five degree angle, to punish the warrior?s actions. Vejita I?s eyes were keen, and his reflexes outstanding under pressure. Quickly, he took a small step, purposely falling forward. He skidded against the ash-tainted ground, but more importantly, he successfully evaded a seemingly inescapable slash from Gokua?s rapier.

The alien allowed a slight chuckle to slip passed his serious persona. ?Nice evasion there, Saiyan,? he remarked, readjusting his grip on his sword. ?But now you?re in a worse position!?

He took his Dictator and plunged it downward towards Vejita?s head. The Saiyan?s strategy to avoid one fatal attack had entrapped him into the trajectory of another, and the most recent attack would be much more precise than the inattentive slash before it. He had to muster up a concise plan to escape the ostensibly inescapable. And though thought processing was not the forte of the monkey-raced men as a whole, the king was different; he was the greatest warrior among the Saiyans, and if any ape was capable of evading such an attack it would be his excellence.

He formulated a way to evade the latest slash, but would have to implement it immediately. Not a moment too soon, he tumbled over. The tip of Gokua?s Dictator smashed into the ground, lodging it in the rocked fortress. The alien pulled on his sword, but was unable to extricate his sword. He abandoned it. Vejita slowly retuned to his feet, and was prepared to continue his delayed offensive.

Monstrous cracks of the divine whip brought down the massive jolts of thunder. Rain was pummeling the grounds of Monte Cristo, which now resembled a small creek in many places. What was left of the fortress?s beauty, was washed away like a leaf floating endlessly down a river.

Sixteen continued to watch his opponent wipe away his pain like everything else was cleansed. There stood Broli the saiya-jin, clouded by pain and suffering, tending to his cuts and wounds. It was then, when the machine commander knew his advantage.

?I am a machine, and I am one who will never see the face of exhaustion.? Muttered the commander, keeping his voice low enough for his opponent not to hear.

As he placed his gaze once more, on the saiya-jin only a few yards before him, he noticed a much different look upon him. Broli seemed to have fought through the pain of his injuries, and finally was able to lower himself into a most defensive fighting stance. He was ready to continue, ?Why does one who feels pain, seek it out?? questioned his inner systems, knowing that he would not find the answer.

Foolishly wiping the blood from his face, he fingered to the United warrior into his battle. Sixteen watched for a moment, as the river of blood returned from his left eye, then slowly bent down into his own stance. The instant his knee hit the right angle, the android pushed off of his left foot, surging forwards.

Knowing he hadn?t touched the tip of his opposition?s power, Sixteen continued his fight. Thrusting his right arm forwards, Broli quickly flung his head to the left, dodging the metallic wave of force. Not wasting a second, the saiya-jin commander countered with another uppercut to the midsection of the mighty machine.

The force of the blow stopped him in his track, enabling him for a second, then a quick third that lifted him a few inches from the ground. Broli?s energy spiked quickly, as he whirled around, hurling a sloppy spin kick the androids abdomen. Sixteen burst backwards, skidding through the many small rivers of muddy waters.

His bulky arms felt for a place to grip for some time, before he was able to thrust himself upwards, and back to his feet. Returning to his fighting position, he was ready to duel once more. Underestimating a saiya-jin warrior would cause this battle to be over instantly, he knew he had to keep focused.

If all things failed, he had his defensive to offensive maneuver that was still in its early stages. Sixteen would use it if it came to that, but only as a last resort. As the rain-washed the canvas of the final battle, Broli charged his opponent.

Intensity was all Para could say about his troops. They all had it and they were all showing it off to the enemy. They were fighting like they was no tomorrow. For some of them there wouldn?t be. They didn?t care though, they still fought as if they were gods, like they couldn?t be hurt. Just like Para wanted them to fight. The inner sanctum was erupting with soldiers and it showed no signs of ever letting up.

Para rallied his troops into a fierce defensive strike, he wouldn?t let there intensity die down. Him and his troops were like a human wall not allowing anyone to get into the inner sanctum of the fortress. They waved their guns proudly, silencing all who opposed them. They were winning. Para glanced over his shoulder and punched out an approaching rebel. The ground was littered with the dead bodies of all the men that were battling for what they thought was right.

The General hurdled over a carcass and delivered a beautifully placed kicked to the jaw of sniper trying to kill one of his men. The sniper wasn?t done yet, he tried to shoot the scarred saiyan from his back. Para was quicker and put a bullet in his chest causing him to drop the sniper rifle. He was another addition to the massive death toll this war had produced.

His arm ached with pain because of the constant lifting and steading of his rifle. The saiyan?s trigger finger was getting quite a workout. He wasn?t happy about that, but what else was he to do. It was getting a little brighter outside. The saiyan could feel the air getting warmer, it felt good. A soldier?s chest exploded with blood in front of him and yelled in pain. This was no time to reminisce about the weather.

Para waved his fist in the air and yelled to his troops. ?We have them where we want them. Hold them. You guys are doing great? Para barked loudly trying to keep the morale of his troops at his highest.

?Sir, yes sir? They yelled back in unison to the delight of their general.

Para walked into the crowd and stepped carefully over another corpse. This time the body fought back. A Dante soldier playing possum grabbed the saiyan general?s leg and dragged him to the ground. He was unarmed so he rapidly punched the scarred warrior in the leg repeatedly. His leg was going numb so he used his other leg to kick the camouflaged soldier in the face. They both stood face to face, but Para?s leg felt weak so he dropped to one knee.

At that very moment, as soon as the General?s knee made contact with the cold mud of Cristo, the soldier was sniped down. Para didn?t comprehend what had happened and looked up to the sky. An unknown sniper stood atop the still standing walls of Cristo. His faced filled with anger, upset that he missed his shot.

The saiyan stood tall and waved in front of the assailant. ?Don?t shoot at me from up there like a coward? Para?s anger rose. ? Come down here and fight me. Fight me? He was yelling now. He couldn?t control his pride. He didn?t care if this man was a million times stronger then him he would fight him and give it everything he had.

The saiyan General dropped his rifle and waved the mysterious figure to come down and fight him. A smirk appeared over Para?s face, it had been a long time since he had a good fight and he felt like he was on the verge of ending that streak.

OOC: Reijin come on down.
