Why we are doing this.

Just posting this in case people have some questions as to why we are doing this 'reboot' of sorts with Chubbs.

I know, as far as stats go, why we're resetting. Is there a reason why we're resetting to customs? I heard it was to ensure that Chubbs continued on >_>

I thought it had to do with history. People not taking over canon characters and stuff. That's why I switched.

The reason we are brining in the customs is two fold; one is that the Chubbs continuity is completely messed up because characters leave and then someone comes in and replaces them and it fucks up all relationships with that character. Imagine Raditsu left and some newb joined up as him, suddenly the leader of RB doesn't remember anyone and he doesn't have a relationship with 18. It's to stop that. Secondly, there are so many characters in DB and we find that people would like to create their own character as opposed to being restricted to a pre-made character.

As far as I know:

- Stat gap was large. Even if the beginning ki was bumped up, as it had been in the past, it would only be a temporary solution - the gap would reemerge. The new system, as I understand it, has attempted to address this issue, and done away with the 'Det = more TP' problem. From now on, the rewards that you get will depend on your input, rather than a weekly number.

- Character histories were becoming a problem, as emblemized with the whole "Vegeta amnesia" thingie. That's a major example, but the whole thing with different people taking up characters that have "History" was becoming a problem. There've been like a bajillion Yamus or Nappas or some crap. With customs, this is alleviated.

I forget the other reasons, but I think those were the major ones.

It's not that the stat gap was large, but rather the effort needed to close the gap was incredible large and wouldn't change because the TP was static that you got from just being not MIA. Sure there were quests and saga's, but the amount you'd have to do just to catch up with some of the higher ups would make you go half insane.

No, and the reason I lost Future Trunks and became Reijin was storyline related. Because Dracula Man and Nappa have totally contributed on the level Reijin and Burter Jr have? Besides the main reason Future Trunks and Chibi Trunks fused was to put a stop to the bitching about not letting people like Bio Broli and Future Gohan join. So it's not exactly fair to make him take a random character to satisfy our needs.

Not that it matters, on the both and only times we've allowed Customer Characters it's only been done after heavy debate between staff and required a large amount of roleplaying for us to consider it.

The addition of customs has nothing to do with Burter Jr and Reijin, they are merely aberrations of the Chubbs universe.

The main reason for customs being introduced was to resolve the issue of continuity in the Chubbs universe, as well as to try and stop idiot members from switching characters every two weeks because they can't run said character like they want to.
