Okay, I like to rant about 'Chubbs going soft' and everything, but this time I need to get real, with no jokes. You all get your chance to get cheap shots in one us staff members, and how we're lazy, or we're unfair, or we're bias, or something else completely irrelevant. And I'll agree with you on a lot of points: we're not angels up here.
But here's where you all think wrong. Somewhere along the timeline, Chubbsians began to believe that they had some rights that they got when they joined. The right to critisize staff members over and over again. The right to be an asshole as long as it's within the rules.
And that's where the problems lies. You don't have those rights. Chubbs is not a democracy. We give rules and you follow them and get back in line.
Now no, this does NOT mean you should sit there and never ask questions or give criticism. But here's what you do: Ask your question. Get an answer. That's it. End of story. You shouldn't argue for the answer you want because it's not coming. This is how it works here, so stop wasting our time
We reserve the right to do anything. If you decide to disrespect us, face the consequences. We don't get paid to do this. If you don't like we run this stuff, you can leave. But as long as you are here, under your own free will, you're agreeing to listen to what you say and let that be the end.
For the last year I've changed my attitude. I've dummed down my sarcasm and agreed to let members walk all over me, all the while keeping a fake smile on my face. But we're done. I no longer think it's the staff that has been giving the wrong attitude, but the members.
It's starting to become more like work and less like a fun hobby when we have to deal with people who take our attitudes for granted.
We like doing this work for you. Honestly, we do. Please cooperate with us and we can all continue to enjoy it.

These are even rules on the main page, which have sat there for years, beyond 90% of your join dates:
Quote:*Final Rule: The administration owns you. This means that what they say, goes. There is a reason behind their actions, normally. We will not abuse this power, but we will use it from time to time.
As said before, we expect to be questioned. It's a natural response. But constantly arguing, bitching, nagging, and generally trying to cut us off at the knees is actually counterproductive to what staff is trying to achieve. Instead of trying to put our energy into the site, we defend ourselves with a stick. We attempt to do things that are best for the whole, not individuals who have tunnel vision and only see what they have to lose.
The insulting and the attempted undermining has got to stop. Treat us how you would like to be treated. Dancing just inside the lines isn't going to fly anymore.

Yea. We really don't mind being questioned, like Bar said. We just want to avoid the bickering that follows if people don't like our answer.

Do we have to treat the staff any different than we would our hometown mates? I mean, we all fight, argue, drink and have a great time afterwards, but sometimes the staff on a site will (pardon the expression) get uppety if someone speaks to them in a familiar way without honoraries or the like. How good are you guys with that?
Do you prefer formalities between staff and members, or are we all just cool to be us and all? If we have a lick of angst with you, can we argue with you like we would our mates, or we gotta just mumble our apologies and get lost?

Nah. We're all cool and sociable. Feel free to treat us like anyone else when dealing with the normal discussions. I would hate it if someone looks at me like some kind of president instead of just a friend who staffs on an RPG
It's when we're doing official stuff, like updates or answering an RPG question, you need to remember we're doing things for free, here.

Well, no, THAT'S not allowed. If you've got a problem, we'll settle it and that's it. Don't drive on the topic.
"Hey, Burter, how's it goin loser?" - Allowed
"I know you said three times before it wasn't okay, but I want to do this and here's why" - Not Allowed

what about the like, tell me if it'd be accepted and so:
"I seriously don't think that made any sense how you licked that frog then told me not to. I have every right to get high as you!"
or
"That was a dumb move. Why'd you go and do that?"
or
"I've gotten better responses from a drunken monkey!" ?

I just want to apologize if I in anyway disrespected you or any other staff member here on Chubbs. I can't remember if I ever did or not so I figured it wouldn't hurt to apologize.

Staff do their job's, and they get swamped over with what their doing. And then you gotta throw on top of that all the shit that can hapen in life.
I can't even remember the last time I even mentioned, in jest or not, about Staff being lazy. I'll joke with one or two of ya about getting something done, but never would I deem you lot lazy. I've seen the shit you guy's can pump out, the whole Ship thing for example, that was sweet.
Staff, if anything, have my utmost respect for putting up with bullshit from member's, my self included, and if anything, I wish the lot of them the greatest of lives, and hell.. If I get the money, I'm visiting each of them, and getting each of them as drunk as possible as a thanks for the time I've been on here, and for the fun they've made it in just being around to help.

<.< I don't like doing this, so this will be the only time I'll ever criticize you.
The biggest problem any staff can have is that they can be assholes. For example, sometimes a staff member says "No, you faggot" where a simple "No" would have sufficed. Calling someone an insulting name doesn't exactly make someone want to follow a rule.
I'm not really pointing my finger at any of you, because you're all fairly good at respecting the member base. I'm just saying that it's something you should avoid.

I agree with Remy, as I've seen some staffers act big headed/arrogant.
Also I'm not pointing any fingers. =P

Yea you guys can also tone down the sexual abuse you put the noobs through...I've seen your dirty work.
I respect staff though, I know how hard it can be to sometimes put a rpg before going out and having a good time with friends or maybe putting friends before the rpg and knowing that some of the members will automatically think you're lazy.
Sometimes staff can't win without losing you know? Anyway staff knows they're appreciated even though they can't control their urges o.o the animals.

If you guys have ever been pissed at me, apologies. I agree with what you're all saying though.
I see where constant nagging and arguing for the sake of arguing can get agitating in update threads and whatnot where you guys are really doing the work for our sake. I respect all of you guys and all, but you do sometimes act like asses. Not completely, and it has dimmed down.
Arrogance? It isn't to the point of narcissism, so I don't mind. For the most part, I think you guys are doing well. I'm glad Burter did DA07 now, because the activity needed to be uplifted.
As long as we're on staff and whatnot, I'd like to point out something I disagree with. Maybe you guys should be a little more lenient on MIA statuses? Bardock is on point, which is awesome, but since people feel like their writing is in vain, due to the reset, maybe up the MIA a week, so it's 3 weeks? That's all.
