What game should I get my brother for his birthday? Preferably something with the tag 'Greatist Hits' on it. He likes hooters I guess... and is not a nerd, so stuff like Spiderman and Dragonball Z is a no no. He likes RPGs though.

If anything for a non-gamer I would suggest something like Spiderman III(if that is even coming out for PS2), simply because of the buzz from the movie Spidey has a lot of popularity with none traditional "nerdy comic fans" right now. But a good second choice would probably be a Final Fantasy game, if he likes RPG's, he'd certainly like any FF title you would pick up for him. Although FF might be a 'tad nerdy...

My brother is playing God of War right now, actually. I should probably list the games we already have:

Grand Theft Auto: SA(Hade Vice City but it broke... I don't think he'd like it anyway, he beat it already)

And some sports games that don't work anymore. He's not a nerd, he just doens't like superheros and anime and stuff. He enjoys RPGs (his fav is Golden Sun I think).

He also plays a lot of Civilization and Romance of The Three Kingdoms on emulators.

Plus Kingdom Hearts 1&2. Hell they're only 20 bucks a peice and if you have enough cop him X-Men Legends 1 or 2...they're a bit like rpgs . OOHH or FFX ;P

I was contemplating Final Fantasy 10. It would keep him busy over the summer, yes?

And he would probably play an X-Men game. I actually think I remember him saying he wanted to get that. He doesn't like guitar, so he wouldn't like Guitar Hero.

Get him armored core 3, he'll like that.

Get him Final Fantasy X. It's $20 (possibly $10 at a used game store, if you're lucky), and it's downright incredible. Even if you don't obsess over the game as I do, the main quest can easily take at least 40 hours, and that's if you don't complete the side quests (which, together, could take another 60 hours). Final Fantasy XII would be another great choice, except that it's still $50 (I think).

Its basically a robot game, kinda, and you just upgrade it with different weapons, armour and all that crap. There's arenas, and missions. That is it basically, but its really sweet, so don't let my vague information fool you. xD

So liek, ya know... I'm probably going to get an RPG. I never played FFX, would it be an alright start-off point for someone who has never played a Final Fantasy game before? I don't want my bro to get it and go 'wtf is this shit?'.

2007 would be a very good choice.

I also know about the newest version of The Romance of 3 Kingdom shit, but its in Hiragana(Japanese)

Eliminating those 2 and in the RPG section...

He lubs RTSs as well. He plays Romance of the 3 Kingdom ROMS... which one is a good one for the PS2?

And that didn't answer my question >=(. Will he know what's going on in FFX (I've never played) if he hasn't played any of the others?

FFX- Starts off basically like any new RPG starts off. (Well, at least I got it.)

And yes as a matter of fact....

Romance of the Kingdoms 10(edited). It's unlikely buyable anywhere in America, I got mine off some Chinese kid on internet shopping (I'm a big fan of RTS games too xD) And like I warned, it's all Japanese. You could try looking for it, by chance you might find English versions or even places to buy. I highly doubt the possibilities, but you could try.

BTW RoK 10(edited) is really really hard to find, unless you want to do something really special for your brother, or else I'd suggest you go with FFX.
