Nah, I believe you. But even if they are unrelated (as in, my topic didn't cause this topic, which I don't think it did), it still seems like Staff is cracking down moreso than in the past.
Again, not to sound like a broken record, and not to piss anyone off, but my topic was locked for no actual reason. The Asylum has always been a harbor for spam, except in severe circumstances, such as Kirano. If the Potpourri Bowl is allowed, why wouldn't a mockery of a recent thread in the Asylum be allowed?
This question, combined with this topic here, shows that Staff is drawing a hard line. I'm just wondering where that line is, and who's drawing it.
I'm not questioning a word you're saying Rad, nor am I trying to fix/change/complain about anything. I'm just curious.

Nothing is being implimented at all. As I said, the only thing that's going to "change" is that we're going to start using a system we already have in place.
If you're not breaking any rules, then you have nothing to worry about. The rules aren't changing, there's no "this is something we're going to start warning for" guidelines in the staff forum. The administration of Chubbs decided that we've been getting too lenient about things that we really should be warning for. Its unfortunate that Vegeta got this posted before myself or Reijin, as I would have liked it to have been worded a bit differently, but the sentiment remains the same.
I'm sorry you thought the Max comment was a bit much, but I'm just being honest. I read this thread and my first thought was genuinely "wow... you guys sound like Max." Its not intended as an insult, but rather used as an attempt to illustrate how some of these replies sound from a staffer's view point.
Again, there's really nothing to get upset or worried about.

Since you've brought up a couple times, would you like your thread unlocked? I don't know who locked it, but I know it wasn't Rei, so I have no qualms opening it back up.
Yes, we do want to draw a hard line, but there's definitely a "feeling out" process that has to take place. I can only answer your question of where the line is by giving examples. The first one that comes to mind is a member posting in a staff-only thread; more often than not members are just told to get out of the thread, instead of being warned. Spamming a serious topic is another good example.
Really, we're just going to be adhering a bit closer to the actual rules. If the rules page is unclear about anything in that regard, let us know so we can work on revisions. If the rules page does adress particular sets of rules, check the various sticky threads in all the forums.
I know its not a crystal-clear drawing of the proverbial line, but I'm trying to articulate it as best as I can.

No no, it's cool. I mean, the topic's long served it's purpose, there's really nothing else to say in there. I was just curious.

There is a mile and a half between expressing conerns and a constant barrage of self serving, elitest comments.

I was talking to Red, comparing people who posted in this thread to Max.

Did something happen recently that provoked this? O.o
No, no single action prompted this. So stop conjecturing.
You know, saying 'stop guessing' would have made it a lot easier for me to understand. I had t go look up what that word meant, damn it.
I also have a thread that comes to mind about being stricter with staff warnings over certain things. I know there was no single issue that forced this warning, but I think the thread I have in mind may have contributed.
