Day One: Early Morning
#21
"Well well, back again."

Koola stood proudly beneath the moonlit night, the luminated landscape hiding a plethora of eager, powerful and brave warriors beyond sight. What an awesome opportunity! Not only was he supposed to kill people, which happened to be a favourite hobby of his, but his murdering finese would be broadcast all over the galaxy! What more could the Icer want than recognition he so sorely deserved?

Emphatically pulling open his drawstring bag, the changeling pawed through its contents. Food, water, an unusual looking device... he picked it out and examined it. Under the dimly lit sky it was hard to make out, but Koola wasn't interested in kissing. He wanted to know what it was.

Pushing a button, it made a bright flash of light. The startled prince dropped it, unaware of the sudden action it would take. He peered at it, steadily watching it lest it decided to attack him again. With a fast retrieval with his tail, Koola dropped the device back into the bag. Maybe he could scare someone else with it later.

As he closed his sack, it was then he noticed the clamp around his neck. He put a hand to it; it was cold as steel, and locked on tight. The prince quickly became indignant. Both hands reached for it, grasping it firmly to yank it off.

"I am no one's ---"

Koola was cut off by a warning beep. It felt as if fear became a knife and stabbed him in the gut. He remembered, from last year. Take off the collar, expect spontaneous combustion. The prince let his pride go for the sake of his participation.

"Can everyone hear me?" The overly homosexual host of Dante's Abyss' voice filled the air, despite the apparent lack of sound equipment. "Welcome to your new home for the next seven days! Here is all you need to know; find each other. Kill each other. If a winner is not found in seven days...nobody wins! So let's not let that happen, kay? Good luck, kiddies!"

"Boy, I hope the winner gets a little personal time with that queen."

Turning to the trees, the violet skinned fighter smirked, almost unable to contain his glee. "An entire island of victims..." he said quietly to himself, "just waiting for me."

Buu almost wanted to complain that he?d had no time to explore the Pre-Show area. But he knew the rules. In Dante?s Abyss, there was no time to wait for any one person. If you sagged behind, you were dead.

With that in mind, the monster checked his bag. ?I better get a fucking weapon this year ?? he grumbled, throwing his map and compass behind him as he dug down for the real goods. ?I swear to the Kais, if I find another fucking book filled with--OH SWEET KI SWORD!?

The golem pulled out the device and twirled it, a look of sheer joy radiating from his face. He bent his knees and pretended to spar with the air, slashing and slicing with an excitement only Dante?s Abyss could bring. For people like Super Buu, this really was better than Christmas.

Switching off the sword and tucking it into his belt, Supes threw everything haphazardly back in his bag and shouldered it. ?Time to get moving ??

Walking through the long trees, Buu felt slightly unnerved. Owls were hooting, and from time to time a rustle would cause him to tense up, only to never be heard again. To make matters worse, as he stepped out into a clearing he realised just where he was.

?Oh I get it.? He sneered up at the sky, as if he would find Karl Jak hiding up there snickering. ?Really fucking funny.?

They had dropped him in a graveyard.

With a sigh, Buu set out to find anything he could use. As far as he knew, he was the only student of Lord Vine?s here, so Metal Binding would be a great foot up on the competition. Jogging over to the large building which contained the yet-to-be-buried corpses, Supes glanced around at the walls. Candle holders, statues, nails ? all of it was good.

Throwing his palms out, Buu quickly grabbed the material with his mind and sent it zooming towards him. A bit of crashing was inevitable, but it was being quiet versus getting it done fast. Either way he was going to be vulnerable during the process.

His mind focused. Molecules shifted, forging new links and molding together into the shape the golem held in his mind. At first, it was just a mass of pulsating metal, and then slowly ? slowly ?

Buu opened his eyes. ?Brrring brrring, motherfucker.?

Feeling like a taller, better-looking Mace Windu, the golem set off. Soon the island would come to fear the sound of his bell.

Fire hurt.

Gokua recklessly rolled about on the barren ground, hands covering his face?clinging to his face?trying to extinguish flames that no longer breathed. His eyes burned with a pain that the Pathosian had never had the pleasure of knowing. If he knew he?d have experience to resort to. But he didn?t. This was no gunshot wound, no stab wound, no bruise nor scratch; a burn.

He could feel his pupils screaming for an end. His eyes urged to be gouged out, to be relieved of this burning. Gokua did not answer. He merely continued to scuffle and roll on the ground, hoping that the unfathomable pain would eventually fade away into something he could endure.

He thought back to what his father told him when he was merely a child.

Pathosians are not a strong race, boy. We do not have the power of an Icer, and fail to have the fiery determination of the Saiyan; Wisdom of the Nameks? eludes us, and the sheer intelligence of Man is within grasp, but just too high of a peak to climb. We?re simply in the middle. We extract from all races and that makes us. But, this I must tell you: the Pathosian military has no equal. We are the greatest band of men ever established?in the entire universe. That is a fact. They show no pain, and emotions are dulled down.

Gokua thought hard on his father?s words.

They show no pain.

He ceased his bitch-rolling. Though it was instinct that kept his palms to his face, Gokua?s will urged them downward, back to his sides. Steam exhaled from his face to go upward, immediately assimilating into the air. Gokua?s eyes were jammed shut in an idiotic effort to ease the pain. Gokua opened them. His eyes were completely red; the iris purple. His beautiful teal skin in the area of half of his nose to this midpoint of his forehead to each eyebrow had been scorn, but not severely.

Gokua could barely see. All that he saw was gray, and he was looking up at the sky. He blinked once, twice, thrice. His vision began to come back, and he began to see the sky in its true color, though it was still quite hazed.

He got up from the cold ground, wobbling has he erected himself, but he found his way back to standing. He glanced to his left; there laid his spork. Such a fucked up weapon he was bestowed with. It didn?t matter though; he needed it?for now. He picked it up off of the ground and shoved it into his pants? pocket. He checked to see if he still had that backpack buckled on. He did.

His vision continued to come back into focus, but not completely. But he walked anyway.

If a winner is not found in seven days...nobody wins! So let's not let that happen, kay? Good luck, kiddies!"

It was just then when the Android awoke with a thud on the ground. It seemed he had overslept.Argh...Just what I needed. He looked around to see his surroundings. The moon was high in the crisp night air, it made the small android shudder. He looked through his survival bag, and looked through all his supplies. He found an outdated scouter, but somehow his own didn't work in this abandoned area. There must not be an electricity source around here. He thought as he put the scouter on adjusting it to his eyes. He also found a Battle Charger which he attached immediately to his shoulder. He climbed up to his feet easily, and pondered around. He glanced back and forth to make sure no one was tracking him. With a sigh, he walked slowly towards population.

A twig cracked, an owl screeched in the night air. Everything seemed to be against himself, he was 100% alerted at this point and was quite scared by now. He looked along the road and noticed a couple of shadows. The small android walked on slowly to see two people, an alien with a mohawk and a green man that was three times his own size. They seemed to be discussing about teaming up. The android was scared, he slowly walked back and hit his back against a tree with a big thud. Oh... Crapple Snapples. The android groaned lightly and jumped into a bush to take cover.

Minutes and miinutes went by, the android was getting quite uncomfortable in the push. The leaves were stuck in his suit, and the little thorns pricked him. The android was now frustrated, he rather die than being uncomfortable. He poked his head up slowly and peered outside.

He saw the two man had already moved to where he bumped into the tree. They were now alerted and glancing around for any signs of opponent. The green man seemed to be especially blood thirsty, and the alien had a serious expression on his face. The machine hybrid, recognized the green man was Retane. They had met briefly in the barracks.

The android knew he was dangerous, and squashed down. Although he wasnt uncomfortable, he didn't wanna get ripped apart.

Sazuaa chucked his bag over his shoulder and let out a soft sigh as he casually took in his surroundings. Finally the game had begun.

"Can everyone hear me?" Came a oddly effeminate male voice from a megaphone attached to a tree just to the aliens left. ?Welcome to your new home for the next seven days! Here is all you need to know? Find each other, kill each other. If a winner is not found in seven days, nobody wins, so let?s not let that happen, kay? Goodluck kiddies!?

The blue skinned warrior raised his arm and tugged gently on the mechanical collar locked tightly around his neck. If memory served him correctly from the Dantes Abyss, Conquest competition, the device was there to restrain his ability to fly, which was going to make travel alot more difficult and tedious. But the alien took solace in the fact that atleast he wasn't alone, everyone of the competitors had the same setback.

Sazuaa unzipped his bag and hastily rummaged through it before pulling out a standard edition scouter, which he carefully attached to his right ear.

The non-transformer didn?t really have a strategy as such, all he knew was this time he wasn?t sitting back and waiting on other people, this time he was going to get his hands dirty, the earlier the better. Allies weren?t high on his agenda, although, if the opportunity of a capable ally arose he might be persuaded into pairing up to increase his chances of progressing further in the tournament.

Once again Sazuaa reached into his bag, this time pulling out a map. After afew seconds he had found his location on the island and what he thought could be some potential hot-spots for his enemies close by.

Folding the map back up and placing it back in his bag, Sazuaa set off. It was time to show what he was made of.

"So... when can I start killing people?" Raditzu had asked himself, still comfortably settled on his bunk in the Barracks.

A loud-speaker suddenly flared to life, alerting all the warriors to facet of the event. Rad didn't care; he heard Karl Jak's voice and immediately tuned it out. Though it may not be particularly PC, the long-hiared saiyan wanted nothing to do with whatever came out of that fag's mouth. Though paying a little bit of attention might have helped prepare him for the entire room suddenly disappearing.

-----------------------

How does the saying go? Its not the fall that kills you, its the sudden stop at the end? Raditzu truly wished that were the case for him. Whatever method by which the contestants had been teleported had dropped Raditzu quite unceremoniously on the decline of a rather steep hill. Moreover, he had still been in a sitting position when he landed, which only assisted gravity in propelling him towards more level ground.

Though the embarrassment of such a display would have been sufficient punishement for the long-haired wonder, the variety of rocks and vegetation did a good job of adding insult to the proverbial injury. Twelve seconds into the Dante's Abyss tournament and the only thing going for Raditzu was the soft, spongy ground that broke his fall. Even his bag of supplies had found it appropriate to come flying down the hill and introduce itself to the back of its owner's head.

"Guh... I really hope there aren't cameras around..." the saiyan moaned as he pulled himself to his feet.

The saiyan was prepared to further pontificate about how annoying his current predicament was when a rustling in a bush behind him jarred his warrior instincts to life. With cat-like precision and speed, Raditzu lept to his feet, scooping up a rock as he did. When the bush rustled again the warrior took aim and let fly with the small stone projectile. A sharp crack informed Rad that he had struck true and he was readying himself for a full charge when a small rabbit tumbled from the bush, the rock lodged half-way into its skull.

"Wow. What a fearsome warrior I am..."

Rad grabbed his bag and quickly fled the scene. It had been tempting to take the dead bunny with him, a true testament to his mighty throwing arm, but he didn't want to risk getting bunny brains in his hair -- getting the smell out was no small feat.

As the saiya-jin moved through the increasingly dense foliage, he tapped through various menus on his scouter and brought up a small digital version of the DA map. He had seen a couple warriors use this feature of the DA scouter last year, but had never bothered with it himself. He noted his location and procured the compass from his bag. Fortunately he had already been moving in the direction he wanted to go, so it was with a slight spring in his step that he continued on.

Face to Face

Reijin, Vegeta

Sazuaa

Vegeta stood proudly over the top of the cliff, looking down at the beautiful island. Not that he would ever admit it's beauty. For him, it was just one more peice of rock that he would eventually rule over. This land would be his by the end of the seven days. He would be the last man standing in the Abyss. "How fitting for the Prince of all Saiyans," he declared to himself.

There was at least one person who had no plans for Vegeta to walk away the winner. And that person was right behind him.

Veggie heard the rustling of metal just as something was swung. Immediately, he went into defensive mode and spun around just in time to avoid being ripped apart by a flail. His hand got caught in the crossfire of the spikey metal ball, causing it to be penetrated.

"Damn!" Vegeta cursed. He gripped his hand as he moved to the side so he wasn't against the end of the cliff. "How dare you try and sneak against ME!"

Sazuaa was the blue man who had come up behind him. "All's fair in love and war," the man explained. "Especially this war."

The saiyan prince grimaced as he released his bloody hand. "Well, let's see how you do when you don't have the element of surprise!"

Vegeta lunged forward, surprised at how fast Sazuaa turned out to be. His punches with his one good hand missed thanks to the speed of the opponent. Sazuaa, on the other hand, remained extremely confident thanks to his sneak attack throwing Veggie off guard.

Using the butt of his flail, Sazuaa smashed against Vegeta's face and cracked a bone, causing the prince to hit the ground right in front of the cliff's edge. He raised up the fail, ready to deal the final blow on the shocked saiyan. There was no way that the PRINCE of ALL saiyans could be beaten just like that!

Just as Vegeta planned his counterstrike, Sazuaa let out a grunt and fell forward. Using his good arm, the prince hoisted the falling Saz over him and finally over the cliff.

Sazuaa dropped like a rock, all the way down the cliff's face towards the rocky ground below. One second he was about to make his first kill...the next he was falling to a rather gruesome end. He hit the ground with a hard thud, the only sound other then his grunt was his bones cracking and breaking.

Back up on the cliff, Vegeta stood, grunting. It wasn't exactly the gracefull finish he was hoping for. He turned to see what had caused Sazuaa's fall...to find a new figure standing there. "...Reijin?"

The fellow saiyan didn't even smile as he greeted what used to be his best friend. "Hello, Vegeta."

45 Remain

Sazuaa has a broken arm and is ridiculously scratched up and bruised. Major injury

Vegeta's right hand is unusable due to being hit with the flail. Minor injury

Thump.

With that coherent sound, Zangya?s lanky form crashed against the blades of grass on Dante Island. Lying exhausted on the ground for a second, Zangya?s quick rest was soon interrupted by the sound of Karl Jak?s voice coming over the intercom?Dante?s Abyss 2007 was starting.

?Can everyone hear me?? he said, his voice booming from various megaphones spread across the island, ?Welcome to your new home for the next seven days! Here is all you need to know,? he said, a slight chuckle escaping his lips as he spoke. His next words were forceful and direct: ?Find each other. Kill each other. If a winner is not found in seven days?nobody wins! So let?s not let that happen, ?kay? Good luck, kiddies!?

Zangya pressed her palms against the ground and raised herself up to a squatting position, taking her face out of the dirt. The place was dark, and Zangya could barely see where she was going as she began her trek. Shaking her head, she slid the black knapsack off of her shoulder and unzipped it, peeking in and picking out a compass from its contents. She also noticed a scouter inside; smiling, she adjusted it to her face and snapped on the contraption with a see-through green screen for the information to appear on. With the light on the side of the scouter, however tiny it may have been, Zangya attempted to light the compass so she could find which direction was west.

Soon, the little needle pointed north, and, smiling, Zangya realized where west was. Doing a one-eighty turn, the Ader began stepping west, heading towards who-knows where; who she would face, she did not know. What would happen? She did not know. But there was one thing she did know:

This was going to be life changing.

Crackle.

That sound came swiftly from the trees around her; looking around frantically, she attempted to quickly unzip the bag and reach inside instinctively. Pulling out the random weapon she had been given, she flipped on the chi pistol?s energy reserve and aimed it recklessly around the clearing.

?Come out!? she called.

Nothing.

?If you?re there, come on out! Don?t be cowardly!?

Still nothing.

Breathing heavily, Zangya turned to the west yet again. Sliding the chi pistol back into the bag as she deactivated the energy reserve, Zangya began walking yet again, zipping her bag closed as she did so.

Dante?s Abyss 2007 had just begun.

The humid air made for a really uncomfortable trek through the jungle of the unknown island. He took a small sip from his bottle of water and placed it back into his bag. Para made sure his weapon was still holstered at his side. Constantly shoving large branches out of his way annoyed the old saiyan. The game he was in now was nothing like conquest. This time he was alone and with every second that passed someone, somewhere was getting closer.

He quickly skimmed over the contents of his already worn out map. He had mapped out where he wanted to go and he was on his way. Time doesnt wait for anyone, so he had to move. The sun glared down on the aged elite and all the saiyan could think about was how it was going to get much worse by the afternoon. He wiped the sweat dripping sweat from his forehead.

Flashback

The cot wasn?t very comfortable, but it wasnt going to be long before the saiyan would be whisked away into DA. The loud speaker flicked on and a voice cleared their throat. "Ladies and Gentlemen," came a voice on the intercom in the VIP Room.

"It's Karl Jak here! I hate to interrupt, but we are above the island. The game will begin in 20 seconds! Your location will be marked on your map! Good luck!"

Para knew that it was time to go. He left the barracks and proceeded to the exit. A man stood there with a bag ready to hand the elder. He grabbed the leather strapped backpack and bolted out the door.

End of flashback

Para had done a bit of traveling since then, but his dash was just about over. He stopped in his tracks and looked around. A tiny mosquito landed on his bare arm and began to drink his blood. The saiyan swiftly struck it down. He stared at the palm of his white glove where the blood soaked and mangled corpse of the insect rested.

?Something tells me that you wont be the only one I kill today.?

He looked down at his map and back up at his surroundings. He had arrived.

The night was wanning down, and Retane hadn't found a victim as of yet. He looked back to his comrade who also seemed like he wanted a fight, just to break the ice. The mercenary looked ahead of him, as he moved cautiously, stepping out on onto the dirt road. His dark eyes shifted multiple times with each step he took. A thud behind him, caused the rogue to nearly jump out of his skin.

He glanced back to make sure it was just Tapion, and no one sneaking up on them. With a confirmed sigh the mercenary began to proceed, hoping to make it across the road without getting ambushed.

It was then that Tapion strode past him, leaving the assassin with a dumbfounded expression.

The Konat turned to his freind and gave a quirk smile, "You need to relax Retane, it's just a road. You're not going be targetted everytime you're out in the open. Besides, the longer you stay in it, the more you risk of being shot at."

The mercenary paused for a moment, taking consideration of what his ally had said. He made a point with every word he had spoke, there was no arguing about that. The rogue knew as well, that he was taking things too seriously and needed to calm himself down. With a slight shake of his head, the jade fighter let out a grunt to hide his defeat and started forward.

"Oh! Wipe your chin off", came the chuckling moheakan."I think you got some dirt on it when your jaw hit the ground just then."

The warriort paused for a moment, not sure as to what he was talking about, and raised his hand to rub his chin. Afterwards, he inspected his hand, to insure that there was no dirt there, and agaion, gave a curious glance to Tapion. A slight frown crossed his face when he understood that he hjad been duped and set up for the joke.

Oh how the namek felt ebarassed and gulible.

The early morning was dawning on Dante Island. It was day one, which meant that things were about to get a lot tougher than just sitting in a barracks talking to your opponents. Zangya trekked northwest towards the large hilltop in the very center of the island, as slowly, the sun peeked over the horizon line behind her. The moon, she could see straight ahead, was nearing the spot on the western curve where it would fall into an abyss of sightlessness, and it was truly beginning to feel as if the day was new now.

The princess of warriors adjusted her survival bag on her shoulder, her steps making a slight wispy sound as they passed through the grass beneath her feet. Suddenly, she heard the faint sound of a wolf?s howl. The cry of the night whistled into her ears like a siren?s song, calling for her to sample the flesh of the nocturnal beast. Licking her lips, she turned towards the noise, and stepped through the large columns of oak towards the source of the harmonic yelp.

As the canopy above her disappeared, Zangya lowered her form into the tall grasses of the isle, soon lying prone as she spied her prey sitting innocently on the peak of a large boulder. Slowly, the hunter pulled her chi pistol from inside the raven-colored knapsack, and turned on the chi emitters. She aimed the barrel at the wolf?s juicy-looking collarbone, and then heaved her finger backwards, and a solid blast of golden chi flew from the barrel, speeding towards the wolf. Within seconds, it struck the creature?s d?colletage, and the canine predator fell from its perch, having become the prey.

?Got you,? Zangya muttered, and then lifted herself from the ground and raced silently over to the spot where the wolf lay limp. Taking her sharp nails, she took the time to rip the fur off the canine, and then pulled a slab of meat from his dead body. Of course, it?d have to be washed before it was eaten, and as far as she knew, she was nowhere near water, and she did not want to use her drinking supply to clean it. She knew that she had two days worth of food left?if she found a stream or something within two days, she?d have another day with this slab.

The princess of battle made her way back below the awning of vegetation that encompassed the forest. She found her way back to the road, and once again began trekking westward, heading towards the large hilltop in the center of the island that they were on.

"Find each other. Kill each other." the request was quite simple, that's why it played over and over in the changelings head.

The distant silence was even more unnerving than the brash promise of death that would follow, but King Cold's stern visage was a well enough front to conceal that underlying fear. Shuffling through his dufflebag he found enough bread and water to last him a couple of days, if he'd managed to avoid crossing another mans sights for that long. It was well enough, so he tasted the bread and decided to get a move on. Water crashed against the shore, laying over the sand, snatching his attentiveness for but a moment. The moon wasn't as high in the sky as it had been earlier, but its luminance reflected off the murky water with its prominent light as it had earlier.

"I wish they'd given us cigarettes..." Cold groaned, removing his designated weapon from its keeping and staring just over its sights. Satisfied, in his own right, he stepped off the beachfront and proceeded into the heart of the island that was their prison. It would keep them until they died, Cold was fine with those terms.

He avoided the paths that had been marred into the earth, for the most part. It wasn't sensible to travel the main road's, although he figured everyone else would be travelling through the vegetation as he did. It was quite ideal the extremes of his arrogance to be cut, while he retained his confidence. It had been his downfall several times and he licked his parched lips, thinking back to when he'd entered Conquest and fallen to the golem of manly pink construction.

"I wonder where Koola's gone off to?" he mused aloud as he stopped to pull the scouter from his bag and fit it over his face. With the push of a button it sprang to life with the monotonous bleep bleeping that was the essence of a scouter.

The reptilian licked his face as he walked trough the forest, he had left the lighthouse and taken a few bottles of water from there. The gator-like alien felt as the lighthouse was too easy to be found and killed in. Raspberry heard some noise in the bushes he climbed up from a tree and to see who it was, the warrior was ready to attack. He?s thoughts were going wild...

?What if it?s a strong one, what if I will die, what if... what if... what if...?

He was ready to attack until the enemy came from the bushes, a bunny it was a small little bunny. The stomach of Rasp was crumbling like the thunder he was getting hungrier every time he watched the small cute bunny, he went down to the bunny having a need to kill the bunny for food. The small bunny looked with its black, shiny eyes. Raspberry could feel that it was frightened, he carried the bunny to a hiding placed and took the bread from his survival bag.

He took a good large chunk of the bread. ?This tastes like crap I need meat... Hopefully I find a deer or something...?

He walked a long way trough the woods thinking about how it would feel to win, was it much popularity if you win maybe price money or what? The main objective was to keep yourself alive. And Raspberry was going to try to keep it that way with all his power.

?No time to waste...Someone may be heading this way...I better run,? Rasp mentioned with a silent voice and then he did a small run forward. The greenish alien ran until he saw the edge of the mountain again, he looked down at the rocks and the see. He got a funny feeling in his stomach, what if he would fall, he quickly turned and saw some forest he walked to the forest looking at the edge.

Now he would not want to fall down committing a suicide, he just turned and ran off to the forest. He walked to a tree and lied down. Raspberry?s heart was beating harder than ever before, maybe it was because of the cliff edge. Was he afraid to fall down, now that he could not fly in the Dante Abyss?

The emotions of the grotor-jin were flowing... It was as if he was feeling every emotion on the same time. Even if he was not wanting to die he wanted to fight someone, that was the only way to win...By killing and continuing to live. Even if he was tired he did not close his eyes, it was not sure what was going to happen in a blink of an eye. Maybe there would be a silhouette of a gun or maybe a sword by you throat you never know.

Oomph!

Spice smacked against the surface like a sack of potatoes, followed by a small brown pack landing heavily upon his chest. The cyan warrior stood to his feet and released a sour grunt while wiping his garments free of loose soil. Snatching the weight-hardy bag from the ground, Spice untied the fastener and peeked inside. He cocked a brow before dumping the contents out over the ground, staring at the scattered items as if they were segments of a missile. It was like a Neanderthal discovering fire for the first time; he was rather reluctant to touch anything.

?Does this come with a manual?? the Makyo muttered to himself before picking up a small device; it appeared to be electronic and was coveted with a small emerald screen. Without much deliberation, he placed the item to the side of his head, considering the inner padding held the raw shape of an ear; except he put it on backwards. Fiddling around with it, Spice managed to place it appropriately, which disoriented his vision on the left eye. He wasn?t used to seeing everything in green from one eye, and normal from the other.

?Ah, water!? he exclaimed, twisting the cap off a cylindrical bottle and chugging away as two streams of clear liquid seeped out from his mouth and crawled to the base of his chin. Spice lowered the bottle and wiped his maw of the loose water, letting out a refreshing gasp of satisfaction. He then spotted a sealed pack of sliced bread which definitely looked tasty, but it was evident he would have to ration his supplies if he planned to survive this place, wherever it was.

?Ooh, food! I?m starving! Come on, just one bite, just ONE BITE!? Spice snarled as his tongue swung loose out from a drooling mouth. However, his tone was far different than before, it was almost as if the Makyo had been forced to hold himself back; an intrapersonal conflict if you will.

?No! We have to preserve what we have? the cyan warrior barked in response, his standard tone had returned. He then spotted another small device with a red button embedded into the center. Spice picked it up and analyzed it before curiously pressing the button. The brute was thrown off balance as the item expanded into a large vest within the blink of an eye. Instinctively, the Makyo fired a small blast of energy from his palm toward the strange artifact; and much to his surprise, the destructive Ki ball simply diminished into thin air.

The milky-haired soldier blinked a few times before poking the vest. Luckily, nothing happened; no self-destruct mechanism, no poison projectiles, just a simple vest. Seeing what it had done to his attack, Spice deemed it rather useful if it could sustain those same effects against future opponents. Suddenly the emerald screen placed securely over his face lit up with an arrow pointing north, followed by a series of random symbols that remained foreign to the cyan warrior for the time being.

?North it is then??

Pikkon

Spice

There was one thing that Pikkon had gathered from his few hours on the island, and it was quite simple. You couldn't live for a week on bread and water, and there was no way he could get far with just a map and a compass. Which is why he snuck into a house and took what he could: tools, lantern, food...anything he could carry in his bag that looked useful.

The house had originally belonged to someone, but no doubt they were forced to leave so the island could be used a battleground. Things remained quiet as he worked to fish up the supplies.

Letting out a sigh, the lone green warrior looked up into the mirror of the hallway to see himself.

And someone else.

Pikkon spun around just in time to hear the evil words of the teal, white-haired warrior say "Boo." With a flash of light from his hand, the ki hurled itself at Pik and flew him backwards, straight threw a door into the kitchen of the house.

The personality of Spice that called himself Mace grinned. "Idiot," he muttered. This was almost too easy for him. "Time to finish you."

The green contestant stumbled to his feet, grunting. As he looked up, another flash of ki tossed him backwards into the kitchen table, shattering it under him. He was hardly given a chance to think before he hit the kitchen ground, a mess. He looked up to see the killer suddenly falling back.

"Stop it!" Spice shouted at himself as he fell back against a wall. Pikkon blinked as he pulled himself up. "Stop it, Mace! You don't have to kill him! There's a better way to play this game!" Spice's lips turned into a growl as Mace took over again. "Shut up, Ginseng! This is how you win! He WILL die!"

Before Ginseng could take over again and speak through Spice's lips, a bag was thrusted over the Makyo-jin head. Pikkon closed his grocery bag around the white-topped head and held tight, cutting off the air supply and effectively suffocating him. This wasn't exactly the most graceful way to kill, Pikkon figured, but it was damn sure better then dying.

Inside Spice's head, the four personalities were frantic, all trying to take over the body in order to save them from certain death. Mace blamed Ginseng, while Ginseng blamed Mace. Spice tried to remain the neutral party in the arguement.

Meanwhile, the personality unaccounted for, Licorice, suddenly took over Spice's head and hurled it back, headbutting Pikkon right in his green face. After the skull cracked a bit, Pik flew down again, hitting the ground just as hard as last time.

Licorice hit the ground too on his knees and scrambled away, throwing the bag to the side. "I'm sorry!" He cried out as he ran, "Don't kill me! Please don't!"

And before Pikkon could say "What the fuck?", the cowardice persona of Spice was out the door and running for his life.

Goku Jr

The moon was starting to go down from the island, but the sun had yet to actually peek out and threaten the night. A lone cyborg continued her trek from the beach, into the wilderness through a small dirt road. It was extremely quiet, and extremely dark.

She shivered a bit from the cold as she pulled her bag closer on her shoulder. Things seemed calm. Peaceful. A nice change of pace. She looked down at her map and weapon to check how she was doing.

That was when Goku Jr, spunky saiyan boy to the end, ran right into her long, slender legs. Eighteen toppled over like a falling tree.

"Oof!" She grunted, dropping her stuff. GJ went off course at the sudden bump in his high-speed jog, stopping only for a large tree trunk in his way. He too hit the ground with a thud after bumping his head.

Both fighters clicked what had happened immediately. No small talk and no goofing off. It was time to fight. Eighteen was the first, not even stopping to check her opponent before she threw a punch. Goku Jr was up just as quick a moment later, leaping up above the jab and kicking the beautiful girl right in the face.

The strike took her by surprise and she fell sideways, rolling to catch her footing. This time when Goku threw several punches, she was ready to catch every one and jab him backwards into the tree.

"Ouch!" He yelped, but it didn't stop him from using the tree to kick off. "Take THIS, lady!"

Eighteen sidestepped and caught his foot, then spinning around in a circle with him. She then proceeded to hurl him like a ball up into the air. When he didn't stop in the air and come back down, she realized her error. Goku Jr couldn't fly.

"Oops," she whispered. "My bad."

Hundreds of feet away, Goku Jr smashed to the ground.

Junior?s pupils dilated as they attempted to recover from the blinding flash that had mysteriously transported him. Although he saw many spots, it was blatantly obvious that he no longer was in the pre-show barracks of Dante?s Abyss. The roof that had briefly served as shelter for him was now gone; replaced by the loneliness of the night sky. The diverse warriors that had once surrounded him were gone as well; his only company was now the jaded grasslands of the planet Dante and the dirt roads that ran through them.

Seconds passed and the young saiyan?s vision bettered. He could now fully take in the scenery and realize the reality of the situation as he began to search through a bag that had been given to him. Within it were contents that were said to be vital to his survival in the dangerous game he now played. One by one he pulled out each item and thoroughly examined them.

Taking no longer than a minute or so, Junior let out a sigh of disappointment as he finished. ?I guess there?s no way around it. I have to kill someone??

The young saiyan then placed the bag behind him; allowing both arms to pass through its straps and having his shoulders take on the weight of its contents. Junior then proceeded to follow one of the many paths that lied before him.

Scanning ahead the hybrid stepped with caution. Searching for any signs of life as a hungry lion would in the barren desert. Within his mind were no thoughts, instead each cell worked hard trying to take everything in. Notice any motion. Hear any sounds. His body was somewhat relaxed but tensed at the same time. Not a sound could be heard-like a trained ninja in the darkest of shadows-as Junior dashed through the night.

Two pieces of bread is definitely not enough?four is acceptable.

As his tongue slipped back between his lips, he closed his eyes, nestling down into the pillow which gave about as much comfort as a paper bag stuffed with rocks. Clearly they weren't pulling out all the stops to give their fighters the creature comforts. He grunted, raising his head, and thrusting it back into the pillow in an attempt to soften the lumps. But all he managed to do was release a poot of horrid smelling dust from either side of the pillow.

At his side, one of the other contestants placed his hand over his purple nose, a look of disgust coming across his face. "Aw dude...did you just cut one?" Was the reply in a thick surfer dude accent, the bumpy rough hand waving in front of the alien's face in an attempt to thin out the dust.

Kollifum sat up, shaking the fart dust out. His face looked as if someone had just given him a chocolate Hitler mustache, and it smelled just as bad. He parted his lips to shoot back a response at the grape faced humanoid, something along the lines of 'go to hell asshole', or something equally witty, but it was cut short by the loud snap crackle and pop of the speakers.

"Ladies and Gentlemen,"A voice that instantly grated on Kol's nerves echoed out. It was like some greasy snake oil salesman ready to give his pitch. "It's Karl Jak here! I hate to interrupt, but we are above the island. The game will begin in 20 seconds! Your location will be marked on your map! Good luck!"

And there it was. Snake oil, blood for the fans, same difference. Sitting up, he planted his right hand to the side of the bed, and pulled himself to stand. There was barely a moment for him to stand under his own strength before he was enveloped in light, like a flash grenade popping in his eyes.

He placed the back of his fist to his right eye, rubbing profusely as he cursed. Son of an ass whore, and a few others passed his lips. His pupil adjusted, and he still managed to see a dot of white light everywhere he looked as that slicker then spit voice made itself apparent again. "Can everyone hear me?"

"Clear as a bell..." The Saiyan mumbled, flexing his fingers out before him, rolling his arms at the joints, general stretches and what have you before he started exerting himself.

"Welcome to your new home for the next seven days! Here is all you need to know:

Find each other. Kill each other.

If a winner is not found in seven days...nobody wins! So let's not let that happen, kay? Good luck, kiddies!"

Kol stuffed his hand inside the survival pack, and removed what he already knew was placed inside. The Scouter. Slapping it over his ear, and adjusting the grip, he took a moment to watch his surroundings. Grass, beach, open sky. The obvious open ended beauty lost on him, it wasn't the time for fawning over pretty flowers. This was a battlefield, and ugly or a portrait of beauty, it would stay that way.

His boot sunk into sand, and he stepped off towards the shoreline. West. West was a good choice. It started with W. So did win. Clearly this logic was infallible.

Retane, Tapion

Android 15

The trek had begun at midnight, but it had lasted for hours now. Tapion led the duo in the dark, remaining determined to reach shelter before they stopped to rest out in the open. Retane, behind him, kept an open and perhaps paranoid eye out with his weapon.

That when Tap's elf ear twitched and he stopped walking. Retane bumped into him. "Oof!" He grunted, "What the deal?" The namek asked impatiently.

Tapion looked to the left, towards the row of bushes they'd been next to for awhile. "Someone's there. Following us. Has been for an hour or so." The Konat squinted a bit to try and see through the bushes, but no luck.

"Oh, really?" Retane asked. He smiled a bit, almost a smirk, and then stepped forward into the bushes. "Come on out," he beckoned. "We won't hurt you."

Very cautiously, the figure in the bushes pressed a button on the device in his arm, and then stepped out, swallowing hard. Tapion kept a grip in his bag, just in case. Retane kept the smirk going.

"How's it going?" He asked kindly, "I'm Retane. This is Tapion."

"Fifteen," The purple man responded. "Sorry I was, uh..."

"It's alright," Retane smiled nicely. "We don't mind, right Tap?" Retane turned to see Tap, who just nodded without speaking. "I've played this before, it's better to team up then go alone. Stick with us."

There wasn't a whole lot of choice for the machine hybrid. He could have said no, sure, but what good would that do? He could never outrun these guys. So he stepped forward. "Okay, sure, I guess."

Retane then held up the gun behind him. Tapion kept a straight face so as to not give anything away.

Fifteen then heard the namekian speak behind him. The fake-nice voice was gone, and it was back to Retane's evil, dark whisper of a voice. "Naive little newbie," he growled.

That was when the trigger was pulled. A large, sharp nail stuck into the back of the robotic head and out the other side, through his forehead. Fifteen's eyes went blank in front of Tapion, who grimaced.

The purple body hit the ground on it's knees, then it's chest. Retane didn't stop smirking. First blood was his, and he knew it. It felt fucking fantastic.

But it came at the price of a hopeful, scared android who just wanted to have fun.

The island, at last.

Celipa's backpack strap was giving her a rather uncomfortable armpit wedgie, and the lack of light forced her to trip over objects that would usually pose no issue - rocks, air, her own feet. That sort of thing. Since she was in this situation though, she was determined to make the best of it. With a grin on her face and a jutting metallic object protruding from her backpack, Celipa was pretty sure that she was able to make an impact here on the island. And her progress on the pathway was made apparent by a soft patting of her boots on dirt, so she could keep relative track of her progress on her map.

Then, for the first time since she had arrived on this hell-hole, the saiyaness spotted what appeared to be a large source of light in the form of a reflection, on a relatively large lake. Her heart sang and she pranced over to its edge happily. The beautiful crescent moon was a sight for sore eyes, and Celipa allowed her backpack to slide off her arm and onto the bank of the lake. Her fatigue was minimal, but she still found comfort resting there in the grass, with her legs stretched out peacefully as she laid back and let out a yawn.

But she was in no position for a nap. The warrior saiyan sat herself up and propped her backpack up as well, plunging her hand down into its depths. Her dainty fingers pawed past her map, a compass, and then she gripped the handle of her assigned weapon. A grin spread across her visage as she pulled it out. The same giddy grin that she had worn when she discovered it there for the first time.

Lady Luck had the hots for her, and though Celipa wasn't into the lesbian scene, she wasn't about to shoot the fair woman down with these odds. She rose to her feet, shouldering her gun proudly as she scanned the area. Here in Dante's Abyss, there were hunters and prey. And she was quickly going to become a hunter.

"I'd better keep an eye out for Bujin. Don't wanna tear his miniature legs off with this baby," she chortled to herself.

The saiyan soldier stood stiff like a statue, her eyes rolling and patrolling indefatiguably. First figure to crawl into her line of fire was getting the boot, in the form of fire-arm related death.
