Day One: Morning
#21
"Day one: morning."

Koola staggered up the hillside, the heavy downpour making the grassy slope intractable to his three toed footsteps. More than once he had lost his composure, but thankfully no one had seen him. Battling the raindrops slapping against his bare skin, he reached the peak of the hill. Dark, ominous clouds rolled on and on through the sky, drenching the island in a fine mist that blurred the landscape in the distance. Beams of sunlight peeked through the only crack in the sullen heavens, acting like a beacon, drawing the changeling's attention. Once again, his appreciation of the beauty of nature captivated him.

"Ahhh..." he sighed, relaxing during an event that perhaps he shouldn't be. "I reached the top of the hill, only to have a grey blanket prevent me from scouting the island. However, I was lucky enough to glimpse the majesty of heavenly light break through the dull." Koola had grown tired with the lack of action, and decided to narrate his every move. "I felt an itch on my arse; I scratched."

With no true compass and no indication of where his father could be, Koola digged around in his satchel for an item that might help. He found a scouter; he stuck it enthusiastically to the left side of his face.

"I felt so naked without my scouter," he continued to narrate. "Putting it back on, I couldn't believe how much I missed it. Perhaps, one day, we'll have a torrid love affair." Yet, the mechanised energy reader did not contain the unique pattern that belonged to King Cold. It could do little more than alert him to anything alive nearby, whether that be his father, another combatant, or the various critters that could be roaming upon the land.

With a little more searching, he located a fresh map, something he glossed over earlier. Koola pulled it out and unrolled it like a scroll, but the relentless precipitation began to dampen it.

"AH!" the changeling shouted, his voice unintentionally echoing over the island. "My map! My map! My map!" He started dancing around like a fool. Quickly he stuffed it back into his drawstring bag and took a running slide down the hillside. Ducking under the cover of a nearby oak tree, he retrieved it and examined it again. There were several interesting landmarks, but only one really got the Icer's attention. Smirking, he rolled the map up again and threw it in the bag for safe keeping.

"Deciding upon my next move," Koola cataloged aloud, "I stood beneath the almighty protection of the oak tree and began on my way for my destination. Would I find my father? Would I maim someone terribly along the way? Stay tuned for the next update of Koola: The Dante Years!"

?Ouw,? moaned the woman softly, awakening from her heavy slumber, breathe smelling strongly of alcohol, head pounding from a nasty hangover, due to her over drinking of Don Perignon. A squirrel began trailing all over her body. It reached her face, inspecting the new woman as it began sniffing her cheeks. ?Stop that,? she groaned. ?I?m not a chestnut.? She certainly was not. She did not smell like one either, ew. It immediately got the message and vamoosed.

The voice of Mr Jack boomed through his megaphone, causing her to let out a loud shriek. ?For the love of God? she complained covering her ears, which were irritable to any heavy sound at present time, also closing her eyes.

??And now, it's time to announce the new forbidden zones! These zones will be activated in six hours, at the noon update! If you're in one of these spots at noon??The woman suddenly found herself flinching, due to the loud ?BOOM!? He laughed, to add insult to injury.

?Fuck you Jack, FUCK.YOU!? she bellowed towards the sky.

?C1??

?Hold on,? she called out, ?shit.? She still needed to refresh herself. Was this guy impatient or what?

?D4? he continued, obviously not waiting up.

?Slow down,? she said scrimmaging through the bag for the first time, in search of her map. The young woman had no idea where she even was.

?Shit! I think he called mine out. I better get a move on, before I go BOOM!?

"So why is it that you did what you did?"

The question seemed to constantly linger between the pair, and yet neither of them seemed to provide the appropriate answer for it. The air was beginning to warm up a bit, but the rain was still falling heavily around the two to their irritation, although they put very little thought into it beyond that. Some fighters would be taking cover in the shelters during this downpour, but the two of them had decided to continue their trek.

"It was something I had to do."

Reijin glanced over at the Prince and nodded slowly, forcing himself to accept this answer as a complete one, regardless of how little it actually told him. "That's it then?"

The shorter Saiyan gave a sharp nod back. "You'll just have to accept that. I think everything has been taken care of now, so I wish to get things back on track." It was fairly odd how the man's hair was soaked to the folicle, and yet it still stood as tall as ever.

The younger fighter just exhaled slowly. "I guess I understand. You know my stance on the subject; I know yours. We'll have to just respect one another's positions and move on. You felt you had to do it, so I can't fault you on it. You did as any Saiyan would and pursued your goal no matter what opposition appeared, including your own friendships. I... guess I can say I've been there..." he trailed off, hearing a noise nearby.

Reijin grabbed Vejita by the sleeve and the two ducked down low, slowly stepping forward as they saw a figure huddled within a small carved rock for shelter. Upon seeing the figure, the man crawled forward, a feminine figure coming into view beneath it. The girl was sitting there, grumbling and complaining as she threw rocks out of the small cave into a puddle that was forming.

"I don't know what's worse... Out there, the rain is falling and soaking everything and destroying my clothes, and in here its just pooling up my ass and still staining my clothes," she whined, throwing another rock unhappily.

Upon recognizing her aqua hair, Reijin realized who was before him. Before he could rise though, she noticed him as well, or at least a figure in the woods. She immediately reached for her bag and greeted him.

"Fuck off."

The male Saiyan was a bit surprised at the hostile greeting, but he rose to his feet and stepped forward. "Well well... It seems the daughter of Vejita himself has arrived on our little planet." At that moment, Vejita stepped forward as well, surveying the situation.

Bra's eyes widened and she immediately climbed out of the small cave and leapt into his arms. "Dad!" she cried, having apparrently not seen him in some time. Then she looked down at the cave again and groaned, realizing they were all standing in the rain again. "I hate this place," she muttered.

She stopped by a lake, and then began pondering about the collar around her neck. She touched it, remembering she had one last year. It prevented her from flying. Her mind then drifted off to Olibu, a participant from last year, back again for another try, just like she. How was he coping? Would the two meet here in DA? Would fate come into play? She would seriously contemplate killing him this time around, as he was a good ally. Regardless, she hoped to meet the man again.

I wonder what weapon I have this year? It had better not be a baseball cap again, because if it is, that Jack?s a dead man.

She smiled when her hand touched still. Intrigued, she pulled the weapon out of the bag. ?Holy Shit!? There in her arms lay a gun the size of an AK-47. ?Uh?? She had an orgasm, something she had not experienced in a long time. Vegeta had not been able to measure up. The sober woman held her gun out. ?Duuf duuf duuf,? she let out, making kiddish sounds, pretending she was letting loose on the others contestants. She laughed, visualizing their screams of agony, as ki ripped through their bodies. ?HAHAHAHAHA!? she continued menacingly, a woman temporarily out of control, letting her imaginations run wild, eyeballs rolling from left to right.

Why did she need to pretend? She was not any kid with a toy. She had the real thing. The human decided to name it Tina. ?Okay you wanna play rough?!? she quoted from a movie, before pulling the trigger, which to her amazement released a flurry of ki, instead of bullets. It was perfect, absolutely perfect.

?Crikey!? called out a voice from within a bush to her left, deciding to make its way out. How unfortunate because Bulma had no idea anyone was even in her midst. A peculiar red skinned, yet attractive young man stood before her with his hands up. ?Okay, you got me. Core blimey.?

She laughed with her gun still aimed at his chest. ?I didn?t even know you were there. Well isn?t this a sticky situation. For you that is.? The red alien cursed himself for his critical mistake, which now likely cost him the chance of making it past the first day. This was not what he hoped for.

Let me read his mind?

?I bet you?re thinking, I?m such a fool.?

?Yes?? he retorted in a mutter of words. ?I can also read your mind.? He must have known telepathy too. She lowered her weapon. The man with the Australian accent calmed his nerves. What a relief that was for him.

?You can speak telepathically.?

?Yes,? he answered.

?Then you are useful to me.? She needed eyes at the back of her freakin head. The young man could be those eyes she lacked. With telepathy, the two could communicate discreetly concerning any signs of danger, without the need of speech. She signalled with her gun for him to follow her. Jeice felt he could trust a woman who had just spared his life. Besides, an ally with a Ki Machine Gun who knew how to execute it immaculately was an advantage. Whoever dared to fuck with them would be sorry.

The swordsman staggered about as he journeyed. His eyes still throbbed with that burning pain and his vision still failed to return to its standard. His teal skin around the wound had begun to peal from its place, carelessly falling to the ground as he walked onward for what seemed like an eternity of nothingness. He passed by things, but he did not view them; he couldn?t.

Rain fell hard upon the entire island, drenching everything and everyone.

The wind blew gently against his back as his legs began to tire out. He dragged his feet for the next few miles?through mud, large puddles and soaked leaves that didn?t have the strength to cling onto trees.

Finally, he arrived.

His vision had improved, but barely. He could no longer feel the wind gently whip against his back, but he could hear its motion rocking a metal object to his right. He looked up. It was a flagpole. The flag whipped and twisted as the wind had its naughty way with it. Gokua tried to decipher the words stamped in the left corner of the flag, but his vision had not improved that much yet.

His entire body had been doused in the heavy rain that fell ceaselessly throughout his small journey. He let out a small sneeze as he looked around. It was an incredible sight. He saw buildings that were so large that they scraped the sky. And convenient stores on the corner of almost every block?as far as he could tell.

He walked over to one of the smaller buildings only a few feet to his left. It had a porch roof; he used it to shield his soaked body from even more heavy rain.

His belly growled viciously; he was hungry. He pulled his backpack from . . . his back (Surprisingly, it was completely dry) and unzipped the smallest compartment?in the front?and shoved a hand inside without having a care to look. His hand scavenged around like a frightened mouse under a blanket until it finally struck something. He grasped and pulled; he yanked out an old ball of wheat?bread?wrapped in some type of alien plastic. It was in an orb shape, but as far as Gokua?s blind eyes, it was still editable. He undid the plastic on the ball and tossed it behind him carelessly. He ate. The bread felt thick in his mouth, absorbing his saliva, but still he ate.

Yamu and Paragus walked, not stealthily exactly, but both had a visible air of readiness. The two men were compressed springs, coiled snakes ready to strike at a moment?s notice?but that did not mean there was no time for camaraderie.

The unlikely pair sat down for a rest and a snack at the top of a low rise that gave them an excellent view of the surrounding clearing. The small thicket they sat in gave them a little cover and a clear site range in every direction.

?Let me see that bat of yours, Yamu.? The one eyed warrior asked as they both sipped their water. The ebony eyed Earthling flipped the bat, grabbing it by the head and offering the handle to Paragus. ?Nice?I expected it to be lighter?? he surveyed the wooden weapon slowly rotating it in his hands. ?Who?s ?Kari???

Yamu leaned his hand forward, silently asking for the symmetrical club back. He spun it over his head with a wink?

Kari Nor jumped up with alarm. That was the signal?Yamu meant her to go to bed now. She pouted a little as Moira escorted her to her bunk even if her eye lids had been getting heavy for some time there, it had been a long night waiting for the opening of the Dante?s Abyss.

The small girl rested her head on the hologram?s chest. ?You?ll wake me up if he gets into a fight, won?t you Moira?

?Of course, sweetie. Right now you need some sleep so you can watch the rest??

?Thank you?? she gave the artificial being a kiss on the cheek before rolling out of her arms and into her bunk.

Moira left the room, but stood outside the door, rubbing the spot on her cheek where the little girl had kissed?wishing she could feel it.

Yamu knew his young ward was now fast asleep so he began, ?I led a campaign on Arlia not to long ago, a lot of people died but their Civil War is finally over. A girl name Kari?s parents got caught in the crossfire when one of my agents self-detonated in order to take down a rival. Truthfully?it was a miracle the girl survived and yet another that she was found in time to rescue her. I owe it to all those who died to at least take care of her and I have been ever since. That name reminds me not only of my debt to her, but all of Arlia.?

?Probably should have engraved it on Rocket Launcher.?

Yamu laughed, ?I like this,? he held the smooth weapon up to his face, ??I started fighting close quarters, it is what I?m good at. Plus, wood is easier to engrave then metal.? The two shared a weak laugh, happy for any distraction from the game albeit brief or lame. ?What about you? What are you doing in this game??

Paragus shrugged as he took a long swig, ?I?m a professional fighter, y?know? Where else would I be??

An explosion over Yamu?s head sent both men into a prone position, scanning every direction for the attack. The both looked at where the explosion had come from and saw a perfect hole blown clear through the tree.

They heard a sardonic laugh and both looked up to see a cyan haired girl toting a machine gun walking across the clearing. ?You should really keep your guard up, Yamu. I was tempted to aim just a little farther down!?

Yamu smiled, a mixture of happiness and irritation, ?Normal people say ?hello?, not hand out heart attacks.?

?I?m special like that, plus, if I?m going to kill you it will be in the Finals!?

Another familiar face crossed behind her.

?Jeice?!? Paragus and Yamu spoke in unison, then looked at each other. ?You should have said something?? Both stared at the other and decided to greet the new arrivals instead of saying the same thing at the same time again.

Pleasantries and introductions were short, all four knew why they were there and making friends did not even make the list. Everyone was a little surprised the others knew each other, but the fighting community could be quite small sometimes.

?So, have either of you two seen any actions yet?? Yamu asked as they set off once again, with no particular goal in mind.

?No?just her nearly turning me to swiss cheese!? Jeice joked as they hiked deeper into the woods.

?None of us? None of us have had a fight yet?? Eight eyes looked back and forth from one another with a twinge of shame. ?C?mon, this is DANTE, fighting is what this game is all about! This is the only place where the entire Quadrant can see you fight, where a nobody can become a celebrity. It is a travesty that all of u have gone this long without seeing at least a little blood?? With that he turned in a flair of his cloak deeper into the woods.

The always curious Paragus asked, ?Where are we going??

?To kill someone.?

Bulma pressed the muzzle of her gun to his chest, ?Then I?ll take the lead.?

?And why is that?? He asked pumping up every inch of his height and bulk to tower over the young woman.

?Because I have this and you have ?Kari?.?

He smiled, ?Just you wait?see how much damage I do with this compared to you with that when we finally fight.?

Jeice and Paragus rolled their eyes and gave each other a look, hoping the other two did not always have spats like that.

Bread was considered one of the heavier foods in existence . . . or at least on planet Earth (Namek?s dried cucumbers were up there too). He finished the ball of wheat, feeling his mouth dry up. Remnants of the bread were even stuck to the roof of his mouth. He reached inside his black jacket and pulled out a small canteen with the letters DERAHK embedded on the front. He opened it and brought it to his mouth, taking a small swig of its contents. It was alcohol, aged to perfection. Gokua sucked his teeth as he felt the strong alcohol wash down into his belly. It had that aged taste that so many people yearned for. It pleased the swordsman.

The rain continued to pour constantly and at a consistent rate, showering over the entire island for what seemed like a few days (It had really been about an hour). The sky was clouded over, shielding the island from almost any light, though the sun did get a few moments to shine while the clouds made their reluctant passing. The earth absorbed all of the rain that fell upon it, and while some areas had consumed an overabundance, other areas?farm areas?still engrossed as much water as possible.

He took another swig, and his face wrinkled, and a grunt escaped. ?Good shit,? he muttered as his eyes darted around. Paranoia had struck him hard. He wasn?t afraid of death, but he wasn?t the foolish type to hunt it either.

Gokua finally turned around to view the building that was behind him. It was made of brick. The windows were smoked. Cages had been mounted over the windows so no one could attempt a burglary. It must have been done specifically for the competition; the drillings were fresh in the brick and the paint was glossy; new. He glanced at the door. The door didn?t have as much protection. The owners probably figured that a locked door would be enough security at that entry point.

I wonder what type of materials are inside, Gokua thought. I could definitely use an umbrella, flashlight, and even some more food for what may be a long journey ahead.

His eyes fixated themselves on the door. He couldn?t visualize the finer details, such as it being made of a young Joshua tree. What he could see was that it was frail, and that one easy stomp could probably crack the damn thing in two. He did just that. With a quick flicker of his knee, he pushed his foot forward, smashing the door in. The hinges added no support, and the door ripped right off of them, flying into the darkness of the store. With slow steps, Gokua went in, almost as if following the lead of the soaring door.

The store was dark, as if it had mysteries that needed to be shrouded from the contestants. Gokua reached to his right for the switch. No success. Then the left; same result. Fuck, he thought as he took a few cautious steps forward. He had been injured, after all, and any sly motherfucker could easily attack him. He reached into his bag, grabbing out that oh so trusty weapon he had been given. He grasped it in his right hand firmly, prepared to thrust it forward with cruel swiftness.

Well, Bujin, tell me when you stop, Rae sighed as Bujin maneuvered through and around a few trees. I?m done trying to decipher where you?re going.

Bujin stopped and took a moment before answering, ?I?m not lost.?

Uh-huh, Rae said sarcastically, I think you?re going in circles. We?ve passed that tree a hundred times.

?Rae, they?re trees. They all look alike,? Bujin sighed. ?They don?t do anything. What do you expect, for them to wave at you??

Do you?

The blue man frowned at the question. He had to admit that his mind hadn?t been working normally for the past twenty-four hours, but he wasn?t insane like her comment suggested. So what if he heard voices, see things that aren?t there, watch people turn into gigantic chickens, and watch imaginary pigeons carry away beer bottles. That didn?t necessarily mean that he was crazy. Insulted by the thought, he remained silent and decided to click a button on his simplistic scouter. He needed a change of direction.

When he found a landmark to approach on his map, the annoying voice of Karl?something came over the loud speakers once more. He began by telling the contestants about how the ratings were doing, and all the other irrelevant stuff. Just as Bujin was starting to lose interest, he began spouting out the danger zones.

Taking note of the ?bad? areas, Bujin began to move toward his destination again. However, much to his dismay, the sky seemed to open up and the rain came down harder than Bujin had ever seen before. It came at the perfect time.

?Rae? Any suggestions?? Bujin asked, hoping to use his imaginary friend to his advantage. However, he was met with a not-so-familiar voice.

Uhh?she ain?t here, the male voice that Bujin had almost forgotten about replied.

?What the--?? Bujin stopped himself mid-sentence, suddenly remembering the male voice, ?Haven?t seen you for a while. Where?s Rae??

She?ll be back, dude, the man answered, To be honest, I don?t know where she goes.

Bujin shrugged, and walked out of the remainder of the forest and into a wide-open field. Taking an opportunity to rest, Bujin threw his bag on the ground and plopped down next to it. It was supposed to be a relaxing moment, but a familiar buzzing enveloped his head once again. It was dull this time, though, and not nearly as painful as the last time. The hallucinations didn?t let up, however, as Bujin looked up to see a gigantic squirrel staring at him from across the field. Under normal circumstances, Bujin would have made a few nut jokes, but confusion had reared its ugly head and left him speechless.

The former psychic, though several times smaller than the giant animal, wasn?t scared. After all, how could a cute thing like that squirrel do anything to hurt him? Fate, obviously pissed off from the last time, threw another irony in. The squirrel?s roar was more reminiscent of Godzilla than it was a cute, furry, little squirrel. It began to charge at him, the vibrations from its huge footsteps rattling the contents of his bag. Bujin closed his eyes tightly, trying to think the monstrosity out of being.

Not now?

The monster approached.

Don?t do this to me now?

The roaring sound got closer. Finally?

Bujin! The male voice intervened, causing Bujin to open his eyes and see sweet nothingness, What?s wrong?

?You mean?? Bujin paused, blinking, ?You?didn?t see that??

See what? The man inquired, confusion sounding as much in his voice as it did in Bujin?s. Dude, you?re trippin?.

?Shut up, Nancy,? the blue man teased, gathering his things as he stood up.

What the hell? Why do I get the girly-sounding name? Nancy whined.

?Because you?re a pansy. Now let?s go.?

Leaning his binding-made-bicycle against a wall, Buu sat down to rest. He patted his belt, just to make sure the sword was still tucked in, before turning to his bag. Having been caught up in the opening excitement when he first arrived, he hadn?t bothered to check out all of his equipment yet, but six hours and no fights later he was beginning to realise it might be handy.

Without so much as a moment?s warning, an amplified voice rang across the sky. ?Ahem! Wake up, my little warriors!?

Buu cringed. That fucking voice always sent a shiver up his spine. Tearing off a piece of bread and idly throwing it into his mouth, the monster suddenly choked. ?The danger zones!? He?d completely forgotten about them. Last year he?d mostly left it down to the others to do the grunt work, but this year he was alone.

The golem shook his head and composed himself. He could handle some ticking and crossing. Pulling out the map, he listened in and began to scribble.

?See ? one. Dee-four ?. ee-eight, uh, nine ?? Growling and clenching the pen, he abruptly bellowed, ?Slow the fuck down!? He pushed a hand back across his forehead, the sound of fingers on balloons emanating from his bald cranium. ?I need to fucking kill someone.?

Supes blinked suddenly, realising what he?d just said. It was true, though. He was a born warrior ? he lived for fighting. When was the last time he?d actually killed someone?

The monster stroked his chin. Dante?s Abyss: Conquest. Quite ingenious, actually. He?d used his Metal Binding to make a bomb. It had levelled their fortress and killed a great number of intruders. But not enough. The battle was lost, and he, Super Buu, had been killed by his own hand.

What really pissed the golem off, though, was that despite all his best efforts, his friends had been killed. Seventeen ? Kakarot ? even Kid, who was supposed to be an immortal like he.

Buu clenched his fist. It made him angry. He would give anything to be able to wipe those scum who?d killed his friends off the face of the universe. Those cowards had needed two armies to take them down. What were the names, though ??

Suddenly he blinked. What if they were in this competition too? It made sense. Dante were fans of recurring characters ? that?s why they?d been so desperate to get him back. If they had managed to track him down, after having been brought back from the dead, surely they?d been able to keep a hold of the others who?d been eliminated through normal methods?

Yes! This was an opportunity to take back what they had taken from him. Buu could kill them here and now, and there would be nothing anyone could do about it. Total revenge, and completely within the rules of the game. The construct couldn?t waste this opportunity. They would choke on their own blood ? he?d make sure of it.

Tucking the food back in his bag, Buu rose to his feet. With a cheery ring-ring, he was off.

?Fucking cunt?? the words seemed fluent enough while still in his head, but while passing by his quivering lips they more so resembled the growl of a hungry beast then coherent English. Cradling the mangled digits of a broken hand, anger began to consume the elfish warrior. Like a steaming tea kettle about to reach its inevitable boiling point, so too was the rage within Tapion about to uncork.

The rainfall was now at its zenith, continually coming down with ample force to drench not only the already muddied earth but to also weigh down the non-transformer?s loose fitting clothing. The wind too had now also picked up to an almost violent level, causing frequent gusts to howl through the still darkened early morning.

Unhindered by the elements around him, or the low growls emitting from his equally agitated partner, Tapion sat?injured appendage in hand, a malicious scowl spread across his dirt soiled visage, and revenge at the top of his mind. Although he knew the emerald foe whom the duo had just scuffled with was certainly somewhere in much worse shape then he was, the mere knowledge that he was still breathing was more then enough to destroy what ever sentiments of happiness he should have been feeling for simply being alive himself.

Rising for the first time since the attack from the large moss covered rock from which he sat; the non-transformer peered over towards his namekian ally. A killer in his own right, but as reliable an accomplice as any, Tapion knew that the two fighters would be on the same wavelength. Revenge was in need of serving, and pulling out one of the small army issued explosives from his pocket, he suddenly remembered. Revenge was a dish best served with a fucking grenade.

The rain was still pouring down from the dark sky of Dante. Puddles were up past the saiyan?s ankles. The ground had changed from a solid and into a liquid mud mixture in which Para made footprints in with every step. His footprints weren?t alone though for he know had a team. The Guardian of Arlia walked steadily a couple paces behind him.

The blue haired women was talking to Yamu. She was enthusiastic about the game, even more than Para was himself. Her weapon was strapped over her right shoulder, but she was ready to rip from its holstered position and to fire upon anyone she had to.

Walking along side Para was his ally and friend Jeice. The two warriors hadn?t spoke in a while, but he was ready to catch up on everything. The saiyan had went to earth to revive his red skinned friend, but didn?t actually stay to talk to him.

?So I guess the revival went well.?

?Aye.? Jeice muttered just keeping his eyes locked on the path in front of him.

There was something different about Jeice. The one eyed warrior couldn?t put a finger on what was wrong, but there wasn?t really time to delve into the psychology of his friend. Water poured from the saiyan?s hair and onto his face. He wiped the drops from his good eye.

?This rain is starting to get to me.?

?Just don?t think about it. The rest of them aren?t.?

By the rest of them he meant the other competitors. The people that were probably looking to kill them as they were looking to do. Para couldn?t help but over hear the conversation his two other allies were having behind him.

?Listen. I guarantee that Kari gets the first kill in this thing.? The protector of Arlia spoke proudly.

?Yea well that?s impossible because you would have to get close, but for me its just BAM, BAM, BAM. From far away and its over.? Bulma put up a valid argument.

"Well it looks like we will just have to wait and see now wont we?"

Bulma nodded in approval of the friendly bet. Taking Jeice's advice, Para tried to pay no attention to the rain drops beating onto his cranium. The bread he was holding had gotten soggy, but it was still good. The food rolled down and it his empty stomach with a splash.

?You know they say when it rains really hard God is crying. Well I think its true. He is looking down on this game right now. The death and destruction.? Jeice said interrupting Para's taste filled moment.

The red warrior clenced his glass shard tight in his fist causing a trickle of his own blood to flow down the blade. Jeice?s words left a silence for a little bit. Yamu and Bulma continued their argument to the beat of rain drops and thunder claps.

Daylight had broken by now, with the sun peering over the edge of the island. The promise of rainfall had loomed along the clouds before the KC could make them out, but now he was drenched. His weapon had long been deactivated, for wisdom of its instability in these overcast conditions. It crackled with a potent display of its potential when it was live and Cold wondered if he could flip the safety and squeeze the trigger should he come to be ambushed. In the downpour.

Then the host, Carl, came over the loud speakers that resonated about the island. He bid them a good morning in his cheery, exclamation-point-filled manner.

"You guys are moving at a very slow pace! Fortunately, you've made up for it with great footage and our ratings are at a record high right now!" KC couldn't shake the feeling that he was dealing with a very, very dangerous man. He hadn't covered much ground, the sweltering jungle around him had caused him to travel much slower than he had intended, but he was sure to pick up the pace now that the sun was beginning its daily commute.

"And now to announce the new forbidden zones!" he was quite jovial for a stereotypically flaming character, but Cold showed no notion of this. Somewhere deep within the Icers heart he felt a moral contempt for their host as he called out the zones that were forbidden. When he pondered what was so forbidden about them he remembered the collar fitting around his throat. It provided them with flawless audio and visual footage, probably activating the best angled camera's nearby; and undoubtedly tracking them as well.

Stopping for a moment, the giant huffed a gasp of his breath and flashed the audience two thumbs up. But the gesture of boyancy quickly turned to one of scorn, his middle fingers sprouting from amidst his digits.

"Fuck your ratings."

He had to find Koola and he had to find him now. Judging his son carefully: his overinflated ego, his recklessness, and his demand for attention at the worst of times; King Cold knew he had to reach higher footing to catch sight of him. He wasted no time in scrambling under a tree and withdrawing the map and compass from the bag he'd dragged around. He didn't know where he was, but judged accordingly by the roads nearby.

"C1... D4.. E9...." He marked down the zones that Carl had decided were danger zones and scoffed aloud. "F2... G1.. H10.... I8...."

With one already dead in the past few hours... it was time to reassemble his weapon. It would be a dark day.

Garlic Jr

Minoshia

The bloodthirsty Konat saw the goblin before he noticed anything. Both had walking in the same direction until Minoshia finally looked to the left beyond the row of trees to see what was on the other side. Immediately, he halted and dropped his bag.

Garlic Jr stopped when he heard the bag hit the ground. When he turned, Minoshia was just crossing under the trees and towards him. "Whoa!" the goblin said quickly, raising up his gun from his bag and dropping the duffel sack.

Upon releasing the trigger, a round spud shot out at a fast speed and knocked Minoshia right in his wavy-haired head. Shocked, he backed up, grunting and holding his head. "What the Hell?!"

"You've just been potato'd!" Garlic announced. Then he hesitated, "...Okay, that sounded a lot better in my head."

Minoshia was not up for fun and games. He had come into this game to spill some blood, and the goblin looked like he had plenty worth losing. "You stupid little midget!" He shouted, leaping forward. "HA!" Before Garlic could react, Mino's foot came hurling towards his chin.

The little goblin lept into the air above Minoshia, avoiding the kick. He used a hand to grab a branch, aiming his spud gun down again at the Konat's head.

Garlic was no pussy when it came to fighting, but he wasn't an idiot either. Better to live to fight another day then die here before he had the chance to strike.

Minoshia jumped up after him as he climbed on the branch, grunting from the potatos bashing into his head. One in particular shattered his nose, causing him to fall downwards and hit the ground, hard.

The little goblin grinned as it cocked the gun and used the trees to head off. He was tempted to strike Mino while he was down, but best not to risk losing a limb when he already had the upper hand.

Garlic was literally whistling as he headed off via the trees. Minoshia, on the other hand, was pissed.

Seventeen had never really gone to a beach before in his life. After all, there were never any instances in which he ever had enough free time to fantasize about such things; however, just when it seemed he would finally be able to sit back and make sandcastles, Mother Nature once again dealt him a crushing blow. With a single bolt of lightening and a low rumble of thunder, buckets of rain began to pour from the heavens.

?Just my luck,? the android grumbled as he ran for shade beneath a nearby palm tree. Mumbling obscenities beneath his breath, Seventeen fell against the tall tree and let gravity pull him down to the sandy earth from which it was rooted. ?I wish I was bipolar or schizophrenic or something,? the machine-hybrid complained as he began to draw shapes in the sand. ?At least then I would have someone to carry a conversation with,? the android snickered as he finished his crude picture of himself.

With a grin on his face, Seventeen outlined another relatively low-quality picture of the konat prince Minoshia in the sand. Once the second drawing had been completed, the machine-hybrid began to stammer a chorus of what he considered laser blasts and explosion noises. Using one swift motion, the machine-hybrid drew a deep, definitive line from the picture of himself straight through Minoshia?s head.

As with any occasion where he started to enjoy himself, the android was once again disturbed by the overbearing nature of the planet. Just as Seventeen was beginning to create another picture, an enormous wave came crashing inland?reaching all the way up to the far end of the beach where the cyborg was sitting. As the android watched on in horror, his panorama was obliterated by the force of the water as it roared passed him and crashed onto the street that was just behind the machine-hybrid.

?Damn it,? the cybernetic warrior whined?slamming his palms into the darkened sand as his frustration began to swell. ?Enough of this tomfoolery?I need to destroy something!? Seventeen yelled as he vaulted off his sand-covered posterior and pivoted to face the cityscape. Letting his survival bag slid off his shoulders, the android lifted both of his palms and unleashed two bursts of ki into the side of nearby building.

Although the blasts had been relatively weak in nature, they still packed enough of a punch to bring the building tumbling down. Acting off the resulting adrenaline rush, the onyx-haired warrior bent over and picked up his duffel bag with his left hand. Reaching into the bag with his other hand, the android pulled out his weapon?a handy-dandy?rope. With a snicker on his face, Seventeen freed the tool from his bag and tied one end into a slipknot.

Whirling the newly forged lasso above his head, the android whipped it toward the satellite dish of a nearby building. After giving it a tug to ensure that the knot was tight, the android quickly scaled the small office structure and removed his lasso from where it had been anchored. Turing around to face and opposing building, Seventeen once again hurled the lasso at a large bulletin board, but this time he used the rope to swing across the gap between buildings.

?Spider-man and Batman can eat me,? the cybernetic warrior shouted joyfully as he landed on his targeted building and unfastened his rope.

It was raining then too...

With an uncharacteristic frown, Raditzu watched the rain fall from the large window in the principal's office. Outside, the fauna-laden terrain of the island had melted into the rocky plateaus of the Planet Vegeta. All across the plateau lay dead saiyans, their bodies dripping from the rain, and their armor splattered with blood. Once more Raditzu looked upon himself lifting a woman into the air and quickly ending her harmless life.

Without actually moving, Raditzu found himself standing above the fresh corpse. His younger self had already taken off and there was no one else in sight. Woman lay on her back, her now-lifeless eyes staring up into the rain. Raindrops rolled down her cheeks as though they were tears from her eyes. It was a touching sight, or would have been to most people; the long-haired warrior found himself chuckling.

He could clearly remember the look in her eyes just before she had died. She had been scared, frightened, and wholly defeated. She was no soldier, no warrior, and she had no place on a battlefield. Her body was soft and her movements had been filled with hesitation. Even in death her body lay half-curled up and a look of terror was frozen on her face. To a warrior, and moreso to a saiyan, it was a disgusting sight. But despite that, Raditzu looked down at the woman with a slight grin. His eyes shone with a form of eagerness, almost joy, that he rarely showed.

"If you only knew..."

Rad's thought was cut short by the sharp crack of thunder and lightning. Whether it had occurred in his daydreaming, or it had actually happened in the island, was impossible for the saiyan to tell. He found himself suddenly staring down at the spot where Gohan had been laying. On the ground not far off was the ex-contestants survival bag. With a leisurely stride, Rad scooped up the bag and took a seat in the rather posh chair that had probably been intended for the principal.

Jabbing his hand into the bag, Rad rummaged around for a moment before pulling out a large chunk of bread. All the contestants had been provided with rations and Rad was more than happy to save his own until he absolutely needed them. As he chewed on the rather tasteless meal, the saiyan pulled the bag open all the way and peeked inside. The shock of what was staring back at him almost knocked the warrior out of his chair.

"You have gotta be kidding me." With an overabundance of excitement, Raditzu pulled a small, plush Raditzu doll out of the bag.

---------------------------

"Ahh! Someone help me!"

In his right hand, Raditzu held his doll and in his left he held a piece of bread. But not just any piece of bread, this particular piece had been chewed to roughly resemble a person. Rad spoke with a high, squeaky voice and move the bread-doll up on and down as he spoke.

"Oh please, isn't there anyone who can save?!"

"Don't worry!" With a swoosh noise, the Raditzu doll came flying down towards the bread-based damsel in distress. "Everything's ok now that Raditzu is here!" The saiyan felt the need to drop his voice as low as possible when voicing himself.

"Oh Raditzu! You're so cool. I'm sure you can save me!"

Dropping the bread "woman" Raditzu picked up another bread person, who's head inexplicably shaped like a triangle. The newcomer came flying into Raditzu with a pow.

"I don't think so, Raditzu. You may be strong and fast and super handsome, but you're going down!" Rad dropped the 'bad guy' and picked the woman back up.

"Oh no, please Rad, save me from the stupid, ugly, idiot Vegeta!"

With another woosh Rad moved the bread woman from Vegeta's side of the principal's desk to the Rad-doll's side of the desk. Now he held the Rad doll and Vegeta, the two facing down in what was obviously an intense confrontation.

"What did you do?" Vegeta squeaked.

"Hahahaha! I'll try to slow down for you next time, Vegeta!"

"Grrr... you've always been completely better than me, but today you DIE!"

As the bread-Vegeta bobbed up and down, the Rad doll weaved back and forth, dodging a salvo of pew-pews. As Vegeta tired, his attack slowed and his "breathing" noise grew louder and louder. Naturally, Raditzu was completely unharmed.

"Its been fun, Veggie, but I think it time to end this. Heeee-YAH!"

The Rad doll slammed into Vegeta, who's head went flying into the real Rad's mouth. Inbetween munches of delicious Vegeta head, Rad cackled and performed a victory dance with his doll.

"And that," Raditzu said to no one in particular, "is how Raditzu saved the day."

Super Buu

Paige

Supes was on the hunt, ready to get the game started. It was easy to make out a campsite in the middle of the hilly forest he was travelling it. When he noticed the figure of a tent, he snuck closer, unsheathing his ki sword and dropping his bag down.

The construct didn't bother wondering who the campsite belonged too. As far as was concerned, you had to be pretty dumb to set up a full campsite in the middle of a warzone. He set a foot on a rock and lept up, raising the sword and coming down onto a cloaked figure.

"BANZAAAAIIII!"

Just as he came down, the sword missed the figure due to a quick dodge. He stumbled forward, turning as he caught his stance.

In front of him was the figure that he missed. A familar woman stared back at him, an angry scowl on her face. "...Paige?" He blinked.

"Too slow," she spat, "I just got back from puking my guts out. You just fucked with the WRONG pregnant chick!"

He blinked. "You've gotten pretty fat," was the only thing he could think to say. Unfortunetly, humans were touchy with that sort of thing. Especially females.

Her eyes bulged, arms sparking as her Raikinesis began to come loose. "How DARE you! I am NOT fat! I am just a little bulky, you stupid little...thing!"

"Sure you are," Buu blinked. He was beyond confused. "Bulky works too."

"I'm not that bulky!" She shouted, hormones getting the best of her. "That's it, I am so tired of you already! Take THIS!" She slammed her hands together, lightning shooting from her fingertips in a flash, hurling towards Super Buu.

Unfortunetly, her speed was dumbed down due to her overweight figure, giving Buu the chance to jump up above it and towards her. He hesitated for only a moment, gripping his sword, but slashed forward without thinking.

On the other side of Paige, he landed on his feet agan, knelt down on one knee. He hadn't thought of the consequences of his action. For him, it was kill and win. That was his only reason for being in the game. It didn't hit him until it was done that he might have one angry android on his ass.

Five seconds later, Paige's body crashed to the ground.

The group took a break, it was still raining pretty steadily and they had not even seen a trace of any other competitors. Karl had only told them one had died so far, they all thought they would be tripping over live and willing competitors.

Yamu walked over to Jeice first, the red skinned fighter sat playing with a long strait shard of what he told them had once been a mirror. Shallow lines of blood ran up and down his right palm where the cragged glass and sliced into its wielder. ?Here, take this?? Yamu ripped a line of fabric from the bottom of his cloak and handed it to the white haired warrior. ?That?ll give ya a handle. I guess the mirror is now a shiv??

Jeice laughed as he began wrapping the dark black fabric around the base of the shard, leaving a sharp pointed tip at the other end. ?I would guess so, too. I noticed the name on your bat, touching.?

?I?m a sentimental guy, what can I say?? The veiny brute said with a laugh and a shrug as he walked over to Paragus who was looking back down the way they had come. ?What are you up to??

?I?m watching our tracks wash away.?

Yamu followed his gaze, the rain that pelted their own heads filled their footprints then carried them off. There was a metaphor to be had there, but Yamu did not feel like coming up with one at the moment, he had business. ?I wanted to ask you for a favor.?

The old Saiya-Jin stood startled for a moment before answering, ?Sure, what is it??

He held up his weapon up so that it was between the both of them. ?You?re the only who knows why ?Kari? is important to me. Bulma knows her name and Jeice knows the girl, but you?re the only one I?ve told ?why? to. It is important to me that ?Kari? makes it to the Finals?if not in my hand, in someone else?s. If I go down?I want you to get her, if we are both going down make sure one of the other?s get her. Broken, bloodied, or bashed I just want her to be there in the Finals.?

?I-I can do that.?

?Thanks, Paragus.?

Yamu walked away, thinking of a new jab he could try on Bulma when Paragus stopped him. ?Hey, Yamu. Thank you.?

?For what??

With a smile the Saiya-Jin shouted through the rain, ?For trusting me.?

Yamu laughed back, and just like a school boy opened his mouth to take a big swallow of the sky water before speaking. ?Thank you for being trustworthy.?

?If I go down?get the medkit off of me?I?d rather it do somebody some good then just sit with my corpse.?

?But think of the irony!? Yamu drank in the rain again, twirling ?Kari? to his side like a cane.

?You sure seem to be in a happy mood.? Bulma stated, her hands resting on her gun like most people?s would a beloved pet.

?Serenity is on my side, Bulma. That?s why you?ll be giving me a loaf of your bread after ?Kari? whacks someone?s head off before your finger even touches the trigger.?

?You have a big mouth for someone who hasn?t even seen an enemy yet.? Bulma snorted, as the foursome continued again through the damp underbrush.

?It?s not my fault they are all running scared.?

She rolled her eyes and followed the hairless human as he continued to spin his bat like he was singing in the rain.

?Look like we here, Baggy!? The happy pink giant galloped into a deserted city, awaiting to look for more food. On the short trip to the town, the mighty pink being had already eaten his map and compass, and was currently chewing on the video camera?s instructions. ?Dodoria wonder what food can find.?

The best methods for looking for something are asking somebody else, and to smash things and make a lot of noise. And because the town was deserted, Dodoria began to stretch. After making sure that every part of his body was loose, the childish pink monster began to back up, throwing away the instruction manual. Dodoria began by revving his engines to his imaginary motorcycle. ?Vrooooom! Vrooooom!? he yelled while twisting his hands backwards. Next, he flicked his kick-stand up with a ?Click!? The overweight gumball adjusted his mirrors, making sure to wink back at himself with a grin. ?Ready Baggy?? the pink monster asked his unmoving luggage. ?Good, cuz we go!?

Dodoria charged after a small shack with wooden walls. He ran strait into the side of the shack, busting through the flimsy wood, and exited out the opposite side. The shack preceded to crumble, and Dodoria cheered in a soft tone, pretending it was an invisible crowd watching himself smash stuff. ?Dodoria smash!? the loveable buffoon yelled. He looked down at the silent container and asked, ?Did Baggy see that??

But he wasn?t done yet. The raving rad gumwad ran forward toward another building, a two story farm house. ?Vrooooom!? the pink monster cried, pretending to jump a ramp. He crashed through the 2nd story window and continued to smash his way through the rest of the building. The building began to crumble as Dodoria raced outside through the front door. Just as he jumped out, the house collapsed into a large crater. The pink moron then looked back at the destruction he caused, once again creating a soft cheer to himself. ?No, no, it no big deal!? He raised his arms and waved to his crowd, producing a wild grin and winked to the audience.

He decided to create even more excitement and charged up a ki ball. Dodoria began racing toward another group of building with tremendous speed. Just as the pink pineapple was about to connect with a movie theater, he fired the ki bomb at his feet, causing him to soar into the air. He was high above the small part of town, and began to collect gas inside his stomach. Just as the flying pink fighter was directly over a cluster of houses, he released his gas in a sonic burp. The shockwaves of the blast demolished the poorly built buildings, scattering the debris everywhere. Dodoria landed in the middle of a large crater, all that was left of the neighborhood.

This time, the pink being with an overactive imagination began creating donuts in the ground with his motorcycle by running around in circles. Dodoria finally stopped and threw his fist into the air. ?Boyah!? For his last trick, he pretended to lift his bike into the air. He slowly lowered the invisible contraption into his mouth and ate it whole. The overweight warrior threw both of his arms in the air. He pointed both his index and middle fingers and yelled to himself. ?Dodoria rules!?

After finishing his show, the fat pink being climbed out of the crater and looked around. After seeing that he managed to destroy every building in the area, he gave himself a nice pat on the back. ?Did Baggy like show?? he asked the unanimated object. ?Dodoria did.? He began to walk away when he felt his stomach growling. The hungry pink beast began to wince in pain, and began breathing irregularly. ?Dodoria...hungry...?

The once lovable pink giant quickly turned into a raving beast. He kneeled down on all fours, and his eyes turned red. The hungry beast?s voice grew deeper and raspier. The pink monster ran in a random direction, looking for something to satisfy his empty stomach. ?DODORIA HUNGRY!!!?

Celipa

Zangya

Zangya frowned as she folded her arms under her breasts. She had thought that perhaps travelling to the top of the hill in the middle of the center, she'd see somebody on the island. Though the view was breathtaking, it wasn't the reason she had come up so far. She saw nobody. No victims.

But someone saw her.

Celipa the saiyan literally skipped her way up the hill, happy for another person to interact with. Quite frankly, the giddy girl was bored and needed some kind of social activity, even if it was hostile.

Stealth wasn't really Celipa's expertise, so Zangya heard her coming pretty quick. The woman turned, pulling her pistol out quickly to prepare. Cel stumble up onto the hill, gripping her own weapon. Just in time to get shot at.

"Whoa!" The saiyan yelped, rolling sideways and dropping her bag. "Hey, no fair! Time out, time out!" Unfortunetly, her frantic pleas went unheard, as Zangya kept firing, missing each shot as Celipa dove sideways until she finally disappeared behind a rock. "That was so not cool! That could hurt!"

"Duh," Zangya responded, preparing her pistol again.

Celipa was preparing her own weapon for battle, seeing that the only interaction she'd get here was a fight (which was just fine with her). "Okay, let's do it!" Cel said cheerfully, her attitude back to happy.

"Excuse me?" Zangya asked sternly.

"I mean fight!" Cel barked, "You pervert! Not 'do it', do it! I mean 'kick your ass', do it!"

That was when the Ader-jin appeared on the other side of Celipa, pistol pointed up. "Give it a try," she spat, "Twerp."

Balancing on the edge of the hill, Celipa spun around and used her gun to knock Zanga's pistol to the side and down the steep slope. Zangya, in reaction, backed up to avoid being clobbered, but only gave Celipa room to aim. "Bad move!" Cel grinned, "Try THIS on for size!"

The shotgun blasted upwards at Zangya's cute face. The side of her head erupted in blood, causing her to fall back and hit the rock at an angel. Her body spun in it's fall, landing on the slope and then rolled down, following the pistol in a less-then-graceful tumble.

Celipa couldn't resist the urge to do a hip thrust in victory.

Like a wounded animal, Licorice fled the scene, shuffling his feet and stumbling over himself in order to escape as quickly as possible. The inner cowardice lying dormant had personified into a solid entity; one whom Spice detested. Suddenly, something sparked within the Makyo, and his arguable rationality had returned, nearly forcing Spice off of his feet as he awoke to himself running through a barren field.

?Huh? Where?am I? The last thing I remember is fighting some weird alien,? he thought to himself, coming to a complete stop and checking to make sure he was still in one piece. Luckily he remained unscathed, but was still peeved at the fact that his previous adversary now thought of him as a pansy.

?Licorice, you fucking moron, you should have let me continue the fight. Now that flat-nosed freak thinks I?m a pussy.? A sinister voice bellowed as Spice?s expression curled into a vicious snarl. With tensed muscles and dilated pupils, Mace grabbed a stone and shattered it over his head.

?Agh!! Mace! How could you be so crude? Licorice was just doing what he thought best, given the situation. That really hurt?? Ginseng interjected with tears swelling in his eyes. He must of taken the brunt of the mashing stone. A mammoth knot formed near his temple soon after.

?Shut up! All of you get out of my head!? Spice roared as he massaged the throbbing bump on his skull. The device placed securely over his left eye flickered to life once again; the same arrow pointing north blinked in repetition. The Makyo knew not of the object?s purpose, but he followed it regardless. Whatever it was, it was valuable; just like the new Kevlar vest he donned stylishly over his garments.

Snap!

His pointed ear twitched when a small twig cracked behind him. Spinning around with haste, the cyan soldier?s eyes broadened as he realized he just almost blew an elder merchant to smithereens. The poor woman seemed quite pleasant and cheery; however age appeared to have gotten the best of her.

?Hey there sonny, would you be so kind as to help out an old woman and purchase some items?? the kind hag requested, gripping a small strap with her wrinkly hands and removing a rather large bag from her arched back. Her strength was not what it used to be, which became apparent as the pack slipped out of her grasp and spilling out with three packs of Ramon and a bundle of juice boxes.

Instantly, the Makyo?s eyes narrowed and keyed in on the products while his tongue slipped out once again. Like a panting dog waiting for the dinner call, Licorice pounced onto the pile and began scarfing down. Food particles flung in every direction as the cyan glutton devoured every morsel. The old woman squealed and fell over onto her rear; she couldn?t believe the audacity of this fellow. With one large gulp, his gorge was finally complete, and the makyo stood to his feet.

?Ahh, that hit the spo?blah!? A voice interrupted, placing a hand to his abdomen and one over his mouth, preventing from vomiting everywhere. His stomach twisted and churned as it nearly overflowed from the brim. Fortunately, Spice managed to keep the gruesome eruption at bay.

?Licorice, why did you have to eat so much, Gah!? snapped Spice with obvious displeasure. The milky-haired brute reached into a small bag and flicked a coin at the elder woman, landing just beside her. She remained rather speechless and regretful of engaging the psychotic combatant. However, even though embarrassed and somewhat queasy, Spice was satisfied; considering he hadn?t eaten all day.

?Licorice.?

?Yeah??

?I hate you??
