Gyarados > All


I still don't see how the creators made him Flying/Water over Dragon/Water. All serious Pokemon players recognize him more as a Dragon than a Flying.

There was only supposed to be one evolution series of dragon pokemon in the first game, as they were a bit over powered. Getting one at level 20 evolution as early in the game as your first grab of a magikarp that are as common as snot would be stupid.

At least Dratini was really hard to come by and getting a Dragonite was a long, hard trip.

If you grabbed the Magikarp at Mt. Moon, you'd have a Gyarados by the time you fight Misty.

Also, Magikarp was hard to train, just like a dragon-type. Gyarados rarely gained levels.

For Magikarp, I was just like 'start with it, switch to a badass pokemon' for a lot of battles. It got to level twenty fairly quickly.

And having a dragon type by the time you got to misty would be kinda over powered, wouldn't you th-....My god we're fucking nerds.

Tch, No one wondered why Lance was at the top of the pokemon league? Dragons rock despite how they're easily felled by an ice attack(x4 effectiveness for Gyrados/Dragonite)

Rock Slide does more damage against Psychic. Maybe not as much as it does against Normal, but it does more than usual.
