What do you listen to?

[Bojack]

Put your mp3 player/playlist on shuffle/random and post the first five songs, and the story behind how it each got on your playlist/in your life (optional). Obviously skip an artist if they showed up already and go to the next one. Re-rolls are allowed. You can do it multiple times, just keep it one list per post and don't be a post whore. Mine:

Was Blind But Now I See (instrumental) - Jeff Beck
-Searching on Limewire for Nadia by Jeff Beck (today actually), and this was a send off. But I liked it so I kept it.

Black Star - Yngwei Malmsteen
-First learned about Malmsteen in a guitar thread I started on Penny Arcade. Some guy linked to a live performance of this song and I lubbed it.

Cocaine - Strata (thanks to Bra for this one)
-Bra posted the lyrics to this in the Yay Lyrics thread. I searched for the song and liked it.

The Great Gig in The Sky - Pink Floyd
-Bought Dark Side of The Moon one night that I was really mad. I went downtown at like 10 oclock at night and bought this CD. Came home, listened to the whole thing in one sitting. I copied the whole thing on my I-Pod, but this one is one of my favorites from the CD.

Thunderhorse - Dethklok
-Some guy doing game/tv themes on his guitar on Youtube was doing a Storm Eagle (Megaman X) cover. I looked through his stuff and found this. Never saw an episode of Metalocalypse.

Eh... but w/e, it's pretty time consuming so it stays.

[Grandpa Gohan]

Stupify - Disturbed
C-Town Bone Thugs-N-Harmony feat. Twista
Valentines Day - Linkin Park
X - SOAD
Never Enough - Eminem feat 50 Cent

There are no stories, I just got my hands on the CD's one way or another and added it to my vast collection.

[Nori]

The Animal I have Become- Three Days Grace
Extinction - Megadeth
Iron Man- Ozzy
Bycicle- Queen
A Toute Le Monde- Megadeth

The only one that really has a story is the Queen CD. I'v had it since I was very little. My first CD ever really. I was very happy when I got it.

[Bra]

God Given - Nine Inch Nails
-Not really much of a story. Introduced to the band a couple years ago, and soon Trent Reznor became my favorite artist. This is off their newest album, which I bought a few days after it released. *Shrug*

Supernova Goes Pop - Powerman 5000
-I heard a couple other songs by this guy on a local radio station about a year back. I thought he kicked ass, so I dled some of his stuff. He's Rob Zombie's little bro, so the music bears somewhat of a semblance to that.

Rusty Cage - Johnny Cash (Soundgarden Cover)
-I love this guy. Cash. Kicks. Ass. Not to mention, the man in black actually employs an electric guitar and 'rock n' roll' drums in this tune. It's good.

Decadence - Disturbed
-I like Disturbed. I pretty much always have since I heard their stuff. I bought their Ten Thousand Fists album a couple weeks after it dropped, and this is a track off it.

Victim - Eighteen Visions
-Damn. I heard these guys about a year ago on the same local radio station I heard Powerman 5000 on, and I thought these guys rocked. This song's gotten kinda tired for me, since I've heard it way too many times, but it's a very, very good song.

Linkin Park - My December:
Linkin Park are pretty cool, just a random track that I have by them. Off the top of my head I can't even remember how it goes.

John Lennon - Imagine:
Heard this one day on my school's announcements, and REALLY liked it. Before this I never lsitened to anything of this genre but this one song opened some doors for me.

UTADA - My Sanctuary:
Kingdom Hearts is fudging awesome!

Jack Sparrow's theme song:
Pirates of the Caribean/Jack Sparrow are fudging awesome!

If that's not the most random list of five songs ever...I'll be amazed.

[Jewtastic]

Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean by Nightwish
Nightwish fucking rules...so I bought this CD

One by Metallica
Um...if you dont like this you should not breed.

Who are You by The Who
Um...they are the best band of all time.

Shut me Up by MSI
Funny story...some girls on the CAD told me to listen to Faggot. So I did. Then I got Bring the Pain, Molly, and Keeping up with the kids...in no paticualr order. Then I said..."fuck yes I love this band" (true story....I was there -Kevin) and bought Frankenstien girls...followed by their other CDs.

Radio/Video by System of a Down
I fell in love with Toxicity (CD not song) have really enjoyed their music ever since...any song, any album. However Toxicity is their best.

8o
Dammit, I need to learn how to count...

[Joe Android 15]

Can't Be Touched- Roy Jones Junior

It's our warm-up song, it just gets you pumped up good and going. Love it

Concentrate - Xzibit

Warm-Up song... I also listen to it when I write RPs and do homework. It's chanting actually makes me wanna concentrate.

The Realist N*&$A - Biggie Ft 50 cent

Just completely random and funny. I like this song alot, listen to it so much.

They Don't Know - Paul Wall Ft Mike Jones

Warm-Up song. I love it, it's very good considering a white guy made this rap. But meh.

We Takin Over - DJ Khaled

Angry song, gets your pumped up. Super goood!

[Downy Peach]

The Rolling Stones - Can't you hear me knockin'

My dad always used to play this song in the car on the way to dropping me off at school before he went to work, and for some reason it lodged itself into my memory. It's still one of my favourites, so I'm not surprised it turned up.

Silverchair - Those Theiving Birds

Uh, I only remember my brother's obsession with this band which later rubbed off on me. This is another awesome song.

The Eagles - Hotel California

What a classic. I dunno what to say, with The Stones I shortly followed up with these because there was a link somehow somewhere.

The Rolling Stones - Satisfaction

I'm not surprised this has came up. I have too much of this band on my MP3. I like the loose kind of riff it has.

Voodoo Child - Jimi Hendrix

Again, a classic, to me anyway. I think I first started listening to this when I was young. I used to jump around like a clown a lot, so yeah. Uh, it's always stood out to me because it's from Hendrix's best album, and I like to listen to it every now and then at college. It's kind of disappointing because, I don't think I realize how much I've been abandoning this track recently.

A lot of that stuff I still listen to, if not that song the same artist.

You fucking win dude. Seriously.

[Downy Peach]

Can't beat Hendrix.

[Milk Bubble]

Death Cab For Cutie - Sleep Spent
My favorite band.

Desaparecidos - Mall Of America
My favorite Conor Oberst band.

Blonde Redhead - Melody
My favorite band with an asian girl singer.

Sunny Day Real Estate - Shadows
I like this band but I don't really like this song.

The Microphones - My Roots Are Strong And Deep
This is my favorite music to be quiet and relax to. It's so soft and nice.

[Raspberry]

Linkin Park - Nobobys' Listening
-Just plain awsome, its a great band and song.

Linkin Park - Easier to Run
-Also a great song.

KoRn - Politics
-Well Korn seems cool, the song is a good one.

The Symphonyx - Winterfall
-Its a good one nice sound comes from the violin, at least I think its a violin...>_>

Linkin Park - What I've Done
-Not the best one Linkin Park has done but its new and so, its alright. Not great but ok.

[Drake]

Three Days Grace - Pain
Nickelback - Savin' Me
Default - Deny
Big Sugar - Diggin' a hole
Jakalope - Feel It

Really nothing special about them, other than they are all Canadian bands, I have other stuff like Alanis, Celine, ToD, OLP, GBS, but no Barenaked Ladies D: That's on my old computer.

[Jinpo]

The Fray - Look After You
Yu Yu Hakusho - Kurama's Theme
Maroon 5 - Can't Stop
Sa-Ra Creative Project feat. Talib Kweli - Feel the Bass
Klaxons - Golden Skans

No story. Just good shit.

[Pink Underoo]

[Blind Man]

The Simpsons Main Title Theme (Extended Version)
Haha wow. Well my friend gave me this big CD of Simpsons songs that he had, and it was amazing. That's about it.

32 Ways to Die - Sum 41
I believe All Killer No Filler was my first CD, and I loved Sum41 so much back then that I got Half Hour of Power, their first CD. I still love their old stuff (I didn't really enjoy Chuck all that much).

Lemmings - blink-182
Dude Ranch is blink-182's best CD, despite the absence of Mr. Barker.

Give It Away - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Honestly I don't listen to them as much as I should, but one day at school I went on a music rampage and just downloaded a ton of shit, RHCP being one of the bands I ransacked.

Rootsawalkin' - The Skoidats
Don't listen to them much either. My friend forced me to have them, they're not bad.

This is not very indicative of what I listen to. I mean Sum 41 and blink-182 I still listen to regularly but other than that it's mostly ska and stuff. Also, Bojack, Thunderhorse ftw.

[Olibu]

Freak on a Leash- Korn

Wait (Whisper Song)- Ying Yang Twins

Beverly Hills- Weezer

Let Go- 12 Stones

Simple Man- Shine Down

Just cause I was curious... The next song was Grillz by Nelly XD

[Captain Silver]

A Perfect Circle - What's Going On
Finger Eleven - Thin Spirits
Stone Sour - Reborn
Breaking Benjamin - Water
The Cranberries - Zombies
