Back in the Red/Blue days, I managed to beat the editor of our UK Nintendo official magazine with that combo. I was using a Gengar, and luckily they only used Mewtwo if you did (which was 95% of the people in the queue). Sleep was so much powerful in those days ... My moveset was Hypnosis, Night Shade, Dream Eater and Confuse Ray, but these days there are far better sets for 'Gar.
