As much as I like/ respect you Reijin, this is exactly what I'm talking about. We have an answer from Waff on staff's turnover stance, people don't need to put out their own version/ explanation of it. And though you are no longer "in the loop," you have decidedly more information than I, on account of your previous in-staff conversations.
My point is, Waff has offered a definitive statement, why not leave it at that? When people (staff, ex-staff, friends of staff, people who just think they know) start throwing in their own two cents here and there, other people (like me) get confused.

It isn't an invalid point I'm making here. Are you familiar with the children's game called "Telephone?" A group of children sit in a circle, on child makes a message and tells it to the person to his/ her left. Then that child tries to pass on the same message, and so on. The point of the game is to show that after a message goes through the reception and projection of multiple people, the message gets changed inadvertently. The point is, when there is an issue (like the turnover), it does more harm than good to have everyone and their brother tossing in their two cents because it dilutes the original message.
So comments like:
Quote:Oh Lord.
Quote:Wow, this again.
Quote:Haven't we discussed this 3049829384 times?
are uncalled for. Clearly I was confused, so I sought clarification, and justifiably so. I don't need low jabs from the peanut gallery, thanks.

Oh my God. Guys, just drop it. Turnover isn't happening, that's all that needs to be said.
If I see another damn post or thread about this I'm going to flip out.
Aqua, just RP, stop worrying about he said/she said and leave the drama at the door. Waffuru said it and many others have. This thread is nothing but a headache.
I should lock it but I won't.

Aqua, this is a matter that's been going through various stages. All throughout, the Staff has maintained a VERY consistent stance, just with different wordings that some overzealous members (such as yourself) read too deeply into. The point has always been "Act like it isn't happening". All along.
From my experience, Staff is all on relatively the same page about this (though my knowledge is admittedly dated). It has been my experience that, no matter how clear Staff makes an issue, there will always be something that the members of Chubbs have to bring up. It's as if the masses have some sort of a capacity for argument that, if left unfulfilled, desperately looks for something to argue about. That's why these topics are so immensely popular. That's why topics about Dana and Max are so immensely popular.
You've been given a bottom line over and over again that has been consistent, yet you refuse to accept it. It's getting ridiculous.
Act like it isn't happening. Accept that, as a member, you won't know everything going on behind the scenes. You don't have a privilege to information.
Staff > Members. Let's keep this in mind, shall we?

I've gotten the bottom line in this thread from Waff, and I'm not questioning that in any way.
My commentary is on a larger scope of understanding and/ or confusion and how the two get tangled up on this site. In other words, I'm trying to point out how it is people come to get confused and then offended. Like how you're offending me now. I was unclear about something, and so I brought it up. The problem lies not in my bringing up a question (which could have, as both you and 18 have pointed out, been answered with one succinct response), but in the little jabs people feel the need to get in. God forbid someone ask a question and not get mocked for asking.

It's not that you brought it up, it's that this exact same thing has been brought up a dozen times before. The question is almost exactly the same, and the answer is almost exactly the same (with just a few words different in either case).

Apparently something got mixed somewhere along the line because I was confused and sought clarification. I got it from Waff. Why throw in unneeded jabs, when the convo could have just ended there? That's how drama gets started.

I'd really like for Turnover to happen, personally. And, to whatever degree my time allows, will continue to work on content for that purpose (none of my recent work has been on paper... I need to fix that). That's more for my own personal amusement, though.
Waff was speaking a bit out of turn. Most of the staff was still all-for getting the new content in working order the last time it was talked about.

That was the direct result of said conversation and still where we stand on the Turnover. We might still work on it, but its not actually coming for a long while, if at all. When it looks like it might be at a place where it will become feasible, you will all have very ample warning.

Forget it, I can't discuss anything here.
Thanks Rad, Waff and Tien for the info.

Yeah, I don't think the staff are going to just pull something out of nowhere. I'm fairly sure (this is completely personal assumption) that one day in the far distant future there will be a such thing as a turnover taking effect. However, this is said on the same exact stance as the man that says "I'm sure that one day in the far distant future they will create Diablo III". There is no 100% guarantee one direction or the other, if that is what you are looking for. There is just the expectation that for now, with the current information the staff have, and the current opinion they are under, there will be no turnover. If, and only IF this decision ever changes, which is still possible as nothing is ever so definate that it'll never be brought back up for review, they decide to begin work on a turnover again, they will give you at least one year's notice from what I've gathered before the actual event happens.
All of this said from a completely outside "not in the loop" stance, by the way. From the same eyes as someone with the same information as yourself.
....There is no Diablo 3 being made? Those son of a pigs..

Rad, I'm not on AIM much these days because it jacks my computer to hell. But the next time I see you on chubbs the same time as me, I'll drop you a PM to get on AIM, if that's alright.
