Diablo 3?

Uh...no.

All of the people in Blizzard that worked on the Diablo games (forgot what section it was) left Blizzard and formed their own studios: Flagship Studios. They then proceeded to create Hellgate: London which being referred to as Diablo III or Diablo 2.5 to some people since it's the same team. Some people believe it's the closest thing we'll get to Diablo III. Those who've played the Beta, say Hellgate sucks though, apparently. But reviews say it owns. Who knows, it doesn't interest me in any way.

Many people pick apart at what Blizzard says and thinks they have it under works. Nothing has been set in stone about Diablo III, at least nothing to public knowledge. If there is Diablo III, it'll be 2+ years.

The only new Blizzard installment we're gonna get other than WoW expansions is Starcraft II. I've seen a lot of Diablo III stuff for a while, it has only been rumor as far as I know.

Hasn't come out yet, but it looks awesome.

Waff and I played a little bit of it at the Game Developer's Conference a few months back. Its pretty much what you'd expect from the guys who made Diablo. And I mean that in a very good way.

I really like the game from what I played of the demo. I played the Blademaster to lvl 4 and the Marksman to lvl 5 (max for demo). I'm just a little bit worried about the sort of MMO crossover they have planned for multiplayer. The $10/mo "elite" subscription sounds gay, they plan to just give the new content to subscribers.

Also, really saddened by a lack of LAN play. I don't really want to have to go online to play with people in the same room as me. It adds lag and well, people are fags online. As far as I've heard characters will be stored locally anyways, so it's not like they are preventing cheating by not including LAN play. Have a LAN-only option for characters? I just think it's lame.

Otherwise, GOTY. I think it will easily give Bioshock a run for it's money.

Just finished getting my Marksmen up to 5 (not that it really matters, since you can't save) but I plan on making a Blademaster here in the near future.

I haven't decided how I feel about the way they're handling the multiplayer. I probably won't until I actually try it. At the very least, its nice to see that they're doing something to try and bridge genres.

I instantly thought "Diablo 3" when I started playing it, and got a good run out of the time I spent with the demo (not much) but I was having some graphic issues with my machine. Looks cool, but yeah, I don't know how I feel about that multiplayer BS.

I don't plan on getting annoyed over anything they've done until the game actually comes out.

Didn't realize it auto-saved. Doesn't really matter much, though. Once you hit the xp cap, not much more point in playing that character.

Its pretty sweet. The complaints, thus far, have been only about some of the things they've said they have planned for Multiplayer. The single player game is amazing.

And the free portion of the multiplayer should be more than enough for most. Really, all the subscription gives you is access to some special areas, shinier models for equipment and extra character slots. I think it's 4 slots normally, and 8 for subscribers. Oh, not yet confirmed but PvP and "Hardcore" mode might be subscribers only.

That said, that shouldn't stop it from being Game of the Year in my opinion. The single player is going to be amazing and I think there is a good chance the multiplayer will be amazing as well.

Hardcore and Elite modes will be Subscriber-only, but there's nothing to indicate that PvP will be.

Doesn't really bother me, one way or the other. I'm not planning on really getting into the multiplayer. Online play wasn't really a big deal for me in Diablo, and I'm not sure it will be for Hellgate. Who knows.

I'm going to be buying it for the single-player (which will be unaffected by the subscription) and anything I get beyond that is just a bonus.

EDIT: Crazy thing to note: "While everyone gets 3 character slots, subscribers can have a maximum of 24 characters." o.0
