North American Union

So, what are your thoughts about the the combining of Canada, US, and Mexico, and the abolishment of the borders and a rewriting of our decelerations of independence for our respective countries.

Never heard of this? Likely because it's not being discussed generally with the public, this is being done by the higher ups in our government without our approval or permission.

I don't really have an opinion about it one way or the other, and I don't necessarily doubt that it will happen some day, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

I think it would take some kind of huge catalyst for this to ever actually be pulled off. The way 9/11 spurred the "war on terrorism" for example. Otherwise, its attitudes like

I see what Rad is saying. I personally think its a great idea, one I've discussed myself. I see it as a very real possibility with one slight exception. I believe that Canada and America will benefit each other greatly, however, due to the economic situation Mexico is in, along with its borders with some heavily drug trafficking countries, that it would be more of a disadvantage merging with them. Not that I believe they wouldn't work to change things, but that the amount of "blood loss" from such an action might kill the body before we can "stitch the wound" if you catch what I mean.

No I agree, and I was surprised to find out that our respective governments have been working through it. It's been going on since at least 2004, and it's only been mentioned a few times on CNN so far. I'm just trying to bring it to light since it seems like they are just sort of doing it under the table.

Me finding out about the Queen only affected Canadians, this affects all of NA, and if you guys don't know either I think it's a bigger issue.

Probably, there are plans to make the "Amero" once we become a union to replace our respective dollars. Not only that, but apparently there are people working to make Union's all over the planet, The Asian Union, African Union, Pacific Union, kind of like everything was divided up in Gundam.

It is a logical step, however the problem is whether the general population is ready for it. Really everyone should know about this, it should be common news and there should be open forums regarding it because while it is a good thing people may not be ready for it

At the same time, they are most likely feeling up the situation before its ever made public, given how radical it is. Similar to the turnover situation, in a sense. I don't believe it good for the greater numbers to announce a change of this size and then go "oh nm" and expect things to just continue as normal. Additionally, it might receive far better opinions with a different president in office.

No where am I going to run if they decide to reinstate the friggin draft? I was going to flip a coin between Canada and Mexico. Shit now I'm going to have to go overseas...and yes I am very much serious lol. They reinstate the draft I'm rolling out!

But I'd be all for a union, it would do everyone some good to be able to travel and move different places, I mean if we're allowed to go over the border with no problem we can start businesses and stuff to help out the economy over dar, and start putting a stop to druf trafficking.

I'd love the Union idea. Except that it undoubtedly wouldn't last long, I'd think. There's always a faction who wants to break off, eventually.

Generally, America is a picture-perfect example of Western civilization, being the forefront of that particular movement. While that's a very broad description of a very large movement, I'd say America's cultural identity is a non-specific branch of all things Western.

I doubt this will happen. America as a whole is too independant. I know the Mexican's would love for it to happen though.

I'm pretty sure the american government would love for this to happen, I'm sure they'll love the chance to expand into Mexico and do what they want. Anyway Janemba I'm positive if they do the draft they'll be grabbing unsuspecting dudes and maybe even women lol. I've actually thought about joining the army these past few months but want to go to a four year college first.
