I just heard on G4 that the blonde guy from Buffy is playing Piccolo in the live action DBZ movie. I had no idea they were even still doing the movie. But do you think G4 is lying?
And, if they do make this movie, more importantly, will you go see it?

A live action DBZ might actually be pretty badass. Severely CG-laden, but jesus h. CHRIST if the right director (Spiderman's director and cg group) to do it, i'd so be there. Anything else though, meh. with a good budget, maybe. But most likely, it'll suck balls.
Fuck you, Photobucket.

This movie needs two things to be successful:
1) For me to write the script
2) For me to play Nail who would inevitably, as a result of the first requirement, end up as the most powerful warrior in the universe.

They've been saying they're gonna do a movie for the past five years. I'll believe that when I see it.

No offense to anyone excited about this movie...but I'll be damned if they didn't give the role of Piccolo to Wesley Snipes.
20th Century Fox has set Justin Chatwin (The Invisible, War of the Worlds) to play Goku and James Marsters ("Smallville," "Angel," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") as the villain Piccolo in Dragon Ball Z.
Justin Chatwin(Goku): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0154226/
James Marsters(Piccolo): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0551346/
In the big screen adaptation, Goku is a powerful warrior who protects the Earth from an endless stream of rogues bent on dominating the universe and controlling the mystical objects from which the film takes its name.
Actor/writer/director Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle) is producing. Final Destination helmer James Wong will direct from a script he wrote. Ben Ramsey wrote an earlier draft.
The story is based on Akira Toriyama's popular manga that has spawned graphic novels, a long-running TV series and more than 25 video games. The Jump Comics division of Tokyo-based Shueisha published the "Dragon Ball" manga.
With shooting scheduled to begin later this month, Fox will bow the sci-fi/adventure worldwide Aug. 15. Chatwin has already begun training with 87Eleven, the stunt performance company behind the action sequences in The Matrix, The Bourne Supremacy,Mr. & Mrs. Smith and 300.

I hope they don't do a live action DBZ movie, I really think Dragonball z would not translate well into a movie, especially live action. I'd still watch though, just out of curiousity.

If they were planning on making a movie, wouldn't the movie itself be on imdb. I dont think there coming out with a movie, its allllll speculation. Not to mention it would suck, suck soooo bad.

Damn you Kenny and your closed mind! It could be cool, but it might be rediculous especially cause we are all used to cartoon characters. I always hated when they made cartoon movies reality. I honestly think Dragon Ball Z is pretty much dead to the public with the exception of quite a few people, but still not popular enough to put all the money into it...well money that would need to go into it to be good. I mean, the ki, aura, flying, fighting, if it was low budget it would be terrible.
On the other hand, aren't they making a movie that is completely 3D animation...Beowulf or some shit like that? I could've gotten the wrong impression from commercials, but that's what I got. If they could do that for a DBZ movie I think it would come out much better.

Its a dragon ball movie, and apparently they are actually attempting to get this made. It came out on a few credible sites unlike alot of rumors. I still wont hold my breath.

I'd like to see something like this done in the fashion of A Scanner Darkly. or Beowulf.

ugh, no. A scanner darkly's rotoscoping was not good at all for me. I understand the look they were going for but... I couldn't stand it.

I still haven't seen the whole movie. I should probably stop trying to act like I know things. =( But I did like the little that I saw.
